As the plans to help Elsa find her sister took a sudden and unexpected dead end, Mr. Gold had to decide what his next course of action was. When the locator spell he performed showed him that Anna was not in this world, it was clear that she was still in Arendelle. This was a particular problem because... there was no way to get back to Arendelle. Well... no way for a mere mortal to get back there anyways. Gold had his ways, in secret, after he was freed from Zelena's control, he made a plan, a plan to try to get them all back to the Enchanted Forest. But to put this plan into motion, he had to gather all the... ingredients together.
The problem with this was, a lot of the ingredients were scarce, and the ones he knew he could eventually get a hold of would often find himself in a position where he had to betray someone to get them. He had a location on one particularly rare item, but he couldn't just go and get it, not on his own, not revealing to everyone that he was in fact up to something. He needed someone cunning, and dare he say, not afraid to bend the rules to get the job done. He stood in his office looking at the paper the spell was written on. It was complicated and many a magical being would find it way over their heads, but not the dark one.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Well this was just a bloody delight. Somehow, Killian had been the one sent to speak to Rumple about the latest plan to find Elsa's sister. Hook was all for helping the queen, however . . . he'd rather do it in the absence of Gold's company. While the two were no longer at each other's throats and could somewhat prove to be in the same room without trying to kill each other, Hook didn't exactly enjoy seeking him out.
He may not want to claim his vengeance as much any more, but nor did he have any desire to converse with the man unless it was absolutely imperative. Apparently, this was one of those circumstances. Again, Hook felt that anyone else could have come to find out the plan but it appeared most others were 'busy'. Emma had asked him to, so he complied. Asked, told, same difference he supposed. Either way, Hook made his way into Gold's store, hoping to quickly get this over with.
"Crocodile," he called out as he entered the store. Gold wasn't behind his desk, but he was clearly in here somewhere for the door was open. Hook waited for him to emerge, looking at the items on the shelf in the meantime. Perhaps he should make it known why he was here, and it of course wasn't to look for a fight. "The others wish to know if you have made any progress with a plan to find the ice queen's sister," he continued to speak, looking at the different objects without touching them, and assuming Gold was within earshot since he still had not come out. "They sent me to find out. Apparently I drew the short straw," he added, concealing the bitterness in his voice. His tone then lowered to a mumble as he spoke his next words. "Whatever the bloody hell that means." Apparently it was some sort of expression in his realm, for Killian hadn't drawn anything! Let alone a . . . straw.

"Speak of the devil." As he heard the all to familiar voice coming from the front of his shop, he folded up the spell and put it quietly into his safe, along with the few ingredients he had already gathered. Elsa was to come by tonight to test out the spell to see if it worked. However, seeing as Gold had yet to get all the ingredients he needed, and time was scarce. The emergence of Hook was almost to perfect, Rumple was sure he could manipulate him into helping him, and he had the skills he needed in order to get the remaining ingredients.
He listened to him speak from the front of the shop and rolled his eyes, finally he emerged into the front of the shop and looked him over. "Oh, Killian, and what do I owe this... pleasant surprise in my humble shop?" Rumple layed it on thick, however, he knew Hook was gonna see right through him. "If you must know, I am working on something that can help in this matter. Actually, I could use your... expertise and skills in order to continue. You wouldn't mind helping, would you?" He knew that Hook would have no reason not to say yes, as it was his goal to find Elsa's sister as well, was it not, so it would seem suspicious if he declined.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook immediately turned his attention to Rumple when he revealed himself, speaking his sarcastic words of what he owed this pleasure to. Perhaps sarcasm was an understatement. Though they had proved they were capable of being civil, that in no way meant they were anywhere near friends. So Hook wasn't surprised at his sarcasm. Funny how far along the two of them had come. Hook didn't bother to answer the man's question, for he then went on to explain that he was working on something to help find Anna. Killian moved closer to the crocodile, intrigued though he played it casually of course. Despite all of Rumple's flaws, he was undeniably powerful and this time, he appeared to be putting his powers and knowledge to good use.
Ah, but that was the operative word: appeared. God knows what went on inside that man's head, and Hook didn't -- nor would he ever -- trust him. Near the end of his explanation, he spoke of how he needed help in this matter; how he could use his -- wait, did Killian hear that right?! expertise and skills. It caused Hook to smirk in response. "You must be desperate if you are seeking my expertise and skills," Hook stated, amused by Rumple's words . . . mainly because he had never heard him say such things to him before.
"In fact, that's probably the nicest thing you've ever said to me, crocodile," he added with feigned flattery. He was returning the favor of being sarcastic. Now standing in front of the Dark One, Killian decided to take the words a little more seriously. Because Killian did genuinely want to help where and when he could. "What exactly is it you need my help with?" He inquired, feeling skeptical with agreeing to anything before he heard the terms. Especially when it came to Rumpelstiltskin.

