Katalina Leila Watson didn't know what could possibly have gone wrong with discussing her confession to her father Stewart. She was in love with a pirate! She couldn't understand what was so difficult about that.
The nobleman seemed to stare a bit dumbfounded at her. Then pure rage set in. He started yelling at her about how she was not raised that way. "I am tired of being told how to live my life, Father! I love him and I am going to travel with him, to see the world!"
That did not settle well with Kat's father and she cringed and tried to intervene when her father whipped out his sword and swung. However, Reese stopped her a second before the sword cut off his head and Kat stood, horrified. The nobleman stepped toward her but she backed away. "You are not my father. You are a killer!"
Almost as if he didn't hear Kat, Stewart pronounced that she would die for her sins and that was when she took off. She didn't look back as she headed to the docks. She saw a ship that looked like it was ready to depart and she snuck in as quick as she could. Hiding behind the pegs until the ship moved, she tensed.
Finally feeling the movement, Katalina tried not to break down. If her father taught her anything, it was tears were a sign of weakness. She relaxed more as the ship moved. She didn't think she'd be caught so she paid no mind to footsteps. The pegs were full and she could slip out before anyone detected her. Or at least she thought...

what are you DOING ABOARD MY SHIP Killian was just returning from a wonderful night at the tavern -- which had led to a woman's bedroom. And now, it was quite late at night, or extremely early in the morning -- depending on how one looked at it. It was time to return to the Jolly Roger and set sail to their next adventure. He boarded the ship along with his crew as they started to make preparations to leave. He moved to the steering and began to turn the ship whichever way he wanted . . . as they had no set destination in mind. That was part of the joys of being a pirate; one never knew what adventure awaited them. The weather was quite agreeable which led to a swift departure as soon enough, they were well away from the land until they were completely surrounded by water. Just how Killian liked it.
The crew began to clean the deck, ensuring that the ship remained in good shape. Killian may be a pirate but he wasn't going to live in a filthy environment. "Keep heading this way, lads," he instructed them, before he began to head to his quarters. While the crew were moving around the ship, a discovery broke the otherwise calm and relaxed mood on board. "Oye! What 'ave we 'ere!" One of them exclaimed as he grabbed a girl by the hair, dragging her to her feet. "Get the Cap'n!" He instructed, keeping a firm grip on her while the others gathered around to see what happened. Another couple men came and grabbed her by either arm while the one who discovered her just stared curiously at the stranger.
Killian hurried on deck and eyed the young, unfamiliar woman. He slightly raised an eyebrow as he began to step closer toward her. "Well, well, what do we have here." What the bloody hell was a woman doing on his ship? He continued to move closer until he was standing directly in front of the woman. He slightly leaned forward, lowering his head so that they were somewhat on eye level. "Aren't you a little too much . . . " As he spoke his eyes began to slowly trail over her body, purposely meant to cause any woman discomfort as they lingered on her more womanly attributes. "Woman, to be on my ship?" He finished, his eyes returning to her face, as a lewd smile spread on his lips. She was here among them, seemingly on purpose, so really . . . what did she expect?

Of course Katalina had to think it was quiet enough for her, because boy she was in trouble now. She felt a rough hand in her hair and she gave a shout, attempting to fight against the three, but to no avail. The pirates had caught her. They called the captain over and honestly she thought it would have been an older fellow than the one that came over. She glared at him, not ready to give defeat, when he asked her if she was too woman for this ship all while checking out her attributes, as it were.
Katalina chuckled a bit, amused and not in the least afraid. Either way now she was going to die, but she would be reunited with Reese soon enough. "Depends on your point of view, but you gotta admit this view is a lot better than the crew, I mean view you have within the ship."
She smiled in the face of danger now for the first time in her life, and Katalina didn't waver. She wasn't shy about her body, either. In fact, she was rather blunt. "So, Cap. Are you going to throw me overboard? I'm just a woman who is trying to get away from someone that is currently on that shore you just left, and surely you can appreciate the fact that this woman happened to sneak on your ship without anyone's detection. Fancy that."
Yes, Kat knew that she was probably pushing buttons, but it no longer mattered. None of it mattered. They all died in the end...

