He knew where she was. Rumplestiltskin.. her husband. He was no longer himself, though... he was now a dark creature. The Dark One, to be precise, and he was Hell Bent on getting revenge on Milah, and Killian for the distress that he was caused. Did she regret leaving Baelfire? Every day of her life.. But she always knew that she would be back for him. Killian had promised her that they would get him again. But where was her son now that Rumple was here, standing on the Jolly Roger, taunting Killian? Where was he now that his father was The Dark One?
How did this come to pass? So many questions ran through Milah's head in such a short time. She had told Rumple she didn't want to go back with him..that she was through. He had reached for her heart, threatening to pull it from her chest, when suddenly there was a loud noise. Someone had struck the Dark One in the back of the head long enough to distract him. She saw Killian reaching for the dagger, and suddenly, it was plunged in to his own chest. The dark one was murdered. That was good, right?
Milah didn't exactly know the lore behind the dagger. She didn't realize that this would mean anything... she just thought that Rumple was dead. She instinctively wrapped her arms around Kililan and hugged him tightly, squeezing him. "Killian," she breathed. Of course she was probably going to be slightly upset later.. he had been her husband. The father of her child.. but what was there to mourn? His jealousy and cowardice had made him a monster. "We're safe.. He's gone.."

Note: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION It had all happened so fast. Killian had been helplessly watching as the Crocodile threatened the woman he loved. He had been about to rip her heart out and Killian was tied up, unable to physically do anything to help. That is, until one of his men managed to distract Rumple long enough for his powers to cause the rope to slightly loosen. Killian had been in his fair share of tight situations and this was no exception. He was a survivor after all. He pulled loose the rope and his eyes had caught the gleam of a blade. Instinct and reflex took over and Killian hurried toward Rumple, pulling out the blade and swiftly lunging it toward the body's most vital organ: the heart. He of course wasn't entirely certain that it would work, but seeing the expression in Rumple's eyes, and witnessing how the life fled his body . . . well, it proved to be a rather effective way of eliminating someone who had been deemed immortal and unbeatable.
But Killian felt far more than mere satisfaction over Rumple not able to hurt Milah. He felt . . . something consume him. It was a strange power that took over every part of him; one he could not explain nor properly react to. He just stood there, numbed by how overwhelming it was. When he finally pulled the blade out, he eyed it, feeling an odd . . . power emanating from it. Forcing his hand to keep grip of it's hilt. He was quickly pulled out of his thoughts and focused on what mattered most right now: Milah. He quickly tucked the dagger away so that he could return the embrace, properly wrapping his arms around her. The thought of nearly losing her had made him so fearful; more than he had ever been in his entire life. He had held Liam's body as he died in his arms . . . and Killian couldn't bare doing the same for Milah. She was his everything and losing her, terrified him.
He closed his eyes, allowing himself to bask in all the wonderfully familiar sensations she provided him with whenever she was near. He took a deep breath, inhaling her scent, and holding her close to him, never wanting to let go. She spoke the most reassuring words, telling him they were safe . . . that he was gone. The fear of her husband had never been one to cross his mind, for they had not known before that he was the Dark One. But now, that threat was eliminated. "Aye," he said in a quiet, whispered voice. Something felt different. And no matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't ignore it or fully dismiss it. He slightly titled his head so that his lips were near her ear, allowing him to whisper in them. "I love you." This was not the first time he had said these words to her, but they seemed to be the most important ones to say right now. He had nearly lost her today . . . and he couldn't imagine living a life without her.

Obviously, everyone in the crew was a little startled. Her own life had flashed before her very eyes, and one of the two most significant parts of it was Killian... the first of course being Baelfire. Her husband was once important to her, before he became such a coward. And now, that cowardice was his demise. He no longer looked strange and distorted..he looked like the man she had married. "I should say goodbye," Milah spoke with a soft voice. She moved away from Killian, and lowered on to her knees before the corpse of her once betrothed. She stared at his face, and she felt sadness. She wished that he could have found his own happiness just as she had found her's, but he was too bent on revenge.
"Rumple," She spoke, brushing his hair away from his face. "I am sorry that it had to end this way. I loved you once.. I am certain you could have found someone else who would love you again. We just were not meant to be... And you lost your way. May your next life contain happiness.. and bravery." A soft sigh escaped her lips as she rose to her feet. "Killian," She returned her gaze to him, suddenly feeling nervousness in the pit of her stomach. "I fear what has happened to my son.. If Rumple turned in to that creature, who knows what became of my child. We must find him...please.." Her concerns weighed too heavily on finding Baelfire, that at first, she hardly noticed that there was something..strange happening with the captain of the Jolly Roger.
"Are you alright?" She asked, staring at him a little more intently now. "You look a little pale..." But then again, he did just kill a man. "You should go get some rest, love.."

