Emma was defeated, and she hated it. There was no way out, and she felt helpless. Normally she'd be rallying against this guy, but she was drastically outnumbered and she was definitely in an awful place to try arguing. Not to mention, the lack of human contact was driving her crazy..so when she heard the Captain's voice, she actually perked up a little. It made her stomach sick to know that she was excited to hear his voice.. to see his face. His, and his ship mate who came along with him. She listened to Hook as he explained that he'd like her to dine with him. Once filled with pride, Emma would have likely said she'd rather starve..but that would do nothing for either one of them. She watched him walk in to the cell, and he looked like a predator. All she could do was hope that he'd have mercy on her. She was too weak to fight without food and water. "Starving," she spoke in a tone above a whisper.
He tossed a garment to her, which she caught, and she clutched it to her. "I will dine with you." She gave him a small nod. "Could I have privacy to change?" She knew it was a long shot, but she figured she'd ask. At least she was polite about it.. but she couldn't really be snarky anyway. She just didn't have the energy. Whether or not they turned around to give her privacy, she started to pull off the tattered remains of her dress. She had been wearing a corset, an undershirt, and a petticoat beneath the dress that was in shambles. The corset, she decided, would have to go. She'd regret asking, but still, she had to. With a sigh, she cleared her throat and then spoke. "Uh. Can you untie this?"

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She admitted that she was starving, and accepted his invitation as well as the dress. Good. She was learning, or well, had learned her lesson thus far. She then asked if she could have some privacy to change and Hook decided to give her that . . . sort of. He turned his back toward her, however he was a man and a pirate after all. So he couldn't help but turn his head a little so that he could sneak a peak. She truly was a vision of beauty, which was to be expected from a princess. But she looked all the more beautiful in person, which only made a smile creep onto his lips. Turning his head away for a few moments, he then heard her ask if he could help her. Oh how wonderfully tempting. He turned to face her once again, continuing to smirk.
"It would be my pleasure, love," he told her as he approached her, enjoying the sight of seeing her in nothing but her corset. He set the lantern down with his hook and knew that he could use his hook to quickly rip through each tie. But instead, he decided to make a clear distinction between him being a servant that offered her assistance, and being a pirate captain who was looking forward to aiding her in undressing. And he wanted to make it clear that he was indeed deriving enjoyment from this. So with that in mind, he used his hand and slowly pulled on one of the ties until it loosened. Then, slowly, he did the other. A lewd smile remained on his lips even if her back was faced to him, as his hand purposely skimmed over the exposed skin of her back that peeked out between each undone lace. He was taking his time and made it evident that he was getting pleasure from it.
He slowly pulled out another lace, and then another, his hand continuing to skim over her back . . . until there were no laces left. Instead of just walking away, he leaned forward, moving his lips so close to her ear that they brushed against it. "I am quite looking forward to being alone with you." While he knew himself that he was not a man who would take advantage of an unwilling woman . . . she didn't know that, and that was the point of his suggestive remark. He kept his lips brushed against her ear, so that she could feel the smile that continued to creep on his lips.

Most women would have just suffered the discomfort of the corset, but Emma couldn't handle it anymore. She could practically feel the garment shifting her internal organs to places they shouldn't be in. As the pirate stepped closer to her, telling her it would be his pleasure, for a brief moment she had peered over her shoulder. Now she was looking ahead at the wall of the dungeon. She actually expected him to be rough, but instead he was gentle with pulling the laces from the corset. However.. he was a little too gentle, and it was a little too slow going. This was being done on purpose. It would be a complete lie if she were to say she didn't enjoy it, at least a little, but she wouldn't dare speak of it...because the pirate was only there to torment her, wasn't he? That's what his role was in this little game that he was playing.
Once the laces were completely pulled through the corset and it was loose, she did her best to shake off the goosebumps that covered her arms when he had touched her back. To her dismay, when she felt him whisper against her ear, the goosebumps broke out once more along her arms. Her muscles trembled, but it wasn't all because she was slightly turned on by his general attitude..part of it was fear. If he were to force himself on her, how would she handle it? How would she go home knowing that her virtue was taken unwillingly by a pirate? She inhaled sharply and closed her eyes. "I'll be getting dressed now." She spoke with a shaking voice as she pulled off the corset.
Next was the step of putting on the dress that he had chosen for her. She dressed in the garment, and once she was finished, she turned, holding her chin in the air once more. "When will we be dining, Captain?"

