All the more reason to enjoy the quiet moments. Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT The evening had gone splendidly. Almost perfectly . . . apart from that run in with the thief. But as he apologized for his behavior once more, he hoped it remained in the past. Besides, it did not seem to sullen the moment as they had just shared a rather passionate kiss. One that left him yearning for more of her. Yet he was going to be on his best behavior tonight. Emma Swan always often proved to be quite worth the wait. Had he not believed that, he would have given up long ago. But alas, here they were. Enjoying the night of their first date. He had planned it up until this point, not wanting to make any assumptions about how the rest of the night would go. He did hope that this was not the end of what proved to be a rather peaceful night -- compared to most others. It was a wonder that there was no crisis that abruptly ended their evening or that her attentions were not demanded elsewhere. He was also very mindful of his hand. Disallowing it any control over him as he would not return to the man he had once been -- the pirate he had once been.
She turned to allow him to remove his jacket, which he did so, slowly pulling it off her arms as the night air had been a little cool on the journey back to her place. Or well, her family's place. Were they inside? Or had they given him the benefit of the doubt that the date could very well extend beyond the walls of the restaurant? Holding the coat in his hand -- both his hands, a feeling that he was still basking in -- he looked at her, awaiting her next words as they would show whether it was time for him to leave, or if she would invite him to stay. Deciding to prompt that decision a little, he spoke. "I suppose this is good night then?" He both stated and questioned, eagerly awaiting her response, as the hope built inside of him. They had waited so long for this and it seemed far too short to bring it to a close now. He only hoped that she could see it from that perspective as well for her selfless nature did not often grant her a moment's peace. template by isabella

If someone told Emma Swan even only a year ago that she'd be out on a date with Captain Hook - and wearing a dress - she would have called them crazy. Of course she was attracted to him when she first met him.. that was a given. How would a girl -not- be attracted to Killian? However, they were a bit like oil and water. He was after all working with Cora at the time so that put a little bit of a damper on any sort of romantic spark. Luckily though, he was persistent. Because of it, they were on a date tonight, and somehow he seemed to acquire a hand.. and it was because of Rumplestiltskin. The whole thing was still a huge red flag to her, but the two of them were enjoying themselves so she wouldn't play cop tonight and question it all. Instead, she allowed him to take her jacket, and she gave him a small smile. "It's pretty good so far.. I'll give you that."
It was, of course, a hint that she wanted him to stay..but first, a clean sweep of the house. "Anyone home?" She called out as she looked up the staircase. No response meant that Elsa was at the sheriff's station, her parents were out, and Henry was with Regina. "Well," She cleared her throat. "Looks like no one's here, so.. since that's the case, do you wanna hang out longer? You did, after all, want to know what Netflix was." She mused with a small grin. Even though she was aching to get out of the dress and in to pajamas, she'd remain wearing it for now. It wasn't so bad after awhile..it was just weird. "Oh! Can I get you something to drink?" It wasn't really common for her to entertain people. The most she had to do on Netflix night with everyone else was to make popcorn, and hot chocolate for herself and Henry - with cinnamon.

Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT Good; she had said that the night was good. A smile formed on Killian's lips, hearing her approve of the night. He knew well enough that Emma Swan was not an easy woman to impress. So he felt a strong sense of pride that he was able to do so. Though perhaps the pride lay more in the fact that he had the most incredible woman at his side. When she called inside to see if anyone was home, he felt the anticipation building within him as he inched toward the door, and now stood in its threshhold. It wasn't until she asked if wanted to spend more time with her that he felt a wave of relief, and his body relaxed from a tension that he had not even been fully aware of until it had been alleviated. He took another step in and closed the door behind him, smiling at her.
"Asking me out on a date, asking me in your home . . . I have to say Swan, I am quite enjoying this rather inviting side of you," he said teasingly, though not without truth. There had been reasons he had not asked her out to dinner for some time, so when she had asked him, it had firstly caught him off guard. But he mostly felt elated for it had meant that she was ready. A great deal of what happened between them had been left at her own pace and desire for he had made his own feelings rather clear. She spoke of something she had once mentioned before. Some thing called Netflix. Curious indeed. "I should probably avoid having anything heavy to drink," he began to say, referring to the beverages of a more alcoholic nature. "Now that you have me alone, who knows how you might try to take advantage." A clear tease; a welcome one however for he certainly wouldn't mind that. He walked closer to her, a smirk playing on his expression. "Best keep my wits about me," he added with a bit of a wink. Besides, he was not about to show her the drunk side of him; she had already witnessed that when they went back into the past. And then there was the small matter of his hand. He wasn't about to do anything to provoke drawing out his former self. template by isabella

