How long Bae had been on this island he wasn't even sure? It would've probably been even longer then he would've first thought, since while he was with that pirate Hook, he was still technically on the island on Neverland. There was something about Pan that made him feel safer with him, like he was meant to be there. He couldn't exactly disagree with that, since this was an island for lost little boys and that's what he was. Ever since the Darlings and with Hook, his sense of loss had grown stronger. Maybe because it was these places that he had felt a slight amount of belonging with them before losing them or being sent somewhere else. It was like with his father, he had once belonged with him too, before being abandoned.
The other lost boys had seemed to shun him on this island, so he did what they wanted and stayed out of the way. Bae had even found himself an old cave not too far from the edge of the island, but, far enough from Pan's camp that it wouldn't be discovered by them. He did better on his own, especially when it came to places he wasn't wanted. The only real place where he was wanted was one that he was forced to leave in order to keep them safe, and, as a family.
He noticed it was getting a bit late here on the island, so Bae decided now was as good a time as ever to collect supplies to keep him going for a while. Bae prepared his bow and arrow just in case, since on this island it was always going to be needed. After he had it ready, he placed the bow over his shoulder, before heading to the part of the island where most of the fruited trees were. And also where the lake was for fishing.
Bae glanced over his shoulder to make sure no-one had spotted him before reaching the spot of the island he needed. He was about to prepare his gear for fishing when he heard a rustle from one of the bushes not too far from where he was. Bae stood up as quickly as he could before grabbing an arrow from his quiver and placing it in the bow having it ready to fire. "Who's there? Show yourself." Bae said, waiting for whoever it was to show themselves.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • "I need to get back to Neverland please," replied Wendy for the second time as the shadow pulled her away from the only home she had ever known to Neverland.
Then they were off with loops and dives and flying through the air with nothing, but the aid of a figure cloaked in shadows, feeling the wind in her long hair. It really was all very fascinating to the young girl as she stared down at the ground below trying to wave at the occasional window gawker that was trying to gaze out at the stars. Course, seeing a flying girl nearly always had them running inside thinking that they were no doubt seeings things. Who ever heard of a flying girl before? It was down right ridiculous and yet Wendy was accomplishing such a task with nothing but a mysterious figure. Everything was utterly spectacular as she told it go higher and faster which he seemed to understand. He certainly put on a burst of speed as he flew past Big Ben and headed for what seemed like a star far off in the distance. She of course was chatting very amicably with the Shadow, though it remained quite just like last time. Which was fine since she normally could talk just about anyone head's off if given the chance and honestly she didn't mind quiet people.
Besides, her brother Michael was all kinds of quiet and shy so she ended up talking for him and beating up kids that picked on him in the streets. 'Focus Wendy. Focus,' chided the young girl to herself as she turned her attention back to the Shadow as he flew through the air, silent as ever. She was actually surprised that he had allowed her to come back, but that was fine by her hoping that she could find Bae and get him home safely. Despite what he might believe he was her brother in all but blood and she felt responsible for him. Her father might not approve of him, but that mattered little to Wendy, her mother or her two younger brothers so she had to at least attempt to get him back. After all, he was very dear to her heart as surprising as that was despite only knowing him for a couple of days. She tried once again to focus her energy on the task at hand as they continued to fly through the air towards the seemingly impossible island far from prying eyes. It was incredible knowing that a whole other world lay just outside her bedroom window and yet very few knew of it's actual existence. Wow she was really unfocused this evening as they began their ascent into the heavens and watching the clouds roll in.
She shivered a bit recalling the familiar feeling of being utterly confused at the sudden mass of clouds and then to appear upon a vast ocean with nothing but an island in the middle of it. She just needed to find Baelfire and get out of there before this Pan guy found them and trapped them both. The problem was she doubted they would leave without at least some sort of fuss, but her plans never got very far. It didn't take long before she was in view of the island as the shadow prepared for a landing, but Wendy had other plans deciding to get dropped of away from camp. Course, he didn't seem to understand or at least care about her protests for the longest time as they flew over the trees. Getting frustrated she tried to claw at the hands on her arms which seemed to work as she fell out of the sky and landed in a pile of leaves for which she was grateful. Brushing herself off she muttered about stupid shadows and how it wasn't nice t drop people only to startle when she heard a voice. Pushing her way through the brush, she swallowed thickly, hands up, twigs in her hair as she carefully revealed herself.
"Uh....I come in p-Baelfire?" she asked in shock and amazement, starring at the boy she was just on her way to find.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • words: 698tag: Neal Cassidy clothes: clicky notes: surprise! did you miss me?credit: template is made by xxdawnxx from caution.

