if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS Hook watched her with a slight smile as she consumed the remains of the beverage -- which was a significant amount for someone to take in if they were not used to drinking. But alas, she had done it, and had even thanked him in the end as she wiped away the tears caused by the sting of the drink. He remained silent for a few moments, not yet reaching for the other bottle to open. He then suddenly rose to his feet, taking the now empty bottle in his hand.
"Stand up," he instructed, taking a few steps to the side. He was now standing, facing a wall, clear of any books or shelves. Just a blank space, where she would not have to worry about ruining any of her books -- for everyone knew her love for books and the value she placed on them. "Go ahead, throw it," he said, holding out the bottle for her to yet take. He knew from experience, that there was a great satisfaction in throwing a breakable object, and hearing the smashing of it. He was continuing to help her in releasing that anger that was surely festering inside. Throwing bottles or any glass items was a fantastic way of doing that, or at least Hook thought so.

Belle felt somewhat woozy though she rather liked the feeling. It was easier to keep her mind off all that had happened if she was concerned with the burn of alcohol down her throat and not sliding off her desk. She peered at him with curiosity as Killian requested that she get up. She stood, holding onto the edge of the desk slightly for balance. She took a small step toward him, feeling a little dizzy at the movement.
"Throw it?" she repeated, a crease forming between her brows. She observed the empty bottle in his hand. She was rather tempted at throwing the item. She imagined it would feel good to cause destruction; no one would get hurt, no feelings bruised. She took it from him, her fingers brushing up against the skin of his flesh hand. She wrapped her fingers firmly about the neck of the bottle, looking down at the contrast between the glass and her painted nails. She looked at the wall, rage filling her as she considered all that she'd been put through.
Hefting the bottle she stood to watch as it collided with the wall. It shattered upon impact, making a satisfying crunching sound. Shards of broken bottle glass fell to the floor causing her to smile in glee. The simple act made her feel better than she could have imagined.
"How did you know that would help?" she inquired, turning toward him with a rather excited grin upon her lips. It felt good to release some of the emotions that had been building up.

if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS Killian watched her as she almost hesitantly took the bottle, questioning his words. She seemed to mull it over for a moment, before giving in and throwing it against the wall, causing it to shatter into pieces. He gave an impressed nod at her actions, seeing the amount of force that had been put into the gesture.
The smile that then formed on her lips, was precisely what he had been hoping for. Better even. She then questioned how he knew it would make her feel better, and he smiled confidently. "Personal experience," he said playfully, though it was true. The amount of rum bottles he had destroyed . . . well, he knew how good it could feel.
"Unfortunately, I don't have anymore glass objects on me, however, we can start on that second bottle there and soon enough, we'll have something else for you to throw." He turned to face her, suddenly realizing how close they were standing, or perhaps he had moved closer to her. Either way, he made no attempt to move back. Instead, he just looked at her, a slightly suggestive gleam in his eye and a smirk playing on his lips. "What do you say, love?" He asked in a low voice, wondering just how long she was willing, or wanted, to spend in his company.

Belle looked back at the mess that the bottle had made, faintly realizing that she had to clean it up later. She figured that was a thought best saved for another time. She looked back at him when he spoke again, her breath catching in her chest as she took in their proximity. She'd never been overly friendly with men before. As a noblewoman she'd been shielded from dalliances that a peasant woman might encounter or pursue. Her betrothed, though egotistical, had not placed her purity at risk during their engagement. The only time she'd been intimate with a man had been during her courtship and brief marriage with Rumpelstiltskin.
She vaguely recalled him speaking, realizing that he must be waiting for an answer. Not wanting to appear a simpleton she strove to come up with a reply. Her eyes alighted on the second bottle. "Well, it would be a waste to ruin a perfectly good, full bottle," she grinned, looking back up at him. She moved to retrieve it, giving herself the chance to take a deep breath in order to clear her head. She held it out to him to open as he seemed to have opened the previous one effortlessly.

if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS Killian couldn't agree more. It was unthinkable to waste a perfectly good bottle of drink. He smiled, his eyes following her as she went to get the other bottle of tequila, holding it out to him to open. He took it in his hand, bringing the bottle to his lips and placing it between his teeth, where he easily opened it, spitting the cap to the floor, uncaring of where it went.
He did not however take a sip right away. Instead, he continued to smile, taking a small step toward her and instead of handing her the bottle, raised it to her lips, offering to hold it as she drank from it,holding the bottle from the top. "After you," he offered, giving her the opportunity to take it should she feel uncomfortable . . . or play along with his actions of offering to tilt it into her mouth for her.

