| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ | .:Name:. William Smee .:Nick Name:. Smee, rat and whatever the captain comes up with .:Affiliation:. Neutral .:Status:. Criminal .:Story:. Peter Pan
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ | .:Physical Appearance:. Smee is a round fellow, with receeding hairline. He covers those with a red hat, made by his mother when she still lived. Apart from the hat, he doesn’t really care about clothing or his appearance. He has a beard that he doesn’t really care for, he dresses thicker when it’s colder, unless he doesn't have any more clothes available and that’s it. Fashion sense? How do you even spell that? .:Height:. 5’6” .:Portrayed by:. Chris Gauthier
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ | .:Personality:. Smee is not a strong minded man. He found his strength along the way, when joining Hooks crew. There he learnt about loyalty and the code. He lives by those now. He’s a scared man, self-serving most of the time. Over his long life he learnt to find a bit of bravery in him, but unless it’s a life and death situation he happily lets someone else risk their behinds. He’s happy to give others his opinion and relatively good at negotiating with the crew, listening to them and playing messenger between crew and Captain. He’s very self doubting and happily believes he’s worth nothing as people suggest. However he’ll still stay by those who earned his loyalties. A certain someones words cut, but the sword with which Hook protected Smee and vice versa cut deeper. .:Special Skills:. Smee knows how where to find rare and valuable objects. He knows of their value, he knows how to get them and he knows which person might be the one bidding the most for it. However since he’s a bit of a coward, that can prevent him from actually getting the object. He won’t take any unnecessary risks. He can be very nurturing towards those who have earned his loyalty, but if people haven’t, he can act without consciousness and with all selfishness he has.
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. A small town in the Enchanted Forest .:Family:. He had a mother and father, but they died early, forcing him to become a criminal. 300 years later he doesn’t remember their names. .:Occupation:. Pirate, trusted left hand of Hook – usually. .:History:. William Smee was a common child, with nothing bad or good happening to him until a severe sickness struck the town. It was just by a stroke of luck or maybe fate, that Smee was one of the few survivors, unlike his parents. Yet he had to witness their deaths, their suffering. It left him impossibly scared of his end. Death took people, nothing was left behind and who guaranteed him an afterlife. He didn’t want to grow old anymore or die. With his family and all their friends dead and gone, he had no choice but to resort to stealing to survive. He learned to survive the hard way, but with every day he got better at it. Every day his skills got better and better. He managed to make quite a fortune, enough to allow him to sleep in Inns and other establishments. He managed to get things of value, procure them in more or less legal ways. Eventually people started to employ him to get him certain objects, like magic beans. The task to get a magic bean for a man sealed his fate once upon a time. William never guessed he would end up getting abducted the night he wanted to strike a deal with Rumpelstilskin himself. He never guessed he’d find himself on a pirate ship in the middle of life altering events for the Captain of that ship, nor did he anticipate that he’d eventually join the crew of the newly one handed man. Neverland was a bit of his personal hell, but he found a friend in his new Captain. Used to doing the dirty work, he found he gladly did so for Killian Jones. He tried whatever he could to make his day easier, knowing that in return this Captains loyalty would protect him. Eventually Smees own loyalty grew as well as his courage. When the curse hit he and the rest of the crew were in the Enchanted Forest, expecting their Captain to join them with orders, but it never happened. His life in Storybrooke resembled his early life quite a lot. He barely had anything to his name, a little shack housing him. He worked tiredlessly to even just afford food, which was why he happily struck a deal with Belles father and later lets Rumpelstilskin experiment on him – or more specifically his hat. Still his loyalty always remained with Killian Jones, which ultimately got him turned into a rat, a spell only broken by the return to the Enchanted Forest, which left a strong appetite for cheese in him and a certain kinship with those poor creatures he used to hunt on the ship.