what are you DOING ABOARD MY SHIP Killian watched her as she chuckled at his words, though he remained unfazed. She then asked if he was going to throw her over board, and an amused smile spread on the pirate's lips. She spoke of how she was trying to get away from someone on the shore they had recently departed from . . . and mentioned that he should be impressed that she was so easily able to get on his ship. Was he impressed? Hardly. "You think you're the first to sneak onto my ship?" He questioned, amused by this prospect. "No lass. It's more impressive to see how long people survive on my ship." Those who were not on his crew. Because, well, not many of them did. He either did throw them over board or well, kill them in a fight. It was quite simple really. And they certainly didn't take little run away girls who were trying to escape their lives.
"Now why would I throw you overboard. It would be such a waste for a pretty little think like yourself," he told her, his words holding clear crude insinuations. He leaned forward a little more toward her, smirking, before he stood straight once more. "Instead, I think I will give you to my men, and let them have some fun." His words were responded to with cheers and chuckles. With that, Killian turned around and began to walk away, though continued to speak. "Unless of course you give me a reason to not let them have you," he added, giving her a chance . . . though not promising her anything. There were things that could happen to a person that were worse than death; for it was the haunting memories that could be most torturous.

Gonna raise my head gonna stand my ground hey
Katalina Leila Watson was definitely in a predicament, but she wasn't about to let that stop her. She was no longer afraid to die, but she didn't want her father to do it. She knew that if the pirates decided to kill her, it would be slow and torturous but she found that she would prefer that over watching her father kill her. She looked at the captain in the eye, showing no fear. "That's pretty sad that people can just sneak on board." She bit her tongue after that, not wanting to add the fact that she didn't really want to survive anyway, so the pirates would be doing her a favor.
The insinuation the pirate said had no affect on Katalina, and she smiled. "You like what you see, don't you?" She watched as he straightened out, having the courage to run her eyes over him. He was a rather cute pirate, but he was no Reese. The thought of Reese made her feel like she wanted to cry, so she quickly pushed that thought aside. This was her life now, always on the run. Maybe it would be short-lived. Then the captain said that he was going to give her to his men and she rolled her eyes at the cheers and chuckles. The crew were definitely some crude men, but if that's what she had to do to survive, then so be it.
Of course when the Captain seemed to give her a chance to make a deal, she was surprised. Katalina had considered using parley, but maybe she wouldn't have to. These were pirates, so they didn't have to listen to her, but the fact that the captain allowed her a chance was a big deal. She felt a corner of her mouth tug before she responded. "Why give me to your men? Aren't you the captain? I could warm your bunk when you go in for a break from steering or whenever you wanted to, really." Yes, it did occur to the woman that she was pretty much selling her body to a pirate, but her modesty and care for it went out the window the second Reese's body slumped dead to the ground.
Another thought occurred to Katalina Watson and she met him in the eye again. "And if that isn't enough for you, I can cook and clean. I'm sure the food I prepare will be a lot better than the rubbish that you eat now." Granted, she had one final card to play, and she knew that this could be the deal-breaker.
"Look, if you just take me to where I need to go, I have tons of treasure that I could lead you to. Unless, of course, you're the type of pirates that don't enjoy treasure." She tilted her head a bit. "So what say you, Captain?"

