.:Name:. Wendy Elizabeth Darling
.:Nick Name:. Wendy, Darling, Little Princess
.:Affiliation:. neutral
.:Status:. civilian
.:Story:. Peter Pan| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Nothing says adorable like a sweet little girl with hazel brown eyes and and the cutest of noses. Wendy is really quite precious even at the tender age of 13, give or take a few years. She's tall, graceful and slender though perhaps a little too thin given she wasn't really fed properly while on Neverland. She's got beautiful sort of dirty blond hair that falls to just past her shoulders though she sometimes ties it up when it becomes unmanageable. Standing at 5'1" she's not very tall, but it's really the sweet and innocent looking ones that are the most deadly. Just saying. She's also got a few burn like scars along her right forearm from an accident involving fire which caused a slight aversion to such things. Otherwise, she's really not that unique at all with the exception of her clothing style. She tends to wear casual and conservative style attire, given that she's a little out of fashion given she'd only been in her nightgown when the crew rescued her in Neverland. She's still getting use to Storybrooke and the change to a more modern looking town, but she'll get there. In terms of color choices, Wendy typically goes for white or pink with the occasional yellow or black mixed into her usual wardrobe.
.:Height:. 5'1"
.:Portrayed by:. Freya Tingley| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Strengths:. imagination, loyalty, reading, determination
.:Weaknesses:. fire, her curiosity, pacifist, animals (both stuffed and real)
.:Personality:. If you could pick one word to describe all that Wendy is, you could definitely say that 'darling' suites her just perfectly. Honestly, you don't get much more precious than her as she's a real sweetheart. She's got this heart of gold and is always trying to change a person's day around even if it's just by bringing a smile to your face. Mischievous and adventurous, Wendy can always be guaranteed to burst forth with high amounts of energy and enthusiasm. Sure, she can be shy at times, but honestly she's very much a social butterfly and can sometimes be quite persistent in being friends with people. Especially people who don't look like they even know the meaning of the word 'fun'. Course, Wendy isn't without her faults such as the fact that she's developed a slight fear of fire, from an accident when she was little, and an even bigger fear of the dark. Then again, she is only 13, give or take and is still trying to cling to the last few years of childhood she has left. Not to mention, her curious nature can also just as easily lead her astray as would her sense of adventure and excitement. She is a girl, but she would definitely fall under more tom girl than an actual girl given her love of the outdoors, not afraid to get her hands a little dirty. Protective and loyal you couldn't ask for a more perfect friend and one that will make sure to have your back no matter the price. Though she does have an issue with violence and that has caused some problems too given that she just can't give into the idea of hurting someone. She's just too friendly and kind to even think about hurting someone whether they deserve it or not, preferring words rather than punches. What else? Loves the water and beach even though she can't swim, adores animals and likes to draw sometimes. She can also be a little stubborn at times and maybe too hyper for some people to understand. Really she's just a sweet little girl who really tries to please those around her while enjoying the simplicity that comes with being a child. Honestly, how could you resist that face?| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ |
.:Birthplace:. London, England (19th century)
.:Family:. George Darling (father) : Mary Darling (mother) : John & Michael Darling (her brothers)
.:Occupation:. none
.:History:. Wendy was the first of the three Darling children living in London, England and the only daughter that Mary and George would ever have. Why they named her Wendy was a mystery to the little girl, but she certainly managed to awe even the grumpiest of people with her adorable little face. Some would say she knew how to manipulate from the moment she was born, but she really didn't know much other than when she wanted something she had to get it. As it was her family was very sweet and kind doing what they could to make sure their daughter was brought up right. Though she did tend to give them a bit of trouble with her curious nature and love for adventures and far off places. In fact, before her brothers came she found herself bored with idea of dolls or etiquette like her father demanded of her. For goodness sakes she was just a child and not a robot, something her mother always encouraged no matter how much trouble she gave them. Course, when John and Michael entered into the fray, things became just a little more crazy. Especially since Wendy took to her brothers, feeling protective of them and telling them made up stories about far away lands, pirates, bad guys and all kinds of things. Both brothers were only too eager to listen to their big sister and enjoyed some of the games that they would all play. Yes, everything was going quite right in the Darling home, though there was some discord amongst the ranks particularly in the father.
As it was, he was getting fed up with Wendy's childish non-sense and was constantly berating for her to grow up, something that never sit well with her. She was hardly that old and why shouldn't she be allowed to have such an active imagination especially when it was those stories that kept her brothers from wrecking the place. Yet, father didn't care because he was in charge and had enough with their fooling around and occasionally reckless behaviour. Including the time in which they were pretending to be indians and tried to build a fire. That ended up making her parents very mad especially since Wendy ended up injured in the whole thing though it did give her a new fear for it all. As it was, there ended up being quite a few disputes about what to do with their 'daughter', both parents having far different views. Her father wanted to send her away to boarding school, while her mother thought it was just a phase and she'd grow out of it. Yet, the plans would eventually be put on hold when Wendy ended up encountering a young boy who had someone snuck into the house while her parents were out. Seeing that it was just a starving young boy around the same age as her, she felt sorry and offered him help. She ended up sneaking him into her small little sanctuary that was really just a secret compartment in the wall. After all, she wasn't about to just leave him to fend for himself and Wendy really liked helping others especially since he looked no older than she was.
