This wasn't just a coincidence.
As Elizabeth roamed through this terrifying town with it's fast vehicles that she didn't understand, and the shocked faces on the townsfolk when their loved ones returned to them, she could tell that this.. this was meant to happen. Was everyone chosen? Or was it at random? The only person she knew was Killian, and he was still trying to process things, she was certain. She too, needed to process what she was feeling.. and so, she navigated herself to the Storybrook cemetery. It was morbid of her, perhaps, but she wanted to know exactly what she was dealing with here.
It was strangely.. empty. There were a few graves.. none of them were disturbed. That answered one of her questions.. they weren't the living dead. This was something..different. She knelt down beside a tree near the tombstones. They all looked kept up nicely..these people were cared about. Was this so bad then, to return to their loved ones? Perhaps this was something other than malice. It could have been... a miracle. Of course, Elizabeth had yet to see such a miracle. She was awaiting the return of someone that could have possibly not come back at all.
She still dared to wonder.. Could Liam return from the dead?

The outskirts of this town were much easier to understand than the center. Graves rarely changed in cultures. The concept of them were usually the same, only the architecture changing over time and within cultures, but burials were burials and cemetery ground were hallow grounds no matter what culture. Never would Liam have thought that he’d like the sight of a cemetery, not even in death. But things and perspectives changed with the passing of time. So now a cemetery was the perfect place for an unchanged man, frozen by death and only recently being allowed to breathe the clean air – or not so clean air – of the land of the living again.
Normally he would not have expected to find someone here. Who would want to spend their time here? Who but the one person, who usually tended to think similar to him. His soulmate. Liam would recognize this shape anywhere, the flowing hair, the way she held herself. He knew her, he loved her. And she was here. When he died, he knew he wouldn’t ever see her again as he tried to hold his brothers gaze, finding comfort in not being alone, even as the life got drained from him. Now Liam was proven wrong in this assumption. Without a word, as silent as possible, he approached his beautiful Liz. He slid his arms around her perfect waist and pulled her against his strong chest.
“Elizabeth, my love. I missed you.”

Elizabeth was completely lost in thought. She was suddenly spun, and greeted by a pair of arms wrapping around her her. She gasped when she looked in to the eyes of the man who's embrace she was locked in. It was Liam. He was here. "Liam," She breathed, and suddenly flung her arms around him, hugging him tightly. She inhaled. He still carried the scent with him as he always had. Evidently when the dead were brought back, the attributes they had before death were carried over. How she had missed that scent.. By the time she met her end, his jacket that she had kept with her had all but lost that familiar smell.
"I can't believe you're here," She looked up at his face, afraid to close her eyes. She knew that this wasn't a dream by now, so she wanted to savor every moment of being alive and being able to see the face of her beloved again. "I do not know how this is possible, nor do I want to question it. I've missed you more than you could ever imagine.." Tears had welled up in her eyes. She felt as though she'd waited an eternity to be with Liam again..and maybe that's how long it had been.

She felt so real, so perfect in his arms, as if they were born to hold each other. It felt like an ancient dance, too natural to ignore, that this was just right. They belonged into each others arms. On top of it all Liam could feel his heart ache, the pain being so delicious. He never thought he’d ever get to see her again, let alone be able to hold her again, smell her hair, rub her back or just simply gaze at her again. She was, if possible, even more beautiful than he remembered her.
“My love, I can’t believe it either. This seems like the most unlikely and most impossible event to ever occur, but I can not deny I am glad for it. I never expected to see you again, Elizabeth. My last thoughts were with you and Killian and I prayed for your safety. I am so sorry for all of it. So sorry, my love. I missed you.” Liam let go of her. He gently placed his hands on her cheeks, staring into those impossibly beautiful eyes, before finally throwing all sense of protocol to the wind as he leaned down to capture her lips in a soft, longing kiss that was long overdue. After a few moments, he pulled back, but he sure as day was not done kissing her. He’d savor every moment.
“I love you, Elizabeth, and I missed you. Every moment on that damned ship I missed you.” And he had been looking forward to finally getting to marry her, yet it never came to pass. He hoped she at least found someone who made her happy.

