Tag: Henry Mills Note: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian was currently waiting for Henry to join him at Granny's Diner. Emma had some business to attend to and apparently, the young lad considered Killian to be fun. That, or just more fun that his grandparents. Hook felt a rather arrogant pride in that. While he knew that the real Henry may not believe this to be the case -- that is, the Henry who held memories of them all -- he was grateful for this opportunity to bond with the boy. In so many ways, he reminded Killian of Bae when he had just been a boy and aboard the Jolly Roger. He saw so much of him in Henry. He knew that was what had initially caused them to bond: Killian's account of Baelfire -- or as he knew him, Neal.
Hook also had to be very aware of how much he revealed, for they were still protected him from this world of magic. The irony, for the boy who once introduced his mother to this world and caused her to believe . . . was now the one who's beliefs were completely suppressed by false memories. Killian only hoped that somehow, they would return to Henry and Emma wouldn't forever shelter him from the truth. But alas, it was not his place to do so . . . even if he hinted at Emma that she should. For the time being, he was perfectly happy getting to spend time with Henry, and was currently drinking his coffee while he awaited him. He thought it best to be sober when with the boy -- advice given to him by the more 'responsible' adults.

------------------------------------------------------- Henry woke early as he always did, wanting to get a great start on the day. Normally he would do any left over homework before he went to school but seeing as his mother dragged him out of school to come to this small town where she insisted she was needed. Something he couldn't help but find strange seeing as she usually never took a job if it required pulling him out of classes... But he did not object. With a soft sigh he made himself some breakfast, his mother already gone he was being sent to be babysat by Killian, though that was a bit of good news. Henry liked Killian, he was strange but enjoyable. He always had great stories to tell.
Gabbing a bag he headed out the door making sure to lock up on his way out. Heading to Granny's Diner. Some hot chocolate sounded good as well. Walking in he noticed Killian right away. Walking up he waved high to Granny who always smiled. "Hey Killian." Henry spoke as he took a seat next to him, Granny had already has his hot cocoa in the makings. "So what are we doing today? Not sure how long mom will be..." Henry was a little tired of all the secrets. Seemed like there was more going on then what he was lead to believe. Henry may have been young but he was far from naive. ------------------------------------------------------- Tag: Killian Jones Time: Before he got his memories back Notes: So Excited!! -------------------------------------------------------

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian had been looking at the door and once Henry stepped in, his lips curved into a smile. The boy was perhaps the only one in the entire town whom everyone loved and held no quarrel with. It was evident in the way they greeted him and overall, treated him. Hell, it had even been enough for the former Evil Queen and Savior to call a truce and make amends. "Greetings, mate," Killian responded with his smile still in place as he watched Henry join him. The boy went on to ask what they were going to do today and that he didn't know how long his mother was going to be. Sometimes Swan's entire day was occupied with her duties, so Hook was prepared to spend the entire duration of it with the boy. "Whatever you like," he told him before taking another sip of his coffee. It was too bad he didn't have his ship.
But then he supposed such things would have to be concealed from the boy so long as his memory was vacant of his past here in Storybrooke. "We can go to the docks if you wish. Perhaps we can take one of the smaller boats out and you can steer it," Hook suggested. Some of the boats here were odd, but Hook was familiar enough with them to be able to steer them properly . . . thus, feeling comfortable that the boy could also do so under his guidance. "But first of all, let's get you fed. What would you like to eat, in addition to your beverage?" Killian asked. He may not know the boy as well as he would like, but he had quickly gathered from him that he enjoyed hot chocolate, with cinnamom bits on the top. Killian would have to remember that for the future.

------------------------------------------------------- When Killian smiled at him it was almost like everyone else smiling at him, they were kind yet it felt like they were all hiding something behind their smiles, pushing it aside he decided it was best to just ignore it for now, what ever his mother was doing here was important to her so he would stay with her and help if possible. Though the helping was just more staying out of the way while someone babysat him... Shifting in his seat he smiled when Granny brought him his hot chocolate "Thank you." Henry spoke very politely to the kind older woman then turned his attention back over to Killian as he asked him what he would like to eat. Placing a finger on his chin he thought for a moment. "How about just a simple grilled cheese." His smile widened a bit. Henry was a growing boy after all.
"A boat trip sounds fun. I have always wanted to drive one!" Henry said excitedly. Killian was always so much fun though sometimes he felt like a burden, surly Killian had something better to do then to babysit. But yet he still smiled and seemed to enjoy himself at least even a little bit at least Henry hoped that was the case, that he did enjoy his time sometimes with him. "Are you going to eat as well?" He asked curiously, either way Henry would eat even if Killian didn't, food was food and this growing boy was always hungry. ------------------------------------------------------- Tag: Killian Jones Time: Before he got his memories back Notes: So Excited!! -------------------------------------------------------

