Salutations,
Before I go ahead and write this up, I already ran this by Storybrooke and got the go ahead. However, I would like to see if everyone is interested in my idea. So if you like it, leave a comment and let everyone know that you're game. I would like to have all the major characters involved as I'm seeing this as being like a half-season story line. However, since it's made up, it's obviously going to be an AU story line. The main antagonist is a made up character in which I've wanted to make for a while. I'll be making him in the next few days. Since I'm going to be busy tomorrow, it's up in the air whether or not I'll be able to make him until the 16th.
Once upon a time, there was a guy in love with a girl. Just like the start of every story. Their love was one that could rival even the great Prince Charming and Snow White. But they weren't nearly as famous. Leo was the duke of a small kingdom within the Enchanted Forest. His kingdom, however, was against the Evil Queen's rule. So why didn't she crush his kingdom? Leo made a deal with Dark One in order to keep Queen Regina's wrath focused on other things than his small corner of the Enchanted Forest. As everyone knows, all magic comes with a price. Which was something Leo was completely aware of. But Rumpelstiltskin must have had an off day as Leo found a loophole to get out of his deal. He promised something to Rumpelstiltskin the greatest treasure that his kingdom had known. Wording, wording, wording. His kingdom's greatest treasure was an undying moth that could continue to provide babies to make silk. Silk being his kingdom's main export. However, the magic didn't lie in the moth, it resided in the magic of the room it was contained in. When Rumpelstiltskin brought the moth back to his own castle, it died. Furious, he went back to kingdom and attempted to punish Leo for lying to him. However, Leo had a copy of their contract. Bound by his deal, the Dark One agreed to keep up his end of the bargain. But as everyone knows, the Dark One isn't one to be trifled with.
In a fit of rage, Rumpelstiltskin went to the Evil Queen to inform her of the deal. After much discussion, the two of them agreed to cast a curse on the duke. On the night of his wedding to his one true soul mate, Leo was cast with a curse. The Curse of The Grey Fox. As soon as someone stopped looking at him, they started forgetting him. The conversation, what he was wearing, and even his face. By the morning of his wedding, his soul mate didn't even recognize him. And soon, his people didn't remember him. The curse was so great that even the Rock Trolls didn't remember him. Shamed, he left his kingdom and started heading towards Regina's castle. However, just as he rode towards her kingdom, the Dark Curse swept up his kingdom and started spreading over the land. To get away from it, he found a portal jumper and disappeared into a different land. And there he stayed, forgotten by everyone he came in contact with until he was able to find another one. A portal that would lead him to the land that his beloved resided in. Storybrooke...
The story would take place after the first Dark Curse was broken. There would be magic in Storybrooke and everyone would have their memories back. Except that no one would remember him. Because his curse wasn't broken. However, he wasn't about to give up on his happy ending. And he's going to get his happy ending, no matter what he has to do.
The way it would play out is that he uses blackmail and other nefarious methods against The Charmings and the gang in order to force them to get his soul mate back. The curse can't be broken except for the one way all curses can be broken, true love's kiss. But wait! How can he get that when his true love doesn't even know who he is? Has Regina gave this young woman new memories on who she would be in love with? Can true love prevail to turn his icy heart warm again? Or is he doomed to be cursed in misery forever?
Thanks for sticking with the story until the end. I figure this gives everyone potential plot ideas to work with in the subset of an over-arching story. And I would love it if everyone could get involved. After I make said character, I'll put a wanted ad up for his soul mate. So if someone wants to take her, he might just be able to get his happy ending. Anyways, let me know what you think!
Also, would you mind putting what characters you control that would be interested in being a part of this plot. Thank you.

Rumpel didn't really know what their child would look like. Whatever he or she would look like, as long as it was more Belle than him, he would be happy with them. The whole idea frightened him a bit, but that was something to dwell on at a future time. Right now, he was finally enjoying some down time with his new wife. His wife. With the way that things kept happening, he wasn't sure if they'd be able to get to this point. It seemed that they never got more than a few weeks of peace. So for now, he was going to make the most of the time that they had before some new evil came to challenge him.
When she told him not to dwell on the past, he smiled and nodded his head. "I've never said it out loud. I figured it needed to be said to you at least." He said making a slightly bigger smile. When she said the lifetime part, his eye made a small wincing motion. Like he didn't like that idea. Just a lifetime... He was the Dark One. As Lacey, she wanted to be immortal. Rumpel would have been happy to make her immortal. If he was able to cleave himself from that damn dagger, he really would be eternal. But the inevitable conclusion to that would be that Belle would eventually die. And that was something he wasn't OK with. "Do you want to talk about that now? Or is this a subject that can wait for a while?" He asked leaning his weight down on his knee. It was something they were going to have to talk about sooner or later.
Holding her hand gently in his own, he led her to the back room of the shop. This was the room that held most of his most cherished possessions. Walking over to one of the shelves, there was a walking stick leaning against it. "This is the walking stick I used before I was the Dark One. It's seen a lot of miles." He said running his finger along the wooden staff. He hated that staff and yet, he kept it around. Something to remind him of a time before he was the Dark One. "And this, this is perhaps the one thing in the shop that I hate the most." He said waving his hand at a painting. In a puff of black smoke, the painting disappeared and there was a safe. He opened it and pulled out an old straw doll.

