Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS The plan was by no means a simple one to execute. It was also quite risky, but what was life without a few risks. Besides, Killian always loved a good challenge and this . . . this was indeed a challenge. The plan involved capturing the kingdom's princess Emma; beloved daughter of Prince James and Snow White. His task was to capture her and hold for ransom. A nice hefty price would. The real objective of this plan however went beyond any monetary gain for the result was to make the parents suffer in the absence of their daughter. That, had nothing to do with Killian. It had to do with a certain evil queen who hired him and was paying him handsomely for his services. Besides, where better than to put a princess out of reach than the middle of the seas in the fastest ship known throughout the kingdoms. Killian still planned to not only be paid by the Evil Queen, but also by the royal family. He just had no intention of returning the princess to her rightful home.
So with this mission, came meticulous planning. It had taken time however Killian had done the necessary research, and found out that she would be traveling from a town that just happened to be not far from the water. She was on her way home and if everything went according to plan, then his men would ambush the carriage, kill all the guards, leave a note regarding the motive for the attack, and then bring the princess to him. Alive or unconscious. This part of the plan was not to take too long as the road they took was close to where Captain Hook was currently awaiting the return of his men. And sure enough, he saw them approach. The princess was conscious, her hands tied in front of her and a bag over her head. Two men held each arm as they brought her forward, boarding the ship with the rest of those who went to carry out the attack. The moment they did, they began to prepare for immediate departure, not about to waste a moment.
One of the men then pulled the sac off the princess' head, revealing her face and more importantly, exposing her attackers to her as Killian stood in front of her, a smirk on his face. "Welcome aboard Princess, to the Jolly Roger." Perhaps she had heard of it? Perhaps she knew who he was. For it the ship's name was not a sure give away, then his hook most certainly was. He stepped down from the platform, walking toward her until he stood directly in front of her, leaning to her far too close so to invade her personal space. "My, my," he began to say as he raised his hook to her cheek, using the side of it to stroke the softness of her skin with the cold metal. "I have heard tales of your beauty but they do no justice to seeing you in person." His words were spoken crudely and his gaze meant to cause discomfort to any woman . . . especially a princess. He was a pirate after all, and he felt the need to remind her of that, and the fact that she was aboard a ship with a rather large crew of men. template by isabella

Nothing had prepared Emma for this. She had been groomed to be a proper princess all of her life, but nowhere did anyone tell her what to do should she ever be kidnapped.. which kind of backfired when she actually was abducted while on her way back home. She thought she would be safe, visiting a few villages away and then returning back to her castle. It was a trip she'd made dozens of times, but this time, it didn't go as planned. "Let me go! Get your hands off! You're gonna be sorry!" She spat and hissed at the men who carried her on to the ship. She wasn't about to make it easy for them. In fact, she made it quite difficult. Falling and letting herself become dead weight, kicking, biting, anything she could do to keep them from taking her away. Unfortunately, there were too many.. and when they finally stopped, with the sound their boots were making, they were unmistakably on a ship.
The sack was pulled off her head, and she saw a man standing there in front of her. One who'd be considered attractive - if he hadn't kidnapped her. She was about to demand to know where she was, but he introduced the Jolly Roger. This was something she had heard, but she couldn't quite place it.. until she saw the hook lifting and touching her cheek. She turned her head to the side and looked away. "Don't you dare touch me!" She tried to pull her arms free to fight, but the other pirates held her down. "You want a ransom? Fine.. but you better hope that when my family pays for my freedom, that you're far away from me when i'm set free." That was probably the wrong thing to say, but Emma didn't care. She wanted to be away from this ship. She normally enjoyed the ocean.. but then again, she'd never came across pirates before.

