The Lost Girl James doesn't understand Peter's obsession with the girl. There has never been a girl on the island before – not one that stays anyway. Usually Peter prefers the boys. He will allow girls to come on the island, but they usually leave, only for their brothers or male cousins to come in their place. But this girl? This girl came into the island and Peter decided to lock her up instead.
And now James is the one in charge to bring her her meals in order for her not to starve, for she hasn't served her purpose yet. And for James, none of that makes any sense, but he's loyal to Peter and doesn't question his authority. So, tray in hand, the boy makes his way into their camp, towards the cage where this girl – Wendy – is locked up on. Reaching the cage, James crouches and opens a small latch on the bottom of the cage, large enough to slide the tray inside before closing it again. Looking up at the girl inside of the cage, he points at the food.
“Your meal. Call me when you're done.” James stands up to walk away, but the girl's voice stops him in his tracks.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • It had been god knows how many days since Wendy found herself stuck on the island of Neverland and more importantly held captive by the island ring leader. She could never be quite sure why it was that he felt the need to keep her hostage in the first place because it wasn't like she could exactly leave. So really it was a bit ridiculous to be in such a cage when it wasn't like she could go anywhere. Sure, she could try swimming, but she didn't know how to swim because she had never been taught given there was very few places to swim. So realistically the cage was a bit unnecessary, but try telling that to a ruthless leader who she thought was a bit narcissistic in his endeavours. Not to mention it was poorly constructed and certainly not big enough for a young girl of thirteen, but it wasn't like anyone paid much attention. Plus, it was really hurting her legs and just about every part of her body from it. Still, she knew complaining wasn't going to do herself any good, especially since she had already tried and gotten no response from any of the boys. It was strange seeing the boys so dependent on the one called 'Pan', almost like they didn't know how to function any other way. She almost wondered if they were drugged or threatened, yet they seemed to more or less move of their own free willl, though it was a little robotic-like. Shaking her head she turned when she spotted one of the boy's making their way over to her.
She sighed gently when she saw that it was just someone bringing her food, shifting back away from the opening worried she might get hurt or something. Granted, most of the boys were more or less good to her, though a few enjoyed messing with her which kind of annoyed her greatly. It was bad enough being in a cage that was it really necessary for her to be treated worse than she already was. Still, it was nice that they bothered to feed her, even if it wasn't that much for a growing young girl, but she wasn't going to throw a fit over this. She bit her lip watching as the young boy opened the small hatch and gave her the small bit of food, smiling faintly as she moved over to it and attempted to eat it. She was really hungry and it felt good to have something in her stomach not even caring what it was. Though the boy's attitude was something left to be desired given the way he was treating her.
"You know you don't have to be so rude. And i happen to have a name. It's Wendy, okay? Wendy," snapped Wendy getting a little frustrated by the way she was being treated. She knew maybe she was playing with fire, but she was stuck in a cage and so obviously she was a bit cranky. It really wasn't that hard to at least talk to her by name was it? Even prisoners got treated much better than these jerks.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • words: 527tag: James O'Neil clothes: clicky notes: wendy needs a hero!credit: template is made by xxdawnxx from caution.

The Lost Girl James really wasn’t expecting to have this girl snap at him for absolutely no reason – or so he thinks to himself. Deep down he can’t imagine how being stuck in a cage would work out for him, but then again, he never needed to be disciplined by Pan in such manners. He owes him his freedom and that is why he’s even stuck with the little girl in the first place. James can’t deny Pan and Pan knows this. So here he is, turning back towards the cage and raising an eyebrow to the girl inside.
“Like I said Wendy, you have your meal there. Better eat up before I get fed up and take it away.” James’ attitude gets the best of him. It’s not like he needs to be mean to this girl – despite the way some of the other boys treat her, but the way she decided to talk to him struck him the wrong way and it’s not like James is going to just back down from it.
