The original plan had been for Liam to stay relatively close to Henry during the shattered sight spell, to be a bit of a last barrier between whoever might want to harm the child and the child. In the short time Liam had been here already, he had started to understand what Killian meant when he spoke of being fond of Henry. For his age he was surprisingly mature, yet he never lost the charm of a kid, never lost his innocence. Like his brother Liam had been inclined to offer his protection for the boy, but it seemed the former Naval Captain was much easier trusted in this town than his brother, thanks also to said brother. Killian had earned the peoples respect, even though he might not see it himself. Liam knew their new trust for Killian and the growing trust for him, was the basis for their trust in him and he had no intention of letting his brother or any of them down. As it happened, though he did let them down. As the spell hit the hard working Captain gave in to his urges of just RESTING. He overslept almost the entire thing and as it passed he just did not find the strength to get up. Liam had felt it in the past days: The urge to rest grew, his body weakened. He felt dizzy the day after the curse. Too dizzy.
That morning Liam overslept as well. Hell he barely even managed to get up and dressed in time for Emma, Queen Elsa, her sister and soon to be brother in law, as well as the King and Queen leaving the diner in order to get them through some portal to Arendelle. Liam said his goodbyes to them, but to his own surprised refused to join them, instead opting to stay in the diner, telling the savior he was still under the weather. It was not far from the truth, but it just didn’t have anything to do with the spell. What he had was of a different nature. Possibly of a nature he had seen before, but he tried to ignore it, had to ignore it. If it was the same sickness his mother had died off there was nothing he could do, but spare Killian of the worry. It only took a while before Liam fell asleep, sitting in a corner booth.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION The feeling of having his heart back in his chest was indeed a glorious one. Being void of his emotions for so long and under the control of that damn Crocodile had been pure torture -- especially when he was ordered to hurt those he cared about. The second Emma had pushed it back into his chest, his emotions overwhelmed him and it immediately led to a passionate kiss. Whatever embraces they shared had been lacking feeling, emotion, the love that he felt for her. But now, he was able to unleash all that. There was however someone else that Killian needed to desperately see. He still did not understand how it was possible, nor did he care at this point. He just needed to see his brother.
He needed to let what he truly felt for him to pour out, rather than be an empty vessel doing the Dark One's bidding. Hook had been informed that Liam was at Granny's Diner so he rushed over, his eyes quickly surveying the crowd. It didn't take long for him to find his brother, dozed off in a corner booth. He knew in his mind that this was rather unlike him, but all he could focus on was the incredible joy of having him back in his life.
He rushed over to the booth, clearing his throat. "Is this seat taken?" He asked, pretending to be serious for a moment before a smile broke out on his lips. He could not believe this; his brother was here, with him once more! The joy and happiness over such a thing made Killian feel like his overwhelmed heart was going to explode. Without a second thought, he slid onto the spot next to him and despite the awkward angle, he put his arms around his brother and hugged him. "I've missed you, brother," he said closing his eyes, his words such a massive understatement but they were all he had to offer right now.