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian remained silent as Granny brought him his hot chocolate, giving the woman a bit of a nod. He then turned his attentions back to the boy as he answered his question, ordering a grilled cheese. The reformed pirate was about to say that there was nothing simple about it, but managed to catch himself. Really, the concept of it was rather interesting -- considering they did not have such foods in the Enchanted Forest or any of the realms he had ventured to, with the exception of this land. "Grilled cheese it is then," he stated. Killian's smile grew a bit as the boy expressed his excitement over the idea of steering a boat.
"Well then today's the day we make that happen, mate," he told him, in response to hearing Henry's desire to always want to steer one. "The weather is a bit chilly, so are you warm enough or would you prefer to grab a thicker coat?" The weather was no bother to Killian as he was used to all sorts of conditions, however the last thing he wanted to do was get the boy sick. He had been trusted with them and he didn't want to do anything to betray that trust or prove he was incapable of taking care of him. That, and he of course did not wish to see the boy unwell. When Henry questioned if he was going to eat something as well, Killian gave a short nod. "Aye," he answered.
"Can't have you eating alone now can I," he added on with a bit of a smirk. "Besides, if I'm going to keep up with you, I'll need all the energy I can get," he said in complete jest and playful teasing towards Henry. He looked over to Ruby who was not far, and motioned that they were ready to order. "One cheeseburger with a plate of fries, and a grilled cheese for the lad." Ruby nodded, smiled at Henry and hurried off with the order. It was clear that many were struggling to hold back their excitement over seeing him returned . . . not wanting to overwhelm, frighten, or confuse the boy more than they already had.

------------------------------------------------------- Henry looked past Killian and out the door, the weather didn't look too bad he figured he could get away with what he had on. His coat wasn't water proof so hopefully it did not rain but as far as warmth went he should be fine. "I think I will be okay thanks." Lifting his mug of hot chocolate to his lips and sipped at it not wanting to burn his mouth. Setting it down he dipped his finger in the whipped cream with cinnamon on top and placed it in his mouth enjoying the sweet taste. This was one of his favorite things after all which seemed people already knew but he tried to not pay any mind to that fact, he just figured it was because it was his mothers as well and she seemed to be very popular here as well. This place was very strange indeed.
When Ruby came over to take their orders he smiled at her. She had a familiar face but Henry did not know where to put the face in any time or place. But her smile was very kind. Looking from Ruby back to Killian he shifted in his seat a moment "Why do you stay in this town Killian?" Henry couldn't help but be curious, the feel he got from Killian was that he liked adventure and seeing as he was a boat man why stay in such a small town when one could sail the open seas travel to far off places. Henry may not have been aware of what this town actually was or who anyone was but he had a good sense of things around him. ------------------------------------------------------- Tag: Killian Jones Time: Before he got his memories back Notes: So Excited!! -------------------------------------------------------

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian fell silent for a moment, taking in Henry's question. It was indeed a fair one, and Hook of course had his reasons for remaining here. In order to return to this land without falling victim to the curse, he had to exchange his beloved Jolly Roger for a magic bean. But it had been well worth it, and while he would never regret the exchange, he did still miss his dear ship. For it had been a place he'd called home for . . . well, centuries. "You know what they say mate, home is where the heart is." He paused for a moment, fully aware that the only reason he was here . . . was because of Emma.
It was the only reason he would have given up his boat and was willing to risk life itself. Granted, she didn't feel the same way . . . yet. But of course, Killian wasn't about to reveal all this to the boy. "And my heart is here," he answered, leaving out the details but even with Henry's memory in tact, he supposed admitting his love for his mother wasn't exactly good form. "Besides, this town has its perks," he continued on. "You tend to see familiar faces all the time. And you don't have to worry about traffic jams." Unlike in New York. All those moving cards had been horrendous.
"Do you like living in New York?" Killian asked. He knew he had pulled them from their life, but it was a false one. He only wished he had two memory potions rather than just the one. "Think you could ever see yourself living in a place like this?" He added with slight teasing, but also wondered if there was even a slight part of Henry that felt a strange familiarity of this place. Or if Regina's spell had really done a number on him.