That smile of Killian's could be dangerous if she let it get to her too much. In hindsight it probably already had, which was why she not only asked him out on a date, but also wanted him to stay a little longer. He spoke of how he enjoyed the inviting side of her, and she pursed her lips teasingly. "Don't get too used to it. You know me, I can change my mind so quick it'll make your head spin." She was clearly teasing, but she couldn't show that she was letting her guard down. It'd be a nightmare if someone figured out that she wasn't as tough as nails as everyone suspected that she was. Once he stepped inside, she walked to the refrigerator and grabbed out a couple of beers she had stocked in there. Of course Mary Margaret and David weren't incredibly excited about it, but she was a fully grown woman and sometimes she just needed a cold one to let loose with.
Emma rolled her eyes at Killian's comment about her having her way with him if he had something too hard to drink. "Don't worry, I'll do my best to keep my hands off of you." She mused, sarcasm dripping from her voice. She crossed the distance between them, and she held out the bottle of beer to him. "Here. I'm sure one beer won't be enough to have you passing out on my couch." She grinned. Whether he accepted, or denied the drink, she crossed the apartment once more and grabbed a remote, clicking on the tv, and then switching it to Netflix. As she scrolled though the movies and tv series, something caught her eye, making her smirk. "Hey.. ever want to know how you've been perceived through stories?" Disney's Peter Pan stared them in the face. This had to be watched.

Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT Oh how he knew that to be all too true. He was not about to do anything to push her away from him, now that she wanted to be with him. While he knew that her words were made in teasing, his mind was all too aware of the possibility of losing her. Not physically, but emotionally. He had allowed himself to love another again and this time, he refused to lose her in any sense of the word. She returned the next teasing remark, speaking of how she would try her best to keep her hands off of him, which only caused his smirk to remain in place. "No need to try too hard, love," he told her, clearly suggesting that he quite liked the thought of her doing that. But again, this was all in good humor, for as she passed him the beer and made her way to the couch, it was evident that she was going to go through with whatever this Netflix business was.
Holding the beer in hand, he made his way over to the couch to join her, seating himself next to her. One hand held the beer, while his arm casually went behind her. How wonderful it felt to have both hands; to be able to use one that he had been missing for so long. He used his teeth to open the cap of his drink, watching as she turned on some box of sorts that showed flashes of images. "You have the most peculiar objects in this world," he thought aloud, before taking a sip of his drink. She then questioned whether he wanted to see how he was depicted through stories just as the screen rested on the words Peter Pan. "I recall you briefly telling me and from what I recollect, it did not sound very flattering," he stated, making a slight face though he had to admit, he was intrigued to see how his story was being shared with the world. Hell, he remembered her face when she first saw him and referred to him as Hook. There was disbelief there, and her familiarity of his name was not quite what he had expected. For it had not been based on the tales of the vicious pirate captain others knew him to be. "But alas, let us compare. And feel free to point out all the qualities that make the real me far more devilishly handsome than how this story's version shows me to be," he added with a playful smile. template by isabella