Belle watched as he uncorked the bottle before approaching her. She expected him to hand it to her or even take a swig himself. Instead he held it close to her mouth in an offering to tilt the liquid in. Normally she wouldn't entertain such an idea. It seemed terribly intimate, in her opinion. Yet the buzz of the already consumed alcohol dampened any embarrassment she may have had.
Carefully she opened her mouth for him, accepting the liquid. Once she had enough she placed a hand on the bottle to tip it back up, swallowing the alcohol. She took a deep breath after, realizing that she'd kept her eyes steadily on his as she'd drank. She was aware that her cheeks must be tinged pink, most likely from the consumed alcohol and from the flustered feeling he was inspiring in her. She found that she didn't mind it at all.
"That's better," she noted, glad that they hadn't thrown the full bottle. The tequila would have been annoying to clean the next day from the wall and floor.

if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS She took him up on his offer, parting her lips as he carefully tilted the bottle so that the content of it could easily go into her mouth. With his hand clutching the narrow top of the bottle, his fingers lightly brushed against her lips during this action. All the while, a smile continued to play on his lips, further encouraged by the way a blush touched her cheeks. It seemed that the two of them had locked gaze upon one another during this gesture, and when she had enough to fill her mouth, she moved the bottle back down before stating that it was better.
He didn't immediately take a sip of the drink, but instead, decided to tease her a little by testing her boldness. "Are you not going to return the favor?" He asked with a hint of a smirk and slight flirtation in his voice, of course referring to her own holding of the bottle and offering him drink from it while it was in her hands. He merely wished to create, or rather continue, whatever playful mood had seemed to be created. Besides, Hook's own flirtations toward her were becoming less . . . subtle. How could he refrain when in the presence of a beautiful woman. Regardless of who she was or what ties she had . . . none of that mattered. Tonight, it seemed that they were both ignoring the world outside, and just enjoying good drink and good company.

Belle felt her lips tingle, having felt the brushing of his fingers against the tender flesh. Again she was reminded of how intimate the act was though she supposed it meant nothing. She estimated that the pirate must still hold a torch for Emma despite her being with Neal. She felt her heart ache for him; his first love had been killed before his eyes, and his second taken away. She briefly wondered why both she and Killian weren't awarded the happy endings that nearly everyone else in the town had. She felt that they both deserved it.
She chuckled at his question. "I suppose it's only fair," she teased, shifting her grip on the bottle. She tipped it to his lips, holding it for him. After she set the bottle down on the desk, observing the liquid. "It's odd, isn't it?" she asked. "I thought...I thought we were supposed to all find our happy endings. But it seems to be a lie rather than a promise."
A frown marred her features as she thought over the idea. She realized belatedly how morose it sounded. "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to bring down the mood," she chuckled, raking a hand through her hair. "It's just been on my mind for a while." She moved back to the desk, hefting herself up to sit atop it once more.