------------------------------------------------------- Home is where the heart is says Killian... But to be honest Henry wasn't really sure where his heart was at... Yes he loved New York the life he has there with his friends and his mother. They shared a lot of good times together and he thoroughly enjoyed it but for what ever reason this place... It had some sort of hold on Henry's heart and he didn't know why it was a bit confusing and he thought maybe it was just because everyone was so friendly all the time where as New York you get a lot of yellers and purse snatchers... It isn't the greatest or safest but that was his home... Wasn't it? He wasn't too sure anymore things seemed to be getting more and more complicated with more secrets as well. It was certainly something he would have to contemplate on later, surely his mother would have a say.
"I do like living in New York, it may have traffic jams but it is very lively and full of adventure." Little did Henry know this place was more lively then he knew with villains and heroes this place may have seemed calm from the outside but it truly was not. Killian then asked him another question about seeing himself live in a town like this, it was quiet and peaceful. Maybe when he was older something small but he really did like New York as well. With a shrug he responded "I don't know, maybe. I guess it wold depend on where mom staid seeing as home is where the heart is. My mom is my only family that I know so if she staid I would to, for her." It was possible especially if someone like Killian could stay in such a small town, there had to be something great about it. He was honest though, as far as he knew his mom was his only family and wouldn't want to go too far because he was her only family as well. Henry cared too much to just up and leave when he got older.
After answering his question their food was brought over, hot off the stove and it smelled delicious. "Thank you." Henry was speaking to both Ruby who brought their food and to Killian who was paying for the meal. Sipping at his hot cocoa while he waited for his steaming melted cheese to cool down a bit before biting into the delicious crunchy sandwich. "Killian... Why don't you have any kids of your own?" It was a bit of an out there question but Henry was truly curious... He enjoyed his time with Hook and Henry thought he would actually make a good father. But maybe that was something Killian didn't want either way asking wouldn't hurt anyone the worse that could happen is Killian telling him to mind his own business. ------------------------------------------------------- Tag: Killian Jones Time: Before he got his memories back Notes: So Excited!! -------------------------------------------------------

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian listened to Henry explain that he liked living in New York; that it was lively and full of adventure. Hook couldn't help but smile at that. If only Henry knew -- or remembered -- just how much adventure he had found here in Storybrooke. But of course, Hook could not reveal any of that. "What sort of adventures have you embarked on in that place?" He asked. Hook's only adventure had involved getting arrested, send to prison, and being force fed bologna. It was hardly an enjoyable adventure.
Henry then answered his other question, saying that he would be wherever his mother was. Hook hoped that with Emma's return, she would stay here, unable to return to a life that she knew was full of false memories. But it was difficult to see any inkling of what she would decide, since right now the focus was on finding the latest threat in Storybrooke. To hear that Henry only recalled Emma as his only family . . . well, he hoped soon enough to boy would realize that he had another mother, and a couple sets of grand parents here in Storybrooke as well. "Makes sense," Hook agreed, having to guard his words carefully. "It's good you're so close to your mother, mate." For he knew that it had not always been so . . . not until she had come to Storybrooke. "And that you're supportive of where she chooses to stay." Hook hoped it was Storybrooke, and despite his own selfish reasons for wanting that . . . he wanted it for Emma and Henry too, to be close to their family.
"Family is everything eh," Hook added on with a slight smile. Even though he didn't have any family, didn't mean that he held no love for anyone. Quite the opposite in fact. The arrival of their food caused him to break out of his thoughts as he gave a nod to Ruby. "Cheers," he said in gratitude, he he moved the plate of fries in the middle of the table in case the boy would like some. Henry's next question caught Hook off guard, though he did not reveal his surprise. It was a fair question he supposed, and there was no reason to lie to the young lad. "It's not from lack of desire," Hook told him sincerely, making sure to keep his words appropriate and not saying something joking like 'it's not from lack of trying'. He was still just a boy after all.
"I suppose the opportunity has not yet presented itself," he told him truthfully. In all his time with Milah, she had never grown with child. And her life was taken before they could bring Bae aboard. In his time with Baelfire, Hook had embraced him as a son -- loving him because he was Milah's . . . before the boy's defiance caused everything to become undone. "I continue to hope that one day it will." For in his love for another woman, it was only that woman that he would ever want children with. To be quite honest, he hadn't the slightest idea if he had random children in the other realms from his nightly encounters with women. And he much preferred to remain in this oblivious state.

