There wasn't much in this, or any world, that could make Emma....nervous. However, the fact that Milah had come back from the dead terrified her to the core. There was something that happened every time Emma allowed herself to fall for someone - they would die. However, Hook was still alive. Cheated death more than once, and Emma was beginning to think that he was indeed strong enough to be with her without death impending. And while that seemed to be true, something still happened. His first true love was once again alive, and in Storybrooke.
She knew she couldn't avoid Milah forever. She had to meet her...and so, she walked around Storybrooke until she found her. Then again.. she had no idea what Milah was like, so she could have been anywhere, really. She was basically just wandering around aimlessly, heading toward the docks.. because that's where she always found Killian when he needed to take time to himself, so maybe Milah would be there too. It was a pirate thing. It then occurred to her that she had no idea what Milah had looked like.. well. This wouldn't be easy. "Okay, Emma.. she looks like a pirate and she's not Katalina. How many female pirates can there be?" That was probably a bad question to ask. Shaking her head..she continued on her quest.

Milah walked aimlessly on the docks to Storybrooke. It was a little chilly, and Milah was perfectly fine with it. It felt good against her skin as she felt burning for some odd reason. Watching the water ripple, Milah stopped walking and just stood looking at the water. It was so beautiful, the reason Milah loved the water. Part of her wanted to jump in, just for giggles, but Milah knew fairly certainly jumped into the water was not a good idea.
After a little bit of standing, Milah headed back to Killian's ship, hands trailing along the wood of the old dock rails as she walked. Getting a piece in her hand, Milah pulled her hand back and looked to the splinter. "I hate these things." Milah spoke to herself, as she rolled her eyes trying to use her fingernails to get the splinter out. Milah grew immune to the sensation of splinters after the many years she had spent on a ship. Not all places where as smooth to the touch.

Although she had no idea what she was looking for.. the fact that there was a woman standing on Killian's ship that was somehow back was a huge inclination. She stood there, frozen for a moment. She suddenly wished that she hadn't come alone.. what was she supposed to say? Or do? She looked up at the ship and just stared at the woman. "Uh.." she muttered quietly to herself. There was one thing she had in her mind.. Don't reveal who she really was. Or at least.. don't reveal that she was with Killian. "Hi there! You must be..Milah, right?" She gave the woman a smile. "I heard you just arrived.. Welcome to Storybrooke. I'm Emma.. the sheriff of the town." She was pretty. Really pretty..prettier than her? She shook those thoughts out of her mind. No no..she wouldn't think like that.
"Are you enjoying your stay so far?" Even though she had just gotten there.. somehow..again, she was shaking thoughts from her mind. Why was she even there? Perhaps, in the back of her mind, she was sizing up competition. Trying to see exactly what she was competing with.. and if that was even the case. Honestly, she knew nothing about Milah, and she had no idea what was happening in the poor woman's mind. However, no matter what she was feeling personally, she was still the savior. The greater good came first..always.

Milah stopped what she was doing, and dropped her hand down when she heard a woman speak. "Yes. I'm Milah." Milah replied politely, and then when Emma had introduced herself as the sheriff of the town, Milah slowly slid her hand down to the sword that rested snugly in her holster. If there was one thing Milah hated, it was police. And, sheriffs where even worse than police.
Keeping her hand there gently, in case the lady was to make a move, Milah could quickly escape. "I'm liking it so far, thank you. I think it's quite nice of a town. Things are quite odd here, but it's nice. I never really looked around though. Came here, only place I remember." Milah was weary of this Emma who stood before her. It wasn't often Milah was left in front of a sheriff without doing anything about it to escape.

Emma hadn't even made the connection of the pirate and cop thing, so she didn't think anything of it. "Good...glad to hear it." Man, this was awkward. She shoved her hands in her pockets, and was going to move forward, but she kept her distance. "Hey, if you get hungry, Granny's Diner has the best burgers in town." She looked down at her feet, and cleared her throat. "So um.. how -did- you get here, anyway?" She asked with a small tilt of her head. If Milah was there.. then could anyone come back? Or was it just her?
She was relieved, though, in a way. At least Rumple wasn't here.. if he was still around, he'd likely be fawning at the woman's feet, and Belle would be in a rather awkward position too. Then it hit her - yet again..there were way too many incestuous relationships in this place. And it also hit her, that not only was she the first true love of Hook, but she was also the grandmother of her son. For the longest time, Emma just stared at her. "I..I'm sorry, I really should be going. I have..um.. I have a family thing."

Milah nodded, a stern face on. She wasn't one to trust new people. Not noticing how hungry she was until the sheriff had mentioned something about good. Milah bit on the inside of her lip, and spoke. "Where would that be? I am quite hungry. I didn't even notice until you said, and now my stomach is doing flips on me." Milah spoke gently, before she looked back to her hand where the splinter was, but then quickly dropped her hand again. Oh well, it'll come out later. Stop playing with your hand. Pay attention. Milah snapped at herself inside of her head.
"To answer your question. I don't know how I got here. Only thing I remember is passing out after my cowardly ex-husband Rumplestiltskin ripped my heart out of my chest." Milah said honestly. "Next thing I know I am waking up, and in this weird place. I don't know how, or why." Milah flushed a bit, very annoyed with the question. It wasn't that she was mad at the person who asked it, but more solely for the fact she couldn't answer it.
"And it's fine. Go be with your family." Milah said as she nodded to the woman after hearing she had a family issue to take care of. Milah let her hand go a bit from her sword, and felt a bit more comfortable around the sheriff. She made no attempts to walk to herself, so that was a plus.

When Milah mentioned Rumple ripping her heart from her chest and crushing it, Emma felt angry, and hurt. Why was that such an attractive way of killing someone for the likes of Rumple, Cora, and at one time Regina? "Yeah.. that seems to be pretty unfortunately common.." She looked down at her feet again. "Oh, Granny's is about a block away on main street. Can't miss it." She gave the woman a smile. "I'm gonna head back there after I take my kid to his um.." How did she explain 'his other mother's house'? "To his other mom's house. The mayor. She's not like.. other mother as in I'm with her, I don't swing that way." She shook her head. "I actually have a boyfriend," She froze again, and gave the woman wide, deer-in-the-headlights look. "But he's...he's doing..something." She didn't have to be afraid..it's not like she'd -ask-..but still, it was stupid for her to say it. Right? Right.
"Well um.. Okay, but I should probably introduce myself before I go.. I'm Emma. Emma Swan," she gave her a big smile and a bit of a wave. "I'm sure I'll see you around." She didn't have any idea what else to say..but she didn't want to leave until Milah had a chance to introduce herself as well. It would be rather rude of her to just walk away from the docks.

Milah gave a sigh flu nod, and she closed her eyes for a bit. "Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me with Rumple." Milah then opened her eyes, and she looked to Emma. "He always was a coward, the reason I had left him. Apparently he wasn't so thrilled on that." Milah chuckled. Listening to Emma explain about the mother situation for her son left her confused. She had never heard of such a convoluted thing in her life.
"Alright. Thank you. I shall be headed there now. Maybe I will see you there. It was a pleasure to meet you Sheriff Swan." Milah said sincerely as she possibly could. She was thankful for the woman's help, but she was not exactly thrilled over the fact it was a sheriff. Though, granted it could be used as an advantage point should any future brawls break loose, Milah knew exactly now to escape. "And my name is Milah. Just, Milah."
