The woods were a good enough location to learn how to control her abilities, Emma thought. No one was in the area, there was no electricity to fry, no walls to blow up.. Yep, pretty safe. And if Ingrid insisted on continuing to be a constant part of their lives, Emma knew that she'd have to learn to put a handle on her magic before something really bad happened. She'd already hurt Henry, and she almost hurt David badly.. she knew that she had to find someone who could teach her. Regina could, she supposed, but it was different. She needed someone who understood her, and the one person who knew that was Elsa.
She'd felt a connection with Elsa the first night she met her - even though Elsa almost made Emma freeze to death. It wasn't her fault, though.. if she had a sister, she'd probably have done the same thing that Elsa did. So, she had asked her to join her in the woods for a session on how to control her abilities. She didn't even know everything she could do just yet. "Okay," She stood with her hands at her sides, wiggling her fingers as though she were in the wild west and about to draw a pistol or something. "So far no trees have collapsed on us. I'd say that's a good start right?" she asked, looking sideways at Elsa with a small grin. "So how do you do it? You make it look so easy.."

Elsa just adored Emma. She was almost like a sister to her, but she would never say that out loud because she had a blood sister who was nowhere to be found. Elsa couldn't disrespect her by deciding someone else was a 'sister' not yet. No, she was just going to stick with calling Emma her best friend, that was good enough.
The two had gone into the woods in order for Elsa to help Emma learn how to control her magic. Elsa didn't really consider herself a professional, but she had a lot of practice ever since her powers were revealed to the people of Arendelle. She had really taken a lot of good steps in her life in terms of controlling herself.
Elsa smiled at Emma as she stood in an odd ready stance. "The lack of collapsing trees is indeed a good thing for us,"she chuckled, watching the trees with wide eyes. "Thanks Emma, but it's not easy," she took a few steps forward and turned to face Emma. "The most important thing is to respect that you are flawed, you have to recognize that. But you also have to recognize that those flaws can lead you to recognize your strengths," she began.

Emma had no sisters, so Elsa was the closest thing she had, as well. It was sort of an unspoken thing between the two of them, and she appreciated it immensely. Of course there were others in Storybrooke with magic, but none with so many loved ones without magic who could judge them if things got out of control. It was nice to know that there was someone else that had so much in common with her. It was just.. easy with Elsa, which is why she had asked her to teach her how to control her powers..or at least try to teach her.
"I guess i'm just.. stressed." She breathed, one hand lifting to tunnel through her hair. "Worried about Ingrid and..whatever these stupid ribbons are.." It was affecting her magic, and she wasn't sure why. Everything was confusing, and she couldn't imagine how Elsa was coping with everything. "..I feel like a complete jerk. I'm sorry.. how are you doing Elsa?" Deciding to take a break from the whole magic thing, she took a seat on a stump where a tree once was - that she swore she didn't knock over. "You haven't had a chance to talk about Anna at all the past few days.. And you have a matching ribbon, too." She lifted a hand and shook her wrist lightly. "I feel like I've been acting its all about me...but it's really not.. It's about you just as much.. maybe eve more."

Elsa understood stress, that was certain. First she was supposed to lead an entire kingdom all while keeping her powers a secret, then her powers came to light and she was supposed to lead a whole kingdom while controlling herself. Now she had lost that kingdom and everyone in it. As far as she was concerned, she had majorly botched her job as the Queen of Arendelle.
"You have every right to feel that way Emma," she said soothingly. Then she chuckled a little at Emmas next question, "Oh, I'm feeling just about as good as you are," Elsa sat stood beside where Emma sat on the stump and looked at the ribbon on her own wrist. "This.. is incredibly frustrating, I agree. But don't think you've been making it all about you!"
Truthfully, Elsa had been feeling like SHE wasn't responding to EMMAS feelings. They both did that, where they thought they were being too selfish which really meant that they were caring for the others. Elsa sighed, shrugging her shoulders a little, "we're in this together now, that much is clear. No need to apologize."