------------------------------------------------------- Henry smiled at the thought of the adventures. "Oh just stepping outside is sometimes an adventure!" He exclaimed with a small laugh. New York was a very busy place with many streets and side streets it was easy to get lost which only lead to an adventure. The people one could meet, or the buildings you could walk into. Really the place itself was an adventure, though nothing like Storybrooke with magic, and hope, and love. These were story book adventures ones Henry had been forced to forget. Sitting back Henry stretched out a bit.
With a smile Henry cheers to Killian's comment about family being everything. It couldn't have been a truer statement!"She is the only one I got. So I do want to stay close to help her. Sticking together makes us stronger in such a crazy world." He loved his mother and in his mind she was all that he had. Finishing off his hot chocolate he scooted the cup towards the edge for easier access to be picked up. "I am sure you'll find that someone to have kids with." Henry spoke with a nod and then finished off his food. He ate fast and could store away quite a lot of it. ------------------------------------------------------- Tag: Killian Jones Time: Before he got his memories back Notes: Blah, sorry. It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION His words of merely stepping outside having the ability to create an adventure, caused Hook to smile. For it showed a glimpse of that boy that they all knew was still inside somewhere. The curse just needed to be broken in order for him to fully embrace the Henry Mills that everyone knew. If only Killian had been able to procure two memory potions rather than just the one. "Couldn't have said it better meself, mate," he told him as he raised his coffee cup to his lips, taking another sip of the hot beverage. On the subject of his family, Hook once again had to withhold the temptation to tell Henry that he not only had one mother, but two, along with grandparents.
But alas, he could not reveal such things and he wasn't going to do anything to compromise Emma's trust for him. "Always remember that mate. That family makes you stronger. That being around loved ones, is where we derive our strength from." Something that Henry's actions had often revealed in the past. After all, it was because of the boy that Emma had come here in the first place. Hook could only smile with amusement when Henry assured him that he would find that someone to have kids with. The irony. Considering the first woman he had wanted them with was Henry's grandmother, and now the second woman was Henry's mother. But again, best leave out those details.
"Gratitude for the vote of confidence." He hoped the boy remembered that as well . . . once the truth of everything came out. Suddenly, the urge to ask about a certain someone was too much to ignore. and since they were on the subject anyway . . . "I heard that your mother was nearly engaged to someone." Walsh. The man who turned into a flying monkey, but not Henry didn't know about that. "How did you feel about that, lad?" Hook may as well ask because if -- and he knew it was only if -- Emma one day felt for Hook as he did for her, then Henry's feelings on the matter would be of paramount importance.

------------------------------------------------------- Henry smiled at Killian as he spoke about how family made them stronger and he certainly agreed. His might have been small but he was stronger with his mother. He felt lucky to have a mother like Emma and it showed on his face and the way he acted around her. Though lately it seemed like he could never see her. She was always on the run with her 'job' but he felt something more was up. Just haven't had the opportunity to confront her about it because she flew out too fast. But that also gave him time to spend with Killian. He loved to hear his stories and their adventures were always fun.
Killian then asked about the man his mom was going to marry. "He was cool. She seemed really happy with him. But she didn't want to marry him. I am not sure why." Henry did not mind his mom dating, yes he was protective of her but he ultimately just wanted her to be happy. "Maybe they just weren't meant to be." Deep down Henry believed in true love and happy endings even with his memory blocked he still believed that. He knew she would find the right guy eventually but there was no rush. He still enjoyed it being just the two of them. "Did my mom tell you about him?" He asked curiously, wondering why he was asking about such things. Henry was still trying to figure out everyone's relationship with his mother and with him. They all seemed so friendly which was a bit strange. Maybe it was just because where he lived not everyone was friendly... ------------------------------------------------------- Tag: Killian Jones Time: Before he got his memories back Notes: Comp. being lame, short post sorry.... -------------------------------------------------------