Rumpel held her his hand against her cheek softly. Belle's hand felt nice against his. She was so beautiful. How could such a beautiful person love someone like himself? He was the Dark One for goodness sakes. And yet, she loved him unconditionally. He wouldn't tell anyone, but she was the one person who could leverage any favors from him free of charge. In regards to having another child with her, he wasn't sure if it was possible with him being the Dark One. But he didn't want to ruin her happiness with technicalities. However, if they were able to conceive, he was secretly hoping for a daughter this time. Someone as pure and good as Belle.
That day was a whirlwind of emotions for him. He was too afraid of losing his himself, his power, that he banished her in order to keep his power instead of losing it to be happy. "I'm sure you know this, but I am sorry for my actions that day." He said still spinning the wheel. Focusing on the spinning of the wheel helped him not look her in the eyes. It helped him hide his shame for that day. "Regina came by a few days later and told me something bad happened to you. That's why I didn't rescue you from her tower. At first, she led me to believe that you were banished from your kingdom. But then she told me..." He said stopping the wheel with his hand before looking back at her. "That you died. If I had known that you were in her tower...I would have razed her castle to the ground to get you back." Rumpel said looking back at her. He knew that she wouldn't have wanted him to kill anyone he had to in order to get to her. But that was how he fixed those problems. "Maybe not. But still, the wool can become sublime. It's a shame that such a peaceful craft like this got lost to technology." He said standing up and walking towards the door that led to the back of his shop. He held his hand out towards her. "Come, there are a few more of my personal items back here."

Mr. Gold continued to walking down the street slowly. Thinking to himself about how things in the town seemed to be changing. He was rather pleased with the way things had been progressing. Sooner or later, the Savior would come into town and he would be able to get out of this damn town and start looking for his son. It wasn't until he got further onto the street before he realized where he was. He basically standing in front of Regina's house. The Queen. She was easy enough to manipulate. Much easier than Cora at least. There was a character he was glad that he didn't want to meet again. If he never saw Cora again, it would be too soon.
"Madame Mayor. You're looking rather lovely today." He said continuing to limp forward, walking past her. He really didn't have anything to say to her other than pleasantries. He figured if she really wanted to talk to him, she'd continue to walk along with him. But then, his curiosity got the better of him. Stopping in place, he turned around. "I apologize for my manners. My mind is a bit preoccupied. What can I do for you?" Mr. Gold said smiling. He knew that whatever Regina wanted was going to come with a price. Even if she just wanted to talk, wasting his time wasn't free either. Putting his weight on his cane, he leaned forward looking at Regina. They both knew that in this world, he still held more power than her. Some things never change.
Note: It's ok. Things happen.

Rumpel smiled at Belle for the long moments it took her to catch on to what she was saying. There were few reasons he told her what she wanted to hear. He did want to make her happy. And he wanted to spend the rest of his very long life with her. And eventually, he would be ready to have another child. And she was the person he would want to have a child with. After she spoke, he smiled and nodded his head. "I suppose we should." He brought his hand up to her face and brushed her cheek, tucking some of her hair behind her ear. The biggest thing he needed to do before moving onto that step was getting rid of that damn dagger. Once it was gone, nothing would be able to cause him to fail at being a father again.
"Do you remember the first time you asked me why I spin so much?" Rumpel said walking over towards the spin wheel. He put his hand on the wheel and sat down on the stool. He remembered that day clearly. It was one of the biggest regretful days of his life. He had rage out against her. But, it was also one of the best days of his life. Because it was the day that they shared their first kiss. "That happens a few times..." He said making some straw appear in his hand. He put it into the wheel and he started spinning. Once it started spinning it, gold started coming out. "But once it get used to it, you can make beautiful things."

