There was talk, not reliable talk, but talk about Gold importing some kind of jewel. A shiny jewel. Amarah couldn't just let talk about a shiny jewel go without being inspected upon. The only problem was, Nemr Aalam. The security guard that seemed to think way too highly of his position. He wasn't Graham, the sheriff. He was just a guard, a glorified patrolman. A glorified patrolman who didn't fit in his uniform so well anyway. Someone should have tried to properly fit that upper body in a shirt that fit. She supposed that Regina liked that sort of look on her worker bees. Amarah rolled her eyes a bit to herself as she stood against a wall. Shiny new gem, in a jewelry store, how could she miss it.
She sighed once everyone was out of the store, and used the code the bribed off of one of the employees. Now the lovely security system should be off, hopefully. She was banking a lot off of a code she didn't check prior. Rookie mistake. She could just hear her competition Ali speaking now. How he would never have made such an error. She rolled her eyes again this time approaching a small satchel that was placed under a new glass case. Well...that was pretty clearly something new.
If there had been more time, if Amarah hadn't rushed into this, if she hadn't seen a shadow that spooked her, she probably would have checked the satchel. Instead she scooped it up, and made a run for it. Quickly leaving the shop behind her, she took the side streets back to her apartment.
She had no idea if she was followed. But she was cocky enough to assume she wasn't. So instead, she got comfortable. Ratting her hair in a loose bun after pulling her hat and mask off. She kicked her boots off, sat at her kitchen counter and began to open up her satchel. Amarah could feel the giddiness, the excitement, all for her shiny new toy that would be worth who knew how much. Until she reached in and felt something else.
Confused, she pulled it out and just stared down at her counter. A banana. It was a ripe banana. Was this a joke? She was fooled. That had to be it. Fooled. They said a gem would be somewhere and it wasn't. But..that meant it was probably a set up. Amarah closed her eyes, disappointed in herself when she heard the knock on her door. An arrogant known at that. Reluctantly she hopped off the stool opened the door, already knowing who it was and threw herself on the couch. "How many days in the brig this time?"
