It was Queen Snow White's birthday, so naturally, this was ball was a rather huge affair. There had been invitations sent out to many different kingdoms.. Those that belonged to her mother's friends, and those that her father saw as potential allies that he planned to mingle with.Kings, queens, princesses, princes, dukes, duchesses, ladies and lords.The list went on and on. Princess Emma was rather excited about all of this. She enjoyed the luxurious parties, but this was special to her.. It was a masquerade ball. She may have dropped several hints to the Queen about what she thought the ball should be, and apparently she took it to heart. Now, Emma was able to don a beautiful outfit - and for one night, socialize with the citizens of her kingdom and many others as just.. a person.
Of course everyone would know the King and Queen, but out of the sea of attendants, no one would be able to notice the Princess unless she came straight forward with it. The ball was already in full swing, so she had to be careful not to be seen when she walked down the staircase and in to the grand ballroom. She told herself this as she affixed her tiara on the top of her head. Luckily, there would be several people this evening wearing tiaras... even though they weren't royalty, it was just something that went with the costume. She, tonight, would be the Swan Princess.. how fitting, considering it was her middle name that not many people knew of.
As sneaky as possible, the Princess made her entrance. She managed to remain relatively unnoticed, but there were those that knew her anywhere, such as some of her parents' close friends, and of course her mother and father themselves. She wished Snow White a happy birthday, kissed her on the cheek, and she received a hug and a kiss on the side of her head from her father. She then excused herself from the two, and went off to weave through the dancing couples. This would be a wonderful night!