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS Killian's smirk and amused expression remained in place. She was so defiant; how positively delightful. Hook was certainly going to have some fun with this one. "Feisty," he commented, taking notice of how she struggled and the strength in which she spoke her words. He leaned even closer to his still, his next words spoken in a low voice but easily heard considering their close proximity. "I like that," he remarked, his tongue slightly gliding over his bottom lip, an action -- once again -- meant to make the crude insinuations behind his words rather evident. Her threats regarding the hope that he would be far away when she was released, caused him to move back and chuckle in the humor he found over her threats, the rest of his crew joining in on the laughter.
"I don't think you're in any position to be making threats right now, Princess," he told her, clearly amused by her. All in the fun of provoking her if nothing else. "For here on the Jolly Roger, we don't take kindly to threats. Especially ones from royals, as your rank here is meaningless." Rank within the ship was significant but it mattered not what status blood ran through her veins. "All you need know is that I am Captain and if you wish your journey to be pleasant, then I suggest you stop making threats, and start thinking of how to get on my good side." Which was pointless, because he didn't have one. "And if you can't think of anything, then simply ask, because I certainly can." Words that elicited another round of laughter from his crew mates for once again, his suggestions would be rather . . . lewd ones. To add to the suggestion of his words, his eyes leering over her perfectly formed body. template by isabella

To say Emma wasn't scared would be a lie. This wasn't the sort of thing that she thought would happen with her.. Even though she was smart enough to know it wasn't a surprise. Regina.. it all came back to her. Everything that randomly went wrong as she was growing up was because of the grudge that Regina held. No longer was she Queen - not in reality, at least - because the people of the Enchanted Forest overthrew her long ago.. but still, she managed to pop in to the picture every now and again to make her family hurt. Little did they know, it was all a preview for the big show.. to kidnap Emma. What was her plan? What did she think would come of this? Perhaps the old witch wanted to get her out of the way so she could eventually become more powerful and take over the kingdom again. Whatever the reason, Emma was angry.. and she wouldn't give in. Or, at least that's what she kept telling herself as she was standing there, being held down by several pirates who could do unspeakable things to her at any time.
And then there was their captain. She knew the maritime law, and that he was the closest thing to royalty on the ship. This was -his- kingdom, and right now, she was just a girl in a fancy gown who would bring him a great deal of money. She was a bargaining tool..which meant that he wouldn't hurt her too much.. Right? As he moved in close to her, and spoke of getting on his good side, she would have thought that it would have made her skin crawl. That wasn't entirely the case with him. Maybe it was simply because she knew in the back of her mind that he wouldn't hurt her - he couldn't hurt her. Or maybe it was other reasons she couldn't explain. Either way, instead of spitting on him like she would have wanted to when he told her that he could think of ways of her getting on his good side, she lifted her chin and looked in to his eyes. "I'll keep that in mind." She spoke with a prideful hair flip. "So, should I ask where I'll be sleeping? Or will I get another crude response?"

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She was not at all what he expected. Then again, he was unsure what he did expect. What he could easily determine was that she was indeed a strong woman. The way she lifted her chin showed she would not be intimidated by him, as did the way she looked directly into his eyes and flipped her hair. She was no ordinary princess, such was fairly evident. Which only meant that this was going to be far more fun than Killian had otherwise imagined. Her question was far too tempting to forgo the opportunity of giving another -- as she had put it -- crude response. He just couldn't resist.
"As you are a princess, I am certain you are used to the finest accommodations, and this will be no exception. So I shall provide you with options." He turned his back to her for a moment, taking a few steps away before facing her once more. "If you want the best quarters on the ship, then you are welcome to join me in my room." Yes. Another crude answer indeed as his expression and tone made it apparent what reasons he had for making this offer.
"Another option is sharing quarters with the crew. I'm certain they would enjoy the company, eh lads?" His question was responded to by the crew with a few cheers, whistles, and Ayes. "As for your third option . . . it would be the dungeon below deck." This time, there was no lewd insinuations but rather, a reminder that she was his prisoner. "After all, we have to find ways to ensure you make no attempt to escape." For that would defeat the entire purpose of this plan and quite frankly, would enrage the captain for having wasted all this time strategizing how to capture the princess. "So, which shall it be, your Majesty?" He inquired, saying her title in a more mocking tone than anything out of respect. template by isabella