Although Emma loved spending time with her family, and Killian, it was nice to just get away from everything else and spend time with Elsa. When Elsa eased her worries that she was making things all about herself, Emma breathed a small sigh of relief. "You're right.. it's incredibly frustrating.. and I think I know what we need." As a thought came to her mind, her lips curved in to a smile.
When Emma needed a stress reliever, she always went to a shooting range. It helped her relieve tension.. and it's exactly what she needed. She couldn't yet control her powers, but she could definitely control a gun. She needed to get that control back..and it might be fun to teach Elsa how to protect herself by using something other than ice powers, should she need to know.
"Feel like trying to shoot a gun?"

Elsa couldn't deny that she was coconcerned when Emma got that mischievous smile on her face. Though, it also made Elsas heart pump with excitement. Her and Emma were so much alike, that no matter what Emma suggested, Elsa would most likely be all for it.
When Emma revealed what her idea was, Elsas eyes widened. "Oh! Um..." she nodded her head and pursed her lips together, accompanied by a shrug, "sure! That could be... quite useful. And you find it stress relieving?" she asked eagerly.

Emma felt the need to have control of herself, and since her powers were so wonky, shooting was the best thing that she could think of. She was relieved, and actually excited when Elsa seemed eager to go with her. "Yes! Absolutely stress relieving." She stood up, and looked around, making sure that everything was still intact, and that no flames had started when she wasn't paying attention from embers that had spilled on the ground after falling from fireworks that she had made in the sky during ability control practicing... and it made her realize that she really did need to get out of these woods as soon as possible. "Alright then! Let's go!"
Of course there wasn't a normal shooting range in Storybrooke until Emma became sheriff, so she had gone out beyond the woods to a very large clearing that was still within Storybrooke's limits and made one herself. It was a location that she'd never shared with anyone, not even her parents. "Here we are," she mused as she paused in the middle of the clearing. There were glass bottles set up on large rocks, and quite a few hay bails that were made in to targets. "You're the first person I've ever showed this to. It's sort of my quiet place where I can go to get away from everyone and just..think."

Heaven knows Elsa needed stress relieving. Though, she never really found violence to be a reliever of stress. But the more she thought about it, it made sense that by taking aim at something and focusing solely on that that ones stress would ddissipate within the thoughts.
Elsa followed Emma to a large clearing with bottled lined up at one end. Elsa nodded and smiled, "I see. Well, I am honored that you are sharing this with me, Emma."She chuckled as she stepped forward to examine the bottles. They didn't seem like anything special... Elsa was starting to doubt their usefulness when the thought hit her. They were going to be shooting the glass.
"Well, when I need to think I usually go to an ice palace I created but... thaaaat's not in Storybrooke," she chuckled, deciding in that moment that she needed a new hideout.

Emma was glad that she was able to share this place with someone else. Of course she enjoyed her alone time when she needed to escape everyone, but she was positive that Elsa wouldn't take the information of where her hiding place was and blab it to anyone. She pulled her pistol from it's place on her belt, and she began to load it while listening to Elsa talk. She laughed when she spoke of building an ice castle when she wanted to be away from everyone. "Uh..yeah, I think an ice castle would be much more noticeable here. There aren't many places to hide in Storybrooke where no one can find you." Emma was lucky that she found this spot..but she honestly figured it wouldn't stay hidden for long. David, Snow, Hook, and Henry always had ways of finding her somehow.
"Okay," she moved over toward Elsa, and she readied the pistol in her hand. "It's going to be loud...just putting that out there. You might wanna make yourself some ice ear muffs or something." It was a joke..but come to think of it... "Wait.. can you actually do that?" She asked with a quirk of a brow. "Because seriously..it's gonna sound like an explosion..and when you're firing this thing, you don't want to wince."

Though Emma probably didn't mean to be cryptic, that comment about having nowhere to hide actually kinda freaked Elsa out. She shuddered a little at the thought, "That's... unfortunate. But, at least you have this! If I like this shooting thing I may have to steal your hide out every once and a while," she chuckled. She already considered creating like an ice cottage in the woods somewhere... but people would just knock and want to see the inside. Or be terrified. Or both at the same time.
Elsa let Emma take control and listened very carefully. She knew that these things were dangerous. At Emmas comment about the ear muffs, Emma cocked her head to the side as well. "That might work..." she concentrated and soon had snow earmuffs on. Heavy enough to block the sound, but light enough not to weight down her head. "I THINK IT WORKED!" she smiled happily, unaware that she was yelling.
