.:Personality:. Having been raised by a sinister Zira, Kovu is aggressive and resorts to solving any conflict with combat -- something he is rather skilled at. He was trained from birth, allowing him to be physically fit and well disciplined, though he can sometimes have a temper. He is well versed in strategy and tactual planning -- necessary qualities for a future king. He can be quite arrogant and cocky, having an abundance of confidence in himself. In front of his mother however, he is submissive and does not often oppose her. He is able to manipulate another, keeping the main objective in mind. Deep, deep, deep down he has a softer side, one that had been suppressed from his hostile surroundings and one that slowly emerges when Kovu finds love in his enemy's daughter.
.:Strengths:. Skilled warrior, hunter, combatant, well versed in strategy and the art of war, is a good actor, has a strong relationship with his sister, brave and unafraid to do what is necessary.
.:Weaknesses:. His submissiveness toward his mother, the constant pressure he feels to become king by the lions around him [especially his mother], his vulnerability when faced with an unexpected change of heart, his strained relationship with his brother, doesn't know how to have fun as everything had always been about training.| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. The Outlands
.:Family:. Zira [mother], Vitani [half sister], Nuka [half brother]
.:Occupation:. Successor to Simba
.:History:. Kovu was born in a hostile environment in the Outlands. He had two half siblings, one of which was a few years older and the other, his sister, he was quite close to. From birth, Kovu was raised as a hunter and warrior, training diligently under the command of his mother. He was chosen by Scar to be Simba's successor, and because of that, Nuka greatly resented him. The relationship with his brother became strained, but the one with his mother was strengthened as she saw him to be a strategic asset to ruling the Pridelands. She lacked maternal love and was more of a trainer and commander to Kovu.
Because of this upbringing, he was raised to believe that it was his duty to kill Simba and take over as king. He was a soldier in a war, the only hope for all those forced to dwell in the Outlands. He became intelligent, manipulative and determined to make his mother and others proud by fulfilling his life longs mission. His mindset took a turn when falling in love with Kiara and there in, lies the conflict and the beginning of his inner battle between doing what he was raised to do, and doing what his heart desired. Much was left unresolved when the curse hit and he was forced into human form. Part of him doesn't want to return to the Enchanted Forest, unsure as to what he will do when faced with the extremely difficult position.

TAG | The plan was simple, and yet very complex at the same time: find the princess get close to her, overthrow her father, and take over the Pridelands. The only slight alteration in the plan . . . was that he was now human. He no longer had the claws of a lion, or a roar that caused the ground to tremble. He did not have the same speed or agility, nor the similar desire to hunt and eat wild animal. No. He was in a completely different form, one that prevented him from even knowing his true identity for what had apparently been twenty eight years. But that was different now. He knew what he was and what his mother had tasked him with. The mission did not change just because he was no longer a lion. He was determined to find the princess Kiara . . . and in the process, hoped to find his own family as well. He had not seen his mother, Vitari, or even Nuka for some time. Everyone was now searching for their loved ones who displaced in the town, but Kovu did not want to draw any more attention on himself. He was perfectly content with blending into the shadows, until he completed his life's mission he was set forth to do, trained at birth to do: kill Simba and become king. The King is dead; long live the King. |
