It was rather late at night and the rest of the gypsies were unwinding. Esmerelda, however, was still hyped up from her performance earlier that day that earned them all a rather large top hat full of coins. She was quite proud of herself. She hadn't expected the small village in the Enchanted Forest to be quite so gracious, but she wasn't at all complaining. Of course all of that money wouldn't have been earned if it hadn't been for Clopin. She credited him for everything, of course. Currently, she was standing on a rather large, smooth rock in her bare feet, dancing to a song that a few of the other gypsies sang, clapped their hands, and stomped their feet, nearly drowning out the sound of the tambourine that she was patting with her hand to the beat of the Romani tune. Every now and then, Esmerelda would join along with the song, but mostly she focused on her dance. Her eyes lifted as the song was starting to come to an end, and she spotted Clopin across the camp, and she gave him a small smile. It was her attempt at beckoning him to join their little group. Esmerelda's Dress!

YOU WON'T LIVE TO TELL THE TALE Everyone was enjoying a successful day. No one was harmed or killed, and they, mainly Esmerelda, had earned quite a lot of coin. These two achievements, made it a successful day, and everyone was rejoicing in it at this late hour. The gypsies were gathered around the camp, engaging in song and dance. Clopin was not an antisocial man by any means, he also enjoyed getting right in there and joining festivities. It was after all what he did back home and whenever they would risk the dangers of going to the capital where Frollo was. But now they were n a new kingdom, and a long way from home.
Which meant, they had to be extra cautious. Hence, the reason Clopin was sitting a little away from the camp, sharpening his dagger with a dull rock. He planned to keep watch tonight, and had to be well armed should an attacker made their way to their camp. Frollo's spies could be anywhere, and while the judged loathed all gypsies, Clopin and Esmerelda had a price on their heads due to their rather public demonstrations rebelling Frollo's ways.
So he couldn't be too careful. Once he was done sharpening the dagger, he held it up, inspecting the sides. He wouldn't hesitate to kill a threat, just like he had done multiple times in the past. His eyes broke from the dagger and rested on Esmerelda when she just so happened to be looking at him, and smiling. He knew her well enough to know that look. It prompted him to rise to his feet, tuck his daggers away, and make his way to join the camp party. As he arrived he backflipped into the scene, landing on his feet with great ease and extended his arms as if to say I am here! With that, he gave a bow and patted a few gypsies on the shoulder and backs in greeting as he began to walk, purposefully making his way to what had tempted him here. So he only stopped walking when he stood near the gypsy princess. "Still not tired?" He teased. "Not that you ever are. I think you get that from me," he said jokingly, even though they weren't blood related.

Keeping watch was an important part of the gypsies' evening. If someone found their camp, they would have to stand on their guard to defend themselves. Not to mention, they'd have to leave promptly and find a new place to call 'home'. Still though, she hated seeing Clopin who was one of the most social people she ever knew sitting away from the others. He could keep watch later.. right now, she felt safe and awake enough to watch on her own. A few of the crowd of singers had wandered off to their tents and bedrolls to go to sleep, bu there were still some that seemed to be going strong. "Tired? Me? Never. You're right.. you're a horrible influence." She gave him a playful wink while bumping her tambourine against her hip.
"C'mon, Clopin.. don't leave a girl without a man to dance with," With her free hand, she took one of his, and she began to dance around him in a circle, pulling him along with her. No one should ever have that much energy so late at night, but it was Esmerelda's way. She slept here and there, sure..but it wasn't nearly quite as much as the normal person. Clopin was the same way, and that's why she loved spending so much time with him. Well, one of the billion reasons. "Looks like our band is dwindling," She mused, noticing that people were calming down already. How sad.. this meant that she should probably quiet down soon - even though the gypsies were used to sleeping through noise.. she didn't want to be rude.

YOU WON'T LIVE TO TELL THE TALE Esmerelda confirmed her lack of fatique, claiming that he was a horrible influence. Clopin chuckled with amusement at this. "Well I for one am glad. Who would I have as my dancing partner if you weren't able to keep up?" He teased. He would take the credit proudly of being a bad influence. Perhaps had they not been raised together, things would be different and they would not have been so similar in things such as this. But he was glad they were. It allowed them to continue to be strongly bonded together. She then told him not to leave a girl without a man to dance with and he all too happily obliged, dancing with her in the late hour of the night while others retired to their makeshift beds.
He moved to the music she created with her talent of the tambourine, the familiar jingling reminding him of what it used to be like back home in the Court of Miracles. The late festivities, the crowds dancing in the street. And now -- as Esmerelda so accurately pointed out -- the crowd was indeed lessening. "Pas de problem!" He answered to her, saying that it wasn't a problem at all. "We only need us two of a band, non?" He said grinning, holding her hand in his as he energetically moved to the music. "Someone has to keep watch anyway, and those someones need to entertain themselves to remain awake!" That, was his justification. As skewed as it may be... it was what he was going with.

Now this was more like! Clopin was acting much more like himself. Sure, keeping watch was important, but it was even more important to take out time to enjoy themselves. "So true!" She cooed about how they only needed two for a band. Really, only one would have been fine, but who on earth wanted to celebrate alone?! She giggled, and grabbed his hand, twirling, and dancing. But after a few moments, she placed down her tambourine. Although everyone was quite used to sleeping with the noise of music, she still thought it rather rude to continue playing when everyone aside from she and Clopin were starting to settle down. "Although, I do suppose it's getting late, and if we keep making noise, we'll most certainly be found easier."
Esmerelda was sometimes a fan of the silence. Of course she loved her music and laughter, but there was nothing like just listening to the sounds that the night made. "Do you hear them, Clopin? They're singing us a song," She smiled as she sat down, and then laid back against the large rock they had been dancing on. The crickets and other wildlife in the Enchanted forest were making their normal night time sounds.. leave it to Esmerelda to see it as a song. She opened her eyes, and looked up at him, batting her lashes casually. "Tell me a story, Clopin? It doesn't have to be long. I just like hearing you talk." She gave him a flirtatious smile.
The two of them had been fond of each other since their child hood. In fact, most had thought the two would be married by now... but they had their own plans. Their own agendas, and if anything were to happen between them, it would be on their time. Though Esmerelda would indeed often find herself daydreaming about her favorite jester.