It felt like being startled awake, the throat clearing alone. His eyes shot open, but focusing was a bit of a struggle. Yet there was only one person in this town dressing like that: All black and a hook, his brother. “Killian.”, he said in a way of greeting his brother. “Of course it’s not taken.” What a stupid question. Oh, wait, had he been joking? His mind still hadn’t caught up with being awake. In fact his entire body felt heavy, sluggish even, like he had no energy left in his body. Like he was completely drained despite basically having slept through the last 24 hours – safe for maybe one or two hours of being awake. Was the Leviathan catching up to him? Were those long term effects? Or was this something else, something he might have seen before.
With a yelp on his lips, he had Killian pull him into an awkward hug, declaring how he missed him. What the hell happened that had his baby brother that overjoyed, he wondered?
“Given that we were apart from almost 3 centuries, a few days can’t be as bad. But I missed you too.” Without even thinking about it, Liam lowered his head to rest on Killians shoulders, allowing his eyes to close once more, while still being awake. He listened to his brothers breathing for a few moments, hoping to find strength in him to match Killians enthusiasm, but instead he just found himself wondering at it, even being slightly irritated by it.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Liam had answered Killian's playfully rhetorical question which only caused him to continue to smile. He then told him that having been apart for three centuries, a few days wasn't as bad. "Trust me brother, sometimes a few days can feel just as long." Especially in his case. He had his heart ripped from him, forced to do the bidding of a vile man, and then having it nearly crushed right before his eyes -- as Milah had. He had never thought he'd have the opportunity to see his brother again.
The first time when Liam died, the second when Killian nearly met his own end. And now, he did not wish to take a single moment for granted. Yet once he spoke the words, Liam moved too rest his head on his brother's shoulder. It caused Killian's eyes to look around with sligh confusion for a moment, before he raised an eyebrow and carefully turned his head to look at his brother, without disrupting his current position. He ignord his question about being happy for he knew something was wrong. Liam had been sleeping when Killian came in and now he was closing his eyes and resting once more.
"Brother, what's wrong?" He asked, directly asking the question. "Are you unwell?" Apart from being resurrected from the dead. Had he been like this since he'd come back? Killian didn't know for he was forced away from his company. But the thought concerned him and now that he had his heart back and was in control of his own actions, he was determined to find out what was plaguing his brother. He refused, absolutely refused to lose him again.
"Look at me," he said gently, turning his body as he moved a hand to his cheek and forced his head up so that he could look directly into his eyes. No. Something was wrong. He knew that from a single gaze. "We need to go to the hospital." Because he would not risk it. The technologies here were rather advanced, and not only that, but there were those within the town who had magic if it was something that could not be healed with medicines. Killian had failed his brother once. He would do so twice.

Liam felt it then and there that something was wrong with his brother. He did not know what, but he was determined to find out about it, as soon as he actually found the strength not to fall asleep again. What the hell was wrong with him? Maybe his body really did not like the strain it was put under and just needed prolonged rest. Or maybe he was sick. If he was, he’d not be surprised if it was the case, given their family history. At least he could hope that Killian did not remember the time their mother got sick. He was so young. He might remember having to take care of her and having to be silent. He even might remember how Liam sometimes snapped at him, but hopefully most of the symptoms have by now faded from his memories. It’s been centuries, but for Liam it was actually still clear: He remembered how the first thing that happened to her was her getting uncharacteristically tired. Back then he was not alarmed yet.
“Nothing is wrong, Killian.” Or maybe something was. He couldn’t tell yet. He had to wait. Maybe it got better. Maybe it would get worse. He had to wait and see and monitor it. For his brothers sake he hoped it was nothing. It seemed like Killian had already been through a lot and maybe he was not yet ready to speak. Liam would not bother to try and force it out of him. It seemed though that Killian was just ahead of him today, making him look at him. Apparently he saw something in him, that Liam could not see himself and it seemed to frighten him.
“Killian, no. We don’t need to go to the hospital. I am just tired. Those past days were trying, nothing to worry about.”Bullshit, he had slept through them, but he hated to worry them.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Liam stated that nothing was wrong, but Killian continued to disbelieve him. He could see it in his eyes, his face, his paled features . . . something wasn't right. His overall energy level was lower than Killian had ever seen it before. He hated the fact that he didn't know what his brother had endured the past few days, for he had not been around him. Not by any choice of his own of course, but that didn't change the fact that he had been absent from his brother's side when he should have been there.
He should have fought harder to resist the damn clutches of the Crocodile. So many had suffered by his hand, and if Liam's condition worsened . . . it was because Killian was not there for him. He couldn't lose him, not again. "We have been through far more trying times, Liam, and I have never seen you like this." Hook tended to trust his gut and right now, it was telling him that not all was well. "If you won't go for yourself, then will you at least go for me," he asked him. For he knew that Liam would do something for his brother, above himself . . . just as Killian would do something for Liam. "Are you going to make me say please?" He asked a bit teasingly. "I'm not really in the habit of it, but you may be forcing my hand." Quite fitting, since he had only one.

