Maleficent has blonde hair, and blue eyes. In the Enchanted forest, she was commonly seen wearing a head piece meant to look like horns and she was always wore the colors black and purple.
Her taste in colors still remain in modern times, but now she has chosen to take more to leather than anything else, and she no longer wears the head piece, figuring that it clashes far too much with modern day garb.

.:Personality:.
Maleficent is a very misunderstood individual. The only reason she is so bitter and angry is because she had love and lost it so abruptly thanks to another fairy. She can be civil if people are kind enough to her, but she refuses to willingly give her friendship to anyone. Revenge is the first and foremost thing on her mind, and she will step on anyone she has to in order to get it.
She has a darkened heart, so getting in to it is nearly impossible. If she fell in love again, it would likely be with someone who she could share a darkness with.. She has absolutely no desire to be good, and kind again.. for it only led to heartache, and easy manipulation.

.:History:.
Maleficent was once a fairy. She had fallen in love with a man, but the man was sought after by someone else.. another fairy who had been angry with her. To ensure that neither would have him, the other fairy put a spell on him so that he'd fall in love with another.. the daughter of a King. Maleficent was angry, and bitter so she completely disbanded from the fairies, keeping her powers intact even though her anger made her dark, and therefore turned her magic dark.
Deciding she needed revenge, Maleficent sought out the Dark One so that he could teach her his ways.. But she could never find him. It seemed that the two of them crossing paths was never meant to be. In a moment of weakness, she walked to a lake where she attempted to drown herself. She had thought she succeeded when she landed in the Underworld, but that wasn't the case. She was still very much alive. It was there, that she met Hades.. He had been trapped there.
He had magic, and she wanted to know more.. so she made a bargain. She would trade her heart for his soul, that way they could both return to the realm of the living. Instead of taking her heart, darkness merely consumed it until it was black and no longer as alive it had once been. It suited Maleficent just fine.. the last time it was still beating and glowing, it had broken her.. and it would never happen again.
When she returned to the Enchanted Forest with Hades, she had realized that she had been washed on to the shore instead of drowning, and that's why she had been spared. Once she had learned basic things that she had needed to know from Hades, she left him and returned to the kingdom that the man whom she had once loved now ruled over. She felt powerful enough with her black heart, her darkness consumed magic, and the lessons she had learned from Hades to get the revenge that she had needed.
During the gift giving ceremony for the King's daughter, she used a staff she had crafted from a branch and vines, fitted with a crystal ball, to summon up her magic to put a curse on the child who was named Aurora. It was a sleeping curse that would be brought about on the child as well as the kingdom when the girl turned sixteen. Maleficent then vanished, allowing the kingdom to stir in their frenzied emotions.
It wasn't much later that she had met Queen Regina. The two had bonded over the fact that they were both angry, and bitter with the world. They had both had love and lost it thanks to someone else, and they became - in loose terms - friends. However, that friendship was tested when Maleficent's sleep spell didn't work well enough for Regina on account of it being broken by True Love's kiss, and so the two of them had a battle of magic.
Maleficent would have won, she was sure, if it wasn't for the fact that Regina tried to kill the only thing Maleficent had in the world that she loved - that was her pet, a black unicorn who she used as her eyes and ears in the forest so she would never be spotted. Saving the unicorn was Maleficent's demise... surprisingly enough, since she was Regina's only friend.. she was kept alive.
In Storybrooke, Maleficent was stuck in a set of caves that she was meant to guard for Regina. She has been stabilized there, never able to die..and never able to be freed.| ~ • ~ | Sample Post | ~ • ~ |
Maleficent was sick of this cave. It had been a punishment by Regina.. she was her only friend, after all, and wanted her alive. However, since she hand't seen Regina in quite some time, she merely figured that either Regina had gotten what was coming her and the whole town turned on her, or maybe she just turned soft and decided to forget her dear friend that resided eternally in the cave beneath the town. She would have been driven mad if it wasn't for the fact that she still held out hope that she'd be free from this prison one day.
The longer she stayed trapped, the worse things would surely get for anyone in Storybrooke who had ever crossed her..including Regina. The only thing that came from her entrapment was the urge to destroy. She seethed and stewed in her anger until it bubbled to the surface. Although, nothing came from getting angry...not to mention, Recklessness wasn't Maleficent's style. Getting mad wasn't her way.. oh no. She would get even. "Enjoy what happiness you may have, Storybrooke.. because when I'm free," she mused to herself as she lightly twirled her fingers through her hair. "You're all going to be miserable..."
