It had already been an odd day. She had already ran in to a blast from the past, Graham, in the Sheriff's station. She was still a little messed up about it all. Graham was the first person since Neal that she'd had feelings for, and now she was happy with Killian. Of course now the past would come back to haunt her. She needed to get away before she went crazy. Was Graham the only one who would come back? Would Neal..would he come back, too? This definitely wasn't something she could handle right now. She needed a break from the drama of Storybrooke, but she knew it would never come.. Especially for her. The savior. What Emma needed now was to get some fresh air.. And she did that while walking to the Mayor's home. She needed to talk to Regina. However, she was on her guard the whole way there.
Storybrooke was a lot bigger than it seemed when there were potential threats and surprises lurking at every corner. She shoved her hands in her pockets as she looked up to the sky. There it was again..that electricity in the air that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. She breathed through her nerves, and from the outside, she looked rather calm. Inside, the savior was hoping for someone to rescue her from what was happening in Storybrooke. Hopefully, Regina - or someone - could give her answers. Was this a malicious act? Would it be permanent? Who else was back? Too many questions.. and no one yet had the answers.

Death in itself was an easy enough concept even for him, who was used to think in less than easy patterns. This however was not what death seemed to be about. Without knowing how he got here and why, Liam Jones found himself in a town that couldn’t be any stranger to him. There were vehicles, pulled by something invisible it seemed, cold concrete everywhere, even the clothing appeared to be more sterile to him, than he was used to. He kept away from people, preferring to observe before interacting. Most people he had seen, seemed to be in some kind of hurry, so naturally, the one person different from that attracted him for some reason.
The girl or woman seemed to be in some form of distress, something internal, as he could not see the signs of her running from someone actively. The captain wanted to help, though could he? Something, some form of instinct beyond his control at least told him he should speak to her. Liam approached her carefully, making sure he was visible, before she could hear her, as to not startle her.
“Ma’am. May I ask if you’re alright? And may I ask what this place is?” He honestly hoped he wouldn’t add to her distress. She seemed like the kind of lady who deserved to be relieved of some of the tension she seemed to carry with her.

Emma knew that she was going to need to just lift her chin up and get on with finding out what was going down here in Storybrooke, but honestly, she was afraid to. The most difficult struggle was figuring out if this was a good thing or not...and what the repercussions would be. She was deep in thought when she was approached by someone who was wearing...definitely something that wasn't from this time era. He asked where he was, and it suddenly dawned on her that this could be another person who was brought back. It would certainly explain the way he spoke, and what he was wearing. "Storybrooke, Maine.. I wager it's a long way from where you're from."
The Enchanted Forest, she wagered. Certainly not Wonderland, and definitely not Neverland. "I'm Emma Swan..the town Sheriff." Wait...was she? Now that Graham was back? Okay, Emma. Focus. "You look...really familiar.." She tilted her head as she studied him. There was something about him...specifically, his eyes. "Are you..." She paused. Those eyes were unmistakably akin to Killian's. "Are you Liam?"

Neither Storybrooke, nor Maine said anything to him. What were those places and where? Maine seemed to be, from what she said the kingdom, maybe. This meant he was way out of the kingdom he had lived in. Maybe time had changed that, a lot even. Kingdoms like any form of government evolved after all. Liam nodded softly at the girls question.
“I suppose so, yet I do not even know where Storybrooke or Maine are located or what they even are.” He looked into her eyes again, seeing a moment of what he could only define as confusion. Well, he probably showed a lot more confusion than she did, given that he was technically supposed to be very very dead. The notion that she was authority in this land did not bother him. He, of all people, knew how strong women could be. If someone considered her equipped and strong enough, she was. And she deserved his full respect for carrying this out.
This Sheriff though surprised him in more ways than just that. She knew him? How did she know him? Was this even possible? He could have been dead long before she was even born, potentially. And if he ever met her, he’d remember it, he was sure. This kind of person, he’d not forget.
“I am. How… Have we met? Because if we did, I am embarrassed to admit I do not have any recollections of you, my Lady.”