He knew Killian wasn't dumb enough to fall for his flattery, but perhaps it caught the Pirate Captain off guard enough so that he didn't expect any tricks from Gold. That had been the plan all along. Butter him up with fake compliments and hope that he was so confused by it, he wouldn't question Gold further. "I could find someone else, but suffice it to say, there are few as devious and sneaky as yourself." Gold responded, these were clearly not complimentary words, but they were said in a complimentary tone, to further confuse Hook.
Ignoring the line about nicest thing he had ever said to him, and the use of the unsavory nickname Killian has given him over the years, he smiled at the mans next question. "Good, I am so glad you are willing to help out our damsel in distress. Perhaps you are not as vile as I assume you are." Gold told him before moving around the counter. "The potion I am making that will help locate Princess Anna is quite a tricky one, One of the ingredients in really hard to come by. It just so happens I have found it, but I need your help in procuring it." Gold told Hook, finally getting to what he needed out of the pirate.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION If the man's goal was to confuse Hook, then he was certainly successful. For Hook was not buying a word of what Rumple was saying to him. He knew the man better than that; he knew that no matter how reformed either of them were, there would be a level of animosity between them . . . even if they never acted on it. So why was he offering all these compliments? Something didn't seem right, but alas, Hook went along with it for the time being. He just approached the situation with extreme caution -- which was always the case when dealing with the Dark One.
"Keep talking, crocodile," he said, somewhat amused yet also suspicious of the complimentary words. He went on to say that he was glad Hook was willing to help a damsel; and that he was not as vile as Rumple presumed him to be. "That's funny, coming from you mate," he stated . . . considering how vile the Dark One was presumed to be. Perhaps that was a thing of the past for most. He was after all, married now. A slightly frightening thought.
He listened attentively as Rumple went on to explain that he needed Hook to procure something for him; something that was a part of a locater spell to find the missing sister. "And what exactly is the nature of this ingredient?" Hook inquired, intrigued to know what it was that he needed him for. He had said that Hook was devious and sneaky . . . so something told him that such qualities would be needed to gather this particular ingredient. The pirate's distrust for the wizard was stronger than ever. Which was why he felt the need to ask his next question.
"Are you really doing this out of the kindness of your heart?" He paused for a moment. "Or well, whatever is in that chest of yours that beats," he added more mockingly, suggesting that Rumple didn't have a heart in the essence of the word. Was he really just doing this to help, and not seeking out to strike a deal for anything in return? It seemed so . . . uncharacteristic of him.

"Don't get greedy, Hook." Gold told the man, one or two compliments were quite frankly hard enough for Gold to get through, any more then that and Mr. Gold was gonna have to make himself a forgetting potion to forget that this conversation had ever happened. Still, it seemed like Killian was playing right into his plan, and Mr. Gold was quite glad about that. "Do you not believe I have changed? That I am a changed man?" Gold asked Killian when he basically called Gold vile back. Of course not, once a villain, always a villain in most peoples eyes.
"Nothing dangerous, I quite assure you." Gold replied when he asked what the nature of the ingredient was. Perhaps the pirate captain was more suspicious then he let on. No matter, if Killian wasn't gonna cooperate willingly, then Rumple could always force him to do it. He then asked the question that made Gold know, for certain that Killian was to suspicious to just help no questions asked. Was he really doing it out of the kindness of his heart? Even going further to insult him by claiming he didn't have a heart in the first place.
"You truly know me to well, my great and worthy foe." Gold replied, now walking around the display case and standing in front of Hook, face to face. "I do admit that while helping Elsa does benefit me greatly, as Elsa is one of the strongest beings I have ever met. I do really want to help her. So in order to help her, I need your help. Unless you aren't the person everyone thinks you are, Hook?" Gold told him, his tone clearly changing to a more sinister one.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION The man told him not to get greedy and Hook just continued to stare at him. "You of all people shouldn't be telling me about greed." Considering the Dark One's own greed for power. Aye, it was true that Killian's former pirate self was greedy and selfish, but he was no longer that man -- he was determined to believe that and hoped his actions proved it every day. Killian's train of thought went well with Rumple's next words, questioning whether he believed him to be a changed man.
"I have my doubts," Hook answered with blunt honesty. He was a long way from ever lowering his guard around the man. "But perhaps you will be one of the very few people who have proved me wrong." He was being sarcastic. Because for some reason . . . he just didn't believe that the man had changed his ways. Perhaps it was hypocritical considering Hook's own position, but he had rather be cautious around him than hold any faith or belief that the man was no longer a ruthless creature. He then assured him that the nature of the ingredients was not dangerous. Killian had his doubts about that. Though at the same time . . . would he lie about something so obvious? "Our versions of dangerous may differ," he added, still with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm not quite sure whether knowing you too well is a good or bad thing," he mocked. He was certainly leaning toward the latter. Because . . . well, it meant he was spending too much time around him. That, and he had spent a significant amount of time hunting him down, learning as much as he could about him. And then thirdly, he had heard things about him from Milah. But he wasn't going to mention that right now. And then, the truth began to come out; he admitted that helping Elsa benefited him, but that he also was genuinely helping. Interesting. Very interesting indeed. But Killian being the stubborn man he was, refused to recant his statement about not believing Rumple was an entirely changed man. Time would tell . . . and Rumple would need a lot of time to prove it. At least in Hook's eyes.
"Once you do help her, best leave her be," he said, a slight warning in his tone. "She is indeed powerful and we both know how your thirst for power is never quenched." So whatever Rumple did to help Elsa, Hook was warning him not to do anything . . . Dark One-like after his assistance. It was all he could do to try to protect others in this town, especially a friend. He then questioned whether Killian himself was really a changed man. "I am fully reformed, Crocodile," he said confidently, stubbornly . . . perhaps somewhat trying to convince himself as well.
He believed it to be true, but he also knew that he had to keep showing himself to be the man he truly was, not just the pirate they had met some time ago. "So why don't you tell me what it is you need me to procure." He was agreeing to help, and perhaps it was sparked by his defiant need to prove to Rumple, and everyone else, that he had indeed changed. Damn the Crocodile for knowing what to say to have him agree. But he supposed that was why he had a reputation for being rather . . . manipulative.
