It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION It appeared that the impossible had finally happened: there was peace in Storybrooke. Well, for the time being anyway. Everyone was just waiting for the next crisis to ensue, but no one stopped their lives. It was actually quite nice to have time to just relax. Hook would have embraced it more had the guilt of what happened to the fairies not been weighing heavily on him. Until they found a way to free the fairies, his mind would never be brought to ease. But alas, he had to remember the good things. Such as his relationship with Emma.
The two were finally able to be together, explore the feelings they had for one another and just casually spend time in each other's company. With that, came a fairly good rapport with her parents as well. Tonight was proof of that. For Killian was on his way to the Chamings' residence . . . not to meet Emma, but to meet David. The two were going to go out for drinks tonight and, bond he supposed. He was not opposed to the idea of course, despite the fact that he was the father of the woman he loved.
The thought rather amused Killian for he had hundreds of years on David, but far be it from the reformed pirate to create strain in their relationship. He was glad that both Mary and David seemed relatively accepting of him. He was not going to do anything to make them regret that. In fact, he and Charming seemed to have come a long way since . . . their initial meetings in Storybrooke and even in Neverland. Upon arriving at their residence, he knocked on the door, clad in his usual attire and ready to head to whichever bar they were attending tonight.

Over the time Hook had proven himself to him, actually even before he knew it was Hook, but that was another matter entirely. What mattered was, that he could slowly trust this man with his daughters’ heart. The half assed attempts of talking to him about his intentions have always resulted in Killian passing every single test with flying colors, once even managing to insult David in the process and that certainly had the man not pissed, but feelings a lot better about all of this. It was more of a silent understanding. Hook was proving himself more and more, but this night had another reason, as well.
He liked Killian, even liked spending time with him, they have come to some sort of friendship, but he was also worried. He had his heart pulled out recently and David hoped to find out through this if he was okay. He certainly hoped so, but if something was wrong, he could maybe see it. And Emma would, since she spent a lot of time with him, for obvious reasons. He did not want to think about what they were doing when she was alone with him at Grannys. Once he heard the knock, David rushed to the door.
“Hook, come in. I’ll be right finished. A certain someone just wants a proper goodbye kiss.” And that was not Emma. He moved to the crib with his son, kissed his forehead and grinned. “Watch out for your mother and sister.” Then it was time to focus on the pirate. “Are you ready, mate?”

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION When he heard David speak to him to allow him entrance, Hook stepped inside their residence. He told him that a certain someone wanted a goodbye kiss and he could tell from the way he said it, who exactly that was. Killian softly smiled as he watched the father place a tender kiss on the baby's forehead, telling him to watch out for his mother and sister. Hook joined the co Sheriff by the crib, standing next to him as he looked down at the precious child. It was impossible to lay sight to baby Neal and not smile.
"It's a very fortunate thing that he looks more like his mother than his father," Killian said with the utmost teasing as he smirked and gave David a playful smack on the back. "I'm quite glad to hear your vocabulary is improving," he teased in return, aware that David often used the pirate vernacular in jest. Though he preferred this tone it was used rather than the initial one . . . when it was more, sarcastic and disapproving. Which he of course could not fault him on. "Ready when you are. Best leave now before the little lad doesn't let you," he further joked. He didn't know what it was to be a father, and the closest he had been was when Milah was pregnant with their child. Another opportunity had been when he met Baelfire. But both those chances, ended it tragedy and disappointment. Hook would not dwell on it now though. He supposed it would happen when it was meant to . . . if it was meant to.

“Don’t say that too loudly, Hook. Your own girlfriend happens to take after me quite a bit. Won’t want her to think you’d prefer her mother, would we.” He chuckled, but secretly, he did not disagree. He loved his son the way he was and his daughter. They were both simply perfect, both of them.
“Honestly? He’s more likely to try and keep you here than me. He somehow adores you. I’m just Dad. I’m just always there. You’re not.” And he was shiny and always nice to him. David had an idea why the baby loved Killian. He did not mind, though. He was quite happy about his son getting along with the man who might stick around for good. His mother, Ruth had said True Love followed her ring and well her ring played a part in Hooks and Emmas love story as well. He’d not be surprised by it anymore.
“Come on then, let’s go. One day, mate, I tell you, your kid will be all over their awesome grandpa, though!” He chuckled as he walked to the door.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook smiled with amusement when David commented that Ema took after him quite a bit. "I don't know about that mate. Not sure you're pretty enough," he teased back. He couldn't help but think how far they had come, and how it came with so much ease for David to refer to Emma as Hook's girlfriend. No comment or gesture of trust from David or Mary Margaret were ones that Hook would take for granted. He worked too hard to take anything for granted. And he was well aware that had it not been for their kind nature . . . well, the dynamic between them would have been quite different.
The comment upon her mother reminded him of his shameless flirtatious remarks on front of David toward Mary Margaret. Yes; how things had changed indeed. "Let's just say we're both fortunate to be with such beautiful women. And I'm sure your son will have the same success." Eventually of course. The pirate felt a sense of pride when David commented on how he was more likely to try and keep Hook here rather than his father.
"I'm more likely to stay here for him than go out with you. But I suppose I already committed to our night out," he said jokingly toward the royal. His next comment brought forth the thought of having a child with Emma, and being all over their -- as he put it -- 'awesome grandpa. The thought caused Hook to give a slight chuckle. "We'll definitely cross that bridge when we get to it. In the meantime, it seems like one baby is sufficient. And I'm quite content being the rather cool and fun one. Just as I was with Henry," he added on teasngly, for Hook was not quick to forget his bonding time with the young boy when he held no memories of Storybrooke.