So far, she was one for one. He was far away from home..which meant that was likely one of the newest members of the Undead in Storybrooke club. She figured that she'd probably need to explain..but first, she had to see if her next theory was true. Was he who she thought he was? Could it be possible? No sooner did she ask did she get a response confirming her suspicions. He was Liam Jones.. Killian's brother. His confusion led her to explain how she knew - or at least guessed, who he was. "Okay.. this is going to be a lot to take in.. but, I know you because I know your brother, Killian. He's here, too." Okay, that part was easy enough.
"I think the two of you have a lot to talk about.. He's probably going to really.. really want to see you.." She was in awe. She never thought she would get to meet any of Killian's family, as they were all long gone. But now, here was his brother. Oh, there was so much to tell him..but most of it wasn't her place. "Sorry...I keep staring. Um." She shook her head. Trying to cope with all of this was getting a little difficult..but she had to keep it together. "You should probably know that this isn't the realm you remember...this is somewhere different. I'm sure Killian will explain it all to you.." Where was he, anyway?

His brother. She knew his brother. And he was here. He was here and from how she sounded, he was probably okay. Relief flooded him. Most of his life Killian had been his priority. To learn he was alive and nothing suggested anything but him being okay, just had to be a big, big relief. He smiled at her. Just for giving him those news he felt an enormous amount of affection towards her. She cared about his brother, why else would he have opened up about him? Why else would she know him just by his looks? His brother had people who cared about him. What more could Liam ever ask for.
“Don’t you worry, lass. Stare all you want. I assume you know I should be dead. I don’t know why I am here and relatively alive.” It could not be a regular occurrence. The dead didn’t usually rise after all. He could not blame her for staring, for any confusion or even for being suspicion.
“I am sure he will. But, lass, I have to thank you. You just gave me such brilliant news. My brother is alive and so obviously cared for. I couldn’t have wanted anything more after I passed. Thank you, Sheriff.” And this thank you was genuinely, coming from the bottom of his heart. If he could, if he had time, he made a mental note, to thank her properly for those news alone. Emma Swan

Liam was right.. he was supposed to be dead.. but then again, so was Graham and Milah but that didn't stop them from being back. This was bigger than she'd expected. If it wasn't for Graham being alive, she would have thought this was something aimed specifically at Killian. It was definitely troubling that she couldn't figure out what was happening in this town. But.. for now, she'd keep her panic to herself. If anyone in town thought she was having a melt down, they'd start to riot...and nobody needed that. "Believe it or not.. you're not the first one who's been resurrected." She was going to allow his brother to explain.. but perhaps it was best that he was on his guard of what was going on.
"Actually, so far, you're the third, that we've seen. First, was the former sheriff of this town who was killed two years ago. Then, there was Milah.. she was..." This was going to be difficult. "The first woman who your brother ever loved, and she was murdered a long time ago." There was a lot to catch up on. Killian in Neverland, Milah being pregnant.. but all of that was for Killian to tell. Not her. "We're trying to get to the bottom of this... and frankly, i'm happy you're here. We can use all of the help we can get."
She gave him a smile when he spoke of how his brother was cared for, and how it was all he had wanted. "He definitely is cared for.." She had a tone in her voice that spoke volumes of the fact that it was she who harbored those feelings. If it wasn't clear before.. "I love him, very much. And i'm glad I get to meet someone in his family. He's done nothing but spoke highly of you."

It sounded like the dead were rising right, left and center. No wonder this woman seemed so troubled. With the dead rising, there was no way this was a natural occurrence. It had to be magical. How else could this happen? Magic was the only logical explanation to him and probably to others, too. However it was not his most pressing concern. The woman Killian loved had been murdered she said? What had his brother been through? All the more reason for him to be grateful to meet this woman and see and hear in her that she cared and with her probably others as well. Again this was information his brother would most likely not give someone unless he trusted them completely.
“I am at your service, in whatever way I can help.” Even if it caused his death again. If it protected the living, to which his brother belonged, he would do so. It had been part of his job in the past and had always been part of his life ever since he met this tiny bundle of blankets containing Killian. To have the confirmation though, that this woman loved his brother, was more than he could wish for. Liam let his emotions overcome him then. He pulled the blonde into a hug, holding her close as he whispered into her ear.
“In that case, dear, it is an even bigger honor to meet you.” He let go of her. “I can tell you are a great lass and I can tell my brother trusts you, otherwise he would not have given you those informations. I know him. He is bloody stubborn.”

