The fall season was one of the more exciting times for weddings. There was something about an autumn wedding that always spoke to Emily. If she were to wed, it would either be then, or in the winter. However, that was a day that may never come. Sometimes, owning a bridal boutique was a little difficult. Today alone, Emily had five brides to consult with, and even though she was excited to see them happy, it made her a little sad. She didn't even have anyone special in her life. She supposed that her love for romance novels and chick flicks didn't help her in that department much.
Currently, she was in the back room, getting some things set up for her clients. The newest bridal fashions, and even some little flares of her own, including a crown of colored leaves that could easily have a veil attached to it. She was wearing one of the leaf crowns and humming a tune while smoothing out a traditional looking wedding dress. She knew that she had to go eat lunch eventually, so she decided that she would take a break after she was finished with the dress she was working on now, and maybe go to Granny's to get some take-out.
She looked at her watch, and sighed. She had no appointments until later that day, so she was going to be without anything to do for quite awhile. Oh well.. it just meant that she could work on some more autumn wedding sets to show off to customers. She was just about to pin something to the dress when she poked her index finger. "Ouch!" She winced. "Great.." she grumbled to herself, moving away from the white dress quickly so that it didn't get stained with blood. She hurried to the counter where she had bandaids in one of the drawers. She searched and searched. Unfortunetely, it seemed that she was out. "This is just.. fantastic." She scoffed, promptly putting her finger in her mouth.

Storybrooke. This was not the place for Pascal. Neverland was him home and he wanted to return. But without Pan there really didn't seem a point except that was what he was used to. When he had arrived here he noticed that many years had passed since the he was last on this world, and is old home was not that far. He wondered what happened to his parents. He wondered what they did upon finding him gone, but he knew they were long dead and gone. He himself would be reaching close to fifty if he would have stayed. But thanks to the magic of Neverland he hadn’t aged a day. He still looked as young as he was when he left his poor excuse for parents.
He walked out of Granny’s, in the chilly fall air, with a cup of hot chocolate in his hands. That was another thing he missed about Neverland, it was never cold. He hated the cold. He walked down the sidewalk sipping at his coco. He was supposed to be at school, but he ditched it like he did every day. If he was being forced to stay in the world, he was going to waste his time in a school, and there was nothing anyone could do to make him go. It seemed pointless. One day he would return to Neverland and be free again. He didn’t feel free here, he felt constricted, and he didn’t like that at all.
He stopped as he passed the bridal shop, on the other side of the street, and peered inside. Empty. No signed of her. He sighed and leaned up against the wall of the shop he was next to facing the bridal store and took another sip of his coco. Why did he stop just to look inside of an empty shop? He didn’t know, so he stood up from the wall and was about to walk away when he saw her rushing from out the back and start searching the counter. He smirked then walked across the street and soundlessly went into the shop. He walked up to the counter in front of her with just as much noise. “I didn’t know corpses could bleed.” He said after he watched her stick her finger in her mouth. He then reached down and tore off the bottom of his t-shirt a little and held it out.

Emily was inwardly cursing at herself for not stocking up on a first aid kit. She should have known better. She was far too clumsy to let it go empty. She wasn't expecting anyone to come in to the shop, but just as her finger went in to her mouth, there was Pascal. Definitely not a customer. His words about being a corpse, and bleeding, made Emily narrow her eyes. "Good, then maybe now you'll quit with the corpse thing. Clearly, i'm a living, breathing, bleeding human." She huffed. She watched curiously as he tore a bit of his shirt off, holding it out to her. A bandage. "Aww.. you are sweet, deep down, aren't you?" She teased, taking the piece of fabric with a smile. "I'm only teasing. Thank you."
She wrapped the fabric around her finger and it instantly eased the pain to not have air hitting it. "I stabbed myself in the finger with a needle while pinning a decorative broach to one of the dresses in the back. I guess that's what I get for thinking that broaches were making a comeback." Although she was indeed speaking at a volume that Pascal could hear, she was mostly thinking out loud. Her eyes moved from her finger finally to look at him. She eyed him for a moment, and lifted her brow. "So what are you doing around here today? Surely you're not here for a dress fitting." She teased once more, her lips curving in to a playful smirk.