James turns back on his heel and takes a seat in one of the logs that the Lost Boys use as a bench, and keeps looking at this girl. He notices that she hasn’t started to eat yet, though she has made motion towards it at first. “It’ll get cold. Trust me, it’s much better while it’s still warm.”
And for the second time, James surprises himself. First by turning back around when she decided to talk to him and now by being… nice? No, he’s just making sure that this girl, Wendy, eats up so he can finally leave and go back to his cave to rest for the evening. Yes, that’s got to be it.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • "I'd like to see you sit in this cage while being bullied and fed through a hole. See how nice you are then," she replied getting annoyed with this boy's attitude.
Which was true and if she was honest this was probably the first time since coming to this godforsaken place that she had actually showed any kind of strength in her. Probably because most of the boys scared her with them treating her like an animal in cage, tormenting her with the ideas of freedom. It hurt more than she would like to admit, but she never once shed a tear around these boys until she was absolutely sure she was alone. At least this boy wasn't as cruel as the others, but he was still jerking her around when it was hardly fair. So maybe snapping at him wasn't the best way to go about this, but she was right. If their roles were reversed could he say for certain that he wouldn't be annoyed with her attitude? Probably not, so he didn't have any right judging her as he gave her some attitude about her meal. He didn't need to be so mean to her and it wouldn't kill him to use her name since she did have one. Playing with her food as she stared at it, she scrunched up her nose a bit, but attempted to eat it even if it made her slightly nauseated. She almost wondered if it was poisoned or drugged, but then again it was hard to tell since she certainly wasn't any expert on things like that.
"You don't have to be so rude. You know? You'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar," muttered Wendy as she swallowed thickly around another mouthful.
She was tempted to ask what exactly was in this, but her stomach was already rebelling against it and she knew if she ate anymore she was going to be sick. Setting the plate down, she sighed heavily and crawled back towards the back of the cage that was way too small for a girl like her. If she could she probably would have drawn her knees up to her chest, but she technically couldn't do that without hitting her head. She actually wondered if she was forever stuck in this place. Would she ever see any of her family or friends again? Maybe it was just easier if she starved herself to death and saved them the trouble of feeding her. Bad enough she was a burden on her parents and now Pan. Though she still didn't know why he was keeping her anyways. Closing her eyes a moment, she felt a few tears slide down her face. She swiped at them irritably as the boy told her to eat saying it was better warm, but she ignored him and the food. Nothing like making a person feel worse when they were already down on their luck.
"I'm not hungry. So just take it and leave. It's not like you care anyways. None of you care," she said though it was lacking any real venom. All she wanted was to be left alone to her thoughts as she wiped at a tear closing her eyes and withdrawing into herself trying to imagine a world that was brighter and happier. Like when she had tried to make a campfire in the middle of the living room with her brothers only to get burned herself. She still had the marks to prove it, and even though it had hurt, she loved to see her brothers laughing and smiling. So really it was worth the pain. This was not worth it though, as she swallowed thickly trying to keep herself warm in the nightgown she was wearing.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • words: 629tag: James O'Neil clothes: clicky notes: maybe he can..credit: template is made by xxdawnxx from caution.

The Lost Girl Something about the tone this girl used struck James wrong. It doesn’t help that the lost boy saw some tears running down the girl’s face. If there’s something that James doesn’t like, is when some of the other lost boys cry at night, wishing they could go back home. Not James, he doesn’t want to go back home… this is his new home. But perhaps the girl misses her home and if her accent is anything to go by, James thinks that he can guess where the girl came from.
Still, he shakes his head at her and stays seated exactly where he is. “If you’re looking for pity, you won’t find it here.” Maybe from some of the other lost boys, but James doesn’t have to feel sorry for her predicament, he doesn’t even know why she’s here. “But don’t be daft. If no one cared, you’d be dead. If Peter didn’t care, he wouldn’t even feed you. If Peter didn’t care, I’m sure he would leave you to fend for yourself against the dangers of the island instead of keeping you safe and sound in here. Despite the cage, I’m sure you should feel thankful you don’t have to endure the “outside world”.”