what are you DOING ABOARD MY SHIP Sad? Not in the slightest. "Try flattering," he corrected. "For it shows just how many people wish to have an audience with the infamous Captain Killian Jones. Sadly, not all of them live to tell the tale." What was one or two people sneaking aboard the ship? Killian had taken down far more. Besides, he had an entire crew -- and himself -- and those intruders were had a massive disadvantage, for they did not know the boat as well as Killian. Not to mention that they were often discovered when they'd set sail, or planning to, at which point, no one would be able to hear them scream or come to their aid. So why should he concern himself with intruders? They were always caught, and dealt with accordingly. This instance being no exception to that.
She then asked if he liked what he said and Killian just continued to smirk. "What I see, is a dead woman talking. For it is apparent that you, lass, have a death wish." Otherwise, no one would dare mouth off to a pirate like this unless they no longer afraid of the one ultimate fear that most people had: death. She then began to offer herself, not to the crew, but to him, and that caused an expression of sheer amusement to spread over his face as he chuckled at the very notion of that. Was she truly saying this? It didn't even seem like she was joking. He was not the only one amused as the crew roared with laughter over her offer. This was quite interesting. A woman bargaining for her life, by offering to keep his bed warm. "And what makes you think I want you?" He asked her. "Are you that desperate for me that you're willing to offer yourself so freely?" He further inquired, somewhat rhetorically. He was far too amused by this and it was evident in the way he taunted her.
"Don't make it sound like you'd be doing me any favors, love," he continued on. "For I have been with many a women. It would take quite a bit to impress me when it comes to more, vigorous activities to engage in." Another round of laughter, for Killian was enjoying this. "And you hardly look experienced, thus, are incapable of meeting this standard." Whether she had her virtue or not, Killian was making jabs at it. Perhaps she was a prostitute and the person after her was an angry, unsatisfied client of hers. Who else would offer her body so willingly? "Sorry. Not interested," he stated, clearly rejecting her. He then turned once again and began to walk away, hearing her call out another offer to cook and clean for him. "Not interested!" He called back dismissively, without even turning his head, he kept walking.
She then said the one word that caused him to pause. Yes. That was it. The buzz word. He turned around to look at her once more. It was of course very possible that she was just saying this, for it was no secret that pirates sought treasure and she was clearly desperate enough to offer whatever she could to remain on his ship. But he also was aware of the fact that they had far less to lose than she did. If she was wrong, it could cost her her life -- which she didn't seem to care about anyway, but it would make no difference to them to dispose of her and then raid the tavern and whatever loot they could find there. Without or without her promises. He began to walk up to her once again.
"And what kind of treasure would you be referring to?" Meaning, what kind, the content, how much, and so on. And of course the most important question, why would she want to give it to them. He then leaned toward her once again, clearly invading her personal space. "I warn you, lass, it would be most unwise to trick me. So you best tell me the truth, or you will suffer the consequences if we discover you have led us on a fools errand," he said, his tone now less playful and more serious with a hint of threat in it. He did not take too kind to such trickery. He killed people for less.

Gonna raise my head gonna stand my ground hey
Katalina had to take a couple deep breaths in order to remain calm, and she knew she had to in order to keep from getting killed. Though, in all honesty, she didn't even know if she cared. It seemed to show with how she talked back to the captain every chance she got. When the man mentioned something about flattering, she actually barked out a laugh. "Oh, I'm sure." It was probably unwise to laugh in the face of the Captain, but like mentioned, she wasn't sure if she wanted to live anymore. Not since what happened mere minutes ago.
Yes, maybe Kat had a death wish, but what did it matter to him if she had one or not? Like he said, not many lived to tell the tale. The place she wanted to go was where she last saw her mother. And that was where she was going to take her life anyway. She wasn't going to have anything worth living for, anyway. "What does it matter to you if I have a death wish or not? Besides, you were the one looking at my female attributes, anyway."
Sadly, Katalina's first offer backfired, and she was quite insulted by his words. She huffed. "Oh, you'd be surprised what I could do to your dick." Not the best word choice, but she let words fall out and deal with the consequences later. "Besides," she continued. "Why should the crew have extra perks? Who's in charge here? You, or the crew?" She knew that she was aiming for his pride, but she was here for a reason. She just wanted to go to the place she really wanted to call home before claiming her own life, but if she died sooner, that was just as well. Nobody would miss her now, anyway.
Katalina had nobody anymore. She was truly alone, and she didn't want to live like that. It destroyed people, and she had seen that once before. She did find it ironic that if the captain decided to kill her right then and there, then she would be killed by a pirate, and she had been in love with a pirate. Irony had that strange way of appearing in someone's life, after all.
The offer to cook and clean didn't work either, and Katalina wasn't surprised by that one. He was walking away from her now, and her glare that she was shooting at him could throw daggers if she'd had the power to. But the one word that stopped him was treasure. She'd give him everything she had when they got to her destination, and her mother had a whole safe full of treasure for when Katalina needed it. It was the very last thing that her mother did before she'd died and her father told her about it. "Tell your men to let me go first, and then we'll talk out the details, but I assure you, Captain, it is a lot. It would take your crew more than one trip each to get it on your ship."
When the Captain threatened her, Katalina just shrugged. "Why would I want to lie? I have nothing to gain from lying. I am offering you all of my gold that I have just to travel to one place. That doesn't sem unfair to you, does it?"