Normally, Emma would try to keep others out of this sort of thing to keep them safe.. But Liam had been a Captain in the Royal Navy, which meant that he would be able to handle situations like this with a calm, cool mind..Unlike most people in this town would be able to do. She was just waiting for Grumpy to catch wind of this. He'd likely start the townspeople in an uproar, and they'd all have a mob on their hands. That was something Emma wanted to try to contain..but she wasn't sure how long that she'd be able to do that. "Thanks, Liam. I really appreciate it. It'll be nice to have someone on our side who can keep a level head in a...rough situation."
She suddenly felt arms wrapping around her in a hug. She smiled, and wrapped her arms around Liam. This was definitely a moment she'd treasure. The words he whispered to her made her smile grow even wider. She knew what he was saying for sure.. his brother certainly was stubborn. "Oh, trust me.. I believe you.. I've seen his stubbornness first hand." It was why she and Killian were together, more than likely.. He wouldn't give up on the two of them. Not even when she told him that she'd never be his.. And yet here she was. "Killian is going to be so happy to see you," She found herself getting choked up. Liam was alive. Liam Jones was alive. She said it over and over again, and she had a hard time processing it. It was just too incredible.
Milah coming back gave Killian mixed feelings.. but this.. this would make him absolutely happy. "He's going to be so.. so happy to see you. I'm so happy to get to meet you."

That must have been Killian telling her he could. How else would she know? Or she just assumed due to knowing how he was a Captain in his time. Either way whatever skill he could provide them with, he would do so, for sure. Liam couldn’t help but chuckle at her expression. She seemed so full of wonder and joy right now. Was this all because she had heard of him through his brother? What had the idiot told her?
“Good. I’d hate to see him loose that. It could have saved my life.” But it didn’t, because Liam had been just as stubborn as Killian – it ran in the family, it would appear. For what it was worth, he was glad he retained that stubbornness. It was just Killian. In the end, he listened to reason still, over being stubborn and wanting to be right. Liam knew, if the man he knew was in any way similar to the man she knew, his brother was still a wonderful person, despite having gone through a lot. And she, she loved his brother, he loved her and she chocked up on his behalf. This was beautiful to witness.
“I am happy, too, lass. For this chance. I did not get to say goodbye, there are things left unsaid and I fear he might have blamed himself for my death. I shall make it right, if I get the time.” Maybe, he should tell her now, just in case. “And I am happy to meet the woman he loves and who so obviously loves him. I can already tell you must be a wonderful person, to have captured his heart. And a strong woman. I’d love to get to know you more, if we get the time. But lass, what really is this place? It looks really weird.”

Emma realized that Liam was exactly as Killian had described. He was a kind man, and she could already tell that. Usually she was pretty good at reading people. When Liam went on to tell her that he was happy to meet her, she gave him a kind smile. Honestly, it might as well have been her meeting a celebrity with how much Killian had spoke of him. But then, he had also said that Killian likely blamed himself for his death. Liam wasn't wrong, but that wasn't Emma's place to say.
"I'm sure you'll have time. This sort of thing doesn't exactly happen every day.. so I don't think it's going away any time soon." It was happening for a reason. It wasn't just because it was a full moon or anything like that. He then asked what this place was, and mentioned that it was weird. Another thing Emma agreed with. She laughed quietly, and folded her arms over her chest. "Well.. this is Storybrooke, Maine. About thirty years ago, an evil queen - who was also a sorceress - sent everyone in the Enchanted Forest here and took away their memories, and also froze them in time. Then a savior came.." She paused. "To rescue everyone and bring back their memories. That's where I came in to the story."
She never really liked to gloat about being a savior. In fact, she liked to keep it to a minimum of people who knew, because with great power came great responsibility and all of that junk. "Now things are starting to get back to normal...and.. this happens suddenly."

