.:Physical Appearance:.
Mary Poppins is practically perfect in every way. From the top of her auburn hair, to her toes. She is commonly seen with her hair in an up-do, but she's been spotted often with it down, and styled in ways that some would label as "Insane." Mary is never, ever seen without eyeliner, as it brings out the beautiful doe eyed brown of her irises. You see, although she is incredibly kind, she also prides herself on her personal appearance - even though she has a style all of her own. Like herself, it is always constantly changing - much like the wind that leads her from place to place when she is needed.
She can also always be spotted carrying an Umbrella, and usually, a carpet bag.

.:Personality:.
Mary is generally kind to those who meet her, unless you give her a reason to dislike you. She never puts herself before anyone, despite the fact that she has a tendency to be quite vain. Although she may seem strict, she also knows how to let loose and have fun - even though she likes to pretend that she's prim and proper. She knows the importance of cleanliness, and she absolutely will not tolerate any sort of mess or destruction of any sort, unless those who made the mess plan on cleaning it up..for she refuses to clean up the messes of others if they refuse to help themselves at all.
One thing she's always secretly desired has been a family that was her own. However, seeing that she can never stay in one place, that has been impossible. She'd felt something akin to love once..but she had never been able to explore it, and so, she had given up on it long, long ago.
And above all things to know.. Mary Poppins assures you, she is never cross.

.:History:.
"Winds in the east, mist coming in, like something is brewing, about to begin. Can't put my finger on it, what lies in store, but I fear what's about to happen has happened before...
It all started a long time ago. Long before the tales of the Banks children. Mary had taken care of many children in her time, which was longer than anyone could even dream. Her goal in life, is to make children happy and to keep families together... and when they no longer need her, is when she must leave. One of the children that she had helped was a boy named Bert who was nearly seventeen at the time and his young sister whom he was taking care of on his own. The girl was unruly, and angry at the loss of their parents..and Mary swooped in, and of course, set the girl on the right path. Unknowingly to her, she would see Bert again, several times.
Each time she would take care of children after Bert and his sister - who grew up to marry a politician in another country, he'd seem to be somewhere in the area. It made Mary happy and sad at the same time.. for when Bert grew up, there was more to their relationship than merely that of someone that helped guide him in his time of need, but as something much much more. However, Mary could never stay in one place very long..she traveled with the wind.
In fact, she was pulled with the wind to Snow White's castle, just before the curse hit. She had sensed a family in distress whom just gave birth to a little baby girl, and she was on her way to them when she was pulled in to the curse along with the rest of Storybrooke. While there, she became a full time Nanny.. staying in one place for longer than she ever had before.| ~ • ~ | Sample Post | ~ • ~ |
"Oh dear," Mary sighed as she looked over a child who was covered in mud. He was a small boy with blonde hair called Pinocchio. "This will never do. What will your father think of this mess, hmm?" Poor Gepetto. He was well up in age, and sometimes had trouble keeping up with the young boy. That's where she came in. She snapped her fingers, and bath water began to run. "Off you go now. To the bath." The boy just stood there, looking as though he was about to protest. Mary placed her hands on her hips and lifted her chin. "Go now. Spit spot." she clapped her hands together lightly and the boy huffed, but he still went off to take his bath.
Mary, deciding that the living room that he had tracked mud in to was now far too messy for her liking, clapped her hands, and a broom slid itself over the dirt on the floor, pushing it out the door as Mary held it open. "Ah," she smiled. "Much better." The shoes on the floor were also covered in mud. Those were promptly lifted in the air and settled neatly on a mud mat that had been placed in the sun-room. "A tidy home is a happy home."