Bae kept his glance on the bushes, waiting for whoever it was to show themselves. He was just hoping it wouldn't be one of the Lost Boys or Pan that had found him on his side of the island. If it was he'd be ready, he looked down at his feet, but, that voice. That voice made him look up. It couldn't be.
Looking in front of him Bae blinked twice, not believing what he was seeing. "We...Wendy?" Bae asked in confusion before beginning to lower his bow and arrow, before pausing. Wait, was this a trick brought on by Pan? Knowing he had sacrificed himself for her and her brothers, and, taking her form in order to convince him to feel like he wanted to stay here. Especially now that she was here after all?
Bae knew that with the magic on this island Pan could do anything, and, take the form of anyone he needed to. If it allowed it to mess with his head. He wasn't a victim to his music so now he was trying something else. That had to be it right. No-one had chosen him, ever. And so why would someone come all the way to this place for him? They wouldn't would they?
Bae shook his head, "You're not really here. It... it's a trick it has to be." Bae then moved himself further away from her, but, not letting her out of his sight. "Don't move. One wrong move and you'll wish you never messed with my head." Bae deep down wanted to believe that this really was Wendy, but, he'd been tricked before. By someone pretending to like or even care about him or offer him some kind of family."Now, who are you?" Bae kept his bow and arrow raised, hesitantly, but, it was up. "Answer me." Bae wasn't taking his eyes off of whoever it was, until he knew the truth.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • It took her a moment to recognize the young boy who was standing there pointing what looked to be a cross bow or something at her making her swallow. Yet, she would recognize that mop of hair anywhere even if he was a little more rough around the edges since he was taken away from her. Though she was a little confused about the bow all the same, making her a little nervous about approaching him as he took his time trying to figure her out. Honestly, this day apparently couldn't get any worse after being dropped into a pile of bushes by a rather irritable shadow and now being used as target practice. Not to mention, she was fairly certain she had either broken or sprained something. At least she liked to think so given that her ankle was hurting something fierce, but she paid it no mind at the moment. She waited a moment, shifting a little nervously until she saw him start to lower his bow for which she was grateful. She relaxed a little until he seemed to come to himself and raised it back at it her making her swallow thickly keeping her hands up as she waited to see what he would do. You would think risking her life to save his would at least allow him to be a little kinder. After all, how many people could say that they tried to rescue him anyways? As it was he did finally speak, but it was a little insulting towards her, given that he was calling her a trick of his imagination.
"Uh i don't think I am. If i was I'm pretty sure my ankle wouldn't be sprain," she said, checking herself over to play along with Bae's seeming need to check she was there.
She took a hesitant step towards him wincing when she moved her bad foot now that the adrenaline from the fall had started wearing off. She just wanted to hug him, but she stayed her ground as he said so, really wishing he wasn't doing this while she stood there in pain. She almost wondered if he had smacked his head somehow, given she wasn't as aware of Pan's powers since she'd barely stayed more than a few hours. Sighing gently she decided it was best to tread carefully with this situation as she kept her hands up where he could see them. This may have been considered amusing to her if it weren't for how serious he was on keeping her back from him. Still, she said nothing more though she wished she could sit down, trying to balance on her good foot and risk further injuring her other. Course, balancing on one foot was easier said than done, but she attempted to do more or less since she didn't want to ask if she could sit down.
"Uh, I think my name is Wendy last time I checked," she said when Bae asked her who the hell she was rolling her eyes a little as if it was the dumbest question ever.
Then again she suppose it was a fair question all the same given that she had just came out of nowhere. Not to mention she knew his history more or less and knew that it was hard to believe that people cared. Except, Wendy did care, more than he probably knew but that was just her typical fashion. Biting her lip though she tried to think of something to make him believe her trying to recall something that only they would know. Surely, she couldn't fake memories as she stood there looking rather comical. Though she did cross her arms over her chest when he told her to answer him. Since when did he suddenly become so rude.
"That's not a nice way to talk to someone you know. i have feelings too. Geez, you'd think you would show a little more respect for the girl coming to save you. But if you must know I'm Wendy Darling. You know the girl that didn't kill you after you snuck into my family's house? The girl that hid you in a small little secret room in her nursery? Or who taught you how to play 'lava'?" she replied daring him to deny the fact that they had played such childish games.
She knew her brothers certainly could never forget that night when their parents were out and had suddenly decided that the whole house was covered in lava. Which basically mean that they had to get about the house without stepping on the floor. Bae had to have remember that night when she taught him how to play. Surely that was something that was common knowledge to the natives lurking around these parts. At least she hoped not as she shifted a little giving up and slowly making her way to sit down on the ground so she could rest her foot. It was painful enough without her having to sit on it. Stupid shadows. He really didn't seem to like her very much, always dropping her so rudely. Surely that would convince him. At least she hoped so as she kept her arms up once more getting very annoyed.• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • words: 875tag: Neal Cassidy clothes: clicky notes: hope this is okay, if you want me to edit let me knowcredit: template is made by xxdawnxx from caution.

