Cordelia had several reasons to go to this party. First, was her best friend and brother figure Sky. No doubt he'd be there with his significant other, unless of course they were still hiding out from her father.. and secondly, Zale Elam. It was difficult for Cordelia to not fall in love with the former eel, even though he was the last person she'd ever though she'd end up with. However, there were also reasons she should have just stayed home. For instance, it was HALLOWEEN. Only the absolutely most terrifying worst night EVER. Ghosts, goblins, demons, creepy crawlies..this is when they all ran amok! And Cordelia was kind of a scardey fish. Still though, she managed to get together a costume - one that she was sure Sky would find absolutely hilarious - and she went to the address that was on the flyer that she had recieved in her mailbox.
Unfortunately, when she showed up, it was so much worse than what her imagination had been thinking up. The poor girl was trembling in her little aquamarine flats as she stared up at the large mansion that was known around Storybrooke to be abandoned because it was haunted. "Y-you can do this. Look at all of those people. Th-they're all safe! You're a girl, you're not a guppy." She took a deep breath, and she started to step forward. As she got closer to the creepy house, she could hear music playing, along with spooky sounds that could be heard over the music. She swallowed hard, and reached out for the handle of the door. When she pulled it open, she was both terrified and happy to see that there were plenty of people here. Even though they were dressed in creepy costumes, and half of them scared the hell out of her.
So far she didn't see anyone she recognized - but then again, how could she recognize anyone in a place like this? And so she shuffled toward the refreshment table where she would stay for now, feeling like a fish out of water.
Costuuuume here!

A Halloween party. Ashleigh wasn't sure this was the best of ideas. She wasn't usually very friendly with many of the townspeople, and she wasn't really the type of person who was very outgoing in these types of situations. But, what could it hurt? Ashleigh was still getting used to the whole human thing, and had never been to a costume party before. Apparently everyone just dressed up like something scary, or like from something back at home. A lot of people seemed to go all out, while others sort of gave it half a try. Ash was pretty sure she fell into the latter category.
She had meandered into one of the hand me down shops in the town square earlier in the day and had grabbed a pair of wings and a headband with antennas. Ashleigh had wondered if maybe she should put a bit more effort into the costume itself, but honestly she hadn't felt the want for it.
Once she arrived at the party, Ash was a bit amazed at the lengths that everyone had go to, to actually dress up. She walked over towards the refreshment table and instantly she saw Cordelia. She was quite bright and poofy. Ashleigh smiled and hopped over jumping up on hr friends back. "Hey there Finny!"

Cordelia wasn't paying attention to anything aside from the snacks laid out on the table that were supposed to look akin to eyeballs, brains, and other gross bodyparts. She wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to eat them or throw up. So, when someone leaped on to her back, it made her scream and spin around quickly. "Something's on me! SOMETHING'S ON ME!" She cried out, only to realize that she was looking like an absolute idiot, cause it was only her friend Ashleigh on her back. She stood still, slumping, and breathing heavily. "I.. I knew it was you the entire time. Seriously! I did.. I was just.. playing the role. of...being scared!"
About Cordelia..she was a horrible liar. "..Okay, so maybe I thought you were a giant bug.." She twirled around and hugged Ashleigh with a smile, happy to see a familiar face. "You look great, though!" She beamed. Ashleigh was always so pretty, even with wings and antenna. "Did you just get here?" She asked, grabbing two cups and getting the two of them some punch, trying desperately to avoid the disgusting little garnishes that were decorating the punch bowl. So gross.

Ashleigh couldn't help but laugh a bit as her friend seemed to go insane thinking there was a creature on her. She hopped off Cordelia's back and just sort of stood behind her for a second trying to hide her giggles. But once Cordelia turned around a fibbed that she knew it was Ash the whole time, she couldn't keep her laughter in any longer and it blurted out. "What lies you tell! You had no idea it was me." Finally Ashleigh stopped laughing and shook her head. Having a nice time and genuine laughter was usually always something she could rely on wth Cordelia. Her friend was just usually such a bubble of energy and fun.
Ashleigh smiled and nodded. "I won't tell anyone. I'll stick the playing the role of being scared story." She joked and then reached up awkwardly to feel on the antennas on her head. She honestly felt so weird even trying to dress up. Everyone else had put it so much more effort. So she just shrugged her shoulders and looked over at the table for a moment. It was covered in makeshift eyeballs and brains and the like. "Gross, did the dark one supply the decorations?" She joked. She nodded at her question and looked around at the crowd. "I wasn't even sure I would come. But then I thought I'd probably regret it in the morning. What about you?" She nudged her friend and smiled. "Hoping to run into that weird twin you seem to be spending a lot of time with?"