Elizabeth had missed his touch, his voice, everything about him. So many days and nights did she imagine this moment, but now that it had come to fruition, she could hardly believe it..and she wanted to savor every moment of it. She didn't bother holding back the tears that were making trails on her cheeks. He managed to say everything that she was feeling when he spoke to her, which was wonderful since she could hardly find words to say in this moment. Never had she felt so much happiness and so much pain at the same time. Pain, because she knew why they were there.. and pain because this was the first time they were together. That meant that they weren't together in the afterlife..not that she could remember, at least. But here he was, with his arms around her..as though none of the horrible things had happened in their past.
When Liam kisssed her, it felt as though the entire world had vanished. As if it were only the two of them. She returned his kiss with the love and passion that she would forever feel for him. Of course the kiss couldn't last forever.. they had to breathe, after all. When Liam ended it, and spoke words of love and how he had missed her, she could feel warmth rushing to her cheeks. He still made her feel like a young girl in love when he said those things to her. "I missed you every moment I drew breath, Liam," she spoke in a soft, trembling voice. "I love you. Whatever is happening here is nothing short of a miracle.. I can't believe it is malicious because it brought us together again.." She lifted a hand, and lightly brushed her palm over his cheek. "You look just as you did the last day I saw your face," she mused, finding it harder to compose herself from being thrown in to a fit of sobs. "The most handsome man I've ever laid eyes on."

“Whatever this miracle, my love, I shall be grateful for it.” It brought them back together. It gave them a chance to spend some short minutes together and maybe even get the goodbye they were denied before. He prayed at least for this. She deserved so much more than to be told one morning, that the man she was meant to marry had died on his last journey before they wanted to promise their life to each other. It still left a deep ache in his heart to know he caused her pain.
“Oh Elizabeth.” He whispered as he moved to push a few strands of her silky hair behind her ear again. He was at a loss of what to say to that. Liam hardly considered himself handsome, but how could he deny this beautys judgement of his features? She did know so much more about beauty than he ever did and would. “I died shortly after you last saw me, my love. I am just glad you did not have to see me then.” At least she was spared that pain. It was bad enough that Killian had to endure it – twice.
“My love, how did you fare?” He just needed to know. Maybe she had found new love. Actually, he hoped she did. He hoped she found love, had a family, got everything she ever wanted after he passed and could not give it to her.

It felt as though nothing had happened. That this was centuries ago, and they were happy and free without a care in the world.. But she was quickly reminded of it when he spoke of how he had died not long after she had last seen him. Although she knew this, it was still hard to hear. "I know," she spoke with a soft whisper, gently brushing her thumb against his cheek. "And it tore me apart." She knew it wasn't what he wanted to hear. She didn't want him to feel any sort of guilt.. None of this was his fault.
In fact, she was going to keep her fate to herself, but when he asked, she could not bring herself to lie. Instead, she stared in to his eyes for a long moment, arguing with herself of whether or not to change the subject. Knowing Liam, they would round back on it once more. "I died not long after you saw me last as well, Liam..." She admitted, feeling her stomach suddenly clenching. "I saw Killian, a year after you had passed. I was still mourning you, every day. Killian had.." She paused, closing her eyes. "He was no longer the man I knew. I couldn't take the pain of losing my betrothed and the man I see as a brother.." She felt her throat tighten. She didn't want to say it, but couldn't prolong it.
"I went to a cliff, and leaped to meet my fate." She closed her eyes, and her eyelashes were soon dripping with tears. She couldn't look at him.. she was ashamed. She knew this wasn't what he would have wanted.

It felt like it was a physical punch to his stomach, like the poison was once again firmly gripping his heart, killing him once more as he learnt of the fate of the woman he loved. He had hoped, so badly, she would carry on, she would find new love, if not in his brother and have the family she longed for, the wedding she deserved and of course the husband she deserved. He had hoped she would have gotten it all and now he learnt she had gotten nothing, instead had taken her life, because… because she could not live in a world where she lost them both. She had seen no hope.
“Elizabeth…” His voice was a mere whisper, shock and pain evident in them. He never wanted for this to happen. He never wanted her to suffer like this and once more he felt like it was his fault. Because if his brother changed after his death, it could be influenced by his death. Knowing him it probably was. He caused them both pain. They both mourned and it changed Killian, of course it did. The sum of it all was caused by him. He killed her. In a way he killed her. It was his fault.
“I am… so sorry. I never meant… I did not want to do this to you, to both of you. I trusted in the wrong person. I was stubborn, I paid the price, but neither of you should have had to pay this price. I am so sorry.”