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She told him that she would be getting dressed and his pleased smile remained. He took a few steps back and then turned around, scooping up the lantern with his hook to grant them light once they departed this particular location. She then asked when she would be dining with him, and he took this as indication that she was dressed and ready, so he turned his head to face her once more. "At your convenience," he mocked, fully aware that it was at his own rather than hers. She was after all, his prisoner. "If you are ready now then we can go." Surely, she was hungry.
"Shall we?" He said, extending his hand in front of him, motioning for her to go. As he got a better look at her, he smiled once more. "It seems that any sort of clothing suits you," he told her, in a tone that matched the way he leered at her. Not one meant to overly compliment but one meant to cause discomfort. "I imagine you are even more alluring in the absence of them," he said, as if his initial comment was not crude enough. He had after all, made suggestive comments about what could occur when they were in private. He lead the way up the stairs and onto the main deck. "First time on a ship?" He asked, since she hadn't seemed to get sea sick. Not that he was concerned about her well being. He had no reason to be.

The dress was actually nice.. and comfortable. She wondered who it belonged to before her. Part of her wondered if it was the person who hurt the pirate, and made him so angry.. maybe she even had something to do with that hook where his hand once had been. In a deeper part of her mind, she had a thought that maybe the last girl who wore this dress had met a fate of death in the sea.. but that was a little bothersome to think of. Deciding to just keep her head down, and oblige for the moment, she stepped out of the cell, and followed him. "I'm ready." She spoke as she took light steps. He mused that they'd dine at her convenience.. there he was, teasing her once more. Making fun of her because she was a royal, perhaps. She took it with a grain of salt, and walked in front of him as she was told up the stairs and away from the dark dungeon.
She was about to thank him for the compliment before he shifted and made it sexual again. Still though, she managed to sift through the innuendo and find something decent. "I'm gonna just go ahead and take that as a compliment if that's okay with you." She honestly tried not to grin, but.. he was so different, and she was having a really hard time hating him. Maybe it was because she was kind to everyone - or at least tried to be - and she also tried to see the light in everyone. There was no such thing as villain and hero..black and white. There was always a reason. When he asked if it was her first time on a ship, she lightly shook her head. "No.. I've been on ships before. With my parents, mostly. When we'd take trips to other kingdoms to see friends. Is this your first time having a princess on your ship?" It was an innocent enough question, and it wasn't meant to spark animosity.. but whether he'd take it that way or not was yet to be seen.

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She commented that she was going to take his words as a compliment, and he gave a slight chuckle at that. "That's certainly one way of looking at it." Not entirely the way he had meant it . . . though she seemed like one of those optimist type of people. Which made sense, considering who her mother and father were.
"But take it however you fancy, love," he told her. Her feelings were of no concern to him, so she could take the words however she felt best. Then again, perhaps deep, deep down he felt differently but he was not about to explore that right now. She then went on to answer his question, saying that she had indeed been on ships before, when traveling with her parents. This was certainly going to be quite a different experience then. Especially considering she would be on here far longer than she may have otherwise assumed.
"It's the first time I've ever held one for ransom," he told her, unfazed by the harsh reality of why she was here. "You should feel honored by that," he added mockingly. "You may have been on other ships but I assure you, this journey will be unlike any other you have embarked on." His words held a suggestive undertone but were also true without the crudeness. Either way, he was not saying it as something she should look forward to. She was not meant to be on the ship as a privilege, but rather, as imprisonment.