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian listened intently as Henry explained his feelings toward Walsh. The young lad had seemed to be ok with his mother dating . . . but he also knew that the circumstances were entirely different. Henry did not have his memories. He wondered if his mother would feel the same way about being with someone who was not his father. For Hook was not Neal. But even when the pirate had agreed to back down, Emma had not committed to Bae which allowed Hook to feel he had a chance. Of course that had nothing to do with his enjoyment of spending time with the boy. He genuinely cared for the lad and was fortunate to be able to spend this time with him, to get to know him better. An opportunity that hadn't exactly presented itself before Pan's curse. Killian knew the reason Emma hadn't married him . . . but he supposed saying that it was mostly due to the fact that he was a flying monkey wasn't exactly the best revelation to make. "Indeed; perhaps he wasn't the one she was meant to be with after all," he agreed casually. Though deep down . . . he desperately hoped that he was the one she was meant to be with. The one that she chose to be with. Henry then asked a question that Hook had to quickly think of an answer to. He couldn't exactly say that he had been following Emma and crashed her date with Walsh. "Aye," he began to say, in a nonchalant tone of voice as he finished his coffee. "The night I met with your mother, I think she had plans with him." When Emma had gotten her memories back and then spoke of how she had to figure out what to tell the man she was with.
It had not been easy to witness . . . but at least he was out of the picture. "Ones she had to obviously cancel so that we could take this journey here," he added on with a smile. And hopefully, it was here that she and Henry would remain . . . for it was where they belonged. "Were you happy in New York? Truly, happy?" He couldn't help but ask. He knew what the consequences were for bringing back Emma's memory and he wondered if she would always resent him for that. But he also knew he didn't have a choice. And so he couldn't help but think just how content Henry was as well in their life built on false memories. Had Hook pulled him away from happiness as well?

------------------------------------------------------- Henry shrugged a bit "I just want her to be happy if it's just me and her or with an addition. What ever happens, happens." Henry spoke, he really did just want her to be happy, he wouldn't stand in the way because he knew she would never do anything to hurt him so it all would work out. Deep down he believed there was someone out there for her it was just a matter of getting them to cross paths and acknowledge it. Killian spoke of having to take a journey here and Henry was still suspicious as to why, and what was going on in this place. His mom never took jobs that required him leaving school so he was curious as to what made this one so special. But then again Emma wouldn't spill the beans and everyone he spent time with acted a bit weird in his opinion.
New York was mentioned and if he was truly happy there. Thinking on the question a moment he shrugged again "Is anyone truly ever happy?" His question did not sound like Henry but this was him with out his memories. Perhaps he felt this way because a part of him was missing, he was not a true believer with only fake memories. Henry could feel something missing inside of him but he always figured it was just because he was missing a father in his life. His mother and himself made a great duo but a man's insight was needed at times for a boy growing into a young man.
"How did you meet my mother?" He couldn't help but ask, the man had come to her in search of help, how did he know about her, surely they knew one another how else would he have known where to look. Was this their first time meeting... Henry was only trying to make sense of everything and it showed, he was confused and he was only right to be so. He had to ask questions but it did not mean anyone had to answer him. But he would figure it out, the true Henry was in there and he was a master at solving mysteries, he did after all spend a lot of time planning and plotting surely it would find it's way to the surface to help this false Henry find the truth. ------------------------------------------------------- Tag: Killian Jones Time: Before he got his memories back Notes: So Excited!! -------------------------------------------------------

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian listened as Henry spoke of how he wanted Emma to be happy. That was something that they had in common. "That is indeed a good attitude to have, young lad," he told him. To hear that Henry would not have opposed a man in Emma's life . . . then again, Killian knew his past was less than, stellar. Perhaps the boy would feel drastically different to know which man in particular was attempting to seek the affections of his mother.
But alas, that was not the point right now. Being with Emma or not, he enjoyed Henry's company. He enjoyed spending time with him, and the reminders of Bae and how much the boy was like him, warmed Killian's heart and made him care for Henry even more. His next question truly resonated with Hook: was anyone truly happy. A valid question indeed. What was true happiness? Finding the one you love? He had once had it, with Milah.
Yet when one finds happiness, they also find immense fear: fear of losing everything that made them happy. It was a constant risk to face, yet the emotions associated with it were like no other. "I believe true happiness with being with those you love. A family. Whether it be one of blood or heart." He wondered if Henry felt truly happy . . . or if he would when his memories were returned. For Killian knew it was only a matter of time before Henry's memories were restored, though he would do nothing to be the one to prompt them.
It was not his decision to make; it was Emma's. All he could do was try and convince her of it. He then asked how he met her mother . . . and Hook had to quickly think of a how to fabricate an answer. Or, perhaps he didn't have to overly lie. "In your mother's line of work -- " As the Savior. "She helped me with a difficult task." Climbing up a beanstalk and retrieving a magic compass from a giant. "She proved to be extremely resourceful." Cuffing him at the top and then later knocking him out and taking back the compass. "And I require her help again now, with this new . . . task." Finding out why and how everyone returned here from the Enchanted Forest. Well, there he had it! He didn't have to lie after all. He just had to be a little ambiguous about the details.