Rumpel could almost feel Belle's smile. He figured that she would have liked his suggestion. But there was something on his mind. Something that kept tugging at him. Something that he wasn't sure if he actually wanted or not. His son hadn't been gone for very long. After losing him twice, he wasn't sure if he should try again. He was clearly a horrible father. But he knew he wanted Belle to be happy. So, he decided to just spit it out before he continued to think about it and talk himself out of it. "Or..." He said closing his eyes for a moment. "Or maybe we could keep it for ourselves." It wasn't the question he meant to say, but it was something. At least a hint of what he wanted to say.
The ring on his finger still surprised him at times. It wasn't that he had a ring on, it was the fact that it was on his ring finger once again. Something he hadn't felt in a long time. "Technically, these are all mine." He said smiling and chuckling a little. "There are a few of my personal items." Rumpel said walking over to a spinning wheel. "This one I brought over myself. It's the one that the ladies who looked after me gave to me." He said still finding it a bit difficult to open up about himself. It wasn't that he was trying to hide stuff from her. It was just that he wasn't used to giving information about himself away.

"Well, it wouldn't be my style. But perhaps you would be interested in giving it to them for a present." Rumple said leaning on his cane a bit. He had mixed feelings about the Charmings naming their son after Neal. It was an honor that they would use his name. But it was a bit too close that he was going to have to hear his son's name every time he's around them. With any luck, he wasn't going to have be around them as much as he had been in the last few years. It seemed like every time someone sneezed, they ran to his shop asking for something for free. The only person he would willingly do things for free was already in his shop.
As Belle let go of the unicorn, he turned his body towards her's. He looked around at all the items he had collected over the centuries. Everyone wanted something from the Dark One. And everyone was willing to give up something for what they wanted. "Of course. A part of being the Dark One is remembering everything. Also, with a power I attained, I could look back in time to see who gave me what." Rumple said smiling as he put his hand down on the glass counter. His new wedding band making a loud *clank* sound against the glass. "Is there anything you've taken a fancy towards?" He asked Belle to see what she would be interested in.

Rumple started dusting the glass counter with a soft cloth. Things had been hectic lately with Zelena, Bael, and the marriage. Now, finally, he was with the woman that he loved. He wasn't sure what she saw him. How she was able to keep seeing past the horrible things that he had done. And not only did she still accept him, she married him. He had his freedom, his shop, his power, and his new, beautiful bride. He caught himself staring at her as he was dusting off the counter.
When he realized that he had been look at her for a few moments too long, he smiled and walked over to the next counter. Reaching underneath it, he put the dusting cloth. He was thrilled that she was willing to help him around the shop for a little while. Even though he really didn't need her help. But he was able to spend more time with her. He suspected that she was helping him out for the same reason that he had asked her to help him out. It was a shame that the honeymoon ended as soon as it did. But such was the life in Storybrooke.
Rumple looked over at Belle when she asked what a particular item was. Then he saw what she was talking about. "That..." He started before walking over to her. "Is a the very mobile that was made for a particular product of true love." He smiled as he got next to her. Her smile made her even more gorgeous. "I collected it before I was imprisoned. I figured that the Charmings or Emma might want it and I didn't want it to be lost to the curse." He said watching her beautiful eyes work over the intricately made unicorns.

Mr. Gold looked at himself in the mirror and tightened up the tie that was around his neck. It was a chilly day outside in January. But it was the beginning of the month. Which meant, it was time to collect the rent from the town's inhabitants. Thanks to the Queen's curse, his curse, and the deal that they made, he was the wealthiest man in town by far. Most of the townspeople were renting from him. And he was in the habit of letting people slide on their rent. Not unless they offered something to by some extra time. But today, he was in a relatively good mood. Business was going good. And everything was on track for the savior to come into town. He wasn't sure if it was next week or next year. But things just felt close. Smiling at himself in the mirror, he walked over to his door, grabbed the heavy coat, and placed it around his body.
Rumpel was wearing his normal attire. Nice, black dress shoes, a black suit made from Italian Silk, a dark red undershirt, and a slight brighter red tie. His cane was a black one with a silver handle. Secretly, he couldn't wait for the savior to come along so he could bring magic back. He couldn't wait to use it and fix his foot so he didn't have to be reminded of what he did so long ago every time he took a step. Walking into Granny's, he gave her a neutral greeting and she handed him her rent. "Thank you dearie. I can always count on you being on time." He said in almost a polite tone. Ruby was a little shocked at his tone. Sticking the wad of cash in his pocket, he headed nodded to Granny and left her hotel. His hotel. Smiling at himself, he continued to walk down the sidewalk. Eventually, he was going to walk near Regina's house.

| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. The Enchanted Forest .:Family:. Baelfire .:Occupation:. The Dark One, Pawn Shop Owner, Landlord .:History:. Rumpelstiltskin was born in the Enchanted Forest. His father was known as the town drunk and a cheater. His father spent long hours in the tavern cheating people in a card game. Unbeknownst to young Rumpel, his father brought him to two spinstresses in an attempt to rid himself of his son. Seeing how sad he was, the two older ladies gave Rumpel a magic bean to take him anywhere his heart desired. Rumpel went to his father to get him to leave with him. His father took the bean and his son and used it to make a portal into Neverland. Once Malcolm learned that he needed to be rid of his son in order to be able to use all the powers of Neverland from the Shadow, he talked the Shadow into taking his son away from Neverland. He was dropped back at the house of the spinstresses, broken hearted, and decided to grow up as a spinster.
He grew up as a normal as a person could in his case. However, he was cursed with the reputation of being the son of the town drunk. Despite this, he managed to get a wife whom he loved very much. One day, he returned home to his wife with wonderful news. He had been called up to join in the Ogre Wars. His wife seemed dismayed by the news at first, but she eventually saw the bright side that he could use this as a chance to get out from under his father's shadow. The day before he was to go into battle, he was asked to guard a wagon with a tarp over it. As he stood guard, a girl's voice spoke to him asking him for water. Once he looked under the tarp, he saw a young girl with scars on her face and eyes on her hands. She was a seer and predicted that his actions would leave his son fatherless. Fearing that she meant that he was going to die on the battlefield, he smashed his foot so he would get sent home. When he got there, he was greeted by the sight of his wife and his beautiful new son. Unfortunately, his actions branded him as the town coward. His wife eventually left him and their son to be with a pirate.
Years later, another Ogre War had started. The local Duke had been forcing teenagers to join the war effort through the use of his guards and the Dark One. Just a few days before his son's birthday, he took his son onto the road. Along the road, he saw a beggar. Not having much himself, he still showed him kindness by giving him a few coins. As he and his son walked down the road, the guards that were taking children from his village appeared on the road. He made a plead to them not to take his son and was forced to kiss the captain's boot to show fealty. The captain kicked him in front of his son and there he laid. His pride most wounded. But the beggar from before came and helped him up. And the two made a deal. Rumpel would give him a roof and food and the beggar would be his benefactor. One night, the beggar told Rumpel a way to save his son. He had to get power. The power of the Dark One. Following the beggar's advice, Rumpel went to the Duke's castle, set it on fire, snuck in, and stole the Dark One's dagger. Once he was in the clear, he summoned the Dark One. And after a conversation, Rumpel stabbed the Dark One. As the Dark One died, he revealed himself to be the beggar. Once he was dead, the power of the Dark One transferred into Rumple. Turning him into the Dark One.
There's much more to tell after that fateful day. But only a few people are privileged to that information. He lost his son, created the curse that the Queen used to curse all of the Enchanted Forest inhabitants and brought them to Storybrooke, and he spent the last two decades living a lie until the product of True Love finally came to Storybrooke. What happens next isn't history. It's the story.
| ~ • ~ | Sample Post | ~ • ~ | Mr. Gold stood behind the counter in his pawn shop and admired at all the stuff he had been able to bring over from the Enchanted Forest. But a quick shot of pain through his ankle brought him back into the present. Leaning his weight down on his cane, he used it to help him walk over to one of the further counters to retrieve a bronze lamp. He put it on top of the glass counter and crouched down to get some of the cleaning supplies. Shooting a spurt of the bronze cleaner onto a soft cloth and started making small circles into the lamp. Where he had started scrubbing, the bronze brightened up to it's original color.
If only he had his power now he wouldn't have to worry about keeping up the facade for her majesty. He could be working on how to get out of Storybrooke and find his son. At this point, he was a little impatient. He had spent decades working on the curse and training Regina to be able to cast it. And now, he was bound by the damn thing. But he had all the time in the world. All he had to do was wait a little bit longer to get the Savior to come to Storybrooke. It would happen sooner or later. All he had to do was let the Queen think that she had won. And put up with her pompous gloating.
"Isn't she going to be surprised?" Rumple thought to himself as he continued cleaning the lamp. He worked the soft cloth in the handle and along the spout. He couldn't wait to see her face. After the savior arrives and the breaks the curse, he would be able to bring magic to Storybrooke. Finally, he'd have his power back and he could put anyone in their place that got to comfortable with him being the pawn shop owner. He might even make a few deals, assuming anyone in this town had something to bargain with. As he finished cleaning the lamp, he heard a the jingle of the bell on his door. As he looked up, a smile came across his face. "Good morning Madame Mayor. What can I do for you?"
