game. set. match MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME: SUDDEN DEATH Never in a million years did Hades think he would be on his way to see his daughter. Had he always envisioned being a father? Not in the emotional sense. More, in physical terms. Things happened after all. But he never thought he would need to raise a daughter. Even in this current situation, that was not the case. Maleficent had apparently done it for him. Which was most excellent. He could trust her not to fill her head with foolish notions of love peace and rainbows and unicorns. No. She would have taught her how to be strong and assertive; how to be powerful.
Hades, clad in sophisticated attire with his hat on his head, made his way to the cabin that Maleficent assured him they would have some privacy in. Apparently Rumple and the dog lady weren't here. He forced himself to remain composed but he had to admit . . . he was a little nervous. Mostly out of not knowing what to expect. From what Maleficent had told him, Persephone sounded like a fine young woman. But did she expect him to show some sort of paternal warmth? Or was that just something instinctual that he would experience when seeing her? Taking a deep breath he gave only one knock on the door before allowing himself entrance. Here we go . . .

Persephone always wondered what it would be like when she met her father. She'd never really had a mother - not a biological one at least -so Maleficent raised her as her own. Taught her how to be a strong, independent woman. But she also taught her that her father was a Deity, and couldn't be with her. Now.. it was finally time to meet him. One would think that Persephone would be nervous to attempt living up to the standards of the Lord of the Underworld, but instead, Persephone was wondering if Hades would live to the standards that she set up in her mind. She was the daughter of a Deity.. she lived her life to make that man proud. How would he react? What exactly would this meeting be like?
There it was..the knock on the door. Persephone was applying lipstick, and gazing at herself in the mirror when her hand suddenly stopped in it's motion. "Come in," She cooed in a calm, collected voice. Okay..so maybe she was a bit nervous.. Could you blame her!? But she continued to remain relaxed..at least on the outside. She closed her lipstick, and tossed it in to her purse, zipping it up quickly. Did she look the part? Was she confident enough? How should she stand? These were things that raced through Persephone's mind as she attempted several different poses that displayed confidence and being merely casual.
When the door opened, she finally had to settle for leaning against a wall with her arms folded over her torso. The first look of Hades ensured that he was who he said he was. Something about him gave off an aura of power, and darkness. "It's really you..."

game. set. match MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME: SUDDEN DEATH He heard the voice that prompted him to come in and as he did, closing the door behind him, he lay eyes upon his . . . daughter. The word was still so unfamiliar for him to recognize. He just took the moment to look over her, not letting emotion cloud his features but . . . this was indeed a rather, incredible moment. He had no sentimental words to offer of how she looked like her mother -- he barley remembered her mother to be honest. She looked strong, confident, possessing a darkness in her that was no doubt harnessed and properly sustained by Maleficent when she raised her. Yes. She did indeed look worthy to be his daughter.
"In the flesh," he stated, a less than serious comment yet spoken in a serious tone of voice. He wasn't a hugger, someone who would run to her and take her in his arms, spilling tears of joy at this father daughter reunion. If she expected that, he feared she would be massively disappointed. "You look . . . " He gave a slight smile that lasted less than a second; a flicker of satisfaction that she looked the part. "Like the daughter of a God." A compliment, for despite the fact that she was partly human, she looked like a Deity. Like someone he would be proud to call his own. And hopefully, she understood the praising words that he stated.

Persephone wasn't exactly sure what the protocol was here. Clearly, he wasn't exactly the affectionate type, and it wasn't like they were going to go through old photo albums and coo over how wonderful it would be if he could have raised her.. He was the God of the Underworld. Things were.. different. He made a little bit of small talk, including saying that she looked like the daughter of a God. A grin formed on her lips. "Of course I do. I guess I have you to thank for all of this." She placed her hand on her hip. "It certainly didn't come from mother." She looked nothing like her mother, in her opinion. Her eyes, her hair, her general appearance all looked so much like him.
"Don't worry." She mused, looking down at her freshly painted nails. "I'm not looking for a heart felt, teary reunion. I don't really do the lovey-dovey thing." Especially to strangers. Still though..she felt drawn to him. She could feel a pull, saying that she was his daughter. The love that a daughter should have for her father was instantly there.. It had been there all along. "Not to mention.. I knew you were always there. Somewhere. Lurking around.. collecting souls. Torturing people.. having fun. Even though you didn't know about me.. I knew about you."

game. set. match MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME: SUDDEN DEATH Ah. She truly was her father's daughter in the way that she spoke and the expectations, or lack there of. She told him she didn't look like her mother -- hell, he couldn't even remmeber what her mother looked like. But all she was, all the greatness within her, well, he would take credit for that. All that she learned in the ways of darkness, that credit was due to Maleficent. A good combination indeed. "It most certainly did not," he said, inspecting her, showing no remorse for insulting the mother of his child. He was indifferent to her. As he already established, he hardly even remembered her.
She went on to say that she wasn't looking for something overly sentimental in this reunion, that it wasn't her type of thing. Good. That made two of them. To some, family was everything. To him, his family was full of traitors. But perhaps it was now time to build his own, starting with his daughter. He let her continue on, rather than interrupting, listening to her explain that she knew of him . . . despite his not knowing about her. She didn't seem to blame him for that, which was excellent. He wouldn't have to waste time explaining himself -- unsure if he would even bother doing so. "Trust me, it's not all its cracked up to be," he told her with half a smile.
"But should you want a tour of your inheritence, then I'll gladly show it to you one day. So long as we have an escape plan." Because he refused to get trapped down there again. He was fairly certain Maleficent epxlained all those details to her . . . besides, it was no secret that he wanted out of the Underworld. "What do you want from, this?" He asked, more as a way of establishing what the expectation was . . . what she expected from him as a father. He had no idea what he expected of her as a daughter. Loyalty, that was for sure. If all Maleficent told him was true, then that shouldn't be much of a problem.

