Elizabeth's favorite part of the day was when she got to escape the mundane conversations in her household. Sure, there were fun times with her family, but all of the talk of politics got a little drab. But, even if it was a slow day, Piper still managed to run off and out to the beach to spend time with two of her favorite people in the world, Liam and Killian Jones. Today when she ran to the beach, she saw Liam there, but there was no Killian. It was a little surprising, but it wasn't the first time that one of them had shown up but the other hadn't. After all, they had their own lives, just as she had her's. "Liam!" She called, giving him a wave. She took off her shoes, and tossed them to the side before running toward him. She stopped dead in her tracks just a few inches away. "Only half of my favorite duo? What kind of trouble has Killian got himself in to?"
To be completely honest, being alone with Liam made her feel...nervous. In a good way. She always felt a little different about Liam.. something about him made her knees a little weaker. Made her stomach flutter a little more. Made her heart feel...lighter. And as they grew, the feeling grew stronger until it developed in to something far more than merely a crush. She had progressively fallen for Liam, and the only other soul who knew was Killian. "No matter," She spoke, lifting a hand to brush her hair behind her ear. "I'm sure we can think of something exciting to do just the same." She lifted her gaze to his, and found herself chewing on her bottom lip. It wasn't ladylike to chew on anything aside from food.. but, well, she was trying not to be too obvious. Little did she know she was giving herself away more.

Sometimes he questioned with what he deserved his younger brother. Of course the ever so observant Killian had noticed his brothers changing behavior especially towards their friend. And of course Killian had launched into what could be considered motivational speeches to go and try to pursue something more with Elizabeth. Honestly, though, he would have expected his brother to share the same doubts as Liam harbored. What if Elizabeth did not share those feelings? It could make things incredibly awkward between all of them. And then even if they shared their feelings, he was no match for her. She was nobility, he a lowlyborn member of the navy, more of the serving class than the leading class, at least in his mind.
“Elizabeth. No trouble today. He has volunteered to remain in the docks to help get a battered ship back into shape. The crew suffered from enormous losses through a storm.” He wasn’t actually sure of it. Maybe Killian wasn’t there at all and had just chosen this as an excuse to get them to be alone, as he seemed oddly enthusiastic about the idea of Liam wanting more from Elizabeth. And that enthusiasm surely was not born from the desire to see him make a fool of himself. He turned to offer her to walk on his arm, as it was what a gentleman was meant to do and given what should be his intention tonight, he needed to be the perfect gentleman.
“I am sure of that, my dear. No moment spent with a gorgeous lass like you could possibly be boring. Now, how are you? What do you desire to do?” @elizabeth

Something seemed..fishy. And it had Killian's name written all over it. Liam was being an absolute gentleman, which wasn't out of character, but at this time they'd likely be racing or tackling each other in to sand. However, he was offering his arm for her to walk. It was nice.. a walk on the beach with just herself and Liam... could this have been a plan to allow Elizabeth to spend time with him on her own to explore her feelings for the eldest Jones? What ever the case, she was sure that Killian was helping with the boats as an excuse to do... Something. He had his way of being sneaky, and this was likely one of those times.
What ever the case, she was going to enjoy the time with Liam. "Such flattery..I bet you say that to all of the girls, Liam Jones." Elizabeth teased with a playful smile. She lifted a hand, and took his arm. Her other hand lifted the bottom of her dress while she walked on the sand. She very much enjoyed the feeling of the sand on her feet. It was one of her favorite things in the world. "It's a pity that Killian cannot join us, but that would be his way.. Helping those in need. Not that I mind spending the evening with just the two of us, of course."
The atmosphere was beautiful. The sun was getting low, the breeze was light...and while normally it would make for a fun evening of tomfoolery, somehow this almost felt.. Romantic. He asked what she would like to do, and normally that question would be easy. Now, she wasn't sure. This was nice..but they should do..something so her feelings weren't so obvious. "It's getting a little late, perhaps to go sailing..." she mused, thinking aloud. "I'll leave the ideas in your capable hands." She spoke with an amused grin.