Cordelia huffed. Ashleigh knew her too well. At least she was willing to play along. Cordelia gave her a warm, appreciative smile. "It's sweet of you to pretend that i'm not terrified of everything." She teased. Ever since Cordelia could remember, even while she was still swimming in the sea, everything spooked her. She was very easily scared and there were a few merpeople who liked to take advantage of that. Ashleigh, however, was always kind to her. As Cordelia got the two of them something to drink, she noticed that Ashleigh was grossed out by the table decorations as well. "I know! They're so nasty." She scrunched up her nose, and held a cup out to the girl that was filled with a red punch, that was probably meant to look like blood. "Although I doubt it was the dark one. Everything would be covered in leather in that case."
She lifted her own cup to her lips, and nearly spit out what was in her mouth when asked about the 'twin she had been spending time with.' "Zale? I mean.. I... I don't really know if this is his scene or anything.." she muttered, suddenly feeling her cheeks becoming a little warmer than they should have at that time. "And you know, of course I wanted to see you and my friend Sky... If Zale were to show up, that would be cool I guess, but.. i could care. Care less. You know?" She was stumbling and tripping over her words like crazy. And repeating herself a lot. She really was an awful liar.

Ashleigh laughed a bit when Cordelia spoke. It was true, her friend did seem to frighten rather easily. But, Cordelia seemed to be the type that was able to be brave when she needed to be. Which was all that mattered. She was a good friend, and had a good heart, and Ash found it cute that she seemed to spook so easily. She gladly accepted the drink Cordelia brought over and took a sip. It was some sort of red fruit punch or something. Ashleigh was kind of surprised no one decided to spike the punch bowl or something. But then again, here in Storybrooke if anyone decided to spike the punch it would probably be with a magic potion of some sort and not alcohol. Ashleigh laughed again and nodded. "Oh you're right. Definitely would be leather." She wondered if it was wise to speak of the dark one like this. But it wasn't like they were saying her name or anything. "I wonder if she has any Savior left in her?" She contemplated aloud. Ashleigh would be lying if she said she wasn't enjoying watching Hook's new girlfriend of the month change into something new that cause him pain.
"Well you're here, it could be his scene for you." She gave her friend a teasing look. She smirked at the sight of Cordelia's cheeks turning a hot pink that seemed to just become more red as the time went by. Her smirk only grew as her friend began to babble about not really caring, though it was as though her words were just mumbling together. "Really? So you wouldn't care if he just so happened to show up?"

Truth be told, Cordelia was a little nervous talking about the Dark One. What if she showed up? What if she flayed her? WHAT IF SHE TURNED HER IN TO FISH STICKS?! But...no...she never mentioned a name, and neither did Ashleigh..so they should be safe, right? ..right? "I'm sure she does....somewhere. Not everyone who's bad are completely evil. Unless they're like, really really mean.. and then I have to wonder." She pursed her lips, and fell in to a state of deep concentration on what the line is between good and bad. That wasn't the point of the conversation, but Cordelia's mind tended to wander. She was brought back to reality, when the talk of Zale Elam began.
It seemed that Ashleigh could see right through Cordelia, knowing that the reason why the girl was floundering was because she couldn't fib very well at all. "You think?" She asked a little too hopefully when Ashleigh said that this could be Zale's scene...for her. "I mean, not that it matters....or nothin.." And then she was asked the question..would she really not care if he showed up? She gasped. "Why? Is he here? Did you see him?" Her eyes went wide, and her cheeks flushed pink. She was panicked just enough to not realize that Ashleigh was just asking a question.

Ashleigh could see the fight happening within Cordelia. Her eyes widening and then panic forming for just a split second before it got snuffed out. Her friend was truly one of the most adorable people she knew. And she always seemed to help Ash smile, which was nice. She nodded though as Cordelia then spoke, putting her two cents in about the Savior slash dark one slash Emma Swan slash Former sheriff. Boy...she had been a lot of things. "We've all had a little darkness in us at one point." Ashleigh sighed as she thought back. He mind thinking of more personal things that hit home for her specifically. She had once been a not so nice person, she was sure if the Dark one ripped her heart out there would more than just a speck of darkness in it. But, she had been trying to change. So maybe there was hope for the Savior yet.
Ashleigh eyed her friend, giving her a look before playfully rolling her eyes. She sighed jokingly before shaking her head. "Right. Totally believable. Not. I mean that wouldn't even work on someone who didn't know you." She joked and shook her head. "No no...he's not here miss I don't care I could care less." She smirked and then it softened turning into a smile. "So you like him, big deal? Maybe..you should talk to him. He doesn't seem the type to bother with anyone if he didn't have a interest in them." She was speaking from an observant civilian point of view only, considering she didn't know the guy personally.

Even though Ashleigh's comment about everyone having darkness in them didn't fall on deaf ears, Cordelia honestly had trouble thinking of bad things she had done. It then made her go on a different track of thought, and she wondered if maybe she was a bit...dull since she'd never really done anything that would consider her having darkness within her. "I guess we do," she said in a not-so-confident tone. The Savior had a lot to lose.. more, perhaps, than any of the former Dark Ones from the past.. But she didn't know much about any of them, so she couldn't say that for sure.. but Cordelia believed int he goodness of people. Maybe a little too much.
Much to Cordelia's not so secret dismay, Zale was not at the party. However, she was absolutely busted. Cordelia sighed and pursed her lips. "Fine...you're right.. I like him. Like, a lot.. but well, i'm not really his speed. Remember how you said that we all have darkness in us? I don't even know if I do! I'm.. actually kind of afraid of the dark actually. And Zale.. he's.. kind of a bad boy. But he's so handsome, and he makes me feel all goosebumpy!" She huffed. "What do you do when you like boys, Ashleigh? I need advice.."