“I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. Before Neal will ever even look at girls or boys as partners, Henry will bring home his first girlfriend.” And that was Hooks problem to deal with as well. Charming was the grandfather, but Hook was stepping in as another father type figure in Henrys life, there was no doubt about that. When Henry brought home his first girlfriend, Hook would get to witness it and he might have to help deal with his first heartbreak. Then later years after that, Neal might consider going out with someone.
“Ah, yes, how could I forget, you’re really into my children.” David laughed at that. Neal was simply a little charmer already and quite into Hook. He seemed to like his smell as well as how shiny he was and the fact that most of the times when Hook was around, he tried to make him smile one way or another. Killian, for all intends and purposes was already some kind of beloved uncle for the boy.
“Just as you are with Henry.” David made sure the baby was comfortable one last time, before finally tearing himself away. “Come, let’s go, you fun one.” He moved his hands to usher him outside and get going himself. It was time to get to those drinks with their names on and a girl- free evening.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION The thought of Henry bringing home his first girlfriend was . . . well, an interesting thought indeed. "Well hopefully you're easier on her than you were on me," Hook said with sarcastic teasing. He hadn't found David hard on him at all, despite the serious expression he held when Hook and Emma had gone out on their first date.
In fact, Killian had found the entire thing to be rather amusing, though he had refrained from making too many jokes about it . . . until now that is. "He is growing up rather fast, ey," Killian said thinking aloud. Granted, he didn't know the boy as long as most others . . . but he had developed a fondness for him. Unlike the last son from the woman he loved, Henry held a strong belief in people; a strength of heart. Had he not, then he may not have ever accepted Hook into his or his mother's life. But fortunately, the boy was not overly opposed to the idea and had been willing to give him a chance.
Hook grinned as David commented how he was really into his children. "Well can you blame me?" He asked, somewhat rhetorically. It was hard not to be taken by them, of course in completely different ways. David corrected his statement and it caused a brief, soft smile to form on the pirate's lips. "Perhaps the next time we have a lads night out, we shall bring him with us. And of course find a more suitable venue." Rather than one that would involve drinks.
He then was ushered out through the door -- which was probably for the best otherwise Neal may not let them leave. "I'm glad you finally admitted it," he commented with a cheeky smile as he began to descend the stairs. "But I shall give you a chance to redeem your status as a fun one. Where do you suggest we go tonight?" He asked, allowing him the opportunity to choose. "And the Sheriff station and Granny's are not options," he quickly added on.

“Luckily that won’t be my job with Henry. With Henry I can be the benevolent grandpa.” Unless Emma or Hook openly voiced disapproval of the girl, then he’d of course join their sides, knowing he could and should trust their judgements. And as such Hooks observation of Henrys growing was right. He was a teenager now, David expected him to start acting like one every day – the appetite was clearly getting there already. “He is, way too fast. But he’s happy, which is the priority.” And Henry adored his big complicated patchwork family. He loved playing with Neal, never held a grudge on the baby if he kept him up all night – he even inquired if he was alright, if the baby would remain inconsolable, while his mother sometimes just huffed and mumbled and turned, trying to find sleep somehow. He loved Regina, Snow, Belle and Hook. Somehow he even still held a soft spot for Gold.
“No I can’t.” If anyone understood how Hook loved those kids, it would be Charming, since he was hopelessly devoted to the two of them as well. “Hook…. I think you’re on to something. And I know just the thing to do: Next time we pack Henry and Neal and go sailing. What do you say? Not far, just out into the bay. I bet Neal will love the rocking and the sea gulls and to play with you guys. Henry loves sailing anyway.”
David stopped in his tracks. “Why is Grannys no option? She serves drinks as well and… oh, right, because of her and the dwarves, got you. Rabbit Hole, I’d say. Or isn’t there this new pub thing down by the docks? Maybe that one?”