Family. It was a fickle thing. Sometimes you could rely on it, and others, they just did nothing but stab you in the back. For Hades, it was the latter. Maleficent didn't need to fill her in on all of the details..she did that herself with Greek Mythology books. She brushed upon her history rather well.. and she was incredibly upset about the fact that everyone treated her father like he was a monster.. perhaps he wasn't born that way. Perhaps he was just made. But either way.. he seemed to be acting pretty decently to her. At least so far.
He had agreed that she got her looks from him, rather than her mother. She wasn't sure if he had even remembered the woman, but it honestly didn't matter to her. Even her mother thought Persephone was a monster.. She guessed that her and her father had more in common that she even originally thought. The question came up of what she wanted from all of this, and she merely smiled. "Your family never asked your opinion on anything." It wasn't a question. "They banished you to the Underworld like you were some sort of criminal. They didn't care what you had to say... So why don't you answer that question instead, Father. What do -you- want out of this?"
She felt it was important to ask his opinion. To show him that she was willing to be an equal, rather than to try to be a dominant force. "Personally, I think this is just fine. The two of us talking.. conversing. Not to mention, if you need an ally.. you have one in me. And.. as far as my inheritance? I'm sure i'll see it one day. No hurry on that one." She spoke with a teasing grin.

game. set. match MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME: SUDDEN DEATH He listened to her begin to answer his question, first stating that his family never asked his opinion on anything. His ridiculously dysfunctional family . . . though he supposed he was the one who put the dysfunction into it. Still. He couldn't stand them. Zeus, Hera, Hercules . . . the lot of 'em. He looked forward to the day he would put them all on their knees in front of him, begging for their lives. He remained silent, allowing her to finish as she turned the question on him: what did he expect from this. The way she phrased thinsg showed that Maleficent had done a good job in explaining his past history with his sibling; and her next words about how he would find an ally in her further revealed that.
"Soon enough, your inheritance will include Mount Olympus." He wasn't planning on having any more children . . . hell, he didn't even plan on having this one. Whatever happened, happened he supposed. He was just teasing the fact of ruling over the heavens one day. Now that he had commented on her lastly spoken teasing remark, he would address the rest of what she had said. "I expect loyalty," he stated, not bothering to beat around the bush. "As you said, my track record with family is far from stellar." Trust was to be earned, but he was not going to waste time with someone if they didn't know where their loyalties lay. Even if it that someone was his own daughter.
"I intend to rule Olympus, through any means necessary. Though I can't do much from here, I can try to find anyone who stands in my way and eliminate them once and for all." Mainly, Hercules. "So decide now if you want to align yourself with me. Or if you'd rather do . . . well, whatever it is you do over here." His words were not harshly spoken, they almost had a tease to them but his words were spoken with truth. "Who knows. It could make for some good father daughter bonding time, wouldn't you say?" Now that part, was in teasing . . . though he supposed it would bond them. Even if he had no idea what it was to be a father, he figured paternal instinct would kick in. Perhaps it already was.

Persephone had to admit, she did like the sound of inheriting Mount Olympus, even if she knew that it likely wouldn't happen. Then again.. now that Hades had a bit of help from herself and Maleficent, there was a bit of a chance should he ever decide to over throw his brother again. But then again, that was a conversation for another time. "Now Mount Olympus..that's something I'd like to see." She was curious... what did it look like? What were the other Gods and Goddesses like? Were they really as horrible as she had thought? Of course they were! They had forsaken her own father. What kind of family was that?
He told her he had expected loyalty, and that, she could proudly say that she could give him..however, she didn't expect him to trust her straight off.. in fact, she wasn't even sure if she could trust him. She supposed though, that this was the price to pay for being a villain. It was impossible to even trust the people that were close to you. Still though, she pledged her allegiance. "You have my loyalty.. so long as I have yours in return. And I will help you, in any way I can, help you take your rightful place in Olympus." He didn't deserve to be over thrown and cast down in to the Underworld. Seriously..what kind of people would do that?
But then again, perhaps she was only hearing one side of the story. It didn't matter, though.. This was her father. This was where her heart, and loyalty had to lie. When he spoke of how it would be good father, daughter bonding time, Persephone smirked. "Oh, absolutely. And then later we can go out for ice cream." She carried on with the tease. "I bet the blood of Gods would be delicious in a banana split."

game. set. match MY FAVORITE PART OF THE GAME: SUDDEN DEATH She told him that she would like to see Olympus. Perhaps one day he would be able to show her, but obviously he couldn't exactly do that right now. He was stuck in this world, just like everyone else. Besides, the next time he would to Olympus it would be with a plan and a means to execute it. He would overthrow Zeus and take control of it. "It'll be worth seeing more when I have full control of it," he told her, not bothering to conceal his plans.
He didn't have the details of it but obviously, it was no secret that Hades wanted Olympus. She told him that he had her loyalty, so long as she had his. "Seems Maleficent did raise you well, indeed," he thought aloud. "Looks like we are of a mutual understanding then." It would definitely help ease into . . . well, whatever relationship they wished to develop. He smirked at her tease of how they could go out for ice cream, and that the blodo of the Gods would be a good addition. "Oh, we'll get there," he said confidently. He fell silent for a moment, deciding to get more comfortable as he moved to one of the arm chairs and sat down on it. "Tell me, what are your ambitions?" He asked. What did she seek out? What was her so called 'happy ending'?