if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS Hook smiled when she did indeed return the favor, seeming fairly casual in lifting the bottle to his lips to offer him a drink. He took a rather large gulp, his eyes remaining on her the entire time. As he swallowed the liquid, she moved to set it back on he table, and it gave him the opportunity to quickly clear his mind as there was now a little distance between them. He wasn't sure what was slowly taking over . . . perhaps the same thing that always did whenever he was in the presence of an exquisite woman. That, and the fact that their conversation revealed they had something in common . . . a thought that was reinforced by her next words, speaking of how they had been promised a happy ending.
The smile, or well smirk, reformed on Killian's lips as he turned to look at her, seeing that she was sitting on the edge of the desk now. "I lass, am forever branded a villain; and we villains don't get happy endings, savvy." He didn't need anyone to convince him otherwise. Regina had once said it to him, and now, after having lost Emma . . . he believed it. Hell, he had lost three loves of his life: Milah, Emma, and the Jolly Roger. This was not the life or fate of someone who was going to get a happy ending, and Hook had to make peace with that. Which was why he said with words were amusement, rather than bitter sadness. He wasn't about to seek out sympathy nor have anyone tell him he was good and deserved a happy ending.
"You on the other hand, love, will get yours." Of that he was certain, for she was far more pure of heart than he . . . than many others. He took a step toward her, having told himself he was going for the drink but paused before taking it. "It may not have been with The Crocodile, but doesn't mean you won't find it." Hook had 200 years of failure, though from what he knew about Belle's life . . . having been held prisoner for so long and now this with Rumple, well, he could hardly blame her for being so wary of getting her happy ending. "Or that it won't find you," he added on with a bit of an encouraging smile.

The weight of his gaze upon her when she'd offered him the bottle had sent a shiver down her spine. She'd done her best to suppress it, thankfully having chosen to sit upon the desk at the time of it. She wasn't sure where the reaction came from. It hadn't been one of fear for she surely was not afraid of him. It was an unfamiliar feeling altogether. Belle placed her hands in her lap as she listened to him speak. She scoffed as he called himself a villain. "You're hardly a villain," she corrected him lightly. "You've changed. Haven't you realized?"
She laced her fingers together in her lap, eyes momentarily ducking down to them. "I thought Rumple wasn't a villain but my observation turned out to be incorrect." She peered up at him from her spot on the desk. "But you certainly are not. You've...you've done plenty to counteract that title." Belle wished for him to know that he should not write himself off as he'd done.
She smiled as she observed him. "I fully believe you'll find love as well. One with such a heart as yours surely will."

if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS She assured him that he was not a villain; that he had changed. He liked to think he had, and part of him felt a bit comforted to know that she recognized the change. Mainly because . . . well, he had been far from kind to her. He hadn't freed her from imprisonment when he had the chance, he had tried to capture her, he had shot her . . . ah yes. So many things he had done because of who she was affiliated with. But alas, that was the past. It still made him feel a little better to know she believed him to be reformed. Even if he knew it may not be enough to gain a happy ending.
"Thank you for the vote of confidence," he said with a wink, his words not that of sarcasm, but nor was he going to voice his disagreement. She spoke of how she had thought Rumple had changed, how she had thought him to be reformed when in actuality . . . he hadn't been. Hook took another step toward her, standing rather closely in front of her as she was still seated on the desk. "The Crocodile is a damn fool for not seeing what he had in front of him." Love. It made a person want to be better; it was after all his love for Emma that had made him become reformed and strive to be a better man.
How could Rumple take such a thing for granted? It went back to how he didn't deserve Belle's love, or anyone's for that matter with how he kept abusing and using it. "Don't think you were wrong for believing in him. He was wrong for all he had done to you." And others, but right now, he was focusing on her of course because he had done the most damage to the woman who loved him. One who had given him plenty of chances and he took advantage of every single one. She then spoke of how she was certain he would find love again. "I suppose its four times the charm, eh," he said jokingly, not wanting to dampen the mood with his own heartache when he was attempting to put hers at ease.
"If you believe that about me, then you have to believe it about yourself." Because her heart was far more deserving than his. "Let's drink to it," he said, leaning toward the bottle, though doing so in such a manner that caused him to be quite close to her, leaning against her for a moment as his hand gripped the bottle, pulling it toward him. "To finding our happy ever afters," he said, raising the bottle and taking a large swig of the drink before offering it to her.
"And until then, finding what pleasures we can in this world," he added on, his voice suggestive as he felt a strange lust star to fill him. With how close they were standing, and perhaps the drink starting to ability to think rationally. He didn't know. All he was aware of was that the words came out with a less than subtle meaning, and he did not regret saying them.