And James isn’t lying either. There are many great dangers in the forest and that is why most – if not all – the lost boys always carry weapons. It’s not just for hunting, but also to protect themselves and the much younger boys that have yet learned how to hold a weapon. James looks down at the tray, which is still mostly full and speaks again.
“And you can’t trick me. You’re starving. I know it doesn’t have the best taste in the whole island… but it’ll keep your strength up, believe it or not.” James looks from the tray back to the girl and cocks an eyebrow. “What have you done to end up locked up anyway?”

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • She wasn't wanting to draw attention to herself as she sat there miserable in her cage wondering when it was the next time she'd get to be let out. After all, even she needed to use the washroom and she sure as heck wasn't going to use a bottle like some animal. A sneeze escaped her mouth as she stared at the spot in the cage where she had drawn a little smiley face in the dirt sighing heavily. She wouldn't even care if she never saw her family again, she just wanted out of the cage which was starting to get a little uncomfortable the more time she spent in it. More importantly she really wanted to know what sort of plans Pan had for her given that he hadn't let her leave. He didn't usually take girls which left her pretty confused as to why he would capture her or even allow the shadow to bring her back as it had. Honestly at this point she wasn't even sure if it was worth knowing what sort of plans that boy had in mind for her. A shiver ran through her body at that thought as she wrapped her arms around herself as best as she could feeling herself wanting to be sick. Course, she didn't say anything to the boy as he stood there, probably enjoying watching her pathetic form stuck in a cage like an animal in a zoo. Except, she was the exhibit animal and he was the visitor paying to see her sit there dejectedly. She turned sharply when the boy mentioned that she would find no sympathy here making her sigh heavily as she looked away.
"I never said I wanted your sympathy or your pity. A girl can cry can't she?" she asked getting pretty upset with the way he was talking to her.
She sighed gently running a hand through her hair a bit trying to find something to soothe her body finding that the food was starting to make her nauseated. Sure, she'd tried to eat what was given to her, but her stomach just wasn't in it today whether from stress or sickness she couldn't tell. Though it probably didn't help that she was in a night gown even if the jungle was rather warm during the day. The nights though weren't very warm and every once in awhile a cool wind would blow through the cage chilling her at times. Was it possible to get sick in a hot jungle? She wasn't really sure given her only knowledge came from books as she sat there dejectedly, hearing as the boy further rambled on. Did he not see that she didn't care what he thought about this 'Pan's' decisions? Besides, he certainly didn't stop some of the boys from pushing her around and withholding food from her at random intervals. True some of the boys weren't so mean, but there were a few boys that certainly enjoyed making her situation far more miserable than she already was. So she didn't even bother addressing him with an answer about the fact that he considered her lucky to be stuck in a cage. She did turn though when he said she was lying to him about the food.
"I'm not lying. I said I'm not hungry. Okay? I appreciate the food, but I don't want it," replied Wendy miserably, as she looked away trying to reacquaint herself with the cage.
She wasn't trying to act defiant about this at all because there were certainly better ways of doing that. In fact, she probably would have eat it were it not for the fact she was feeling rather sick. Honestly, she was surprised she wasn't throwing up though she did feel a little dizzy. However, she knew there was no good complaining about it so she said nothing to him. Besides, he'd probably feel relieved if something were to happen. He clearly didn't enjoy standing there feeding her so she was sure most of them would be quite happy to see her gone. Save them the trouble of having an extra mouth to feed. She slowly looked up again though when he asked her why she was locked up in the first place.
"How should I know? Your a lost boy why don't you ask the genius himself," asked Wendy moodily as she clenched her stomach and tried to lie down to help sooth her stomach and dizziness. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • words: 745tag: James O'Neil clothes: clicky notes: aww..well he is kind of cute hahacredit: template is made by xxdawnxx from caution.