Emma wasn't surprised when she was presented with the options of where she was to be staying while she was a captive on the Jolly Rodger. She inhaled slowly, and exhaled by clearing her throat. "Well, Captain, if those are my options, I'm going to have to take the dungeon." The tone of her voice was a little more snide than she wanted it to be. Or maybe it was exactly what she wanted it to be. There wasn't a way in Hell that she was going to be locked up with the crew of the ship. She'd be like fresh meat to a group of men who were starved. And she wasn't about to sleep in the Captain's quarters.. she had no idea who he was, but she was sure that her maidenhood would be in danger. So the dungeon was the only viable option.
"I wouldn't want to impose, after all." She still kept her chin held high. She couldn't show him that she was scared, or nervous. This would blow over.. it had to. The moment that her parents got word that she was gone, they'd have her back. "I do have one question for you, though.." she mused, staring in to his eyes. "If I may ask. Why did you do this? Do you think that you'll just get your money from my parents and you'll sail away in to the sunset?"

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She chose the dungeons and while that did not entirely surprise him, he jokingly showed a face of disappointment. "Then it seems you have chosen to be our prison, rather than an honored guest." Though really, either way she was a prisoner. His prisoner. One meant to be kept aboard and unbeknown to her, it was for the rest of her days. He moved to turn around but only made it half way when she spoke again, saying that she had a question. The curiosity was enough to cause him to stand and look at her as she asked it.
He smirked upon hearing her words. How true they were for no where in them were words of her own release upon gaining the money. "Aye. That is exactly what I intend to do." The Evil Queen was paying him, he would try to get some extra payment from her parents . . . but really, the treat of it all was going to have her on board for a while. How enjoyable it would be to have a princess aboard the Jolly Roger. "Why? Are you concerned that I won't be able to get away?" He asked, the same smirk playing on his face. "You need not worry about me lass. For if your parents love you as much as I hear they do, they won't do anything to jeopardize your return. And setting me up . . . well, that will certainly not ensure your safe return home."
Even if he had no intention of actually returning her. Not any time soon anyway. "Now, do you intend to remain in that rich garment?" He asked before holding out his hand at which point, one of his men tossed him a dress that was more casual; the look of a civilian or peasant rather than a princess. "Or can I offer you something more . . . comfortable?" He asked, holding out the bundled dress in front of her.

Emma had never been in a situation as uncomfortable as this one, but she knew she would prevail. She honestly had no idea that he was planning on keeping her, so she still had the comfort in knowing that in time, she would be back in her parents' loving arms. "Your guest?" She asked with a small grin. "If this is the way you treat guests, I imagine you don't have much company." She narrowed her eyes. "Your -crew- is hurting my arms. A bruise covered princess isn't exactly your best leverage, Captain." It was her way of asking him to tell his men to release her. "I won't run. I care too much about my family - and fear of what would become of them - if I tried to run away."
Emma was of course privileged. She didn't understand the desire for money, but maybe that's all it was.. a need for coin. There had to have been something she could have done...make a bargain..anything. But for now, she had to tolerate whatever was happening. She rolled her eyes when he mentioned her concern for him. She didn't have any.. she didn't care what he did after he got the money.. all she cared about was getting off of this ship as fast as possible. One night wouldn't kill her. And when he asked about clothing, her eyes went wide. "I'm fine. It's.. it's comfortable." She lied. Traveling clothes were always the worst. She had to be presentable when she was representing her Kingdom.