Bae still wasn't sure whether this was real, but, that voice, the image was so real to him. But, that was the kind of thing Pan does. And how magic can work on this island. But, he couldn't help how his heart felt when he continued to look at her, and, hearing that she had possibly sprained her ankle. Bae felt something for Wendy that he never thought possible to feel again. He felt love for her.
"Well, it could be possible." Bae said. He still didn't believe that anyone would ever want to come back for him.
He attempted to keep a serious face, not trying to show weakness, just in case this was Pan. Bae just wanted to hug her, take her in his arms and never lose her again. But, he needed proof before he could risk showing weakness. Bae had already fallen for the spell of Pan's pipes once, he wasn't sure he wanted to have it happen again. Even though, it was easier this time around, because he felt a lot more lost and unwanted then he had at that point in time. And the pain was alot stronger on his heart. And it was the things that caused this pain that made him extra cautious at this point in time. Bae wasn't going to let her have her back to him, since that was the dangerous part. When their back was turned they struck, it was how this island and the boys on it worked. Although, a part of him wanted to care for Wendy and make sure that her ankle was ok, but, he wasn't one to take the risk until he knew for sure.
"And when was the last time you checked?" Bae asked, keeping his serious gaze, and, not reacting to her eye roll.
When people of this island appeared out of nowhere, it had to be the work of magic. And his history proved one thing, no-one really cared about him.At least not the way he believed it. His father hadn't, Hook hadn't and not even his mother had. But, the problem was, he had started to care deeply about all of them, and, it had only lead to heartbreak. Could it be that Wendy had actually cared about him? Bae kept his bow and arrow raised with shaky hands as he waited for Wendy to prove it was really her, or, show that it was Pan in disguise as the one person he cared about the most. If this really was Wendy, then she would tell him something only the two of them would know.
Hearing what Wendy said next made him look at her with less demanding eyes, but, still cautious. "No-one's ever come to rescue me from anywhere before. How can I believe that you did?" The reminder of teaching him how to play a game called lava, made him look down at the ground. "The first rule of lava is that you never touch the floor"
It wasn't long after the Darling parents had left that Wendy, John and Michael had insisted on teaching him a strange game called 'lava'. The four of them went from one side of the house to the other without touching the floor. A game he'd never heard of back in the Forest, and, that no-one here would've heard of. This realisation made him lower his bow and arrow "It is you." Bae said, smiling at her while feeling some tears coming to his eyes.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Her foot was starting to hurt quite a bit after the fall she'd just taken given that she had landed quite hazardously on her foot now that the adrenaline was almost completely worn off. Course, it wasn't fun trying to stay off it while dealing with your honorary brother who seemed to think she was a figment of his imagination. If she was well, she'd love to know why he was dreaming her up with a busted leg. However, it appeared to be taking longer than expected to get Baelfire to recognize her which didn't exactly sit well with her given that she had to do her best to keep pressure off her bad foot. The foot that would no doubt need to be tended since it was at the very least sprained if not broken. Still she tried very hard to stand there as he decided whether or not to kill her or believe her. She honestly just wanted to yell at him for how silly he was acting, but apparently he wasn't so easily convinced by the simple fact she was injured. As if she would hurt herself just to hurt him or some such rubbish. Then again she wasn't truly aware of the goings on around Neverland. Eventually though she had to give up and sit down on the jungle floor being careful in her movement so as not to cause him to fire unnecessarily. She still thought he was overreacting as he pointed that arrow at her, but she didn't say much else after spewing those simple facts.
Surely, only he and Wendy along with her brothers would know about the games they played back home in London. Though really it was a game that most children at least where she was from knew. A very simple game really, but tons of fun if you knew how to play and had an active imagination like she did. She tried to look at her throbbing foot, but she wasn't a doctor and had no idea whether it was as bad as she thought it was. At the very least it was starting to feel warm to the touch which could potentially mean that it was sprained, but she wasn't terribly sure. She simply nodded when he started rambling on about a few things and seemed to internally debate with himself. The whole time she just kept her movements slow and careful while waiting for what seemed like a long time giving him a look when he asked when she had last checked to see if she was herself. Clearly he didn't know a joke when it was right in front of his face. Though she didn't say anything since it wouldn't exactly do her any good as she sat there studying him and then the ground. She bit her lip though when he challenged her on the fact that she of all people had come to rescue him sighing heavily as she stared at him. "Because like it or not I care about you Bae. Your family now and family is important to us Darlings," insisted Wendy carefully hoping that would satisfy his curiosity.