what are you DOING ABOARD MY SHIP She questioned why it mattered to him if she had a death wish or not. "It doesn't," he answered bluntly. He had no idea who this stranger was and nor did he have any desire to get to know her better. She was a pest on his ship and the sooner he taught her a lesson -- or disposed of her -- the better. She then told him that he'd be surprised at what she could do to his . . . bloody hell. Had she really just used that word? Hook just stared at her with a slightly raised eyebrow while the crewmen chuckled at the term. "I don't quite trust you with that," he said mockingly toward her, but not without truth. She looked to be a woman who had little experience in the act of physical intimacy even though she spoke rather bluntly.
She then went then on to speak of extra perks, questioning who was in charge and whether it was the crew or himself. "As I said, I have a certain, standard. And you are far beneath it. Not sure you even qualify as a perk," he added, his men laughing at Killian's insult toward the girl. He didn't care that he was criticizing her in ways that a true gentleman would never do. He was no gentleman, and he had no reason to be kind to her. She told him to order his men to let her go, but Killian remained silent, instructing them to do no such thing.
"For a tiny little thing, you certainly are demanding," he taunted. "I do not take orders from anyone, least of all you, lass. Why don't you start telling me the details and the perhaps I will consider letting you go." Her 'demand' made him more stubborn to ensure he did not comply with it. He wasn't about to do her any favors. Though he did have to admit, the thought of having so much treasure certainly was an appealing one. But he still was unsure whether he actually believed her or not.
She inquired as to why she would lie; how she had nothing to gain from it. "On the contrary, you have every reason to lie considering your unfavorable position." Meaning, she was outnumbered and overpowered. "You are at a far greater disadvantage so you would have ever reason to lie in attempt to convince me to take you where you want to go." That was what this was about then. He wasn't about to go there for false incentive. "Tell me, how does a woman like you come to have so much treasure that she is so willing to just, give away?" There had to be a reason; Killian was no fool. No one just gave away treasure like that. There was more to it.

The nerves of these men! Katalina's back was really beginning to hurt, the way she was scrunched up. And the captain insulted her libido, too. She snorted, not even knowing why she chose this ship to go on to, this crew and captain to give her things to. She silenced herself on the comments about sex. That was fine; she didn't want him anyway.
Rather than speak the truth, Katalina tried to think of a way to get around it. "If you must know, I'm tired of being held down by inanimate objects. So I'm getting rid of it all." She was not about to tell them the truth, and she rolled her eyes. "Will you please tell your men to get off of me? I really don't like being bent this way when it's not sex." She strained to straighten herself up, just wanting to be in a normal position again, looking up at him.
"I've heard of trickery pirates do. I'm not going to be a fool and just tell you where to go without striking a deal. No, if you let me travel with you, I will show you the way to my...what is it you call it, loot?"

what are you DOING ABOARD MY SHIP She spoke of being tired of being burdened by . . . loot? Really? Who the devil would feel tied down by wealth? What an absurd reason, which led Killian to believe there was more to the story. Ordinarily he wouldn't have cared, but he had to because if he was going to the destination she said, there damn well be a good reason for it. "Tired of treasure?" He asked mockingly, a few chuckles emerging from his crew, for the mere thought made absolutely no sense.
"And why is that?" What could the reason be that she no longer wanted treasure? Then again, this was all based on the assumption that she actually had something to give him. She then told him to tell his men to get off of her as she didn't like being forced in this position . . . and then made a crude comparison to physical relations. "Oh, well since you said please, how can I possibly reject such a polite request?" He questioned rhetorically, his voice thick with sarcasm and amusement, which again, caused his men to laugh and none of them to release their hold on her. He was of course not being serious. He didn't care if she was uncomfortable. In fact, the less comfortable she was, the better. This was no joy ride for her. She was still an intruder on his ship, and therefore, his prisoner.
"I'm growing tired of your demands and assumptions," he told her, moving toward her as his hand grazed her cheek before moving it to her chin, forcing it to tilt upward. "Start off my telling me what direction we're going, and then I'll decide whether you will have food to eat during the journey, or spend it in the dungeon with nothing." He was not going to make a deal under her terms. No. It would be under his for he was the one in charge on his ship. "Savvy?" He added, his words not debatable.

