You got the James Dean daydream look in your eye
Katalina Watson was currently keeping company of Lumiere Paquet, who was a nice gentleman. When the man asked her if she was a fan of L'Amour, she had to blink a couple of times before coming to the conclusion that he was talking about love. She simply shook her head, taking a sip of the rum that was handed to her.
"I tried it once. Didn't work out for me." And that was true, thanks only to Stewart Watson. Katalina narrowed her eyes at the glass, hating to think about her father. It was ridiculous. She sighed, taking another sip of the rum. She looked casually around the room for a moment, unsure of what to say or do at this point.

As much as Jim enjoyed the world of Storybrooke, he needed a break from socializing every once in a while. This idea brought him to the Diner, where he had been sitting right before two people entered and started talking about... love? Right next to him. At the gentleman asking the lady if she was a fan of 'l'amoure', Jim scoffed allowed. When the frenchman glared at him, Jim raised his hands in surrender, making eye contact with the lady who had been looking around. "Hey, sorry. But the idea of 'L'amour' can be a little ridiculous," he chuckled, lowering his hands to lift his cup of coffee. He addressed the girl. "The names Jim Hawkins. Polar opposite of your friend here, it seems." Katalina Watson

Katalina jerked slightly in her chair when another man scoffed at the topic they were discussing, and she cast a glance at the man's direction. It was a relief to see that she wasn't the only one with that opinion, though her opinion was because she had been through it.
Who knew the life of the other man? Maybe he went through something similar. She didn't know. He then introduced himself as Jim Hawkins. "Kat Watson. And yeah, I've been through L'Amour once. I don't plan on going through it again." @hawkins

Jim resisted the overwhelming urge to call the lady 'kitty cat'. "Never dealt with it myself, but I've had enough disappointments with plutonic love to last me a lifetime," he chuckled, "but please, don't let me interrupt your dat-Oh, nevermind," he gestured to where the other man had been sitting behind Kat to point out that Lumiere had turned to the girl on the other side of him and was at the present moment kissing her hand. "Looks like someones fairly popular," he rolled his eyes.
He chuckled and turned his attention back to his drink for a moment, sipping it slowly before letting out a pleased sigh and standing from his barstool, "well, the sea awaits," he said.

Kat tilted her head slightly at the man's words. Curious that she found someone that agreed with her when it came to love. Not that that was reason enough to be friends, but it could be a start. "Platonic love can be just as dangerous as intimate love."
Kat scoffed when she saw Lumiere move on from her. Obviously, he didn't want to spend time becoming friends with her. With a shrug, she turned back to Jim just when he said that the sea awaited. At this, her eyes brightened a bit. "Now, that...is a love that will never hurt." @hawkins

Of course he completely agreed that plutonic love was more dangerous, especially since that was all he had really dealt with. He didn't continue that discussion, though. For he really wasn't in a position to go down the road to something that would just make him upset. Especially not with a stranger. As she suggested the sea was a love that would never hurt, Jim stopped and raised an eyebrow at her. "Yes... unless you're not on it," he said slowly, examining her a little more. "So, you're a seafareman as well?" @kitten