Elizabeth had never seen that look on Liam's face before. It was such a look of severe pain that it nearly took Elizabeth's breath away. "Liam," she spoke with a trembling voice, filled with ache for making Liam's heart break. "Please.. do not blame yourself. I was.. I was very weak. In a world without your light, I suffered in complete darkness. Although you trusted the wrong people, that does not make it your fault. Never, ever blame yourself for my peril.." both of her hands now cupped his face as she stared in to his eyes.. Those eyes that made her heart kickstart in to high gear every time he looked at her with them. "We are here together.. Now. That is all that matters.."
She knew it likely wouldn't make things any better for him. That he would still feel guilty. But she hoped that it would be less painful for him if he knew that she didn't blame him. That no one blamed him. "Killian did change.. but he was angry. He held no blame in you.. I know that, and you have to know that as well. But the two of you need to have that conversation, and you can, because he is here." Her lips curved in to a small smile. "I've seen him.. he had asked about you, but then, I.. I didn't know you were here." She breathed a sigh. "Oh, Liam.. please do not be upset. I beg of you.." She lifted herself on to her tip toes, and she captured his lips in a gentle, tender kiss. She couldn't get enough of those kisses.. it had been far too long since she'd felt his touch.

“How could I not blame myself, Elizabeth? This was caused by my ill judgment. This was caused by me abandoning you, while I promised, to both of you that I wouldn’t.” And yet he had done it. He had trusted someone over his brothers judgment. How stupid was that, please? How could he have ever done that? He was so dumb, so stupid.
“Of course he did not blame me. He blamed himself. He blamed himself for not being able to stop him. You know this idiot, I know him. He blamed himself!” And again Liam should have been there to stop that. He should have told his brother to stop blaming himself right after he saved him. He should have made sure there was no doubt in this thick head of his brother. But of course he thought he’d survive this. He hadn’t expected his death, despite the poison. He really had been stupid.
“I know he is here.” It was the first thing that caused him to smile right then. He should hammer this into Killians head once he got to meet him. And he had a few more words to exchange with him. “I have met the woman he’s in love with. She mentioned him.” Liam kissed her back softly, knowing he never wanted this to stop. How could he ever let go of her again? She was the love of his life! “I am here and so are you. We get more time. Together and with Killian. And now even with his Emma. She seems to be a great lass.”

This was bound to come up eventually.. she supposed, in the back of her mind, that it was best that it happened now so that he could let his anger out. He was blaming himself, just as Killian had indeed blamed his own self as well. It didn't matter who pointed fingers..it was in the past. The only one at fault was their King, who lied to get them to Neverland to retrieve the Dreamshade. "Liam," she spoke in a soft voice, trying to soothe him. "What is done is done.. the best thing we can do now is to look ahead, and forge a new destiny, while we once again have breath in our lungs, and beating hearts."
He seemed to lighten at the mention of his brother. He was already told that Killian was here in this land, by no other than the woman whom he loved. Killian had spoken to Elizabeth about Emma, and it brought her great joy to know he had found love, and happiness. "Yes, my love.." her lips curved in to a smile. She suddenly felt joy rushing through her once again. "We have a second chance at life. We must not waste it." In a strange, twisted way, she was almost glad that she had taken her own life.. Because now, she was able to be with Liam, as though nothing had happened so many years ago. "I love you, Liam Jones..I never want to let you go again."

