It was suppose to be her day off, but Granny said she needed Ruby to cover somebody's shift. Ruby was working in the diner and then told another employee she was going on a break. She headed upstairs to check on the guests at the B&B. Knocking on the door of room Neal was in, Ruby waited for an answer. She was just checking up on all the guests to see if they needed anything and how they were settling in. But, considering Neal was the only guest at this time it was an easy job. After a few more knocks on the door, it finally opened. Neal took a while to answer his door.
“Hello.. I was just checking to see how you are settling in and if I could get you anything.” Ruby said looking at the man that answered the door. She really just wanted to be of assistance to the guests. And if Granny taught her one thing, it was to be nice to the customers in diner and at the B&B. If they wanted to stay in business or have any customers at all. Ruby smiled ”If you need anything at all, feel free to let me know. I'm Ruby.”

 You have no idea what I've lived with
Ever since arriving in this town and checking in to the Bed and Breakfast, Neal had been struggling to get a good night's sleep. He had come to this town to be with his son, a son he never knew about. And he had also come face to face with his father and Captain Hook again.
While his son had given him the chance at family he long since lost, this was what was making him toss and turn for countless nights. His thoughts had refused to shut off, when it came to him getting the family he'd always wanted, and, making him think about it until all hours of the night.
He had been welcomed to this town by the owners of this Bed and Breakfast before being offered a room here. Neal wasn't sure what his plans were, but, he would think of something. Maybe looking for a job.
Neal heard the knock on the door of his room, and, he slowly stood up, unsure who it was. Neal was hesitant to answer it, because he thought it was his father, but, at the same time it could be one of the two people from downstairs.
Running his hands through his hair, Neal made his way closer towards the door, before slowly opening it. And he was strangely relieved to see that it wasn't his father. "Hi. Well, yeah everything's great. I think I'm good for now" Neal said, a slight smile on his face. "Nice to meet you Ruby, I'm Neal. Well, there is one thing I need. I really need something to shut off my brain for a while. You can't help me with that can you?"

Ruby only knew some things about Neal but not a lot. She had heard around town that he was Henry's father. She felt like checking on the guests in the bed and breakfast. And this gave her an excuse to get away from Granny and the diner for a while. And if Neal needed help looking for a job or anything, Ruby would be glad to help in any way she could.
She figured he didn't want to answer the door unaware of who it was. When she knocked, it took him a few minutes before opening door to her. Ruby looked at him when he opened the door. ”Hi. I'm glad to hear everything is good. I just thought I would stop by and check on you and if you needed anything.” Ruby smiled at Neal. Then, she heard Neal ask if she could help him with something. Ruby got a big grin on her face. She could use something to distract her for a while too.
”Nice to meet you too Neal. Yes, actually I can help you with that. I know the perfect way to do that. Give me a few minutes to get changed and I will meet you back here.”Ruby laughed a little and looked at him. She probably should explain what she had planned for them.

EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS, HAPPENS BY DESIGN. AND THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. Neal didn't know how much Ruby knew about him, aside from the obvious. There was a lot more under the surface then just Henry's father, and, Rumplestiltskin's son. Being in this apartment type room, made him wonder just how long he would need in order to make this place home. He hadn't had real roots anywhere in a long time, and, now he had been pulled from the last one that he'd started to make some roots in. He knew the first step would probably be to find a job in this town, in order to be able to afford to stay in the Bed and Breakfast.
Hearing the knock on the door, he'd been hesitant to answer it, because he thought it might have been his father coming by his room. But, after seeing someone different on the other side of the door through the peephole, Neal felt more open to opening the door. “Yeah, everything's just fine. Well, I do appreciate that. Didn't get a lot of that before here.” Neal returned Ruby's smile, and, awaited her answer to finding something to distract him from his thoughts for a while. All Neal wanted was to escape his head, in order to get some sleep.
“You can? That was a surprise, I never really thought you'd have a yes to that. And what is that exactly? Um, o... ok then. See you back here.” Neal said, as he watched Ruby just smile at him. “Ok, but, before you take off. Can you tell me what exactly your plan is?” Neal leant against the doorframe, as he looked at Ruby. template by Margie @ Adoxography 2.0 |

Neal Cassidy
Ruby looked at Neal for a minute thinking about the guy in front of him. She was wondering what was going on with him and what his story was. But, she wanted to find out more about him. Ruby couldn't help be curious about Henry's father and Mr. Gold's son.
Ruby smiled when Neal opened the door. ”I'm glad everything is fine. If you need anything,, you just have to let me or Granny know. We will be glad to help.”Ruby wanted to get Neal's mind off whatever was troubling him.
Ruby laughed a little. ”Why didn't you expect a yes to that? You will have to wait and see.” She smiled a little and waved bye as she went to change colors after telling him she would be back in a few minutes and leaving him to wonder about her plan. She went and changed clothes and then went back up to Neal's room and knocked on the door. When he opened, she gave him a smile. ”Ready to go?”