“What girls, Elizabeth? I say that only to you.” God, Killian would be so much smoother with this. He was good with women, the perfect gentleman and he knew what to say to please them. Liam? Not so much. In fact he had rather kept to himself than to make a move on any woman, focused more on his career until, well he lost his heart to her. Still it was madness to think she would ever accept him. He didn’t want a marriage of convenience. He wanted love. He wanted respect between the two partners, no titles or anything. Liam knew he was strange that way, but he wanted to be happy. And he wanted his brother to be happy. That was all that mattered, he learnt that when he was left the only guardian of his little brother. It had to be the only thing in his mind, had been next to the thing to motivate him to join the Navy and other things. His spirits were soon crushed, though. Of course, Killian. How could he even for a second think he’d be the desirable one.
“He is a man of honor and a good boy.” He commented almost dryly. Damn it was that jealousy? Of course it was. He had fallen for her, but she probably had fallen for Killian. He couldn’t blame her. His brother was a great young man, active, happy, honorable and handsome. Who could ever blame her for falling for Killian? That possibly meant that his idea was entirely inappropriate as well, but it would be a pity for the food, food that Liam had learnt to honor when he was young and had to feed his brother and himself.
“I have brought a picnic.”, Liam said. “It’s just ahead around the corner. I thought homemade food and the sunset could be a nice way to spend the evening.”

Elizabeth could already feel herself blush when he spoke of her being the only girl. Did he mean that? Or was it just something one would say? She was, after all, the only girl that he spent a large amount of time with.. Maybe she was too eager. Reading too much in to it. There was only one way to find out.. to attempt flirting. In fact, although Elizabeth agreed that Killian was a good, hardworking person, she decided to steer the conversation away from the missing member of their trio for now. "Agreed, but.. If you don't mind, could we maybe talk about Killian another time? I'm rather enjoying spending time with just the eldest Jones brother." She lifted her gaze, and gave him a small smile, trying to look adorable - and hoping she wasn't being too silly about it.
She had wondered day in and day out for many nights, how one would transition from friend to.. more than friend. And as a woman, especially in her standing in society, she was not supposed to make the first move. It wasn't how she was raised.. and so, it was all reliant on Liam, but she had to somehow show interest. She hoped she was doing it well. And..she hoped that he felt the same way. He had explained that he had set up a picnic, and that was enough to show that perhaps.. he really did feel something for her, after all. "That sounds absolutely perfect, Liam."
Sure enough, they soon came across the picnic. He had set up quite the spread for the two of them. "Oh my," she breathed. "You've found the most beautiful spot on the beach I believe." She noted. This would be the perfect setting for romance to ignite, if the spark was indeed there for both Liam, and Elizabeth.

Did she mean that or was it a reaction to his sudden visible discomfort at her focus on Killian? He couldn’t tell, unfortunately he couldn’t see what she was thinking, it would make things so much easier. Maybe he should confront her about the rumors, but he had no right to, no place to ask her about any suitor at all unless she possibly felt the same for him. But a gorgeous woman like that? A lady so far above him in status could never love him. He was her friend, guard perhaps, but that was it.
Once at the picnic site, he made a point to not look at her as he let go of her to busy himself with the basket. He had made sure she would like the food he brought. It was some of her favorite dishes, but durable enough to survive long enough out here – unless the water would have come in unexpectedly. And that was highly unlikely, since he and Killian knew the sea well enough to never be surprised by her changing nature.
“You think?” Did she honestly consider this the best spot? He hoped for. “I arranged for some of your favorite dishes. And this…” No he had not arranged for this. The rose Liam pulled out of the basket was not put there by him, but by someone else, someone who shared his last name. Sneaky bastard! He held it out to her as he knelt there. God this looked almost like a proposal and he was very, very aware of the position his brother had put him in there. He'd have his revenge - maybe. Depending on how this would end.

This certainly wasn't a normal day that she would have with one of the Jones'. They'd had picnics before, sure, but those were in a more friendly and playful manner. This, this felt far too romantic to be playful. She sat down gingerly on the blanket that he had laid out for them, and watched as he rummaged through the basket, explaining that he'd taken the liberty of putting some of her favorite foods together. It was incredibly thoughtful, and it brought a smile to her lips. She was about to thank him, but then she saw him holding a rose. A single, beautiful rose. Was this his move? Was this him trying to tell her that he thought of her more than a friend? Or..common courtesy?
"Liam," she spoke as if someone had taken her breath away. "It's beautiful..." Her smile widened, and she gently took the rose, lifting it to her nose to inhale the scent. Her eyes lifted, and she peered at him from behind her long lashes. "Thank you.. For everything. The evening has only just started and already it's...absolutely perfect." She wasn't sure if she could make it any more clear that she cared for him.. that he was the one she longed for.. unless of course she told him. Liam was always one for protocol and rules, but perhaps she would have to give him more incentive to confess his own feelings for her, if he had them. Lowering the rose, she leaned forward, and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. It wasn't the first time she had kissed Liam's cheek, but this time, her lips lingered a little longer than they normally had.

