Liam loved to see her smile. She seemed so appreciative of the food. It made him happy to see. This princess apparently was no stuck up royal who couldn't be pleased, as a certain someone would say. She could be tempted to offer such a genuine bright smile just by showing her food she knew and liked, with such little effort. Liam knew he could come to care for her deeply, if not fall for her. Her beauty was one thing, but it seemed to be like she was beautiful on the inside as well. Given that they were alone, Liam had no intentions of pretending to be someone he wasn't. She'd see his true self either way.
"I'm actually not sure if that is quail. It might be sea gull or some sort of disguised fhip." Of course it wasn't. Quails were bloody hard to get on a ship, but the cook had gotten. He waited for a moment to let it sink in, before chuckling. "It's quail, don't worry. He got it on the market here. He is quite proud of himself for that, rightfully so. I shall tell him. Or you could do that tomorrow. I am sure he'll enjoy getting a compliment from a pretty Lady instead of his old Captain." He sure would. He was a man who loved to cook, but even more loved it when people enjoyed his cooking. Liam finally sat with her. He reached for the soup first and started to eat.
"There is actually not much to tell, Emma. It's just me and my younger brother. You will meet him soon, he's on this ship as well. Our father abandoned us when we were little, our mother died when we were little, which is why we joined the Navy. So it's just him and me. No one else." He had the feeling Killian might like her - and maybe overwhelm her a little with his open welcome to her. About that he had no doubt.

When Liam spoke of how the bird might be a gull or something of the like, Emma gave him a small smile. She knew that he was likely jesting, and his chuckle proved that to her. He mentioned that it was indeed quail, and that the cook had gotten it from one of the shops. She feigned a disappointed sigh, and she placed a hand on her hip. "Well, drat.. I was having a craving for gull..." Her expression suddenly turned in to one of amusement, complete with a sly grin. "I can't wait to try it." In fact, she was doing so as quickly as possible. Until she caught the scent of the food, she didn't realize just how hungry she had been. She began to eat, while listening to him speaking of his brother.. and how he was all that Liam had. She was happy that they had each other..but it was sad that they had no parents. "I'll have a brother, then. I've always wanted a sibling. Is he married as well?" She assumed he was either older and had a wife already, or he was the youngest since she was betrothed now to Liam. "I can't wait to meet him."
The food..was absolutely delicious. She was in absolute heaven thanks to the taste of the meal that was provided to her. It was close to her heart, because it tasted like...home. Something that she wouldn't taste again.. or, rather, something that she thought she wouldn't taste again. Thanks to Liam, she not only had word that her parents were safe - so she could at least know that for now - and she was able to eat food that tasted close enough to the land that she hailed from, that it made her feel a little bit more comforted by this whole thing. "Dinner is incredible. It tastes just like home. I'll be honest, Liam.. this is far better than I'd expected. It was a long way from my Kingdom to here, and I had a lot of..thoughts. Coming here. Before I arrived.. my imagination had you as a rather horrible monster of a man." She quietly laughed. "I can't apologize enough. My imagination was -incredibly- wrong. You're kind.. you're generous.. and you're handsome. I'm thanking my lucky stars every moment I get to spend with you."

“He is married, only recently actually.” The wedding had been a bit of a shock to Liam, given the fact, that he had had feelings for Killians wife once. But with the political marriage to protect the princess, well there was no chance for him to ever act upon those feelings and of course she loved Killian and he her. There was no way he could be so selfish. Now he was married with a beautiful wife. Hopefully the two women would get along. “I would suspect you and her, Elizabeth, would get along. You will live in the same household.” And why she, Emma, would naturally be female head of the household, but they did not need formalities here. Elizabeth and Emma could both be friends. He’d have to make her understand, slowly. Her situation was the reason why he felt in no way insulted by what she said.
“You don’t have your lucky stars to thank, but your parents and my Queen.” It was just as simple. “Your parents wanted you to marry for love, I think you know that. As the situation would not allow for that, they wanted nothing but your absolute safety. Given their insistence that the Queen would find a man, who’d tread you right, there was no way she would have arranged for a marriage to a monster with you.” He didn’t know how much she knew, but he had to be blunt. “Your parents wanted you to be married below your status but to someone, who can physically and strategically protect you. My brother and I can do that. We have ships at our disposal, we can protect you from harm, but most importantly, from the Evil Queens point of view you marrying below status would be you relinquishing your claim to the throne – not from your parents point of view. So chances are she’ll leave you alone. They would have never given you to a man who’d treat you wrongly.”