“But this past has left scars on him. I have yet to see him, but I heard his love, I know him. I know him better than myself at times and those scars, they’re bound to be deep, Elizabeth. Killian is… Why am I telling you this, you know him.” She knew him for so long now, she was aware of how his little brother way. She would be one of the people to know how he reacted to tragedy.
The dark haired man wrapped his arms around her once again, still overwhelmed by it all. This was uncomprehendable to him and he would stand by what he had promised Emma, he would fight alongside them, for Killian, but apart from that, he wanted to spend every moment with her, with his brother and his new love. He wanted to get to know her and be sure his brother was in good hands.
“We will not let each other go again, Elizabeth. When we die again, my love, we will die side by side, in each others arms. This time we will meet our fate and the afterlife together. Who knows? Maybe we’re granted a long life now, instead of just a short moment. Either way, I want to make sure we make the most of this chance. We have to. Plus, you can’t tell me you’re not curious about Killians love.”

One thing that Elizabeth always loved, was listening to Liam talk about Killian. The look on his face when he spoke of his little brother.. it was such deep brotherly love. She had siblings..but none of them spoke of her like that, or vice versa. But then again.. all Liam and Killian had growing up was.. one another. Liam finished speaking, and Elizabeth's expression was still soft, and understanding. She knew exactly what he was saying. "Yes.. I do. And I know you, as well. And I know that you won't feel better until you speak to him yourself. I'm sure you will soon." But she couldn't help herself.. she wanted a little time with Liam while they could be alone. She didn't want to be selfish..especially not now...but having him here.. with her.. it was like a miracle that she wasn't ready to let go of just yet.
She didn't want to talk about death..or even think about it.. but it was a nice thought that this time when it was their time, that they'd get to go together.. Although she hoped he was right. That they'd get to live out their lives this time, and they'd be able to get married and have children together like they were supposed to long ago. "I have hope, that we'll be able to live the life we've always wanted. That this will be a second chance." To the subject of Killian's love.. Elizabeth smiled. "And yes.. I'm -incredibly- curious! You must tell me all about her.. Unless of course I meet her for myself, which I certainly hope to. Whomever captured our Killian's heart must certainly be an interesting woman." Killian Jones.. settled down. Who would have ever thought?

“I hope so.” He couldn’t wait, but at the same time he was nervous of it. While he knew time did not leave people the way they were, he hoped his brother was still in essence Killian. Then again nothing in this world could make him stop loving the younger man. Why should he? There was something very important in their relationship, which was their past, the shared past of having to be there for each other. Their relationship was simply unique that way, with him having to be not only big brother but also some form of father – something that cause Liam to still hate the man with a passion. Leaving him was one thing, but Killian? He was so small and innocent, why would he just abandon him on a freaking ship? But that didn’t matter now. What did was to have his love back and maybe to have a second chance. Maybe they lived long enough to finally marry. She deserved it.
“Well I hope you get to meet her, love. She… she is perfect for him as far as I can tell. She is not only a curse breaker, but also the Sherriff of this town. But that’s not even what’s important to me. You should have heard her speak of him, so highly, almost adoringly. She truly loves him. And he loves her. She recognized me, Elizabeth. Can you imagine that? She recognized me, a complete stranger. Killian has spoken to her about me and you know how he is, he keeps what hurts him to himself unless he absolutely trusts someone. And he trusted her enough to tell her about me, in so much detail that she could tell who I was just by looking at me. He loves her.”

Elizabeth was happy that Killian had found love. He deserved it.. He'd lost so much.. it made Elizabeth's heart feel warm to know that he was in love with someone and that it was reciprocated in spades. "I'm glad that he's happy, Liam..and it brings me joy to know that he's carried you with him through all of these years.. but i'm not surprised." She smiled, looking in to Liam's eyes. "He's always spoken so highly of you that a stranger would know you if they met you off the street. It makes sense that his beloved was able to spot you." She moved her hands to his shoulders, and gently over his biceps. "I wonder if he mentioned your dashing charm and breathtaking smile. That would be a sure fire way for someone to recognize you." She gave him a small, teasing wink. Of course she was merely being playful..but she couldn't help it. She loved Liam.. and she had missed the flirtatiousness the two of them had together.
"Liam.." She spoke, suddenly feeling as though something needed to be addressed. "I love you.. I never stopped. And you love me.. but.. do... do you still want to get married? If we...last long enough, that is.." It was a depressing thought, but, if they only had a short time, she very much wanted to spend as much of that time with her as possible. "Because I do... I would marry you a million times over Liam Jones. I can't bare to think of this, or any life without you.."
