Katalina Leila Watson had definitely explored quite a bit, but she didn't quite feel like going to the place that she was staying at. So she explored some more.
Elsewhere, in a tavern, Kat's father was drinking, desperate to find his daughter and get rid of his disgrace of a daughter. He was going to find her if it was the last thing he did. Then he started to ask around about her. He described what she looked at and he eyed a man with a hook, wondering if maybe he would know of whom he was talking about.
For now, Stewart asked everyone else about his daughter and finally he got a lead. The man he had asked knew exactly where she stayed but he wanted to know why he was looking for her. It was an easy lie, telling him that he was an old friend; it rolled off his tongue so easily, he had to remember it was a lie.

just two ships PASSING IN THE NIGHT Killian was engaging in his favorite pass time he often partook in whenever they made land . . . and that was being in a tavern. This was after all the ideal place for a pirate whenever they were off their ship. It provided them drink, game, and women, and even coin in most cases. What more could a pirate want? Unfortunately for Hook, his priorities had somewhat shifted. Though he could still enjoy a night at the tavern, his need for revenge was not far from his mind. At least this helped distract all else as he had a few drinks, gambled, and then found a woman to spend the night with.
He was currently in the early stages of the night, still working on getting less than sober as he downed his third cup of drink and engaging in the good company of his crew and others they had just met though now acted as if they knew for some time. Of course that could shift in an instant, but Hook was currently not looking for a fight . . . not yet anyway. Despite the fact that he was not looking, it seemed one was going to come, for he noticed an elder man, eying him. Hook didn't appreciate that. One wrong look from anyone and it meant they were looking for trouble. And this man wouldn't stand a chance.
The man seemed to be striking conversation with many others in the tavern, moving from person to person. When he neared Hook and his crew, whether he was going to come up to him or not, Hook was going to address him. "Problem there, mate?" He questioned, not quite forgetting the look the man had given him. He felt no shame in calling the man out of his actions, even if he was older. Hook after all, was a bully. And of course a pirate. What did he care about hurting someone's feelings or trying to provoke them.

It seemed the pirate Stewart had eyed decided that it would be a good idea to ask him if there was a problem. Stewart turned to the man and smiled. "No problem here. I'm just searching for my friend. Her family lived next to me and I'd heard she ran away. So I just want to see if she is okay."
The man calmly waited to see if he received a response. Stewart was a very patient man and he had proven to be considering on how many years he had been attempting to locate Katalina and now was no different. "Perhaps you've seen her? Brown hair, stands at about five foot three, stubborn as all get out?"
Meanwhile, Katalina started to get tired, and she decided that it was almost time to go back and sleep, but she was a bit of a ways away from the place that she stayed.

just two ships PASSING IN THE NIGHT Killian continued to listen to the man as he spoke of how he was looking for a friend. He was only partially interested, half listening to his reason for searching for her, and then her physical description which was quite general. He did however question whether Hook had seen her before and he turned his gaze back to the man. "I have seen many women, mate," Hook said smirking, his voice clear with suggestiveness as to his encounters with such women. "And many of them fit that description." Short in height, brown hair and stubborn. Hell he could find a handful of these women in this very tavern should he search for them.
"You'll have to be a tad bit more specific," he added, still smirking and still not entirely interested in assisting the man. He was after all a pirate, and didn't do something for nothing. He was more interested in how it would benefit him; what he would gain from it. "Besides, a word of advice," he began, turning his gaze back to the game in front of him, though still speaking to the man. "Don't expect anyone to help you 'less you're willing to offer something in return." And Hook was no exception to this. Besides, the crowd here weren't exactly those who would just help for the hell of it. They would most certainly want monetary reward.