There was a story about a curse and a savior. He had no idea how Killian fit into it, but somehow he did. Hopefully he would have time to learn all about it. Hopefully he’d get time to really speak to Emma, to get to know her and see her interact with his brother. He nodded, the idea of this being initially a cursed place sinking in.
“So you broke a curse?” It was damn impressive from what he experienced in his time. Curses were bad news, no matter their shape or form. This one was potentially a curse as well. But they’d get through it. Even if it was a bad curse, he’d refuse to let anyone use him against Killian and in turn against Emma. He took her hand and looked into her eyes.
“For what it’s worth, I shall be of service to you to figure this out in whatever way I can.” Not that he believed he could do much, since this was so obviously magic. He stood no chance against magic, he was just a mere mortal men with no powers. But he’d do whatever he could to help them and protect them. He had lost his life before, but he’d make sure neither of them would.

The explanation that Emma had given Liam was short, and vague compared to what it could have been. There was a lot about Storybrooke that still needed to be told, but that could wait. Little by little.. baby steps. She didn't want to pour a bunch of stuff on the poor man when he was just recently resurrected.. he had enough things to worry about right now. "Yep. That's me.. Emma Swan, curse breaker extraordinaire.." she mused with a playful smile. Really though, being the Savior of a whole town was a lot to handle. It made her feel better to know that others had her back.
Liam had taken her by the hand, and assured her that he would help in any way possible. Her playful smile had turned in to a warm, appreciative one. "Thank you, Liam." It was a simple phrase, but it meant so much. She wanted to laugh at the thoughts running through her mind, of how this was FAR different of a meeting than when she had met his brother Killian, but she didn't want to voice that.. encounter just yet. "You and your brother.. it must be genetic." She proceeded to elaborate. "That Jones charm." Her smile grew a little wider. "You should know that Killian... he's been the only thing keeping me from losing my mind the past several months. You'd be really proud of him, Liam," She wanted him to remember this, when he found out that he had become a pirate. It was in the past.. and now.. well, now... "He's a hero."

“Hardly genetic.” He laughed. “If it was genetic, we’d be cheating lying bastards, leaving as soon as waters get a bit stormy.” And that was not the case with them. They had the pleasure of having enjoyed their mothers influence. “It’s entirely our mothers influence, my Lady Swan, nothing genetic.” He could tell even thought she said he’d be proud of Killian that she was just as proud of him, if not prouder. But to hear it, from her, he was happy.
“I am always proud of him, lass. I have been every day of my life and even through afterlife. It’s…” How was he supposed to explain it? He was Killians older brother, but for the most of his life he had raised him, from when he was just a little boy to his death. He’d always be proud of him, but just in a fraternal way.
“And so are you, I guess. A true hero.” And potentially an anchor for Killian. He hoped she was one. “Lass… why are the carriages moving by themselves? Isn’t that an awful waste of magic?”

Killian never really talked about his father. Then again, he didn't talk a lot about his mother, either. But it was probably because his past was too painful, and he didn't like to bring it up much. However, Emma figured out quickly that Liam had been referring to their father when he spoke of a certain cheating, lying bastard. She stayed silent.. knowing that Killian definitely wasn't like that, and neither was Liam from all of the wonderful stories of him that Killian had told her. "Well then.. your mother's influence did a very good job. On both of you. He was..is..really proud of you too, Liam. I hope you know that." She smiled warmly.
Emma wondered what the afterlife was like. If they knew anything about their loved ones when they were gone..if they were able to watch them from afar.. or if they were just.. exsisting somewhere else. Worse.. was there nothing in the afterlife? Those questions could wait, though.. in fact, maybe those were conversations she should have with someone who she knew better. For now, she had questions to answer...or at least, attempt answering. The carriages.. meaning..cars. "Actually, they don't run on magic. It's a motorized vehicle. Really...technical stuff. There have been a lot of advances since you were gone."
She paused before her eyes drifted to her own car. "Actually, if you want, I could take you for a ride in one. I'm a pretty safe driver." When there wasn't random things in the middle of the road.
