Maleficent sighed as she stared at the orb on top of the staff that she held in her hand. There was a stranger at her door. "Good Goddess," she muttered to herself. "He wears more eye makeup than I do..." she slowly shook head, while the nails on her free hand tapped against the arm of her throne. She didn't live in a castle, she lived in sort of a cave, in the Enchanted Forest, and it was concealed by thousands of large vines and thorns to warn everyone to stay away. No one could find her unless she wanted to be found. Someone must have told the man where to find her.. Kudos to him for making it this far. "Oh well.. must be desperate. Might as well see what he wants. It might give me a giggle."
With a very small amused smile, she lightly slammed her staff on the floor, making a green mist roll from it. The fog rolled out of the cave, and as though it were a large hand, it parted the thorns away from one side of the cave, granting the man permission to enter. "Who dares to call on me?" She asked from the shadows as she remained perched on her throne. The mist vanished, leaving him standing there alone, while flames flickered in torches on the walls that illuminated him, but not her. "Is there something I can give you a..Hand with?" A playful smirk curved on to her lips, even though he couldn't see it - unless he had really impressive night vision.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian knew that this was madness, even for him. He had been warned of this particular fallen fairy's powers but that did not stop him from seeking her out. He needed to find that dagger, and he hoped she would help him. The price would not come cheap, but he had devoted his life to avenging Milah's death and killing the Dark One. In order to destroy someone so powerful, he needed a powerful ally.
And he hoped to build that with Maleficent. However, her place of dwelling was bloody difficult to get into. It was covered with vines, and he had been attempting to chop each one with his hook, slicing each one but there was far too many. And they were damn prickly! "This better be worth it," he mumbled, stopping to try to formulate a new plan that didn't involve uselessly destroying vines when there was a hundred more where that came from.
In his moment of thought, he noticed the vines suddenly part. Oh wonderful. While he didn't have to strike them down, he now knew that he lost the element of surprise. No matter, he had come here with a purpose and he was going to achieve it. He walked right into the cave, then hearing a voice emitting from it, without seeing the source. "How delightfully ominous," he stated, a bit sarcastically, with a smirk playing on his lips. He had no idea if she could hear him. Truth be told, he was well aware that this could be the death of him. He wasn't about to underestimate her powers, nor feel anything less than intimidated.
But showing it would be to show weakness. There was a chill that made its way through his bones . . . but he have to keep face. He had to show her that he was no weakling, easy to dispose of. Her latter comment made him realize that she not only knew he was here, but knew what he looked like. Where was she seeing him from, when all he saw was darkness around him. "Might you return the favor by allowing me to see you," he questioned, his smirk fading as his hand went to the hilt of his sword, thought kept in its sheath, just in case a threat popped out.

The man sporting the guy liner had a wit about him that amused Maleficent. However, he had a fear in him.. she could sense that as though she were a blood hound. He wouldn't show it though..he hid it as much as possible behind witty comments and smirks. She supposed she'd give in to his request and show herself to him. There was nothing to hide. Still though.. she wouldn't let him off that easily. "Why ever would I reveal myself? It was you who came to me, was it not? Unless of course, you fear things that lurk in the darkness..." She stood up from her throne, and she stepped forth from the shadows in to the light. When she was illuminated, she had one hand wrapped around her staff while her other was at her side, calling forth her pet.
"You do not have to draw your weapon. Again.. you have come seeking me which means that if anyone is a threat here, it is you. And I do hope that isn't the case. I will, however, use force if necessary." Her free hand moved to her hip as Onyx, the black unicorn, stood at her side. "Now...why have you come to me?" It wasn't often that someone had come to Maleficent for help and made it this far. Usually they would turn tail at the sight of the brambles and run away.. But this man did not. He would have likely tried to climb them if it meant a chance to speak to Maleficent. He must have had quite a cause if he had been willing to go through such lengths. "Since you were so determined, I wager it is for either love, or revenge."

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook listened as she questioned why she should reveal her own self, when it was he who sought her out. It made sense. He had known coming here that it would not be easy. That he may not even survive the journey. But it was well worth the risk. "I'm hardly afraid of the dark," he said with a certain cockiness rather than defiance or over defensive manner.
"After all, there are pleasures that can be found in the darkness, wouldn't you say" he said with a slight smirk, using this to conceal whatever fear he had. Not in death, but that he may fail in avenging Milah. That his life's mission would be to no avail. And that, was what scared him above all else. His words were also an attempt to show her that he was no danger. That he had not come here to threaten her . . . besides, he knew that she could take him down with one wave of her magic filled hand. He was hardly a match, but he refused to let that knowledge hinder him.
He then saw a figure come into view and he slightly raised his chin as his eyes locked onto her. Ah yes. She did indeed have quite the presence, as he had heard. Now he was witnessing it in the flesh. And quite a vision she proved to be. He put his sword away, holding out his hand and hook to show he would not reach for it again. "Afraid I can't exactly put this particular weapon down," he said with slight sarcasm, though with truth, motioning to his hook. "It's a bit of an inconvenience to do so," he added with the same casual tone. "I'm not here to pose a threat," he added, just so they were clear on that. But he also knew that he would have to elaborate on his reasons for being here. Her question, transitioned into that conversation quite perfectly.
"A combination of both," he answered, his tone starting to get more serious, especially as he further explained. Any jest, sarcasm, or cheekiness he held up to this point, was gone. "I seek to destroy the Dark One." He left it at that, for now, needing to gage her reaction before he went on to explain how. Hell, for all he knew she could be allied with the Crocodile. And he wasn't about to reveal that he knew how to kill Rumple, unless he knew she was willing to help . . . or at least intrigued by the concept.