For a while this seemed to work as she would occasionally sneak food into a napkin and then when it was safe she'd bring it upstairs for the young boy named Baelfire. It seemed like a solid idea until her parents caught her smuggling food to him one night and almost ruined things. Yet, while her father was more than willing to toss him out on the streets, her mother, the ever kind and caring women that she was took pity on him. So it was that Baelfire ended up being an honorary member of the Darling family, and Wendy had another brother with whom to play and talk with. Problem was, he wasn't quite as interested in the things that Wendy and her brothers seemed to like. If anything he seemed weary of anything to do with magic, including when she mentioned a strange shadow man with who she had been talking to for the past couple of nights. Baelfire tried to warn her about the dangers of such beings with magical powers, but her curiosity was too much. As it was she ended up leaving with the Shadow, going against Bae's orders to never speak to him again. Unlike the far away places she had dreamed of, Neverland was nothing like what she had imagined despite how much fun it seemed to be. At least until she realized that all these children had been taken away from their families and forced to stay in Neverland. She was appalled by it all and when it was revealed that she was a girl, she was returned to her family in exchange for the shadow wanting one of her brothers.
Luckily Baelfire was determined not to allow magic to destroy her family and sought to help Wendy and her brothers, at the cost of letting him be taken instead. That should have been the end of things, but Wendy had been responsible for that boy and she didn't want anything happening to him even if he wasn't her brother by blood. So it was that Wendy attempted to go after the young boy only to risk being caught by the notorious Peter Pan who locked her up. So it was that time passed and Wendy found herself lost in the world that was Neverland, being taunted by Peter about her supposed freedom. She was scared and frightened, but she had to admit that it could certainly be a lot worse. It seemed like eternity before she was removed from her prison with Peter taunting her with her freedom once again and demanding she play up to a young boy named Henry. Wendy really didn't want anything to do with his plans, but after him threatening her brothers she didn't have much of a choice. So she did what was asked of her, feigning sickness due to a loss in magic that only Henry could fix. What she didn't intend on was the fact that Henry looked so much like her darling Baelfire who turned out to be Henry's father. She hated lying to the poor boy, but Pan didn't care so long as he got what he wanted and shoved her back in the cage. She ended up crying for quite a long time at that wondering if she'd ever get free of this prison she found herself in.
Course, once again Pan was back to have his Wendy 'puppet' once again fake being sick if only to push Henry's resolve that only he could save her. Then she was locked away again as per usual feeling like a chewed up dog toy that had finally lost it's sense of purpose, awaiting for her next bit of freedom. As it was, she was surprisingly saved by the unlikeliest of heroes including a much older Baelfire who now apparently went by Neal. A brief reunion with the man she considered a brother and then she was being interrogated by the rest of the crew until she eventually revealed Pan's intentions. She was finally free of the godforsaken island and with good reason as she returned to the boat along with a few of their group. Wendy actually enjoyed herself very much as she made her way on board the ship finding it was nothing like she imagined. Not long after the rest of the crew ended up joining her and Henry as they headed back to Storybrooke. Wendy was glad to be getting away from Neverland, even offering Tinkerbell, a fairy who had lost her wings her last bit of fairy dust. The rest of the trip though was mostly spent with her catching up with Baelfire or watching Captain Hook steer the ship finding it actually quite fascinating. There still remained the problem of locating her other brothers, but time had changed so much between them. Then again, she wasn't really sure what to make of anything really finding it all very strange and confusing wondering what Storybrooke would be like. Perhaps, it was her own second chance, even if she'd never see her parents again.| ~ • ~ | Sample Post | ~ • ~ |
It had only been a few days since leaving Neverland and already she wanted nothing more than just a little alone time with her thoughts. So she did what she did best and walked out to the beach since she had always found the water to have a very calming effect on herself. So much had happened and it was all very overwhelming for the young girl who had gone from having only knowing a handful of people to suddenly a whole town. Even back in London, she was hardly allowed outside because her parents were too worried of someone hurting their precious gem. Not to mention it wasn't like you could do much in such a busy town and there wasn't anywhere to even play in. Besides, she liked her solitude about as much as making friends so most of the time she just ended up staying home with her brothers telling stories or reading one of her books. As usual it was about one fairy tale or the next because that's what she loved most. Course, she never imagined that she would end up having such an adventure herself and now really missed the company of her parents and brothers. Then again, she had changed a bit since they had probably last saw her, though perhaps not too much. She was still just as bubbly as ever, but she had grown slightly more cautious towards people not that you could really tell. The sound of seagulls jarred her from her thinking as she turned to the stare up at them as they whizzed through the air.
She wondered what it was like to have so much freedom and spend your days flying around with no responsibilities or anything. True, she'd had a bit of flying experience herself from when the Shadow Man would had carried her to Neverland, but otherwise she was nothing special she was just plain Wendy. Hardly something to really get worked up over as she kicked at a loose stone wedged in the sand. She sighed contently wondering what was going to happen to her knowing she really didn't know anyone except for Baelfire and it was a bit discomforting. Not to mention she had no idea where she was going to be sleeping from now on since she didn't have any money. She often thought about asking Bae-Neal about that, but she didn't want to bother him not to mention she was sure he was done being a child. So that left one very lonely girl in a surprisingly big town with no one to even consider making friends. At least until she spotted a man walking down towards the dock, looking like he was having some problems of his own. As usual for Wendy she was drawn to such sadness like a moth to a flame wanting to try and make their day through whatever means necessary. Putting on a smiling face, she slowly got up from her spot and skipped over towards them since no man or beast could ever resist the darling face of a little girl right?