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She was quite right about that. They didn't get many guests. No. Correction. They did not get many guests that were of a royal nature. "No one quite as valuable as you," he told her truthfully. "A young, beautiful, rich princess. Oh yes. You are certainly an unfamiliar sort of company on board." And there was indeed so much they could do with her . . . which led nicely to the next point she had made, regarding how a bruised covered princess would not be the best leverage. "On the contrary, love, a bruised princess is perfect leverage. It shows that we are to be taken seriously." And it would help build his reputation as a menacing pirate.
"And if you think that a few bruises is the worst fate that can befall you here . . . then you are greatly mistaken." For there were fates that could be considered worse than death, especially for women, and Hook made no secret of these implications in how he spoke his words. "For I may not only have taken the princess from the king and queen, but perhaps I will take her virtue as well." Less subtlety in what he was suggesting. And it worked perfectly in her assurance that she wouldn't run for she cared too much about her family. Well wasn't that precious. Hook had learned the difficult way that loving someone was a weakness. And seeing as how he lost most everyone he loved . . . well, he needed worry about the well being of others. Especially not when he profited in the suffering of others. "I sincerely hope you remember that," he told her was a warning, that she dare not make attempt to leave this ship.
She then confirmed that she was comfortable in her current clothing, causing Hook to take a few steps toward her. "I was being kind by making it sound like you had a choice," he told her as he pushed the still bundled dress against her chest. "Though I suppose it would be difficult to change with bound hands," he said, his eyes lingering down to her tied hands as he slightly raised an eyebrow as the thoughts of her changing entered his mind, while his gaze clearly enjoyed the view and mental images of what was beneath the clothing that concealed her. "But don't worry, love. I can help you with that," he offered, his gaze still downcast as it searched over her body, enjoying the view as the side of his hook gently skimmed over her collarbone, slightly inching a little lower.

Perhaps Emma had been a bit too cocky. Maybe she should have laid off with the attitude, but she couldn't help herself. She was vastly out numbered, and although her father had taught her how to fight with a sword, that wasn't really helping her at the moment. She had insisted when she was young to get at least a little bit of training in case something were to happen, but it wasn't as extensive as she would have liked. As Hook spoke of the horrible things that could happen to her, including him stealing away her virtue, she finally started to feel her skin crawling. Luckily for her, she lacked her mother's desire to charge in to a battle. Instead, she decided to try her best to hide her fear. "Fine," She hissed, narrowing her eyes. "Do what you will, Captain. I'll even sleep in your chambers. Take my virtue, watch all of these men do it instead, do whatever you think will make you happy, But just know that I'll be the one at the end of the day to be embraced by those I love. You'll just be a lonely pirate, sailing the seas with these men."
It was cruel, and she didn't mean to say it.. but the things that he had been telling her were perverse and wrong. She stopped squirming, and fighting, and allowed herself to go limp in the arms of the crew who were holding her while his hook trailed over her collar bone. "I don't know who hurt you, or why they did it.. But I do know that projecting all of your anger on to me isn't going to do anything."

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS She was a fighter; that much was clear. And had her words not struck a nerve within him, perhaps he would have commended her on her courage. But unfortunately, it had indeed hit a nerve within the captain. Mainly because of the fact that he knew what it was to love and have lost. That he craved the love that he had once found with Milah, yet knew that he would never fall in love again. He sometimes felt that it would have been far less painful to not have known what such a powerful emotion felt like, because the heartache of losing her was too severe for him to bare. Though instead of showing sadness or heartbreak, anger took over as he looked at her with a deadly glare. No longer did he feel the desire to tease and taunt her. He was just plain angry now. He couldn't even find comfort in the fact that he had no intention of allowing her to reunite with her loved ones. That she was here for quite some time.
As this new emotion took over, he grabbed her by the hair and aggressively turned her around, her back pressed against his chest as he yanked her hair to pull his head back a little more, gripping it tightly and hoped it hurt. He then raised his hook, the point of it hardly an inch away from her eye. "Do not push me, princess," he said angrily. "Perhaps I will change my mind and just kill you instead. For the suffering your parents will endure over never being able to find the body of their daughter will be satisfaction enough for me." Because she was pushing him. He was the one who was supposed to be provoking her! But instead, she had found the exact words to say to cause him to snap. And he didn't even care if Regina would be angry at him for that.

Yep. She had most definitely struck a nerve. No longer was he 'lighthearted' and in the mood to toy with her. Now he was angry. This meant that she was right.. he had been hurt. That he had loved, and something happened. Did his loved ones leave him? Die perhaps? She had no idea. All she knew was that someone he cared about was gone, leaving him with an empty hole that he filled with greed, lust, and rum. When he pulled her back against him, she winced. He got what he wanted.. it did hurt. Badly. She started breathing heavier when she saw the hook so close to her eye, because she knew that this could be her last moment. She wouldn't get to say goodbye to her family, and she'd die on a ship. Her body would likely be sank in to the sea. This wasn't a way she wanted to go.
"I'm sorry," she muttered truthfully. She was sorry that he was an empty shell of a man. That he had to make a living by killing, pillaging, and who knew what else. She would have said more, but it seemed that she had spoken enough already. Anything more out of her mouth and she would have likely gotten a hook through an artery. Still though..after a moment, she spoke again - her voice slightly trembling. "That was rude of me. Considering the circumstances, you've been kind."