Pascal looked at Emily with a soft smirk as she huffed about being human. He knew she wasn’t a corpse. Well anymore, but he still like to picking on her for it. He had been picking and teasing her since the moment he met her, it wouldn’t be right to just give that up. It was too much fun how irritated she got. “Maybe, we’ll see.” He said to her then raised an eyebrow at her teasing comment. “If you think I’m sweet, then next time I’ll just carry on my way and let you bleed all over the place.” He said then smirked. Not that he would have actually ever let that happen to her, but he wasn’t going to let her know that. He didn’t like the idea of anyone knowing he was sweet or caring. He like being the ruthless lost boy he was sure Pan had been proud of.
He took a sip from his coco after she took the fabric from him and started wrapping it around her finger, and then couldn’t help but smile as she went on about what caused her injury. He knew she wasn’t really telling him, but just talking to herself. “Maybe next time you should wear a thimble, and that wouldn’t happen.” He told her then smiled again when she looked at him. He let out a chuckle then smirked. “Well of course I am. I was thinking that dress would bring out my eyes.” He said pointing to a long lace dress with his hand that held his to-go cup. Surely he wasn’t going to tell her he had been standing across the street staring into her shop for unknown reasons. That didn’t seem like it would bode well.

Emily rolled her eyes at the comments he made. He was such a rascal, that one. She had meet a few of the lost boys since the family Charming, Gold, and Hook had come back from Neverland with them in tow, but none was so intriguing to speak to as Pascal. The two of them teased, and picked on one another, which was refreshing since she was coddled so much when she was younger. When she was alive for the first time. When he told her that he'd let her bleed everywhere if she thought he was sweet, she feigned shock. "You wouldn't do that to me, would you?" She laughed. "Don't worry, tough guy. Your secret of being nice is safe with me." She knew the boys had a bit of a...reputation for being tough. Strong. Not really..the sweet type. But everyone has their soft side, at least that's what Emily thought.
Pascal had pointed to the dress he was eyeing up, and Emily pursed her lips, looking at the gown. "Oh, that one? I don't know.. I see you as more of a spring bride. Pastels would definitely suit you." No longer could she stifle a giggle. "Your groom is a very lucky man. I for one, am proud that you've chosen such a liberal lifestyle." Clearly, Emily was enjoying this conversation a little too much. Once more, she laughed and leaned against the counter. "You are right though. I need to start using thimbles. It's too bad I've lost all of mine.. but I'll pick some up today. It's going to be a relatively slow day, unless I get more charming walk-ins like yourself." She teased, grinning.

Pascal smiled a crooked smile at Emily. He always enjoyed his interactions with Emily. She didn’t get mad or upset at his teasing. Instead she laughed and teased him back. Almost like she knew that him doing so was all in good fun and that he never really meant anything by it. He smirked at her shock. “Maybe.” He said then shrugged. “Well as long as you keep it to yourself, then maybe you’ll see more of my sweet side.” It had actually been a long time since Pascal even had a sweet side. Back in Neverland he threw rocks at the younger boys who cried for their parents at night. After Ursula, and her sweet singing voice disappeared from Neverland Pascal couldn’t sleep with all the crying. The younger boys seemed to learn quickly to not let him hear them cry. So him, giving up a piece of his shirt for her had been the first time he had been sweet to anyone in a very long time.
“Damn.” He said with a fake disappointed look on his face. He could tell she was trying to hold back her laughter, and it just made him want to continue this charade. “Looks like I’m going to have to Micah that our wedding must wait until spring then.” He joked and grinned as her laugh couldn’t be held back anymore. “He is very lucky. I’m a catch. Too bad you didn’t nab me when you had the chance.” He said jokingly then winked. He chuckled slightly and shook his head. If Micah found out about this, he would beat Pascal to a pulp, he knew it. He took another sip of his coco as she talked about thimbles, the reached in his pocket. “You can this one.” He said then pulled it out and held it out for her. “I found it in Neverland. But I’m glad I could give you some comic relief during your slow day.”

