He was getting frustrated with his failed experiments, and needed to get more supplies. He could practically feel his father's disapproval, but he continued to fund his project and Victor knew it was well worth it. This wasn't just some silly experiment... this was something that could change the future of mankind. And Victor Frankenstein wanted to be the one who's name everyone remembered as a man who could play God. A man who could bring people back to life. He grabbed his hat and cloak, putting it on as he quickly skimmed through his lips of needed supplies. He then hurried outside, telling them to ready the carriage.
However as he stepped out into their entrance, he heard a not so distant voice. When he looked straight toward the gate, he saw a woman. Not only that: he saw a dismembered woman. He hurried toward her and stared at the sight before it. It was a very good thing he wasn't squeamish. For this sight was indeed a morbid one. "Good god, woman, what happened to you?" He looked at the parts of her and, it was strange. It was almost like she wasn't... "Are you even human?" He asked curiously, his voice void of any fear or well, anything at all. In fact, there was excitement there. A strange sort of thrill over seeing her like this and knowing that he could very well fix it.

It was true that their last date hadn't exactly gone well, considering his inattention and the conversation of children throwing him off. But this time, would be different, even if their meeting was not planned, but rather, a run in. The poor woman looked sad, and he enjoyed seeing her smile. She had resigned her position from the hospital, and he had been worried that it was due to him and his... less than classy actions. He knew the gentlemanly thing to do would have been to call her and plan another date, and perhaps his arrogance was what concerned him as to her reasons from pulling from the hospital. Maybe after tonight he could her mind about that.
He ordered another drink for them, turning his head to look at her as they sat on the stools at the counter of Granny's Diner. "You know, I'm really glad I ran into you," he told her sincerely. "I did feel quite bad about how our last date ended." Without him calling. "So thank you for allowing me the opportunity to make it up to you now." She was clearly upset about something or another, and he hoped that he could distract her from it. Or well, if he couldn't then surely the drinks would help. She did after all say that he could buy her two... and something told him they wouldn't be stopping there.

This was such a strange arrangement. Regina and Robin were practically watching every move... more so than Regina had when David was in the hospital. Whale of course was made aware of the situation, practically the whole down knew -- perks of being in a small close nit down where everyone was in each other's business. But the doctor's priorities were not with the drama; it was to ensure Zelena and the baby remained healthy, and that she had a safe delivery. They made their way into the room and she seemed fully prepared as she lay on the examining bed, telling him to do his worst.
It was the way she had said it that caused him to pause for a moment before responding. "For yours and the baby's sake, you should hope that I do my best," he told her, giving a small nod to the nurse to start hooking her up to the monitors. "Is this your first child?" He asked, having to get a history from her so that he could better treat her. It didn't seem that her sister and Robin knew a great deal about her past... or if they did, they hadn't shared it with him. At least he could use doctor patient confidentiality as a reason to not disclose anything. Surely even the Mayor would understand that.

Victor had to admit that this was slightly absurd . . . but he supposed it was what needed to be done. Who knew that the hospital could double as some sort of prison. First, as an asylum for Belle, and now, a prison for Zelena. Or arguably an asylum; he supposed it depended on who you asked. Either way, it seemed that the Mills sisters -- or family in general -- had quite the knack of being villains. He recalled all too well the little riot he had led to Regina's door when the curse was broken. She had been without magic then, just as Zelena was now . . . or so he hoped. It seemed he was about to find out.
He entered the room and saw the expecting woman sitting there, greeting him with a welcome that sounded rather sarcastic. Whale looked at her surroundings and then at her. "Your baby," he answered in response to her question as to what brought him here. "I'm going to take you upstairs for a check up." He casually placed his hands in his pocket as he looked at her. "I assume that won't be a problem?" He asked. He certainly didn't want to deal with another difficult Mills member; Regina had been more than enough. She was evil, and her sister was wicked. God knows what that made their mother.

The news was not easy to deliver. Not because he was informing a family member that their loved one hadn't made it. It was because he logically could not explain the circumstances. The Sheriff had been brought in for a presumed heart attack. Only when Whale tended to him, he quickly discovered the impossibility of this? Why? Because the man didn't have a heart. He, literally did not have a heart. It left the doctor perplexed and confused, not liking the fact that he couldn't explain it. He had just informed the deputy, Emma, and she was just as shocked as he had been. "I can't explain it," he answered. "It makes no sense. It's impossible. But . . . it's not in his chest, I'm sure of it." Victor kept his voice down, not wanting others to hear about this.
"I haven't told him yet. I just got him stabilized and I don't want to do anything that will increase his . . . " Heart rate. But, he didn't have a heart! "Stress." He supposed he'd have to go with that substitute. "Ms Swan," he continued. "I haven't told anyone about this, and I think we should keep it that way. The town doesn't need to know that there's a man roaming around without a heart. Not until I have a logical explanation of how this is possible." He didn't like not knowing. He was determined to get to the bottom of this, no matter what that entailed. "You can see him now if you want," he added on with a bit of a nod, hoping she was in agreement that they wouldn't spread news of this medical impossibility.

Hey there Belle! Would you care for a thread with Whale? A couple ideas that immediately come to mind is one where she was freed by Jefferson and maybe she had to go to the Hospital to get checked out and make sure she was alright! OR we could do one that takes place after she was shot by Hook and lost her memory, and maybe Whale checks in on her or something? That's all that I can think of at the moment! Is there another idea you have, OR any AU you'd like to do? I'm just for just about anything!