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS Sorry. She was sorry. But it was too late for apologies. He was already too angry over her remarks so her words now were meaningless. He inched the hook a little closer to her eye, considering to cause a blemish in her otherwise perfect figure. But instead, let the threat loom. He would simply have to work harder to make her fear him rather than embolden her to say such insults to him. He then angrily pushed her to the ground, uncaring of how strong his shove was and whether she fell to the floor or caught herself before she did. "Take her to the dungeon!" Hook ordered. Almost immediately, a couple of the men grabbed her by the arm and began to take her away.
"Let's see how well she fares in the alone, in the dark and without food for a few days," he added before she was dragged off to where prisoners were taken. Hook then went up a few steps to the steering of the ship, turning the wheel to move the ship toward the left. He had no set destination in mind but he needed to distract himself from what she had said, and all the emotions that she had caused to arise within him. Milah was never far from his mind, but was why he continued to live this life of piracy -- even more brutally than he had before. And then of course there was rum to resort to. He just had not expected this princess to get the better of him . . . and she had not even needed a sword to do so. What the hell had Regina gotten him into.

This was probably deserved in a way... at least to Emma it seemed that way. As she was being carried away to the dungeon, she decided to allow herself to escape from her own mind. To pretend that she wasn't there on that ship in particular, but a different ship.. sailing to an unknown destination while she stood at the front of the ship watching the sun setting. Since she had slipped out of her mind, she didn't notice the blatant groping, nor the musky smell of the dungeon. When she was dropped on to the ground, she was knocked out of her day dream. The sound of metal banging against metal assured her that she was now locked in.. and she was likely going to be here for awhile. Deciding that it was okay to break down a little now, she rested her hands on her face and started to softly sob.
--------------------- A few days later ---------------------
Maybe the pirate was right, Emma thought. Maybe she should have changed. The dress she had been wearing was tattered, and filthy. She felt disgusting, but more than anything else, she was sad and upset. She missed her family, and wondered how much they were worrying. She wished she could just tell them that she was safe, and that she would be okay..even if that wasn't entirely true. She had slept a lot.. it was the only thing she could do to make herself not go completely mad. No one had come down to the dungeon to torment her..and maybe she would have even enjoyed it deep down because it would be some sort of communication... but if this was to be her fate, then she would accept it.

Villains DON'T GET HAPPY ENDINGS He had stayed true to his word. He did not allow her any food nor company for a few days. His objective was to teach her a lesson. That he was the one in command and that she best respect that for while he would not kill her, he could still cause her pain. He could control her by disallowing her food or fresh air by having her remain in the confinement of the cooped up dungeon. After all, it was meant to be a dark, dreary and dismal place. The next few days he had spent perfecting his plan of getting the ransom. Not to mention the fact that he had received the rest of his payment from Regina for his services. He had explicit instructions to keep her on the ship. For how long, Killian was unsure. He just knew he had to keep her alive.
Which meant . . . he would have to feed her. But that didn't mean he was merely going to give her the food and allow her to eat. No. He needed to regain control. After the passage of a few days time, he decided to pay a visit to their princess prisoner. Holding the bundled dress he had once offered her before he made his way down to the dungeons, the lantern handled swinging off his hook while his hand held the garment. "Greetings, Princess. It has been quite some time has it not?" He asked tauntingly as he moved closer to the dungeon. The man who came along with him unlocked the door and pushed it open as Hook stepped inside. "I imagine must be rather hungry and thirsty," he said, continuing to tease and taunt her. "Which is why I come with an invitation for you to dine with me." He then tossed the garment toward her, slightly leaning forward. "I suggest you take advantage of my generosity. Unless you have not yet learned your lesson." Which meant, that he would continue to deprive her of food and drink until she was on the brink of starvation.