Belle wished her husband realized all that Killian was telling her. She would be infinitely happy had he done so. She imagined she wouldn't be sitting in an empty library with a pirate, drinking tequila to drown her sorrows if her husband had truly reformed. For some reason this scenario, though not ideal, was not as bad as pictured. She found that she was surprisingly comfortable with Killian, though he did make her feel a little odd. Not a terrible oddness.....she couldn't comprehend it herself. Her breath caught as he leaned against her momentarily in order to retrieve the bottle. She exhaled slowly after, urging herself to get a grip.
He was a dashing man, that was true. Yet she assumed he was only being polite to her. She knew he'd loved Emma quite a bit. She was still married, at least she assumed, leaving her not free for liaisons. She blinked, wondering when the idea of a liaison had entered her mind.
She covered her inner battle with a smile as she took the bottle. "To finding our happily ever afters," she repeated with a grin. She took a swig of the bottle, not even noticing the burn that the alcohol made as she swallowed. She kept her hands wrapped around the neck of the bottle as she rested it in her lap. Her eyes locked onto his as he mentioned taking a hold of pleasures. She wondered if she was reading too far into his words. "I've learned that you need to take happy moments when you can grab them," she smiled a bit forlornly. "So I suppose you're right."

if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS She joined his toast, took a drink, and then further agreed with his words of having to find the happy moments where they good. "Aye," he began to say, agreeing with her words, but offering another idea along with them. "But there is a difference between happiness and pleasure." Happiness, with how their world seemed to describe it . . . was long term. Achieved by being with your loved one, finding your happily ever after with them. That, did not seem like it was going to anytime in the very near future for them. Belle would need time to heal from her husband's betrayal, and Hook . . . well, he still doubted he would find his at all.
What he was starting to suggest, was not finding happily ever after . . . but rather, a way to help ease the pain, even if it was just for a night. And he knew, that his judgment was starting to become impaired, though he made no attempt to stop himself. "Happiness is long term," he began to say. He then slowly leaned forward, until his lips were against her ear, speaking directly into it with a low voice. "Pleasure however, does not take as long to achieve," he stated, his lips brushing against her earlobe. He knew that this would either make or break the night. She was either going to grow angry at him for this advance and clear suggestion . . . or there would be a few moments where she may consider it, which Hook would use to try and convince her.

Belle tensed for a moment as he neared her, speaking near her ear. She quickly relaxed as she found she rather liked him that close to her. He had a distinct scent, so different than her husband's expensive cologne. She'd read about aphrodisiacs before; was his scent one of them? Her mind felt fuzzy from the nearness of his lips and the alcohol coursing through her. She inhaled sharply as she felt the soft flesh of his lips brush against the skin of her ear. The simple touch left a trail of heat upon her skin.
Belle would never have considered such a pairing while married to Rumpelstiltskin. Hook was....different. Different than any man she'd come across. He was undeniably different than her husband. She shivered in response to his touch though it had nothing to do with the temperature of the room but rather the proximity of his body.
"Not long at all," she murmured. She inhaled deeply, wondering if that would help to clear her head. If anything it made her feel more intoxicated, not by the alcohol but by him. "But it should still be taken when available."

if your heart CAN BE BROKEN IT MEANS IT STILL WORKS She wasn't pushing him away, or yelling at him . . . in fact, her words were the quite the opposite, providing the most ideal outcome and served as the only encouragement that Hook needed. His lips curved into a smile upon hearing her say that such moments should be taken when available. "I couldn't agree more love," he stated in full agreement. His lips moved from her ear to her neck, creating a trail of kisses along her skin.
The softness of her skin was sensational, and he found himself rather enjoying the feel of his lips against her neck. His hand wandered down to her knee, finding the end of her skirt as he tucked his hand underneath it, skimming against her inner thigh, though it was still covered with the tights she wore underneath. Using the point of his hook, he created a rip on the tights down along her other leg, ensuring not to pierce her skin. And now that he had the opening, he used his hand to rip away the fabric of it so that he could finally feel the bare skin of her leg.
