Maleficent had just been pulled out of the Underworld, only to find out that her heart was no longer intact, and she was wearing soaked clothes. At first, she had no memory of what had happened in the underworld. Everything was so hazy. She had found a small cave where she took shelter until she could figure out what had happened, and she started a fire using her magic. She couldn't even be upset.. her heart was no longer in her chest. She wasn't entirely sure what she had been feeling.
When the fire had dried her off, and she was warm, she had time to think. To remember what had happened. She had met a man in the Underworld who needed his freedom. She could feel the power radiating off of him, and her desire for anger coaxed her in to bartering for his soul.. She gave away her heart to save a man she didn't know. For what? Power..that must have been it. Without a heart she could feel nothing else.. And what a relief that was. Her heart had gotten her in to nothing but trouble, and caused her pain. Without it, she was better off.
But what ever happened to the man who's soul she saved from the Underworld? Would he really come to her? Would he teach her the ways of complete darkness? Would he help her get vengence on the Blue fairy? She closed her eyes, and spoke his name, wondering if it would make him appear. "Hades.." she called on the wind.

game. set. match MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME: SUDDEN DEATH Finally. FINALLY. Hades had found a way out. A way out of this hell hole that he had called home for far too long. He only hoped that the Fates were correct in their theory, and that soon enough . . . with an unguarded Underworld, the spirits and creatures would break free.
What a glorious image that entered Hades mind. The hard part was now over. Thanks to a deal with Maleficent, he had gained his freedom. Never had he been more glad for woman's suffering that had resulted in her desire to take her own life. It certainly worked out in his favor.
He stood in the forest, deeply inhaling that fresh air that he had so long craved. First stop, out of the Underworld. Next stop, Mount Olympus. Only he would be there as its king; not as Zeus' banished brother. The calling of his name pulled Hades out of these wonderful thoughts, knowing who was summoning him. Not many knew him . . . there were very few who wandered among the land of the living who could easily recognize him.
This woman, Maleficent, was one of the select few. Heading to the nearby caves, he entered, seeing her seated before a fire. "You called?" He questioned, his tone far too casual for the circumstances. "Now why do you look all dark and dreary?" He inquired with a bit of a smile, referring to her state which looked . . . well, less than menacing. "Lord got your heart?" He asked in the continued teasing voice, his words playing on the saying 'cat got your tongue' . . . only his words were rather literal.

Maleficent wasn't entirely sure if she'd get an answer. She didn't really know how these things worked. Trying was the only thing she could do, though. The effort proved to be fruitful when she saw the shadow of the very man who's freedom she had bartered her heart for. It was a win win situation, really. He got to be free, and she no longer had to feel. When the man came closer to her, and spoke, she rose to her feet. "Lord got your heart?" he had asked. Ah.. sarcastic. She'd certainly heard worse. "He wouldn't be the first, but he'll surely be the last." She mused without emotion. It felt different than she had thought. She had assumed she'd just be cold, and unfeeling..but she was completely lacking any sort of emotion. She felt.. nothing. "Are you enjoying your freedom?"
She hadn't regretted bargaining for him to be free from the Underworld.. however, she wasn't going to let this go without getting any sort of credit. "I'll make you one more deal. I'll let you be on your way to wherever it is that you're going, and I won't bother you again.. If you teach me how to strengthen my dark magic." It was a shot in the dark, really. She wasn't entirely sure if he could even do it.. But he was the Lord of the Underworld, right? So he must have known something about harnessing evil. "I want everyone with pureness in their hearts to suffer as I have. That's not asking so much.. Is it?"

game. set. match MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME: SUDDEN DEATH She played along with his words, though there seemed to be some truth to them as well. It didn't sound like she wanted her heart back any time soon, so until she did -- and was willing to give him something good for it -- he would keep it. They had after all, struck a bargain where they both gained something, and lost something. Fair was fair. "How poetic," he said with playful teasing. She then asked if he was enjoying his freedom and his answer was almost immediate.
"Tremendously," he responded, not about to deny the joy that escaping the Underworld brought him. "And the party has just barely begun," he added on with a sinister smile. He would enjoy it more when he had Zeus kneeling at his feet, pathetically begging for his life. Hades didn't plan to kill him right away. He planned to make his dear brother suffer. The taste of vengeance would be oh so sweet. But once again, Hsdes was forced to exercise patience and await the conditions that the Fates had told him of. Only then, could he strike.
She then made a proposal, wanting him to teach her the ways of dark magic . . . so that she could spread corruption, forcing those with pureness to suffer. "My kind of woman," he said smiling as he neared her, now standing directly in front of her. He cocked his head to the side, his eyes intently looking at her as if he was trying to read into her soul and mind, wanting to see just how serious she was about this. "Fortunately for you, I have some time to kill." God knows how long it would take for the Underworld to go to hell. Ha. Such irony in the statement.
"But all you're offering me is not bothering me again?" He both questioned and acknowledged. He put his finger on her chin, slightly tilting her head up. "That the best you can do?" He questioned. He was greedy enough to not do anything out of the kindness of his heart. The more he could get from someone, the better. But then again . . . maybe he wouldn't be too hard on her since she did give him his freedom, even if it was through the means of a bargain. He was quite aware that not just anyone could have given him that.

His words seemed as though they were sarcastic.. but maybe they held a truth to them as well. It was a little poetic.. at least in her mind. She was pleased though that he was at least enjoying his freedom. She wasn't quite sure that she was enjoying her's, though. Maybe she should have just opted to take his place instead.. but she was cast to live here, in the Enchanted Forest, for who knew how long. As a fairy, life was eternal, and it was lived in almost a paradise. Now she was somewhere in between, like some sort of Purgatory. She wasn't about to complain, though...because if she was stuck in the Underworld, than there was no way to exact revenge upon the ones who hurt her in the past. "Glad to hear it.. May you cause great destruction, and pain with your new found freedom." She spoke with a slow nod. It was sincere.. she definitely meant her words.
When he moved closer to her, staring at her, she merely stiffened herself so that he wouldn't see her as being weak. Her face remained stoic, but she still held eye contact. She was absolutely serious about what she wanted. She could have gone to the Dark One, but he was small potatoes...and she wasn't in the mood for dealing with his antics. He spoke of her being his kind of woman, and she merely quirked a brow. "Well then, I suppose you won't mind helping me then, hmm?" Of course she knew that he was only teasing with his hint of flirtation, but a girl could try. He then alluded to the fact that he wanted to be offered something other than his precious time being spared. A cold smile curved on Maleficent's lips.
"What if I told you that I could give you information on the fairies? Those little bugs will surely try to stop you from harming anyone. Especially the most righteous of them all.. The Blue Fairy." She placed one hand on her hip, and with the other, she conjured a staff with a small globe on top of it. "I was one of them once.. now I want to watch them all suffer. I'll gladly keep them off of your back while you paint the town red with blood, if you help me. Unless there's something else in particular that you're looking for.. I'll warn you now though, that I have no earthly riches, nor do I have any interest in them."