"Oh?" She questioned when he told her that if she kept it to herself, she'd see more of his sweet side. "Well in that case.." In order to show that she would indeed keep the secret that deep down he was a softy, Emily made a motion of zipping her lips, and throwing away the zipper when she was finished. She laughed and then placed her hands on the counter. Her finger was still a little sore, but she was starting to hardly notice it anymore, since she was distracted. Talking with him was so easy. The conversation seemed to flow like a stream.. and for a short time, it felt as though she were truly alive, instead of merely living.
Emily wanted to coo with laughter when he said Micah's name. She knew him as another one of the lost boys - one that was closer to Pascal's age. There weren't many older boys, so she assumed that they were a bit of a closer clique together than with the younger ones. Still though, they all seemed to look out for their own. "It's Micah then? Oh, I just knew you two were.. close." Her laughter chimed once more. He made the comment of nabbing him up when she had the chance, and her eyes rolled playfully. "Woe is me.. I'll have to find another suitor. Unfortunately they may not be as debonair as you," she placed the back of her head against her head, acting dramatically disappointed.
To her surprise, when she finished lamenting about her lack of thimbles, Pascal produced one for her from his pocket. "A thimble! What are the chances that you'd find one of these on Neverland? I believe that deserves a reward, and since I doubt you'd fancy a free veil.." She leaned across the counter and planted a light kiss on his cheek. "Don't worry. I won't tell the others that you were kissed by a corpse."

He nodded once after she questioned it, and then smiled as she showed him she would keep it to herself. He could help but chuckle a bit at the motion. It reminded him of the lost boys, when he asked them to keep a secret. Except the lost boys had locked their lips and threw away the key. Now he barely saw any of the younger lost boys. They seemed like to do as their told by the ‘adults’ of this place. “Thank you. I wouldn’t want the other lost boys to think I’m going soft. It wouldn’t look good, when we are finally able to go back to Neverland.” He said with a soft smile.
Pascal tried with all of his might to keep a serious face as he nodded yes about Micah. “Oh yes. But shh. It’s a secret. Micah is still too ashamed of our love.” He said then let out the laugh he was holding in. He raised an eyebrow at the word debonair, but since she was still using her joking voice he just smiled and patted her hand, lightly. “It’s alright you’ll find someone even better than I am. Maybe Micah and I won’t work out. You never know.” He said to her then smirked.
He watched her take his thimble and smiled lightly. He had mixed feelings about giving it to her. It was his last piece of home he had. All of his other possessions were still back in Neverland and that was all he had left. But something made him want to give it to her. He didn’t know why, but he did. She needed it more than he did. “Very rare. I don’t know where it came from, but I found it the day I was brought here, so I never got to find out.” He was about to joke with her and tell her that he did want the veil, but then she had kissed his cheek and he froze. “Uh..I I..Uh…” Was all he could stumble out. His cheeks turned a light shade of pink and his hand went to the back of his head.

Emily giggled. "Of course not. I wouldn't dream of telling on you." Even if she did speak to the other lost boys frequently, she was sure that she could keep it to herself how kind Pascal was being. She didn't know what life was like on Neverland, nor did she ever inquire, but she was certain that it was nothing like Storybrooke, nor was it likely anything like her home before her life was taken. When he spokeof going back to Neverland, she felt a twinge in her heart. She and Pascal had such a good friendship that even thinking of him going back to Neverland made her sad. Especially since she knew that if it was possible, the boys would likely choose to go alone once more. "Right.. well, what about a fairy? I'm sure at least one of them would have the power to send you back." There were many to choose from.. even though, she didn't know why she was giving him advice.
She smiled at Pascal's continuance of the charade of his and Michas' betrothment. It was quite entertaining indeed. "Ashamed? Of loving you? How scandalous. Perhaps he's not the right one after all, Pascal. You should be sure before you say yes to the dress." He patted her hand, consoling her, telling her that she may still have a chance one day if they didn't work out. She giggled quietly, and shook her head. He definitely had a way of making her laugh, no matter what the situation. "Oh well, you know me. Always the rebound..never the bride." She teased. Although, if he was paying attention, there was a hint of sadness in her voice. That, was apparently a little bit of a sensitive subject.
Emily was touched by the idea that he'd give her something rare that he had found in Neverland. As much as he loved and missed the place, one would have thought that it was something he'd never part with if the situation was different. Even anything as small as a thimble was likely important to him. When she kissed his cheek, he blushed, and it made her smile widen a little again. Even she began to blush a little. "Careful now. You wouldn't want Micah to see you get flustered over anyone else." She attempted to tease, in order to break any sort of awkwardness that may have developed when she bestowed the kiss on his cheek. "Unless of course your mind has changed already."