Emma knew it wasn't really a compliment. She knew he didn't care. Still though, she decided to take it in stride. She could either be angry, and miserable.. or she could try thinking positively. She obviously chose the latter, because if she didn't, she'd likely be walking the plank before her parents even got word that she had been captured. "I will." She noted with a hint of confidence. So..she was his first princess held for ransom. It was a wihte flag in Emma's mind. Why her then? Why now? Maybe there was more to this story than she thought. This definitely deserved a little more investigating...but she would work on that at another time.
He told her she should feel honored..but she felt anything but honored. She knew why she was here.. it wasn't like she was on a vacation with her family. It was a pirate ship. "I have no doubt that this will be unlike any journey I've been on.. Mostly because every journey I've been on, I haven't been locked in a dungeon. Nor were my other options to be cuddled up with a stranger, or his crew of men who look at me like i'm a slab of meat." She gave him a curt smile. "So I agree with you, Captain. It will be like nothing I've ever experienced before." There was nothing in her voice that showed that she was being mean, however..she was being incredibly sarcastic. It was either that, or be completely submissive and that wasn't an option.

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS Her words were unexpected, but it elicited another smile of amusement on his lips as he turned his head to look at her, an eyebrow slightly raised. "You certainly have a sharp tongue, lass," he told. She wasn't as submissive as he assumed and to be entirely honest, he quite liked that. It was refreshing to encounter a princess who was not generic and not typical of how a princess was expected -- and most often did -- to act. "I hope to become more familiar with it," he said with another devious smile. Of course, once again, words meant to cause discomfort as he spoke of wishing to familiarize himself with her tongue. But he found that she was rather unpredictable, which only made him wish to provoke her more . . . realizing he could not entirely anticipate what she was going to say and do. How delightfully unique of a circumstance this was.
"You best watch what you say, considering you are about to enter a private dining area with only me as company." Where he could with her as he pleased. "Something else you should feel honored by," he stated with a bit of an arrogant smile as he pushed open the door to the private dining area. It was a smaller room than the main dining area, a table in the middle with two chairs and place settings. He made his way inside, one of the men entering behind her to put the first course on the table.

His remark about familiarizing himself with her sharp tongue didn't cause her as much discomfort than she would have thought. In fact, his wordplay was actually clever. In a world filled with royalty and heroic princes trying to win her hand, it was kind of refreshing to have a snarky pirate to banter with, instead of having the normal conversations that she'd have with a man of her suitable stature. Actually..it was a better conversation than she'd had with most of her friends who were otherwise princesses as well. Prince Eric and Ariel had a daughter who she knew named Melody that Emma grew up with - and that girl, although not snobby - could still be frustrating. All she wanted to do was swim all day. This was far more interesting than what she was used to..and she knew in the back of her mind that she should have been terrified and begging to get off the ship..but that wasn't how Emma worked. "Some say it's silver..others say it's like a dagger." She mused about her tongue, and left it at that.
He told her that she should watch what she said.. but it was too late for that. At this point, she was too tired, hungry, and thirsty to have any sort of filter, so now words just flew out on their own accord. He said she should feel honored again..and really, she kind of did. At least he wasn't sticking her in the dining quarters of the rest of the crew. That would have been revolting. "I feel more honored than you'd think, actually." She spoke truthfully. When she stepped inside, she walked toward one of the chairs and pulled it out to sit. "I'm not about to sit in your special eating chair, right? I don't know if pirate captains have those." She really had no idea what the protocol here was..but her manners stopped her from sitting somewhere before she was invited to do so.

