It's Always Nice

TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION

Hook had not been in Storybrooke as long as most others -- as he had come here of his own accord rather than falling under the same curse that brought the others here . . . twice. So for that reason, he was still familiarizing himself with it. He obviously knew his bearings rather well, considering his experience and expertise when it came to navigation, but he was currently on a mission to find a nice restaurant to take Emma on their next evening out.

His mood hadn't exactly been the best as he was preoccupied with freeing the fairies. Despite his and Belle's diligent efforts, they remained unsuccessful. It was now about three weeks since Rumple had been banished and each day that passed, marked another day of failure. Still, they couldn't give up. Hook was determined to get them out of that hat, no matter what it took. Especially considering it was his fault that they were in there.

But alas, he was not in the library right now. He was forced to take a break and even though he didn't want to . . . it seemed that he had no choice. So he would use the time wisely and surprise Swan with a nice evening out. The positive side of these past three weeks was that with no threat upon Storybrooke, he and Emma were actually able to be together with minimal distractions. And a date night seemed like quite a good way to do that. Upon his quest to find a good, and different, restaurant, he came across one he had not yet entered. Rectifying this, he stepped inside to the quaint restaurant. This may just be the spot.

Tiana knew the man as soon as he stepped inside her restaurant. Everyone knew of Captain Hook. Not only in the Enchanted Forest where she grew up, but also in Storybrooke although in town it was by far nicer reasons than in the old world. Where Hook was once a pirate, ruthless in his endeavors, he was now a charming gentleman, albeit a bit scoundrel-ish, hanging around the likes of Mr. Gold lately, but word on the street was he had changed.

Dropping the steaming plate off at the table, Tiana walked over to the new patron. "Captain Hook right? Welcome to Evangeline's." She held out her hand, ready to shake the other's. "I'm the owner, Tiana. Can I get you a table? Chef just made a fresh pot of gumbo. It's to die for if I do say so myself, my father's recipe. Perfected long before we were able to get such an array of spices as we have in this world."

TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION

Killian hadn't been waiting very long when a woman came to greet him. It certainly indicated good service which complimented the homey environment that was already immediately felt upon entering. The woman seemed to know his name -- then again, he supposed the hook was a fairly obvious give away. She introduced herself as Tiana, offering her hand which Hook took in his own, gently giving it a small shake. "Gumbo?" He repeated with a slightly raised eyebrow. He didn't wish to offend whatever the recipe was -- as she had revealed that it had been her father's. He was merely expressing his unfamiliarity with it.

"Well I'm not one to turn down new experiences, so, bring on the gumbo!" He said as he flashed a smile. Add this to his list of adventures. Perhaps gumbo was a food of this world . . .like burgers, or balony. Hook withheld a shudder at the thought of balony and how he'd been force fed it when briefly imprisoned in New York. Hopefully, this . . . gumbo was better than baloney. "I was actually just here to familiarize myself with your restaurant, but you have intrigued me with your offer. One I am only too happy to accept." As he had previously expressed. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, love," he added on politely. "I am indeed Captain Hook, but here, you can call me Killian. Or Hook, No need for the formality of a title," he added with a continued smile.