Note: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian watched her as she went to say goodbye to her now deceased husband. He was so relieved that she was safe, but at the same time, it was of course saddening to see what had become of the man. He had become a demon; one who was willing to kill the mother of his child. The pirate remained silent, allowing her the space she needed while she bid farewell to her former spouse. Something didn't feel, right. And he wasn't sure what it was. He felt as if some force was starting to consume him, and he didn't know how to control it or stop it. It was both unsettling and strangely intriguing at the same time. It surely hadn't come from killing a man, for this was not the first person that Hook had killed. He was a pirate after all. Even when he was in the royal navy many years ago, battle would cause necessary killing. But this . . . this felt different all together.
He broke from his thoughts when she spoke of her son, wishing to find him as she worried for the boy's state. "Then find him we shall," he assured her with a faint smile. He had promised that they would go back for him when the time was right, and that time seemed to be now. Though he wasn't entirely sure how the boy would react to finding out that he had killed his father. Perhaps if he knew the whole story, he would be more understanding. "First let us bury the deceased appropriately." Killian motioned for one of his men to cover the body with a white shroud so that they could send him to see. They wouldn't reach land in time for a proper burial as the body would start to smell. Milah then questioned if he was alright, suggesting that he get rest.
"I'm fine love," he said with a faint smile. Perhaps it was a small fib, but he did not wish to worry her. "Are you alright?" He asked, returning the question as he moved towards her. "I know this can't have been easy for you." She had nearly been killed and then lay witness to the death of her husband. But Killian held no regret for his actions. The demon deserved it. He swallowed, trying to determine what was happening inside of him but not wishing to appear weak. "Perhaps we should go and discuss our next course of action." In private. But really, he felt the need to just take her advice and sit down somewhere.

"Thank you," Milah spoke softly, when Killian had mentioned giving him a proper burial. One fit for a pirate, really, because they were too far from port to bury him in the ground. "He has done things that most would not give him a proper service for, but the crew will do it with respect.. and for that, I thank all of you." He had died as he lived.. a coward. And although it had broken Milah's heart, she did still care about the man, and was sad that it had to end this way. As the crew worked on covering the body, she turned away. It was best that she didn't see anymore.. She had to hold herself together. For Baelfire, wherever he may have been. She had to find him.
Not to mention, she was still concerned about Killian. He seemed.. off. There was something not quite right. Perhaps her intuition was off, after being so near to death..but she couldn't help but think that there was something wrong. He asked if she, herself was alright, and she gave him a small nod. "I am.. at least, I will be. It was difficult to see.. but his actions brought him here." It sounded cold, but she was merely being wise. If he hadn't done most of the things that he had done in life, he'd be somewhere different. Maybe he would even be happy. "Still, part of me will miss him. The Rumpelstiltskin that no one else knew."
He spoke of discussing their next course of action in private, and she nodded. "Of course..." She looked back once more, and saw the crew readying Rumple for his sea burial. "I can't bring myself to watch this anyway." She took a deep breath, and glanced at the dagger that he held in his hand. "What are you going to do with it?" She asked, as she led him toward his quarters.