Stewart knew it was a pretty general description, but he didn't know how else to describe his shameful daughter. Then the hooked man seemed to tell him that he wouldn't get information for free, and he pulled out a bag full of gold coins and set it on the table. "Is that sufficient for you?"
Then Stewart remembered the picture that was taken at one of Kat and Stewart's outings, and he pulled it out of his pocket, thinking quickly. "This was taken a few years ago when she joined us for dinner. My wife took it while I was away." He hoped that this picture would help him out as he handed it over. He smiled as if he were worried.
"Please, I just need to see for myself that she's alright."

just two ships PASSING IN THE NIGHT Killian watched the man as he pulled out a bag of what was presumably coin inside. He took it in his hand, rather pleased that he got paid for something that he hadn't agreed to. Pocketing the bag of gold, he then peered at the picture that the man was showing him. Familiar she was indeed . . . for it was none other than Katalina, a female recruit on his ship. Killian remained indifferent though. He simply looked at the picture briefly, before meeting his gaze again, showing no reaction to the image. "Pretty little thing she be," Killian said casually, taking a sip of his drink as he continued to listen to the man, speaking of his apparent worry for her and needing to find out if she was alright. If he was indeed her father, then Killian had been told by Kat quite a different story regarding his motivations for finding her.
"She does look a tad bit familiar . . . " He began to say, as he feigned an attempt to recollect where he saw her. "Aye, I remember now," he said suddenly, leaning forward toward the man, appearing to be quite serious in his response, even glancing either way to ensure no one over heard them if only to add to the seriousness of his response. "I encountered her at a brothel in a nearby town and might I say, she was indeed one of the best." With a wink, and the seriousness fleeing his tone upon his words, he chuckled with amusement at his own answer and leaned back in his seat once again, taking another swig of his drink, looking forward to seeing whether the man was provoked by his response or not.

Stewart was hoping that locating his daughter and being done with her would be easier than what it was turning out to be. Yes, it annoyed him, but he knew that if he practiced patience then at some point someone might tell him where she might be. There was also a good chance that Katalina had told someone about her father trying to kill her; which was why he said he was a friend looking for her. Some might be smart and realize that the man was a little old for friendship with the woman, but he had to try.
Stewart smiled at the hand-hooked man, trying once again to get some more information out of him. "Please. I will pay you double that if you could tell me where she is, or might be staying. I understand money is of improtance here, and I have enough to count."
A questioning eyebrow popped up when the man mentioned seeing her at a brothel and that she was the best. Great, so not only did Kat dishonor him by being in love with a pirate, but now she was whoring her body around too. This was why he needed to be rid of her. It wasn't going to hurt him any by losing a child, that most would feel. He hadn't wanted to be a father to begin with and so kept his distance for as long as possible.
"That only told me that she's down a dark path by whoring her body around to any man willing to pay her, I'm sure. I've been searching for a long time now. So again, where is she? Money is a non-issue. I will pay you whatever you wish."

just two ships PASSING IN THE NIGHT Killian nonchalantly took another swig of his drink. It seemed that the man adamant. He even spoke of how he had heard her to be whoring herself in brothels. That made Killian smirk, the rumor to be a rather amusing one. "Then perhaps you should be searching brothels then. Save your coin and use it to gain audiences with the women until you find your friend." Because Hook wasn't going to confirm, nor did he deny, his encounters with her.
"Consider that piece of advice to be free of charge, mate," he added on, looking at the stranger. "Now best get out of my company before I grow irritated with your persistence." With that, he took another sip of his drink and looked away from the inquiring male. He hadn't come to the tavern to start a fight, however, was prepared to engage in one if the man didn't leave his presence. Preferably the man would leave before Katalina returned.

Why does it kill the idea of who we are?
### WORDS | TAG: @pitch

Katalina didn't have any idea that her father was in town, and so she had felt no need to carry any weapons, which she would later think was foolish. Meanwhile, in the tavern, Stewart was growing frustrated with the pirate and merely nodded at the man's words before stomping out of the tavern. The door hit against the wall hard enough to make a sound and then it simply swung closed.
That sound Kat heard, as she wasn't far from that particular tavern. Her body jumped for a moment but she instinctively ducked behind a corner and waited for someone to pass. When no one did, it became obvious the angry person went the opposite direction.
Kat peered around the corner and surely enough, there was a man walking away. But that walk...it was familiar and it sent chills down the woman's spine. She didn't dare follow the man but instead she went inside the cavern glancing around and seeing Killian. That was some comfort and she tried to remain calm when she ordered a rum and sat her sorry ass on a seat. "How long does it take to pour rum around here?"
