Silver bells, silver bells, it's christmas time in the city ring-a-ling
Regina Mills wasn't even sure what to get for Emma Swan, but that was apparently who she was supposed to be Secret Santa for. The irony of it all, she thought. So she had gone shopping and couldn't find anything on the first day. Then it was the second day. Then the third. Here she was on the fourth, getting aggravated at trying to find Swan something. She shouldn't care what she got for Emma; Emma had brought Marian back to Robin, and Regina had lost all hope of happiness. But this was Christmas. Even Regina had felt the spirit as it had gotten closer. Finally, Regina ended up checking up on her own things that she could possibly give to her. Regina looked at the list again and then back at the items she had pulled out, putting back three of the four items that she had picked out. The item she finally picked out she put in a small box and smiled to herself at the memory behind it. She knew that Emma would probably love it after hearing the story behind it. Even after all the issues that had been caused by Marian, the two still shared a common interest; Henry. Taking a breath she set it on her bed and got ready to go, wearing something new even to present the gift to her. It was a little early for Christmas, so she thought she would check the Sherrif's station to see if Emma was there. Hearing the bell as Regina entered, she clutched the box, anxiety waving over her. She would have a hard time letting go of this gift, but it would hold sentimentality to it, and that's what Emma wanted, right? It wasn't covering anything else on this list, and she wasn't going to go get a dog. But that should be okay. Taking a deep breath, she called out, "Emma? Are you here?" hear them ring soon it will be christmas day

Emma had been busy wrapping gifts of her own. She had gotten two secret santa gifts, and one of them wasn't really much of a surprise.. she would have gotten Henry something anyway. However, she had no idea that her secret santa was going to be Regina Mills. She heard the woman's voice calling to her and she walked from the back room. "Regina," she spoke in a rather surprised voice. "Hey, Merry Christmas," She smiled, shoving her hands in her pockets. She didn't look like she was there to kill her or anything..so that was a plus. However, the two of them were getting along much better these days.
She had noticed the box in Regina's hand, and the way she looked a little nervous. Emma quirked a brow and took a step toward her. "So you're my Secret Santa.." she gave her a small smile. "Kind of ironic, but hey..that's what these things are for. Super awkward family and friend moments. Are.. you okay?" She was concerned for Regina. She did want to be her friend, of course. Regina was like family.. she was Henry's other mom, after all. She wanted the two of them to get along..and since Robin was -determined- to be with Regina, it wasn't so bad..right?

Silver bells, silver bells, it's christmas time in the city ring-a-ling
Regina felt out of place standing there in the station. She knew she didn't really belong here, but it was still disconcerting to be in this place. She was, however, grateful that there wasn't an audience for this. She didn't want very many people to see her giving a gift to Emma, the one she was mad at for bringing Marian back into the picture. To be fair, if it weren't for the Christmas spirit going around, she probably wouldn't be paying the woman a visit. It seemed that Emma had guessed the reason why Regina was here and she looked down at the box, laughing weakly. "Yes, I suppose that's true." She clicked her fingers on the box for a moment, hesitating on letting what was inside go, but after a moment, she knew it was what Emma would appreciate. Something of sentimental value. Yes, they seemed to be getting along much better now, but it was still difficult at times. Everything had consequences, and Robin seemed pretty determined to be with Regina now. But the fact still remained that he was still married. Pushing the thought aside, Regina handed her the small gift box. "I bought this back when I adopted Henry. It was a keepsake of mine, and I feel it's time for you to have it." Inside the box was a heart-shaped locket with a picture of Henry when he was first brought to Regina's home after the adoption got approved. hear them ring soon it will be christmas day

Emma was lost on what the gift could have been, but she took the box and thanked Regina anyway. She opened it, and what she saw was a locket. "What's this?" She asked before opening the small clasp. When she opened the locket, she saw a picture of a baby. Instantly, she knew who the baby was, even though she had only saw him so briefly when he was born. Her eyes began to well up with tears, and she lifted her gaze from the photo to Regina. "Regina," she whispered. "This.. this means more to me than you could ever know." For the first time in a long time, she was completely choked up. "Just so you know.. I'm going to hug you now. Okay?"
Before the woman could really answer, Emma flung her arms around Regina and hugged her tightly. Affection from Emma wasn't something that came easily. "This is honestly one of the best gifts I've ever gotten." She leaned back, and looked at Regina. "You don't have to let me keep this one, Regina. Not if it's your only one. I have a copy machine in here.. I.. I could make a copy for myself. The fact that you even want to share it with me is..so.. so amazing of you."

Regina watched as Emma looked curiously at the box, and when the other woman asked what it was, she chuckled a bit. "That's why you're supposed to open it. So you can find out." She was surprised to see the other woman getting all choked up over it. It was a sentimental thing, and despite the fact that currently they did have differences, she didn't want to give Emma the wrong gift. It was a relief to find out that it wasn't because she hated it--because of course she wouldn't. It was a picture of Henry, after all. And Henry was their son. "I know Henry means a lot to you, just like he means a lot to me."
Regina widened her eyes a bit when Emma told her that she was going to hug her now. In the next instant, Emma's arms were around her, wrapping her in the hug. She hesitated for only a second before returning the hug and patting the other woman's back. She smiled when she heard that this was one of the best gifts that she had ever gotten. "I'm glad you like it, Emma. Merry Christmas."
The next thing Emma said had Regina's eyebrow raising up before she took the locket from the woman, looking at it for a moment. She looked up at Emma, and gave her another smile. "Trust me, I have a copy already. Turn around and I'll put it on you for you."