“Back then I haven’t endured 300 years in a sea monsters clutches, though. That takes a toll on people” But he had been here for a while now, this was not the case. This was something else and with every passing moment, he felt it more and more. And still, despite having slept for so long, he really really wanted to sleep some more. This could not be normal, Killian was right. And had it been the Leviathan, he would have had it immediately after getting free, but apart from the initial weakness, nothing happened then. This had nothing to do with him. Yet he claimed it for his brother… for his overly worried brother. Or not overly maybe. He seemed downright panicked in a way. To the point where he wanted to say please, almost even beg. That was something new entirely.
“Fine.” What other choice did he have? His brother was really worried he could not deny that fact. He had to allow him to get some peace of mind – even when deep down Liam felt there was none to be had. Whatever they would say, it would not be good news. He pushed Killian a little, signaling for him to get up, to lead the way, but as soon as he tried to get up, he felt the weakness deep in his bones again. With a heavy, painful sigh, he still pushed himself up. He’d manage that way at least. He was no invalid after all. But he had to speak to Killian about this, so he made his way out of the diner – not without nodding to Granny, hoping she’d understand it meant he meant to pay once he returned. Outside he could speak more freely. He felt a bit better too with the fresh air in his lungs. “What do you remember of mothers death?”

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Liam's words were indeed true, that he had not endured 300 years of torture from a vile sea beast . . . but no. That was not all of it. Part of it perhaps, but it certainly wasn't the whole story. "That may be true, but I know there is far more to it," Killian told him confidently. He picked up on his brother's non verbal cue and Killian slid out from the booth, watching his brother display difficulty in getting up.
It caused Killian's heart to grow more fearful at Liam's condition, unsure what it was that was causing him to be so unwell. Was fate really so cruel to have reunited them after over three hundred years only to pull them apart once more? He hovered near his brother, prepared to assist him should he need it. He reached into his pocket and threw a few bills onto the table, figuring it would be enough. He walked alongside his brother as they exited the inn, and Liam's question caused Killian to stop walking for a brief moment. He tried to hurriedly regain his composure, standing alongside his brother once more.
Their mother. A subject that Killian had not spoken of since . . . well, the only one he really spoke of it with was Liam. "Not a great deal," he admitted, trying to keep his voice void of any emotion, but it seemed downright impossible to do it when speaking of Mirela. "I remember that her death was not sudden," he stated. She had been sick, that much he knew. "Why are you asking me this?" Killian questioned with a slightly raised eyebrow. There had to be a reason for his sudden inquiry on a subject that they did not often broach, even when they had been able to.

“You were so young.” Of course he wouldn’t remember it all, probably only the worst parts of it or the parts that broached him the most, like that his mother could no longer play with him, that even Liam had less time for him, that was probably what he remembered the most. The consequences, now that was something else entirely. Liam allowed himself to breathe deeply and lean just a little more heavily on his brother. He hated the tale, hated to remember his mothers struggles to stay awake. He remembered one night, she was deathly pale, but Killian was upset and so she fought sleep so desperately to tell him a story. The next night Liam insisted.
“Because… The first thing we noticed was how tired she got. You hated it, but you were too young to understand. She slept all the time. She grew weaker and weaker, could barely move or get up. When she cut herself her wounds would bleed forever and she started to bruise so easily. I remember… once you hugged her and it left bruises and you were so upset, we could barely console you even though you didn’t do anything wrong, but you thought you hurt her. You didn’t understand it was due to her sickness. The truth is, Killian: I never even noticed Shattered sight hitting the town. I slept through it. I feel like I need to sleep, I feel so weak.” He still kept on walking with his brother. After all they needed to get to that hospital thing. “Killian, nobody could help mother…”