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She spoke of how some said her tongue was like silver, and others said it was like a dagger. "I would say it is like a silver dagger," he said, combining both of those things together, to produce a rather accurate description of it. She spoke yet again, unpredictable words as she said that this was more of an honor that he thought. "How so?" He asked, not about to forgo an opportunity to hear someone inflate his ego. Then again, something told him that wasn't exactly what she was going to do. And why should she? She was a prisoner here and thus far, he had treated her as such. He didn't expect anything from her . . . nor did he want anything. Pirates did not need such things. They took what they wanted, when they wanted, however they wanted. Once inside, she went to one of the chairs and pulled it out to sit, pausing as she suggested the possibility that she was about to sit in his chair.
Part of him wanted to say yes just to make it sound like it was inconvenient and then force her to apologize. But the other part of him remained silent, smirking, wondering how she had thought of such a thing for she was a princess; a royal, and all royals felt a strong sense of entitlement. Further proof of how she stood out from the rest. Interesting. Very interesting indeed. "See now, I can't tell if you are making a mockery of me by being sarcastic," he said playfully as he made his way to the chair on the opposite side and sat down. He picked up the pitcher of rum set before them. "Something to drink?" He asked, curious to see if she would accept. After all, rum wasn't exactly a drink that most royals and nobles drank . . . at least not in public or in front of a certain crowd where appearances had to be upheld.

Her tongue was a silver dagger. Yep, that was a good way of putting it. Just make it a hybrid.. and that was Emma's common way of speaking. He then wanted to know why she was honored.. how she was more honored than she thought. "Well, if you really want to know, it's because I've never gotten to dine with a Captain before. Not even when I've sailed with my family. There are some people who look at royals and think they're too good for it.. We're not. At least, not my family. That's not how I was raised. And right now.. you'd think i'd be too low for it. I'm merely a prisoner..you're a royal as far as i'm concerned..and you offered to let me join you. So, as I said.. I'm honored."
He seemed a little surprised when she asked if she was about to sit in his chair, but when he questioned her possible sarcasm, she sat down and shook her head. "Not being sarcastic this time, believe it or not. Just being polite." Why would she want to be a jerk right now? This wasn't the time. If some mean words flew out, then she would yell at herself about it mentally later.. but for now, she had no reason to be cross. "And I'd love something to drink." Rum. That's what pirates usually drank, right? She would try some rum.. she'd never had any before, but why not try something new? After all, who knew how long she'd be here? She thought that she had better get used to it.

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS He listened to her explain why she had thought it an honor to dine with the captain. Her description was indeed an interesting one. It sounded like she and her family were working against stereotypes that often went along with royals. He supposed he should expect nothing less from Snow and James, considering all he had heard about them -- without having personally met them. But seeing their daughter, well, she appeared to be raised with the same values and morals that made the royal family so adored by their subjects all throughout the land. No wonder Regina was bitter. Quite frankly, Hook didn't care about their views and how they ruled. He had no loyalty to any sovereign for the last time he had sworn an oath, the king he swore it to ended up being a liar and a coward and it cost him the life of his brother.
"Don't refer to me as a royal," he told her, his tone not overly harsh but held a natural authority to it. He didn't care that her status was high; as she had said, they were on his ship. He made the rules that were to be followed. "You may be content living that life, love, but there is nothing royal about me. And soon enough, you will learn just how far I deviate from the norms expected of a royal, or even a citizen of a kingdom." Because he was not a citizen. He was a nomad; a pirate. She was trying to be polite? Interesting. He smiled with amusement hearing that. "A polite princess for a prisoner." He leaned a little forward toward her. "I think I preferred you when you were more feisty," he commented, his words having a crude underlying tone. She then accepted his offer of rum and he leaned back in his seat, but proceeded to pour some in her cup before pouring it in his own. "You do know that this is rum?" He both questioned and stated. "But by all means, drink. You never know what can happen when a little rum is thrown into the mix," he said suggestively as he winked at her, before raising the cup to his lips to take a drink.