Whale had to admit that the Charmings had done a rather good job of organizing this event. The hall was beautifully decorated and it was filled with people who looked to be enjoying themselves. Whale had decided to come to . . . well, for the same reason everyone else had. He wasn't overly anti social though he supposed it depended on his mood. Tonight, he had dressed appropriately for the occasion and decided to take a night off work. Which, wasn't difficult consideering most all the residents of Storybrooke were here. He looked around, taking in the sight of those mingling and dancing. Ah, dancing. He may need a couple more drinks before he partook in that event. The area was not short of beautiful women, that was for certain.
He made his way to where there was champagne and picked one up, immediately taking a sip as his eyes returned to surveying the crowd. This world was so different from where he came from and while this wasn't the first time he had been here, he was now able to appreciate it and really take it in. It was far more filled with color and life though he supposed he had chosen surrounding himself with grave darkness in his home. The thought of it caused him to take another, longer sip, hoping to distract his thoughts from going to his brother.

.:Name:. Victor Whale .:Nick Name:. Victor Frankenstein .:Affiliation:. None .:Status:. Nobility .:Story:. Frankenstein
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ |
.:Physical Appearance:. Victor has blond hair, blue eyes, and light colored skin. He has a regular build and dresses in a rather sophisticated manner. At work, he is clad in his white lab coat with a stethescope around his neck and a suit and tie underneath. Outside of work, he maintains a well put together appearance and professional look. .:Height:. 6" .:Portrayed by:. David Anders
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ |
.:Personality:. Whale is a fairly respectful, extremely well educated individual which is reflected in his speech and overall demeanor. He is a hard worker, spending most of his time at the hospital and performing his job to the best of his ability . . . well, most of the time. He does tend to have moments of instability where he questions his capabilities and wonders if he's doing more harm than good. Such mindsets even once led him to nearly commit suicide but was saved and after a heart to heart, he changed his mindset. He tends to keep things very casual and is very calm and composed, even -- especially -- during moments of high crisis. He is rational when it comes to his job as a doctor, though can be irrational when it comes to his scientific experiments. .:Strengths:. Extremely intelligent, well versed in nearly all aspects of medicine deeming him a highly skilled doctor -- appears to be one of the only ones, skilled scientist and highly knowledgable in the subject .:Weaknesses:. His insecurities, lack of acceptance by his father, his mental instability at times

.:Birthplace:. Land Without Color .:Family:. Alphonse Frankenstein [father: deceased], Gerhardt [brother: deceasedish] .:Occupation:. Doctor | Scientist .:History:. Victor was born into a noble family in a land known as the Land Without Color -- a realm not well known to many. His mother passed away at a young age due to a terminal illness. It was then that Victor became obsessed with the idea of death, or more specifcally the reveral of it. He wanted to find a way to bring people back from the dead, as well as save them from dying. He then dedicated his entire life to uncovering the secret of ressurection, using his father's funding to do so. His brother on the other hand, engaged in a profession far more respected by his father which caused tension among the father and son. Victor was quite close to his brother, but Alphonse was very vocal on his preference for Gerhardt. Victor hoped that once he found a way to bring back the dead, his father would finally understand his work and praise him for it. Victor wished to make a name for himself and be remembered for centuries to come.
Part of unlocking this secret was the need of a heart, and after striking a deal with the Dark One, he had received it. Victor's first major test subject was his brother, who had tragically been shot while approaching Victor at a graveyard when the scientist was trying to dig up a body. The experiment worked . . . but no without a price. His brother was not the man he once knew, and ended up killing their father -- a death that Victor held no remorse for as Gerhardt was protecting Victor in the process. Victor kept his brother alive despite his wishes for death, as he hoped to somehow bring back his humanity and make his work a true success.
In Storybrooke, Victor works as a doctor at the hospital, able to practice all fields of medicine. He is known as the best at what he does, but he still feels the weight of his falures. It sometimes results in drinking booze on the job, or even fleeing the scene. He tries to remain focused and presentable on the outisde, but on the inside . . . well, that's an entirely different matter.

Doctor Victor Whale was hiding in his office. He could hear his name being called over and over again on the system, and his pager hadn't stopped ringing. What was he doing instead? Cradling a cup of scotch, taking a sip every now and then. The overwhelming feeling of this all being too much was surfacing and he was doing all he could to make sure he didn't flee from the hospital. It wouldn't be the first time. It would just be yet another breaking point for him. The incessant calling of his name wasn't helping matters either. Yes, there was someone who needed surgery but he was tired. Not in the physical, lack of sleep kind of tired. But mentally, emotionally, psychologically exhausted. Here, he saved lives. But back in his other world . . . he destroyed them. Part of him wished he could return to see his brother, yet the other part of him felt it was safer here -- which was a rather ironic thought indeed considering all the threats that constantly befell the small town.
Knowing he couldn't avoid it forever, Whale finally rose to his feet, and popping in a mint, spraying a few spritzes of cologne on him to cover up the smell of booze. It wouldn't affect his work; he had done this enough times. He pulled on his lab coat and grabbed his pager, tucking it into his pocket. Heavily sighing, he walked right out of his little hidden room and casually made his way to where the patient was waiting. He was greeted with frantic remarks of how they had been looking for him desperately, and inquiries of where he had been. "There's no need to panic," he said nonchalantly. "I'm here now, so let's get him preppred." And that was all there was to it. This was all there was to his life now.