“Good, then I will stop calling you a corpse.” He had a feeling he could trust her to keep it a secret. Well he defiantly wanted to believe so at least. Which was strange, he didn’t trust many people. But he trusted her, while barely knowing her. Maybe it was just the way she was, and because of the friendship they had. He just felt so comfortable with her, for the most part. She did make him nervous, but he just chalked that up to being the first girl he had spoken to in a long time. Unless you count Tink or the mermaids, but he really didn’t. He looked at her curiously when she told about asking a fairy. “I never thought to ask one. I’ll keep it in mind. Thanks.” For some reason he didn’t like her giving him advice on how to get back home. Not that he didn’t appreciate it; he just didn’t like it coming from her.
He couldn’t help but smirk. He couldn’t believe that an entertaining conversation like this was a result of him not wanting to seem like a stalker. “Yeah, I think your right. I should really think about this before I make a decision I regret later.” He said with a light chuckle. He smile faded as he heard the sadness in her voice as she told him about being the rebound and never the bride. He took her hand lightly in his own. “You’d never be the rebound for me. If anything I would leave whoever I was with to be with you.” He said he tone now serious instead of the joking one he had. But he was shocked that it came out of his mouth. His cheeks flared up again, and he let go of her hand quickly. “I’m sorry. I don’t know where that came from.” He said then took a few steps away from the counter, stuffing his free hand, that wasn’t holding his cold coco, in his pocket.
The blushed remained on his cheeks as he looked at her while she spoke. He bit his bottom lip and nodded lightly. “Yea, that would not look good, would it?” He said then shrugged but smiled lightly. “It might have. I was never really sure about getting married to Micah anyways. He’s not a very good lover. Besides I have someone else in my sights.” He said the gulped slightly, but smiled.

Emily gave him an appreciative nod. "Good, because I'd much rather be known as that sweet girl, Emily, instead of Emily, the Corpse who runs the bridal shop." She mused. She knew he was only joking with her, but she figured she'd just play along, as she did any other time. However, she felt a little emotional when the topic changed to ways he could have gotten back home to Neverland. She decided to quickly drop the subject, and not dwell on it anymore. She very much enjoyed his company...but above all things, she wanted him to be happy..even if that meant having to sacrifice seeing him so often. The thought alone, made her quite sad.
The conversation of a wedding between Micah and Pascal was quite a hilarious one, indeed. She was almost waiting for Micah to bust in on the conversation and start fussing over how he wouldn't ever swing that way. Word on the street was that Micah had a bit of of a thing for mermaids, anyway. Their teasing back and forth though, started to turn in to something...else. When he had taken her hand, and told her that he'd leave someone for her, she instantly paled and blushed at the same time. She hadn't expected Pascal to say anything like that. "I," she began, but he took his hand away from her and apologized. "You've no need to apologize, Pascal." A small, rather shy smile curved on to the girl's lips.
The kiss she placed on his cheek only made the strange new aura between them grow even brighter. In fact, much to Micah's imaginary dismay, he was talking about having his eye on someone else. There was a familiar feeling of a fluttering in her stomach that she couldn't shake. It made her nervous, but she was curious. "Oh? I doubt it would be another lost boy.." she teased. "Perhaps I know them. Tell me more." There was now a new repore between the two of them now.. she wondered where exactly it would go.

He smiled lightly at her and nodded. It wasn’t like it was going to be hard. One he was merely joking with her about the corpse thing, and two, he didn’t talk about her to anyone. He wasn’t keeping her from anyone; she just never came up on conversation. Besides, there was nothing to talk about. She was a friend, nothing more nothing less. At least that’s what he kept trying to tell himself. Even now as they sat there in silence for the first time, after speaking about him returning to Neverland. Pascal was thinking that he was upset about this as all was because she was such a good friend to him. He had to think that way. If he thought of her in any other way then that, he was sure he would not return home.
Pascal couldn’t have been more embarrassed. He couldn’t believe that he said that to her. That crossed the line he didn’t want to cross with anyone in this town. He didn’t want a reason to stay here. But apparently he didn’t want to listen to himself. Even when she told him that he didn’t need to apologize, he still felt like what he said was wrong in a way. “But we’re friends, and I don’t think that would be something you say to a friend.” He felt like such an idiot. He needed to find Micah later and knock some sense into him.
He smirked and shook his head chuckling. “No, not a lost boy. It’s a girl this time.” He said slightly continuing the joke. He shook his head again when she asked him to tell her about the person he was interested in. “I’m not going to say. I’ve never admitted it out loud, and I’m afraid if I do it will become real, and she is already the reason I’m taking my time finding a way home.” He tried his best not to say too much, and even thou he didn’t, he still felt like he did. It was time for him to leave, but he didn’t want to.