In all of this, Liam had braced to have his heart broken. What else was he to expect? Could he have gotten lucky? Not in his mind. He had intended to try, to humor Killian a bit, to hold on to this tiny flicker of hope that she could feel something for him. Could this lingering kiss on his cheek be it? Could she feel something? Her words indicated it, in a way. Maybe it was the case. If it was, what was he going to do? Should he speak to her? No, he didn’t have a way to put his feelings into words like his brother did. He could lead, command and negotiate, but those skills were useless here. Killian would be in his element. Killian… he was the solution here. What he would do, would be what he should do probably. He’d lose himself in words, make it awkward. She had taken action, now it was time for him.
Liam moved just this little bit. With his heart hammering nervously in his chest and his throat going dry, it took every bit of courage to him. He placed a hand on her cheek, then slowly pressed his lips to hers, in a first tentative kiss, which he broke way too fast, unsure of how she’d react. He couldn’t even look at her, waiting for what she would do, his eyes focused on those delicious soft lips.

Elizabeth was a little nervous when Liam said nothing. It seemed as though, at first, he was thinking entirely too much. She wanted to speak, to say something.. anything..but she had no idea what to say to encourage him further. Suddenly, all fears and doubts were eliminated, when he made the bold move to kiss her. She instantly felt warmth rushing to her cheeks, signaling that she was blushing. It didn't get much more clear than this. He had feelings for her, just as she did him. The two of them could finally be free to express their love for one another. A smile curved on to her lips when Liam parted the kiss.. it seemed as though since he had made the first move.. it was her turn.
She would have made a joke about how against protocol this was, but the silliness could wait. Now, all she could think about was feeling his lips against her own once more. Her eyes closed, and she closed the small gap between them, capturing his lips with her own. This particular kiss was soft, and tender. She was doing her best to show him years worth of emotion in one simple act.. She'd never been kissed until t his day, and she wouldn't have had it any other way. This sealed it.
She was in love, completely, with Liam Jones.

There could have been no other reaction that would have been as much a clear answer as this one was: She kissed him again, so sweet and tender, he could have just lost himself in her lips and in this unconventional, yet beautiful kiss they shared. By the gods, this was a dream come true. Or was it a dream? Maybe. But it felt too real. Not dream had yet shown him images as clear as this before. It was beautiful, gorgeous and felt like heaven was so very, very close to where he was right now. Once they parted, Liam felt his cheeks heat up, blushing like a young school boy. This was it then.
“I felt for you, for a long time now, Elizabeth. But… I know I am just a Captain. I have so little to offer you, but my heart.” And he had to hope that this could be enough for her. She was an heiress, but maybe she could be the humble lover of a Captain, a trusted soldier of the king, who might potentially climb the ranks further. Maybe a family and love could be enough for her. At the very least, Liam prayed they would be. He loved her and he knew Killian would love to call her sister one day.
"Could you maybe accept a mere Captain as your suitor?"

Elizabeth could hardly believe that this was finally happening. Her heart's wish had come true, and Liam had kissed her. It was no chaste kiss, either. It was a true kiss, filled with love. When the kiss parted, although she longed for another taste of his lips, she was happy to hear the words he had spoke. It seemed that he'd felt this way for some time.. She wondered, only briefly, why he decided that now was when he would make his move. It seemed funny that it would happen now, mere days after she'd confided in Killian with her feelings for Liam. She would have to make a note to hug him, as well as stomp on his foot for that later. For now..her focus was on the eldest Jones brother. "I've felt the same way for you, Liam. I would never want anything more than your love."
Liam was one of the two people who knew that she cared not about wealth, nor status. Her parents may have, but she was sure that they would think even a Captain was worthy of their daughter's hand. After all, he had a rather high notability in the Royal Navy, and as loyal as her family was to the King, they'd likely be happy to offer her to someone in the King's service. "Oh.. Liam.." She spoke, nearly capable to breathe at this point. "You're not just a mere Captain.. You are Liam Jones. Yours is the name my heart calls out for each time it beats. I'd be honored to be courted by you.." Finally.

“Then it shall be done.” They actually agree to it. How weird that felt. She wanted him as he wanted her. Liam could not help it. He had to lean forward to capture her lips in another soft kiss again. His entire body seemed to shake with the happiness of her accepting him, a mere captain, to be the man to court her. Now, the rumors could be true and he would not be bothered by them as the man to court her was him. Then again he did not want this to be the towns talk. He wanted them to enjoy this in silence.
“Then, my love, I believe I have picked the right food and drink for this day. Only your favorites.” As far as possible. Liam motioned to the basket with a grin, as he pulled out the bottle filled with sweet juice out for them. “I don’t know if it still tastes good, but we tried.” As far as they could at least. They were no professional cooks after all. “I think now you know where Killian has excused himself to. I don’t know if he actually is where he says he is. He might be, but he also might not be. Who knows what he’s up to again?”