Much like an animal, Maleficent could sense fear.. and although he had it in him, he didn't show it..which was rather impressive and rather refreshing. When he refused to disarm himself, she merely gave him a small nod. "Very well then.. I'll take your word that you won't post a threat. Because i'm trusting you, it would be a very bad idea to do anything to harm that trust. I don't give it out to just anyone." In fact, she never honestly put her trust in anyone at all. It was a very dangerous habit that she hadn't indulged in in quite a long time.
She wasn't surprised to hear that he was seeking both. That meant that he was a lover scorned. Her next question, of why, was answered quickly enough. He mentioned the Dark One, and she immediately quirked a brow. "Well well.. You are brave.. or stupid. Perhaps the answer to that is both as well, hm?" She stepped closer to him and she as she did, the torches in the cave lit, illuminating her along the way. She quickly took note of his hook and she lifted her gaze to meet his. "I take it this is the Dark One's handy work?" She paused for a moment, and laughed quietly, lifting her free hand - that wasn't wrapped around her staff - to her lips, covering her smile. "Sorry. I couldn't help myself. Anyway, you surely can't expect to beat the Dark One with merely a sword and a hook."
She looked him over again, and sighed. She was a sucker for a charity case. She lightly tapped her staff against the cave floor. "Allow me to give you a hand, tall dark and handless." As green fog rolled over the cave floor, she lifted her own hand, waved it, and the fog rolled over his hook, forming a hand where the hook had once been. "Now," She placed her free hand on her hip, and looked him over. "How can I be of service to you? What exactly would you like me to do about the Dark One? And more importantly.. why should I help?"

i'd risk my life FOR TWO THINGS: LOVE AND REVENGE She spoke of how it would be unwise to betray whatever limited trust she was giving him. He knew that to be true. He also knew that this kind of trust was very tenuous and he wasn't about to do something to cause her to change her mind. In this pursuit of vengeance, it would be most beneficial to have powerful allies; ones who perhaps were not overly fond of the Dark One -- which was something he still had yet to determine. "I have no intention of betraying you," he told her honestly. If she couldn't help, then he would just walk away. He had no reason to go against her.
She was not the one who robbed him of the woman he loved. She then questioned whether he was brave or stupid, perhaps both. "I prefer to say brave and devilishly handsome," he corrected in a bit of a cheeky tone, not about to call himself stupid for coming here. Besides, he was alive thus far; he just needed to play his cards right because either way, he intended to walk out of here alive. She then commented on his hook, assuming correctly that it was the Dark One's work. Furthermore, she stated that he could not hope to defeat the dark one with a single hand and sword. He was about to respond when she seemed to be doing something. A green fog emerged and moved over his hook; when it was gone, what remained caused him to stare. His hand.
He looked at it. flexing his fingers repeatedly. To have his hand once more, to feel it in his control . . . well, it was indeed a wonderful feeling. Why had she done it though? His eyes went to hers once more as she continued to question how she could help, and why she should help. "Undoing the Dark One's work reveals how powerful you are," he began to say, gratitude in his voice without so much as saying the words. "But it also shows that all those who are powerful, are stifled by him. For they know that a great deal falls under his control and unfolds how he wills it to." He was after all the Dark One, and Hook was hoping to reach her on such a level. "Imagine if you were to eliminate one of the most powerful sorcerers. That would leave you at the top of the list, savy." He paused for a moment, glancing at his hand once more, enjoying the sensation of having it back.
"You could either choose to harness all his power, or eliminate him as a threat, once and for all." He of course didn't know if she was closely allied with him; he only hoped that if she was, it was an alliance based on fear of what could happen if one crossed the Dark One. "I have learned of what his weakness is; what can be used against him. What can ultimately destroy him." But Hook would not yet reveal that. "The only question that remains, is whether you wish to join me in destroying the Dark One." He needed to appeal to her on this level, for he had nothing of value himself to offer her. He could only make promise of destroying Rumple, and granting her more power. Was that not what all sorcerers wanted?