Katalina was getting pretty aggravated, and she honestly didn't know why she was trying so hard to give treasure to these undeserving men. Maybe it was that she had no one to give to, but she still could find other ways to get to where she wanted to go. She had a feeling her lie wasn't going to work, but she had to try. "I lost someone today. Do you really wish to go into this further? I'm just done with it all."
This pirate was really beginning to piss Katalina off, and her head hurt from the whole thing. It took quite a bit for the woman to keep her composure and not stray from her goal. She forced a smile. "Could you possibly ask them to at least let go of my hair? Please?" Yeah, she didn't expect to get this request either, but having her hair released would at least get her to be able to move her head.
He was growing tired of her requests and demands? Really? She refrained from rolling her eyes at that, but when his hand tipped her chin upwards, she looked him in the eye, the loss of Reese and her emotion from that showing in her dark brown eyes. She didn't expect anyone to understand; they probably never lost someone they truly cared about, but she didn't know them. When he said to give him a direction and then he'd decide if he would put her in a cell or whatnot. "You want to go north." She was tired of fighting, and honestly she didn't care where she stayed or if she had food. The whole point of this was to die, so they'd just be helping her if they didn't feed her.

what are you DOING ABOARD MY SHIP She revealed that she lost someone today. Who? She did not say. Nor was Killian bothered enough to ask . . . not out of concern anyway. He knew what it was to lose someone you loved; it was after all his brother's loss that had sparked this entire rebellion against the laws of the lands and engaged them in a life of piracy. But obviously, he was not about to address that. He merely smirked at her words, unsympathetic to them. "It seems that your loss is my gain then," he said coldly, making it clear that he enjoyed the fact that he was benefiting from her loss.
He ignored her request yet again, waiting for her to answer his question about which direction they should be heading it. Finally, she did so, stating that they were to go north. He smirked, gave a small wink and then lowered his hand, looking to his crew man who had taken over the steering for the time being. "We're heading North lads!" He announced as the crew cheered at this direction toward their destination of what better be treasure in all that she promised. Taking a step back from her, Killian gave a small nod and the man gripping her hair released her with enough force to send her to the ground. "What's your name, lass?" Killian asked, looking down at her.

Katalina felt a flood of relief wash through her when the man told her that her loss was his gain, they seemed to make a bargain. She was going to get her wish after all. She didn't care how badly she was treated anymore, she'd accepted it. "I guess so."
Suddenly she felt the floor of the ship hit her body, and Katalina resisted the urge to cry out and hit one of the men. She knew that it probably wouldn't make any difference anymore, but they were headed to where she wanted to go. She'd leave this earth, and the only despairing thought about that was that nobody was going to miss her. She'd be the one person that no one cared to look for. Except her father, who was going to kill her anyways.
Katalina was tugged out of her thoughts when the captain asked for her name, and called her lass. Both of these surprised her, and she looked up at him as she sat up. "Katalina. I go by Kat for short, Captain."

what are you DOING ABOARD MY SHIP She revealed that her name was Katalina -- or well, Kat -- and Killian raised an eyebrow at this as he eyed her. "Kat?" He repeated, playing on the word a little, and referring more to the animal in his next words. "You look more like a . . . kitten," he stated, his words causing his crewman to laugh at the taunt, as Killian himself smirked with amusement. He was of course saying this based on her size and overall demeanor.
He then took a couple of steps towards her. "Listen here now, Kitten. If I come to discover that you are leading me on a fruitless journey, then I assure you, death will be a welcome relief for you." His words were no longer amused as they were filled with threat. Though he wouldn't actually carry it out, there were worse fates than death . . . especially for a woman. He then held out his hand expectantly toward one of his men, and they knew exactly what he was silently demanding: a piece of rope.
Killian then too said rope and proceeded to bind Katalina's hands in front of her, his eyes locked onto hers as his lips curved upwards in an amused smile. "Can't take any changes. Not even with an little kitten such as yourself." He had learned not to underestimate women. She was petite and therefore, quick -- she had sneaked on his ship after all. Best keep her as hindered and confined as possible. One could never be too careful these days.

Katalina felt the urge to slap him right on the face for calling her Kitten, but she didn't. Instead she narrowed her eyes and laughed a little. Then she abruptly stopped and then replied, "It's not Kitten. It's Kat." She emphasized on the word Kat, trying to get the point across to the pirate captain. She wasn't a kitten, nor really was she a cat, but Kat fit her better than Kitten did, in her honest opinion. And it was important to her to be called either by her name or the nickname that she chose.
Of course, being accused of lying again, and Kat had to roll her eyes at the threat. She got it crystal clear all right. Though she didn't say anything, she simply nodded.
