.:History:. James O'Neil doesn't have the heart of the truest believer, not even close. But it was his belief that his life would change for the better that got him to Neverland. No one knows of James' life before Neverland, he's not one to talk about it, not even when asked repeatedly. But he stumbled upon Neverland by chance. One night, as he wished to get away from his family, a shadow paid him a visit and took him to a place where there were no grown ups to abuse him, telling what to do and yell at him. James was brought back home that same night, but it felt like he spent years in that place. The next night, James wished to go back and he never returned.
Once in Neverland, under the ruling of Peter Pan, James let go of his last name and felt free for the very first time. Years were spent in that island, with other lost boys with whom James has an irreplaceable bond. But the lost boys were the only ones whom James befriended. One Captain Hook was also in his list of friends. At James was suspicious of the grown up pirate, after all, his experience with other adults weren't the nicest ones. But soon the boy warmed up to the Captain and even boarded his ship a few times. A friendship that Peter Pan didn't exactly support, but James wasn't letting anyone tell him what to do.
Many years passed, eventually Hook left without as much as a word to the youngster, only to show up much later, in the company of several other people James has never heard of. Upon meeting with Hook again, James was once again suspicious of the man's intentions, even more when he was told that they had to leave Neverland, to never come back. Storybrooke is now James' home, where everything is strange to him, has it has been many years, almost a century, since the boy has been back in the normal realm. James also had a brief moment where he went back to the Enchanted Forest with everyone else, but now he's back in Storybrooke, where troubles never seem to end to the townspeople.

The moment James stepped outside of Captain Hook's ship, he knew his life changed completely once again. Looking around at the port where Hook placed his ship, the boy already knows that this is nothing like when he was last back in this realm. Is it even the same realm? Could it even be his home country? James doesn't think so... he doesn't even want to ask, if he has to leave Neverland and never go back, then he might as well just start new.
In the distance, James sees the townsfolk and it causes him to look down at his own old clothing – he definitely doesn't fit in this place. But Hook assured him that he will be fine. In due time, he will learn everything about this new world and he will adapt – Hook even confided in him that he doesn't know much about the new realm himself. But could he really do it? If it came to be, could he really become friends with the people that took him from Neverland? What these people don't know... is that Peter is still among them, in the body of the boy – Henry. The thoughts are quickly gone from his mind as Henry... or Peter, smiles at him and leaves with his two mothers – something that left the young boy quite baffled and at loss of words when he first heard of it and Hook approaches him. His life in Storybrooke has only just started...