Course, when she mentioned that old game of 'Lava' he seemed to open up a little which made her sigh in relief watching as his eyes turned downward. At least this place hadn't taken that from him as he studied Bae carefully and checking to make sure he wasn't about to just open fire on her anyways. However, she did finally relax when he spoke about the rules of the game making her smile a little as she stared up at him. Her foot was still throbbing painfully, but at least she had allowed herself to take the pressure of standing off her foot. She nodded gently when he spoke saying that it was her as if he had any doubt in her being there. Though obviously he appeared to have had a lot of doubt. At least now he had lowered his arrow and bow for which she was grateful as she lay there in the dirt.
"Yes, it is me. Though I honestly wish I'd have appeared more proper. Stupid shadow dropped me and I fell in the bushes," she muttered as she tried to pull a few leaves from her hair.
Honestly, she was a downright mess given mud was covering her nightgown and she had leaves in her hair. Still at least he had finally admitted to himself that she was there. Otherwise she wasn't sure how to go about explaining to him who she was. Then again she supposed most of her memories would have sufficed but 'lava' was a far more prominent thought in her mind. Though why that was the first thing to come to her mind she had no idea, but at least it had gotten her somewhere. Which was better than nothing in her mind.
"So you going to come over and hug me or do I have to drag my injured self over to you?" she asked half joking and half not given she really was starting to hurt. No way in hell was she fit enough to walk over to him. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • words: 869tag: Neal Cassidy clothes: clicky notes: hope this is okay, if you want me to edit let me knowcredit: template is made by xxdawnxx from caution.

EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS, HAPPENS BY DESIGN. AND THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. Bae could sense that on some level this actually could be Wendy for real, but, he couldn't let his heart believe that. He couldn't let himself have the hope, when it came to this island. Because Pan and his Shadow knew how to mess with these lost boys heads. A part of him wanted to rush over and help Wendy with her ankle, but, if this was Pan and he got closer who knew what would happen. The bow and arrow sat in his hand, but, he kept bouncing it up and down as if trying to figure out whether he should use it on her or not. He could sense that Pan's shadow may not have hurt itself while in Wendy's form just to mess with his head, but, at the same time it also might have known exactly how to bring out his caring side when it came to his family. Pan and his shadow was smart, but, so was Bae. He'd been on this island for a while now, and, he wasn't as naïve as he'd been when he first landed on Neverland. Bae watched with raised eyebrows as she went to sit down on the floor of the jungle where they were.
Most of the kids from that world knew it, of course at the time when he'd first played it he hadn't. But, that was because he wasn't from their world originally. The game had been fun, especially for someone like him who hadn't had many friends before arriving in their house. Bae was now questioning why someone would come back for him, since he hadn't even been good enough for his own father to choose over a dagger. So, why would someone who he wasn't even a blood member of their family come back for him? Bae kept his gaze on Wendy, refusing to believe that she was actually here. That his happiness had finally found a way to actually stick with him this time, and, that he actually had family. If this was all a part of Pan's plan, then it was a cruel joke, playing with his mind and giving him false hope, then he would find a way to repay the favour later on. Bae asked the question out loud to Wendy, and, his gaze stayed on her as he waited for her answer.
“It's just hard to believe you know. Family's important to me too.” Bae said, leaving off the rest of where his thoughts had taken that.
Bae knew that, once lava was mentioned that she was telling the truth. It gave his heart an ache that he hadn't felt since he went with the Shadow that night. They had taught him every rule they had for the game, as they tried to make him a happy kid. There was no way that Pan knew about that game, the kid was good, but, he wasn't that good when it came to figuring that stuff out. Secrets of the life out there in the real world without any magic. Lowering his bow and arrow, Bae couldn't stop the smile on his face as the tears came to his eyes.
“Yeah, that Shadow can be a bit of a pain when it comes to dropping people. When I first went that night, it dropped me into the Neverland seas, nearly drowned me.” Bae admitted, chuckling softly for the first time in a long time.
Bae didn't care how she looked, it couldn't be any worse then the day he showed up in her house with torn clothes, and, dirt everywhere. Bae now had no doubt that this was Wendy for real right in front of him. There was probably some things that Wendy could've said, that probably would've made him still think it was Pan's mind game, but, the mention of lava had been something that Pan definitely wouldn't have known.
“Oh yeah of course.” Bae said, lowering the bow and arrow and rushing over to her, taking her up in the biggest hug that he could. It gave him a feeling of warmth that he hadn't felt since flying off with the Shadow that night. template by Margie @ Adoxography 2.0