Note: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION She thanked him and he gave a small smile in return. She spoke of how he had done things that made him undeserving of such a buriel, but Killian was doing it for Milah, rather than for her former husband. He was well aware that a part of her would always care for the man, and he wanted to make his passing as easy for her as he could . . . especially considering he was the one who killed him. But he felt no remorse. He just felt . . . he wasn't sure what. Strange, unfamiliar emotions and powerful feelings that were consuming him. Powerful. Perhaps that was a more accurate word to use. "Best remember that part of him," Killian stated when she spoke of how a part of her would miss the Rumple that no one else knew.
"Better memories to share with your son, rather than the brutal truth of what his father turend into." He wasn't sure how they would explain this to her son, but he also knew that Milah was his mother and that she would be better equipped for such a conversation. He was relieved when she agreed to go to his quarters to discuss things and spoke of how she could bare to watch this. Killian briefly glanced as the men began to prepare the deceased. They draped a white shroud over him and as Killian looked, the corner of the shroud flipped up and covered his face. He stared at it for a moment, believing it was the wind. No. He desperately wanted to believe that it had been the wind. He quickly turned back around and followed Milah to his quarters as she asked him what he intended to do with the dagger.
He glanced down at it, and what he saw made his heart skip a beat . . . not in a good way. He quickly tucked the dagger inside his jacket, further slipping into a deep seated state of denial. Once they arrived to his chambers, he quickly entered, and leaned against his desk feeling like he was winded, as he thought over her question. "We'll keep it for now," he decided, trying to wrap his head around what was happening within his body and . . . what his eyes saw in terms of who's name was now on the dagger. He remained silent for a few moments, trying to think of the right thing to ask. "How did he become, this?" He questioned. He knew stories of the Dark One but . . . he didn't know the history of the demon. Would Milah know? Would she have any insight into what transformed her husband to become this demon? Because . . . Killian had a strong feeling that this was the sort of information they were going to need to know, for his own sake.

Killian was acting quite strangely.. But then again, he did just kill a man. It was out of defense..she would have died had he not intervened. Besides.. he was no longer Rumple. He was a monster. Not even a man, to be truthful. She noticed that he was a little anxious as he spoke about keeping the dagger. She would have rather disposed of it, but he was her captain, and he called the shots on the Jolly Roger. She nodded silently, and didn't speak until he questioned her on how Rumple became this...creature. "I wish I knew..." She spoke softly, trying to think of any signs of possession, but there weren't any that she could pin point.
"Unless cowardice could turn someone in to such a revolting creature, I'm completely out of ideas. He certainly wasn't like this when I left him...otherwise, Baelfire would have been with us from the beginning." She was a fool to think that he would be safe with his father, and she would curse herself every day for leaving her son like that. Once they reached the Captain's chambers, and they were away from the other crew members, she stared at his face. It was pale. "You look as though you've seen a ghost..." He must have really been bothered by this. She was too...but there was nothing that they could do. He was going to kill her.. possibly even Killian if he hand't stopped it. "Killian.." she spoke, trying to comfort him by placing her hands gently on the sides of his face. "You've done nothing wrong.. You saved my life.."

Note: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Cowardice. No, that couldn't be it. She stated that he hadn't been like this when she left . . . and Killian could easily understand that for he too had seen Rumple before he became this, demon. A demon that Killian was now fearing he was becoming. Why else would his name be on the dagger? Unless it was suddenly etched with the name of the person who destroyed the Dark One. Was that a reasonable explanation? Deep down, Killian knew otherwise. He could, feel it. The unleashed powers stirring within him, mainfesting into something he had never experienced before.
"We'll find your son," he assured her, trying to focus on the conversation at hand. "I'm sure he's safe, wherever he is." Ironic, that Rumple condemned Milah for abandoning Baelfire when it seemed the man did the same. He was certainly not winning any father of the year awards. She then pointed out that he looked as if he had seen a ghost. Was his complexion that bad? Was he becoming obvious? He knew he couldn't hide this for long from Milah. She placed her hands on the sides of his face, his eyes meeting her gaze as she assured him that he did nothing wrong; that he saved her life. "I know," he stated confidently. "It came down to you or him, and well, that is not a decision I even need to consider. The answer is obvious." Her.
It would always be her. He would give up his own life if it meant saving her. He looked down for a moment, usure how to explain this all. "It's not that," he admitted, turning away from her as he paced in the middle of his quarters. "I have heard many rumors of the Dark One. Yet know very little about him. About what Rumpelstiltskin had become." It was relevant, despite his death because . . . what if the Dark One could never be destroyed, but rather, merely . . . replaced.
The thought sent a shudder down Killian's spine as he thought on it. "No matter," he said shaking his head a little, dismissing the subject. He turned back to face her, a soft smile on his lips. "You should get some rest," he told her, moving closer toward her until he was able to wrap his arms around her while maintaining eye contact. "You've been through quite an ordeal today." Not only had she had a reunion with her bitter former husband, but she had nearly died at his hands.