It was strange how it struck Emily to hear him say that they were only friends, and something like that, one should not say to a friend. Although she knew that they did indeed have a friendship, she was nervous now that a friendship was all it would ever be. She never quite thought of it before now.. and she wasn't entirely sure why she was thinking of it at this moment. Still though, she found herself wishing that he wouldn't have taken back what he had said.. Or at least, she wished he wouldn't have back pedaled. "You're right.. it's not something one would say to a friend.. but.. perhaps, a close friend?" she asked, trying to be sneaky about it.
He was being coy as well, telling her that it was a woman he'd had his sights set on. This particular woman was a reason for him not going back to Neverland. She felt that familiar feeling of her stomach twisting in knots. She wanted to tell him what she was thinking, but he said it himself.. he feared that it would become too real. "Well.. i for one applaud her for keeping you here. Call it selfish of me, but.. I'm not looking forward at all to you going back to Neverland.." She looked down at the counter, and she gently bit her bottom lip. "Unless of course, you were taking guests with you." her eyes lifted so that she was gazing at him once more. "Because i'd hate to be without you, Pascal."

Pascal was scared and nervous. He never felt like this before, and for him it was rather confusing. They were friends. He shouldn’t feel this way towards a friend or anyone. He was a lost boy. He wasn’t supposed to having feelings like this. But the more he was near her, the harder it was for him to block out these feelings, and keep them inside. He raised an eyebrow at Emily, but then smirked and nodded once. “Very true. A close friend could probably say those things, without it being inappropriate.” He took a deep breath. “And since we are close friends, I will say it again. For me you’d never be the rebound.”
His nerves and confusion grew as she spoke. Not only were his emotions fighting his brain, but in a way Emily was too. She was not making this easy for him to keep playing coy. He also didn’t want to reveal his feelings due to the fact he had just recently found out about them. The moment he gave her the thimble was the moment he knew. He couldn’t help but smile at her words. Someone cared for him. Something that he thought was lost to him. But he also thought that he would never leave Neverland. “If you want to thank her. I can take you to her. She’s not very far.” He said then took her hand lightly. “Come I’ll introduce you to her.” He said and before she could answer he took her over to the mirror and stood her in front of it. He couldn’t believe he was telling her. He knew he should have left already. “I’d hate to be without you as well, Emily. This is why I’m thinking of not going back to Neverland. Neverland isn’t a place for someone as sweet as you.”

Emily wondered where this conversation would end up going. She was starting to feel her heart beating a little faster, which made her worry that her finger would bleed right through that bit of fabric that was tied on it. He repeated that she'd never be a rebound for him. She wondered if she was reading too much in to this... if he was just being nice because they were such good friends...but it seemed like it was more than that. She feared saying anything though, because she'd be absolutely mortified if she did and he didn't mean..what she thought he meant. Oh, her mind was going absolutely bonkers..and so was the fluttering in her stomach. "You'd never be a rebound for me either, Pascal. I hope you know that..." This was her way of attempting to be flirtatious, while being so nervous. It likely just sounded like a courteous response, but it was so much more than that.
But soon, her mind would be put to rest. The two of them both innocently spoke of a girl who was keeping Pascal from wanting to go back to Neverland..his home. Emily quirked a brow when he told her he'd introduce her.. perhaps she was indeed misreading the situation.. but soon, he was taking her by the hand and leading her to a mirror. The breath hitched in Emily's throat when the realization came that he was talking about her. All of the wonder...and the trying to hide her feelings.. none of it made a difference now. "Pascal," she breathed. Her head turned so that she could face him, and there was a mixture of relief, and sadness in her eyes. "I feel the same about you, I do.. but I.. I don't want to make you feel trapped here."
She didn't want him to leave.. but she didn't want him to be miserable, either. "What if we got together..right now...and you never got to go back to Neverland? What if one day, you begin to resent me? I couldn't bare it.."