She kept hitting nerves. This time, she didn't want him referring to him as royalty. She supposed that she understood why.. normally royalty were kind of jerks. Well, that was normally the case, but her family always tried to break that particular mold. "That's understandable," she mused with a small nod. When he mentioned that he liked her better feisty, she cleared her throat, and it was clear, she was getting slightly agitated. "Okay, you know, I've gotta ask you a question. You seemed irritated when I was mouthy before, and now that i'm acting civil you're huffy about it. It's like I can't win with you. If i'm going to be here for awhile, we might as well get used to living together in harmony, right?" She asked with a quirked brow. No, she didn't know he planned on keeping her for good.. but she also knew well enough that there wouldn't be a rescue party the following day right for her, either. These things took time.
Now he was surprised that she was willing to drink rum. Also understandable. When was the last time she'd even met anyone who drank rum? Usually it was champagne and wine and fancy things like that when there was alcohol involved. "I know what it is, that doesn't mean I don't want to try it.." she admitted. Despite his innuendos, she still did drink..promising herself it wouldn't be a lot. Who honestly knew what would happen? He was right, there. Best to keep her wits about her. When she lifted the cup to her lips and took a sip, she was greeted by liquid fire that made her cough until her face turned red. "How do you drink this stuff so much?!"

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She sounded a little irritated, which suited him just fine. He smirked when she explained why there was no winning with him, and when she was finished, she slightly leaned forward toward her, though the table remained in between them. "You seem to mistake my intentions, Princess," he began to tell her. "I did not bring you here to be your friend or to coexist in perfect harmony." What kind of Pirate Captain would he be if he befriended his prisoner? No. He was holding her captive. Besides, he had a reputation to uphold.
"You may be used to everyone trying to befriend you for you are a princess and are accustomed to people kneeling at your feet, but do not mistake me as one of your subjects." He refused to be submissive to her and praise her like a sovereign. "Do not forget your position here. You are my prisoner. Best not forget that." Even if he was dining with her, he still had control over her to do as he wished. A prime example having been deprived her of food for so long. He then leaned back into his seat as he watched her take a sip of the rum. "Adventurous little lass, aren't you?" he questioned rhetorically. His expression went to amusement when she seemed disgusted by the beverage. "What's the matter, Princess? Not meeting the standard of your expensive and lavish style of beverage you are accustomed to at your castle?" Once again, he was mocking her as he gave a slight chuckle at her dislike for the drink.

The pirate had made it very clear that he didn't care what she thought. Nor did he care to be her friend. In fact, in his eyes, he could have thrown her overboard right now if it weren't for the fact that he was getting money out of her being alive. "Hm.. There you go again. Thinking that just because i'm a princess that I'm 'used' to people treating me a certain way. You know, as a nomad, I would have thought you'd be far less judgmental." She quirked a brow. "But no, it seems like you're just set on treating me like a prisoner. You'll be disappointed though, Captain. Princess or not..I don't like being cooped up in a cell for no reason other than some coin." She stated matter-of-factly. "If you don't like the way I act, then why did you invite me here to dine with you? If you're so against me, why did you give me a dress and invite me to dinner instead of leaving me to rot in the cell in soiled clothes? Oh, that's right. Eye candy. Pardon my foolishness." She rolled her eyes. Clearly she was getting back in to her mouthy habits. He asked for it! She couldn't stop it.
When she finished coughing, she managed to get the tail end of him mocking her. Instead of getting angry, she laughed. "Oh, please! I'd really like to see you riding side saddle on a horse. Could you do that? Could you walk around in dresses with ten to fifteen foot trains and heels? Oh, that's right. Not only because you're a man could you not do that without feeling insecure, but you also couldn't because you live on the sea and I live in the castle, and that's who we are. So the next time you mock me, Captain, don't forget that I've got skills that I've spent my entire life mastering. Forgive me if I have a bit of a hard time with fermented molasses." And again, she took another swig of the drink. This time because of sheer defiance and determination. This time..she only winced a little.
