.:History:. Once a lowly daughter of a cook, Tiana grew up following in her father’s footsteps, eventually becoming one of the best cooks in the Enchanted Forest. She grew up in The Enchanted Forest’s equivalent of New Orleans, a swampy area full of music and love, good food and friendship. Her family meant everything to her, even long after her father died. Growing up with just a mother was challenging, but Tiana grew up stronger for it.
She met Prince Naveen while out in the village. A charming young man, she instantly had a connection with. The two hit it off and began spending more time together. One night while out strolling, they came across the Shadow Man. He placed a magic spell on both of them, turning them into frogs. The journey back to their former selves was a hard one, taking them down the path of love. Eventually the pair married, breaking the curse and returning them to their human lives….then the curse came.
In Storybrooke, Tiana owned the best restaurant this side of Granny’s. She was married to the man who used to be the Shadow Man, the same man who used magic on her. Of course she didn’t know this, she thought they were happy in love, of course with a few bumps along the way, but what marriage didn’t have those?
Between running a restaurant and being a wife, Tiana didn’t have much time for anything else. The curse breaking was just the thing she needed but she struggled to find herself. She had grown used to her husband, a man she used to hate but breaking Naveen’s heart was never part of the plan. She chose herself, taking a break from both men to focus on her restaurant.| ~ • ~ | Sample Post | ~ • ~ |
Lucy sat on the floor, old photos, newspaper articles, clippings and albums sat scattered around her. Focused only on one thing. Him, finding him, searching forhim. Every trace of him had been demolished from the house, every trace but the marks on her heart and her girls. Tear soaked cheeks and ripped jeans adorned her body as she looked for that one perfect picture. Their perfect bubble, trying to figure out when things had gone from amazing to him walking out the door.
The picture in her hands brought everything into focus. Their wedding day…. she had been 5 months pregnant, but surprisingly happy. She knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with this man, raise their children, have the perfect family…she didn’t know why she hadn’t seen the look on his face before. The look of sheer….she didn’t even know how to categorize the look in his eyes, his body language…everything. She had been so blind to his discomfort. No wonder he had walked out on her.
He had never been happy, they had fought so much in the months leading up to him leaving. She should have tried harder to keep him. Tried harder to make them both happy. She had been so excited when she learned she was pregnant again, she had missed how quiet he had gotten….She was a horrible wife.
Lucy looked at the photo in her lap, staring at the face that haunted her dreams. She missed him, just wanted him back. Running her hands through her hair, Lucy let more tears fall. It was nights like this she wished he was home, holding her, telling her everything would be alright, no matter if he believed it or not. There were times they truly were happy. Short glimpses into the people they could have been had Lucy kept her legs shut…but then she wouldn’t have her girls. She wouldn’t have the amazing, wonderful girls she had today.
She needed him like he was her drug. In high school he had been. She gravitated to him faster than meteors to a planet. She had been in love from the moment she saw him. They had fucked, he had been her first. There was no love involved in that. It didn’t last long, but the joy she got out of it was sleeping in the room down the hallway.
Lucy got up slowly, gripping the picture in her hand. Picking up the almost empty bottle of wine at her feet, she walked to her room slowly. It had been years since he walked out on them. Why did it matter now? She knew why…Greg. Sleeping with him made her the unfaithful wife. Made her the reason she would end up in a divorce….
She polished off the bottle, letting it drop at her feet once she hit the carpet of her room. Taking her clothes off, she went to her closet and grabbed one of her husbands old shirts. One of the few things that still smelt like him in their house. She slipped into it, buttoning it halfway before she got bored. She crawled into bed and stared at his side, willing him to walk through that door and kiss her, to have him hold her in his arms one more time. She knew it would never happen…something in her heart told her he was long gone.
Lucy rolled to the middle of the bed, pulled the covers around her and cried herself softly to sleep.