Killian was so cocky, and while other women liked that sort of thing, Emma completely pretended that she didn't. Even though..well..she was only human. When he sat beside her, one arm around her and the other holding his beer, she couldn't help but glance at each of his hands subtly. Emma looked past the hook that was formally on his hand. She had no problem with it...but she was sure that he was irritated by it constantly, and it must have been a nice change. Then again, it wasn't such a bad thing to be touched by a warm hand instead of cool metal. Still though, it wasn't something he needed to bargain with Gold for. Again, though, she wasn't going to ruin the night by pulling out her notepad and asking cop questions. She took a breath, and relaxed, settling back against the couch with a tight grasp on her bottle. Killian opened his own with his teeth. That was impressive. Emma was having a hard enough time getting her own open with her hands. Stupid dress. It was turning her in to a girl.
"Yeah," she grunted a little, trying to twist off the bottle cap. "Peculiar is a word for it." She got distracted by the colors of the television. She hadn't watched the movie in quite a long time, actually. Not since she had been very little. So many renditions.. Peter Pan. Hook. They all made Killian look rather unflattering. She saw first hand though, that it was Pan who should have been made in to an ugly villain. She laughed when he told her to point out all of the qualities that the real Killian held that the ones portrayed in stories did not.. the..devilishly handsome ones, as he put it. "Yes, Killian. You're much more handsome than this guy. Then again, Disney didn't exactly get anyone right." She watched as Pan's shadow dashed around the Darlings' room playfully. "That shadow was much more of an ass in real life." She glared at the tv, trying again to twist the bottle cap open. Now it was just getting embarrassing.

Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT She even seemed to agree that this world had odd objects. Then again, he supposed from her perspective, she felt the same way when returning to the past and seeing what the Enchanted Forest, Neverland and other realms possessed. He slightly turned his head to look at her when she laughed at his comment. It was so wonderful to see her express such emotions like happiness and amusement. It seemed that he saw tears fall from her eyes more than a smile grace her beautiful lips. And he wanted her to be happy. He wanted her to have more moments such as these where she could lower her guard and just enjoy the quiet and peaceful moments that life seldom offered her. He truly felt honored that she chose him to share such moments with. Realizing that his eyes remained on her with a soft and intent gaze, he smiled himself and snapped out of whatever trance her beauty often placed him in.
"Glad you agree," he stated with that same arrogant confidence when she commented about how he was more handsome. "What is, Disney?" He questioned. What it the author who butchered all of their stories? He then turned his head back to the screen when she commented about how Pan's shadow had been more of an ass in real life, finally now noticing what exactly the shadow was doing. "The shadow is a vile entity who kidnapped young boys from their bedroom, not dance around the room and act a fool." What sort of weird version was this? What exactly were they trying to portray? That Pan was a jolly fellow who enjoyed playing innocent games? So bizarre indeed. Killian's attention diverted from the screen once more when he took notice of Emma's difficulty in opening her drink. Also quite aware that she would most likely not ask him to open it for him. So he decided to be a gentleman and take the initiative.
"Need a hand there, love?" He asked, making an intentional pun now that he had a spare hand to offer. He moved his hand that had been casually draped along the back of the couch, and moved it forward so that it conveniently wrapped around her to press her closer to him as he took the bottle from this angle. He knew he could have easily moved his arm from behind her, but . . . his actions and flirtations were very deliberate. He brought the bottle to his lips, once again using his teeth to open the cap as it came off. He raised the hand that held his own beer and took the bottle cap out, still clutching her drink, still having his arm around her to have her close to him as he slightly leaned toward her, their faces mere inches apart. "And what shall my reward be for assisting a damsel in distress, for there is nothing more distressing than not being able to open one's drink," he said, clear suggestiveness in his voice as he looked at her with the same playful and teasing smirk.

Emma found herself having to explain what Disney was. This wasn't exactly a conversation she'd ever thought she would have while on a date. "Well," she blinked, considering for a moment how to explain it. "It's a corporation, started by a guy and his brother and..they basically take fairy tales written by The Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson, and a bunch of others, then they adapt them in to movies. Usually cartoons...and usually filled with happy bouncy music." She'd save the discussion about Mickey Mouse and all that jazz for a later time. Or.. you know, never, if she could get away with it. After she commented on the shadow of Pan, Killian had a comment about him as well. About how it was a vile creature, and the things the real shadow had done. "Yeah, they definitely have a way of downplaying evil." And over dramatizing those who were named as villains but were really..well, the good guys.
He asked if she needed help, but before she could answer, he pulled her closer to him and grabbed the bottle. She was entranced as she watched him lifting it to his mouth, and open it with his teeth. Suddenly, her body tensed as she gazed in to his eyes. Emma liked tough guys, and what was more attractive then a gorgeous guy opening a bottle with nothing but his teeth while giving her -those- eyes. "Uh.." she muttered as he asked what his reward would be. Had she forgotten how to breathe? This could definitely be dangerous territory, and she could feel the electricity filling the air. A tell that the two of them were about to share a kiss. However, since Emma was still Emma, she quickly recovered - although she was still quite flushed - and retorted with a witty comment. "Your reward is.. me not making fun of you when you see what stories did to your pretty face." She lifted a hand and playfully tapped his chin. She stared in to his eyes with a little grin on her lips though, showing him that she would have definitely went in for the kiss if she were to let her guard down enough.

Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT She even seemed to agree that this world had odd objects. He slightly turned his head to look at her when she laughed at his comment. It was so wonderful to see her express such emotions like happiness and amusement. He truly felt honored that she chose him to share such moments with. Realizing that his eyes remained on her with a soft and intent gaze, he smiled himself and snapped out of whatever trance her beauty often placed him in.
A corporation? What exactly was that? Killian refrained from asking, not wanting to sound too daft. It was clear that if he intended to live in this world, he needed to do some research on current events and what sort of devices they had here. Updating his wardrobe was the first time; next, came familiarity with surrounding items and their uses. "Well, they were certainly grossly misinformed about the nature of these fairy tales." For if they believe them to be filled with this happy, funny, lighthearted mood, then they were sorely mistaken. A person's happy ever after was not so easily attained as these stories showed them to be. And this ridiculous cartoon version of Pan who seemed too innocent and kind to be remotely close to accuracy . . . well, Killian was certain it was just a fraction of how much they got wrong. But luckily, he wasn't entirely focused on the cartoon at the moment. Not when their bodies and lips were so close. Not when she looked at him the way she did, and offered him a tease before touching his chin. His lips curved into an amused smile at her words. He quite enjoyed the fact that she was so unpredictable.
"Then you should enjoy my pretty face as much as you can, Swan," he told her, clearly flirtation and the same suggestiveness in his tone of voice. "And I can think of a way to do that," he added, as he leaned forward until their lips touched. He felt the strong sensation fill his entire body as it always did whenever they kissed. It reinforced how much he cared for her; how much he loved her. And he also knew that she often had her guard raised, yet from the moment he had first kissed him in Neverland . . . he knew then that whatever distance she had placed between them, was not because she did not feel the same way. And their bond had only strengthened since then, to this moment now, where they were seated on her couch, enjoying their first date. He deepened the kiss a little, wishing he could drop the bottle of beer from his hand so that he could feel her skin under his touch. But all he could do was savor her taste and let his emotions overwhelm him in the best way possible. Whatever Emma Swan had done to him, he was completely enthralled by her and knew such feelings would never diminish.

It was easy to tell that Killian had no idea what Emma was talking about, but he didn't press the issue so she didn't either. There was plenty of time to teach him about the seemingly small but strangely important parts of the world without magic. For now though, they were settled in Storybrooke where such things didn't exist. It was made up of small businesses.. that's it. It was nice... it was innocent, and that was likely how it would stay. Definitely nothing like the rest of the world. Killian was absolutely gorgeous. It all started with a kiss, as all great romances did.. It was just a very unlikely match. When she first met him, she wouldn't have imagined that he'd be the one to shatter her walls, yet here he was.. proving her wrong over and over again. As the two of them gazed in to each others eyes, after her little tease, she could tell that the moment was far from over.
He spoke of a way she could continue to enjoy his pretty face, and then he leaned in and suddenly her lips were captured with his. There was something about him that sent a jolt flowing through her entire body, and electrifying her blood. Her eyelashes fluttered closed and she allowed herself to fall in to that old habit of letting Killian pull her out of her troubled mind completely, and in to some sort of existence where she had nothing to worry about. It was just her, and him. The thought terrified her, but she allowed herself to give in, because it was a nice evening - and this made it even better somehow. She allowed the kiss to linger for a moment, and then she leaned out of the kiss, inhaling a sharp breath indicating that she had forgotten how to breathe for a moment. Her cheeks were pink as she slowly opened her eyes. "Killian.." There it was. She was about to ruin everything.
She clutched her beer bottle that was thankfully so cold - she needed it - and sighed, deciding to push her fears aside. So, switching gears, she went from shifting in her seat to relaxing and even smiling a little. "How does someone so in love with himself have any room in there for someone else?" Her smile grew as she picked on him. "Oh! Look at that. There you are." She lifted a hand and pointed at the television at Captain Hook, looking -nothing- like Killian.

Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT He felt her react to the kiss; embrace it even. Allowing herself to lose all thoughts of everything else around them, just as he had wanted her to tonight. The softness of her lips and the way his entire body became consumed with indescribable emotions, made him wish that this moment never had to end. He wished they could spend the entirety of the night like this, and awake in the morning in each other's arms. But he also knew that moving too quickly was not an option, and that reality began to set in as she slowly pulled away from the embrace.
His eyes remained closed for a few moments longer as he began to recollect himself. He slowly opened them, his gaze filled with soft longing as his eyes remained on her lips before going to her own eyes to meet her gaze. He knew that tone all too well, when she said his name like that. Though it was followed with a tease and he wondered if it was because she did not want to delve into any conversation -- or actions -- about them. But even with the tease, he felt the need to respond with something less sarcastic and humorous. With her now holding her bottle, one hand was free and he raised it to her cheek, gently caressing it with his thumb.
"It is not myself that has left no room for anything or anyone else to love." It was her. After Milah, he had not thought it possible to feel love again, yet with Emma, it had been entirely different. She made him want to be a better man; to be the man he once was before his pirating years. A man of honor. And he would strive to be so, to prove himself well deserved of her affections. The moment was broken when she suddenly pointed to the screen and spoke of how 'he' was there.
Killian turned his head to look at the television, and his expression became one of clear disapproval. "Bloody hell," he stated in slight disbelief. That was supposed to be him?! That fool of a man?! "What the hell am I doing?" He questioned somewhat rhetorically. "And what am I wearing?" He looked . . . so far beyond anything remotely flattering. "Is this truly how I am perceived by this, Disney corporation?" He questioned, slightly raising an eyebrow as he watched his reputation get destroyed and massacred thanks to this cartoon movie -- or whatever it was called.

Killian had a very irritatingly sweet way of looking right through her, and he was right. It was a case of 'it's not you, it's me'. That wasn't going to stop Emma, however.. she wanted to get past this weird issue that she had with letting people in. It took what she once thought were fictional characters to allow her to let anyone close at all. After Neal, Emma thought she'd never fall for anyone again, but then there was Graham, August, and Neal once more and they all ended badly. Emma was afraid.. afraid that if she let herself fall again, that this time it would shatter her to a point of no return. Part of her honestly thought that she too, was cursed. She stayed silent, not responding to him. She simply gazed in to his eyes, acknowledging that he was correct.
The tense moment was broken by Killian seeing his image on the television screen. She couldn't help but laugh. She lifted her beer to her lips, took a drink and then lowered the bottle to the table in front of her. She placed it on a coaster, of course. One of the worst things in the world was an angry Snow White.. Emma knew that first hand. "Don't worry. I like the real version far better." She gave him a smile. After a moment, she grabbed the remote and clicked the television off. "You know," she started, deciding to just talk with him, instead of having any sort of distraction. "I kind of feel cheated out of my own story. I wonder what it would have been like if I would have stayed in the Enchanted Forest. What would my fairy tale be?" She asked, gazing off in to the distance.

Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT She laughed at his reaction to seeing this obscure version of himself and once again, he basked in the enjoyment of hearing her laugh and seeing her smile. Even if it came at the expense of seeing this ridiculous cartoon of himself . . . which really, was nothing like him at all. She assured him that she liked him better than this version and that was at least some comfort. She really hadn't been exaggerating when he'd asked her sometime back what he was like in the stories; he was everything she had briefly described him to be . . . and worse. Thank god she turned it off; he was all too relieved to no longer see whoever that man was pretending to be. He took another swig of his drink, knowing that what he saw tonight would haunt his mind forever.
Her words distracted the conversation from the red clad fool they had just witnessed and instead, focused on what could have been with her in the fairy tale realm. He turned a little to face her properly, reflecting on her words, deciding how she would have been in this other world she had come from, yet had not been brought up in. "You don't need to be in another realm to have your own fairy tale, lass. You are the greatest proof of that," he told her. For she was an integral part of fairy tales. Yet he understood what she meant, and decided to help build some perspective. "Though had you been there, I imagine you'd been raised as a princess and future queen should. Fair. Just. Strong." Knowing her parents, she would not been a spoiled, helpless royal.
"You probably would have married some prince from another land," he continued, on a lighter note. Though the thought of her with another man, caused him discomfort. He knew he had been jealous when Neal came back into her life but that he also had no choice but to take a step back. "And that fact alone makes me relieved were not brought up there," he added with a bit of a smile. "But you have your own story here, Swan. One that is far greater than any you could have had elsewhere." He believed that, because what happened to her in this world, shaped who she had become and he was completely in love with that woman. How could he think she was anything apart from wonderful in how she turned out to be.

Emma could see the look of relief on Killian's face and knew that she made the right decision by shutting off the tv. Besides, it was nice to hear nothing else aside from his voice while the two of them spoke. At this point, she was hardly even paying attention to her beer. She listened to him tell her what her tale would probably be like should she have lived her life in the Enchanted Forest. Yes, she would have likely been raised and groomed to one day be a Queen..and her parents wouldn't ever let her be entitled as she grew.. but then there was the fact that she had magic. Would it have made a difference? Still though, she continued to listen to him with a smile on her lips. The smile turned in to a grin as he spoke of her marrying a prince and whatnot, and when he was finished speaking, she countered his statement.
"You never know that I would marry a prince. I may have met a charming pirate and ran away with him. It wouldn't be the weirdest situation I've ever heard of." She shrugged lightly. She had to admit, the idea of running away and setting off to sea with a pirate sounded like something that she would have done. She was never one for playing by the rules..but then again, maybe in another land and another time that would have been different. Still though, something told her that if she met him back then..she would have been charmed - eventually - just as she was now. She pursed her lips. "It's still weird to think that i'm a princess.. but you're right. I can still have my fairy tale. Maybe you can help me write it.."

All the more reason to enjoy the quiet moments. Right Now WE HAVE A QUIET MOMENT He smiled as she suggested that she could have met a charming pirate and run away with him. She was indeed correct in saying that it was not the most bizarre circumstance to consider, after all else that they had seen. But to know that she thought of them in such terms, that this . . . what they had now could have happened over there, well, it continued to fill him with a strong sense of pride. Pride, that he was the man she had -- eventually -- chosen to be with. Time was nothing though. He would have waited years and years for her, as he was not a man who so easily gave up.
"The thought of having you aboard my ship is indeed an enjoyable one," he admitted, thinking on what sort of life they could have had. His mind briefly went to Milah; about all she had left behind in going with him -- mainly Bae. She often regretted leaving her son, and had they done things differently, perhaps they would have found a way to bring him with them. "But you would have had a family. And believe me when I say that you would miss them; even regret leaving them." The man he was before would have taken her with him without a second thought. But the man he was now, the better man he became thanks to Emma, could not be so selfish. Deciding to lighten the mood a little, he continued. "Besides, you saw the pirate I was when we went back in the past. Think you could have fallen for a drunk bloke like him?" Killian said, teasing himself and the way he had been before her.
She then spoke of how it was weird to consider herself a princess, and asked him to help her write it. He set down his beer, freeing both his hands. A soft smile then formed on his lips as he looked at her intently. One free hand moved to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear while the other took her hand in his, casually holding it. "It would be an honor," he told her in a strongly sincere voice. An honor, to help her write her story. To even be a part of it. He then raised her hand in his to his lips, lightly kissing the back of her hand. "You may not have been raised a princess here, but you are far greater than any princess or queen could ever hope to be." Because she had an inner strength that they didn't. It wasn't just her magic that made her strong -- though that was of course part of it -- but it was also her character, her inner strength, and her heart. All that which encompassed Emma Swan. template by isabella
