Ariel sat on the docks, where she was usually able to be found, wearing a white sweater and a pencil styled skirt that reminded her of a fin with the way it fit, and the way she had to walk. Sure, she could have still been in the sea, searching for Eric's whereabouts, but it had proved fruitless for the past couple of weeks she had been looking. She needed a break before she completely gave up. No..that wasn't even an option! She'd never give up. Then again, she wasn't the only one suffering... Emma had gone missing as well. This however wasn't a normal missing person's case.. The dagger of the Dark One said her name..which meant that wherever she was, she was no longer the woman whom everyone knew and loved as the town Sheriff and the Savior.
This must have been upsetting her parents.. as well as Killian. She was a good friend to all of them..but she could understand what Killian was going through a little bit easier than she could have understood the pain of losing a child, as she'd never had one of those before. She inhaled a deep breath of the salty air, and she closed her eyes, just trying to breathe away the pain she felt deep in her chest. She couldn't imagine what they were going through.. what was happening with her and Eric was bad enough.. But she knew, deep down, she would find him.. again.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook was not entirely in favor of this idea, but he had been left with little other choice. The past while, everyone had been looking for Emma. Ever since she took the curse upon herself, no one knew where she was and that was the most frightening thing of this all. Was she even still in Storybrooke? What if she somehow ended up in the Enchanted Forest? Was she alright? Was she safe? So many concerning questions that had caused all of them to tirelessly look for her.
Until they all reached the point of exhaustion. The Charmings had urged Killian to get some rest and they would start fresh the next day and while Killian agreed, he was far from willing to actually rest. Food was not foremost in his mind, but he had gotten take ot from Granny's and was on his way to The Jolly Roger. He needed some time alone, to process everything that had happened and then afte rthat . . . he would start the search again, even if it was just on hs own.
As he made his way to his ship that was docked, he had been so distracted that he nearly missed the figure sitting there as well. But he instantly recognized who it was as soon as he walked by. "You're still here, love?" He said, his voice holding a subtle curiosity, only because it was suppressing all other emotions that were racing through him right now. "I would have thought you'd swam back to your prince by now," he added. He and Ariel had a bit of a past -- one that he was not proud of considering what he had done to compromise the safety of her loved one. Despite all that, she had saved his life and words could not express just how grateful he was for that.

When Ariel spotted Killian, she wasn't caught by surprise.. After all, the Jolly Roger was here at the docks. He was likely just walking back to it. Now that Emma was nowhere to be found, it was likely that he was staying there, rather than at the home of the Charmings. When he stopped to ask why she was still there rather than being with Eric, she looked down at her hands that were folded on her lap. "Not still here," she corrected with a bit of sadness in her voice. "Back here.. Hoping that i'll find him again." She figured he'd be confused, so she continued. "I swam back to find him.. and he was gone. I imagine he was worried and went off to try finding me.. I was gone for quite awhile." She closed her eyes, and sighed quietly. "I..don't know where he is..and I have nowhere else to go. I can't go back home to Atlantica.. At least there would be more of a chance of him finding a way to get back here than there would be for him to get to the bottom of the ocean."
He had been in the realm of the Enchanted Forest, which meant that no one knew if he'd be able to find her here in the world without magic or not. "Sorry.. I.. I know you have a lot of stuff on your mind.. I... take it you haven't found Emma by the look on your face. I'm sorry." She meant it with every fiber of her being. Without the one you truly love, life could be a pretty miserable experience. "Try not to get discouraged.. She's Emma. She's tough.. and she can fight through her darkness. I just know it." She gave him a small reassuring smile.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook listened silently as Ariel explained that she was unable to find Eric; that she was here because she had no where else to go. He could understand that. "Well, if there's one thing that has constantly been proven among the heroes here, it's that you will always find the one you love." It seemed to be the tagline of Snow and Charming, yet he supposed it could be applicable to other couples as well. Unfortunately, his and Emma's circumstances were completely different to follow along this hopeful statement.
"He'll come," Hook further offered as reassurance. He was at least able to say this more confidently than anything else. The conversation then turned to Emma, and he fell silent once again. Ariel expressed her condolences and stated that she was strong. "I have no doubt," he said, though he wasn't about to say it with as much certainty as he would have liked.
He didn't doubt Emma's strength in the slightest, but he also knew how darkness could completely overpower someone. The one thing that could save a persn from it, was love. It had been his love for Emma that pulled him from his own darkness. But Emma was still missing. And each moment spent away from her loved ones -- Mary Margaret, David, Henry . . . him -- was another moment that the darkness had the advantage.
Knowing that talking about it wouldn't help much, he turned his attentions back on the mermaid's predicament. "You can't sit out here all day and night," he told her. "If you require a place to stay, may I offer the Jolly Roger," he said. It was as close to the sea as she would get -- on the surface anyway. Besides, as he was already well aware, he owed her a great deal. "If you'd like to come now and join me for a late dinner. Something tells me you haven't eaten yet either," he said with a faint smile, though it lacked any joviality.

Ariel was grateful that Killian had stopped for a moment to talk to her, and to boost her confidence that love could win out above all. Honestly, it's what she needed to hear, because it was all becoming very difficult to make herself believe it. "Thank you, Killian," She spoke with a small, but sweet smile. "You do realize don't you, that as you're giving me a pep talk, you're also giving yourself excellent advice about Emma?" If he could spout these things to her, then he must have been thinking them at least subconsciously to himself. "She'll come, too." Now, what she would come back as was a completely different story.. but Ariel was sure - just as she was sure that the ocean was blue - that she would find her way back to the light, back to her family, and back to the man that she loved...Killian seemed to feel the same way that Eric would come to find her.
He told her that she couldn't sit there all day and night, and not only did he invite her to join him on his ship, but to join him for dinner. "Oh my," she blinked several times. "I've completely forgotten to eat! No wonder my stomach has felt like it was turning inside out for the past couple of hours.. I thought it was just because I was sad.." It was still a little tricky trying to remember to stop what she was doing to eat something. It's what kept people going. As a mermaid, she could easily just snatch up some kelp and eat that, but it was a little different as a human.. hunger seemed to work a little differently.
"That would be very nice.. Thanks," She smiled again, and stood up from the bench she had been sitting on. She then began to follow him to the Jolly Roger.
