It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook was in a rather good mood at the moment. Not only because David was still alive but because Emma had just kissed him. She had claimed it was a one time thing, but Hook knew better than that. The kiss was not a simple peck or gentle embrace. It was filled with passion, perhaps stirred by the heat of the moment and the gratitude she felt . . . but it was not lacking feeling. She was starting to let her guard slip around him, and it made him confident that one day . . . he would indeed win her love. He would not do it through trickery, deceit, or any other pirate antics. He would do it with honor, because some women were truly worth fighting for, and she was indeed one of them.
She had told him to wait and collect firewood, to perhaps place distance between them. Or well, he liked to think it was because she needed a few moments to regain her composure after their passionate embrace. He touched his lips, savoring the feeling, soaking in her taste. He exhaled heavily, allowing himself to recover though had a new full wave of motivation consume him. As he walked out toward the path to start collecting firewood, he came across none other than David. He was grateful for his words as well, for without revealing his secret, he had ensured that the others knew Killian was somehow a hero. Hell, he had even drank from his flask. Now that was indeed progress in their building relationship. Or, whatever this could be called. The reality of his situation quickly came back into his mind. "Feeling alright, mate?" He asked, needing to be sure. Because he would not fail David the same way he had failed Liam.

Over the course of time David had encountered many people, some that deserved chances, some that didn’t, but he had never acted towards them as if he did not intend to give them a chance. And even though it was not easy to come to term with, out of the many villains in Storybrooke, Hooks crimes seemed to be the least grave one at least to him and he actually seemed to make a slow, conscious effort. And who was he to judge the reasoning behind them? If it was for someone, why would he judge them, his own change came by the hands of Snow?
“As alright as one can feel, Hook. I’ll live, as you made sure, but… It still has its consequences.” He wasn’t sure he was willing to pay the price, but he had to. In the end all that mattered was him surviving to make sure Henry would be safe and getting home. Everything else didn’t matter at all right now, only saving Henry and protecting his family. “Thank you again.” David was quite aware how Hook did not have to do it, but it showed a lot. Even though he’d probably never approve of the pirate wanting his daughter, he could see that he was at least trying, which was more than could be said about others.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook continued to look at David. He of course looked a hell of a lot better than he had before, but that didn't mean the issue wasn't completely laid to rest. "Which is why you need to tell your wife and daughter. The sooner, the better." Because this wasn't something that he should keep to himself for so long.
It was not Hook's secret to tell, so he wouldn't say anything, but he wasn't going to not try to convince the man to tell his family what was happening. Just as he had tried to tell him when he had gotten poisoned. "Don't thank me just yet made," Hook stated, still feeling like the job was only half done. He still wished there was a way that David could leave the island.
He himself had been trapped here for centuries, and he did not wish such a fate on anyone else. "You can thank me when this is all over, and we've found a way for us, all of us to get the hell off this accursed island." Pan was most likely already aware of the situation . . . and he wouldn't be much help other than to offer some gloating remark.

“Not yet.” He couldn’t tell them. He knew them, Snow more, but he knew Emma as well. There was no way he would tell either of them of the poisoning or that he had to stay on the island. Not for a while. The knowledge of it would throw them ‘off course’ as Hook would probably say. They needed to stay focused on their task of saving Henry. It had to be their priority. Once he was save in his mothers embrace again, then he could allow himself to tell him and distract them with the fact that while they would go home, he would have to stay here.
“Hook, it’s a cheap price to pay for my grandsons safety. I’d die for him. For all of my family. Maybe one day you will feel what that’s like.” Maybe one day he would have a family of his own, sadly Charming would never get to see that, because he was trapped here, for good. But his family would be safe. “Meanwhile I can’t tell them. I can’t risk anything distracting them from the real task at hand: Finding Henry. He has his whole life ahead of him.” And if this was the price they had to pay for that, well so be it. "Are you doing it for her or for him? Or both?"