Emma gave a small nod when Liam spoke of how his brother had recently been married. In this time for Emma, she couldn't help but wonder if his was an arranged marriage as well. It would be something that she was sure she'd learn eventually. It seemed though, that Liam liked his new sister in law enough though, so that was a positive thing. "I'm sure we'll get along wonderfully," she smiled. It wasn't difficult for Emma to get along with other women.. the castle had been filled with servants who were close in age with her, and she got along with them quite well.
Liam had spoke of how her parents would have made sure that she would have never married a monster. They had a plan, and the plan was fulfilled with her marriage to him. She gave him a small smile, and she closed her eyes briefly. "You know.. I never cared much for the title, and the claim to the throne. I just feel sad that the people of my kingdom won't get to have the freedom that they once did. They're good people..every last one of them. And now they're ruled over by Regina." She sighed softly, and opened her eyes once more. "We shouldn't talk about that now, though. This is our wedding night. We should be learning more about one another." She gave him a gentle smile, and she reached out to place her hand over one of his. "It should be a happy night."

“They will get their freedom again and a just ruler.” I might take time, but Liam was sure of that. It was up to them now, to all of them to use whatever power they had left to regain the throne for her parents. And as such the alliance forged with their kingdom now was valuable, as was the one forged in Arendelle. “Let me just phrase it one way: A storm is brewing, Emma. A storm is brewing for her and it might be a matter of time before it hits, but it will.” It would all be done thoroughly with as little collateral damage as possible. The most scheming was done by people around them, not by them themselves, so Regina would not be able to follow it back to them. One day he’d see his wife be crown princess again.
“Then, tell me about yourself, princess. I know a few things about princess Emma, but next to nothing about Emma to woman.” He was quite aware of how different the two concepts were. She was a princess, but the princess was a representative for the public, not necessarily the woman before him. “What do you enjoy doing?” He hoped whatever it was, they could provide her with, so she could be happy at their home, however restricting it was.

Moment by moment, Emma was feeling more and more at ease in the presence of her new husband.. especially when he assured her that things would take a turn for the better.. One day. She was sure that he was right, but it definitely helped to have someone be optimistic along with her. "I believe you're right Liam.. and thank you for making me feel better by assuring me that it will happen one day." She gave him a warm smile. He then asked her to tell him more about herself. Well, that was something she wasn't used to doing. "Okay, um, let's see.. I love horseback riding, and listening to stories. The more dramatic and extravagant, the better." she mused with a grin. "I don't have any secrets.. what you see is what you get with me." She had no place to be stuck up and acting like she was better than anyone. Even if she was the crowned Princess still, she wouldn't be like that.
In fact, it was instilled on her at a very young age to never act like some spoiled snob. "What about you, Liam? Is there any deep dark secrets I should know about you? Confessions that you'd like to make?" She asked with a small grin. Of course she was merely teasing, but she did want to know more about him. She was pleasantly surprised that she was enjoying his company so much. She had been worried, briefly..but now, she felt silly for being so nervous. As she spoke to him, she placed her hand over his, and lightly stroked it with her thumb, showing that she was comfortable being close with him.

“Stories and horses can be acquired.” In fact they were ridiculously easy for them to get access to, thanks to Killians wife. “Killians wife is noble born, her parents life close by, she still goes to see them and since they were all for the union of her and Killian, I assume they will have no problem of welcoming you into the extended family. They have so many books and horses. I am sure the two of you will enjoy many rides together, so will we.” When he was home he would gladly take her riding. Even their horse would be a possibility, though it was more a working horse, a gentle, lazy beast. Liam stared at her hand, feeling strangely good about this. He was enchanted by this princess, his princess actually.
“I’m terribly stubborn and strict.” He admitted, not really meaning it. He still smiled. Of course he knew he was, but was it a bad thing? “My brother and I were left alone at a very young age, he was just a kid, so I had to raise him all by myself. I will be strict, but fair. And I will tease him merciless and he me. You can expect us to bicker and mock-fight but usually you can ignore out fights. We come in a package. Always have, always will.”
