Goldie looked down at the dress that was in her hands, no doubt belonging to some girl who wasn’t necessarily on the straight and narrow in life. It had been three days since she boarded the ship, including an unpleasant encounter with the captain right away. Smee had come to her, a mixture of concern and then ordering her to have dinner. Clearly he didn’t negotiate with people often. She was beginning to sense that wasn’t something that happened often on the ship. Goldie looked at the small amount of water beside her, dipping a spare cloth into it so she could begin to scrub her arms and face. Maybe if she could scrub hard enough, this would all go away. But no matter how pink her skin began to blemish, the reminder that she would never see Graham again pierced her heart more violently than the captain’s hook possibly could. Goldie changed into the crimson dress, cleaning herself as well as trying to tidy her hair up a bit. Smee had made a comment toward her looks, and she figured if she was going to eat dinner then she should make an attempt to look decent. Outside of the captain’s door was standing Smee, looking pleasantly pleased with himself for rousing her from her isolation. Goldie waited a moment before he opened the door, giving him another glance before she stepped inside the Captain’s quarters. Her eyes scanned the table, widening slightly at all of the delicious looking food. Her eyes paused on the bread, wondering how rude of her it would be to devour it. But instead she squared her shoulders, looking up at the pirate captain as she held her hands at the sides of her dress, “Good evening,” she said quietly, biting at the inside of her cheek. But even as she looked back at the food, her heart ached for the Huntsman. Had he been eating, been provided food, somewhere he felt safe? Was he still alive? She felt a turn in her stomach, fueled by her anxiety, fear, hunger. Though hunger had taken over her, she was unsure at this point how she was going to force herself to eat. “Thank you,” she said, gesturing to the food spread out on the table. She wondered if he had this much set out the previous nights as well, a slight bit of guilt rushing over her before she pushed it aside. No one seemed happy about this situation, bringing guilt into it wasn’t going to make it any better or worse. Killian Jones

Rose pulled the door to herself tightly, making sure that the back door to the animal shelter was firmly bolt shut. She looked down at the little puppy she was bringing along with her to see Liam. It’s just, there wasn’t anything she could do except for cave to the adorable little eyes. She couldn’t cage him anymore than he wanted to be caged. Thankfully, she already had plans with Liam for the evening and figured that the best way to utilize her time was to spend her evening with two of the nicest guys in Storybrooke. Liam, and.. whatever she decided to name this little guy until someone finally took him home. “Okay, come on,” she said, making her way towards Granny’s Diner. She figured the only way to make up for the fact that she was bringing a dog over, was to also show up with food. She narrowed her eyebrows, trying to remember if there was a saying about men and food. Either way, she knew it chalked up to be a good thing. Once she tied the leash on a post outside, she head into Granny’s quickly to place an order for two bacon cheeseburgers with a large order of fries for them to share to go. Back outside, Rose knelt down, giving the dog a few of the fries as a treat. She bit the side of her lip, rearranging everything so that she could carry the food, as well as the leash. There were a few stops along the way, but it felt like before she knew it she was knocking on Liam’s apartment door. “Oh, bugger..” she muttered quietly to herself, holding the food up as the dog began to wrap the leash around her legs due to his circling around her. Goldie made a look of disgust as he spat back his own rhetoric at her. “ I have an utmost respect for those bears that my father hired you to slaughter. Don’t talk to me like you know me. You don’t know me. I’ve kept them protected since I was twelve years of age. You’ve just stepped foot into this household,” she said with anger in her eyes. She hardened her stance, not realizing how tightly her jaw had clenched itself when it came to her anger. “You think that you’re one with them, that it makes you better than the rest of us. It doesn’t. You aren’t the only one who appreciates animals. You are the only one in this room who smells like one.” she said testily before taking a few steps away from him.
Goldie clenched her hands together tightly as she paced throughout the room. Her father was going to expect that he kill the animals. And at that, he would want proof. She wasn’t sure what the Huntsman’s intentions were but surely he should be able to come up with something to appease him. Goldie looked over at the handsome stranger in her home out of the corner of her eye. He was a stubborn man, she could tell that. But at least he was genuine. She sighed out of annoyance, having found something other than his looks as appealing.

“ MMmmm.” Rose hummed quietly as he stated that things had been busy at the station. Lie . It hadn’t been busy. Everyone knew everything that went on in Storybrooke. Which is why she had to admit it was slightly foolish to be trying to so eagerly garnish the mayor’s boyfriends attention in such close proximity. But as she suggested that he would give her a ride, the smile spread slowly across her lips. But it didn’t seem that he was keen on sticking around to have another drink. Probably just intended to drop her off straight at home and then go back to his merry business. “ Am I ready to go?” she questioned with a lift of her eyebrows. “Oh!” she said, closing her eyes as she tried to shake the thoughts from her mind. “Yes. Sorry… Yes..” she said, nodding before she finished the remaining beverage in her glass.
Rose pushed her hair from her face, holding onto the table with one hand as she steadied herself when she stood up. “ Sheriff, aren’t you supposed to feed a girl before you take her home?” she said, trying to keep from smiling as she looked in his direction. She lift up her hand, placing her finger underneath his ties before playing with the end of it. “ I really want a cheeseburger.. A bacon cheeseburger. With the greasiest fries we can find… I think that’s in your protocol. You can’t leave a damsel in distress, now can you?” she said, giving a small pout of her bottom lip before letting go of his tie.

Goldie lingered her eyes over the pirate captain as he spoke just as distastefully back to her. She smirked quietly, moving closer to him. “If you’re threatening to place me in some sort of stow-a-way to rid your annoyance of me… I have a feeling that your agreement with the Huntsman is contingent on the fact that I arrive to safety both happy and well…maintained,” she said, giving a slight tilt of her head. “if anything, you’ll treat me kindly I’m guessing because the shiny golden coins at the end of the voyage tell you to. He would never give you full payment until he knew I was taken care of. Some men… have intellect,” she said with a lift of her eyebrow before looking down at his body, peering at the hook before looking back up at him. “I’m not a ‘lass’ who is going to melt in your one good hand, pirate.”
Goldie picked up the sides of her dress, making her way onto the boat, before looking over her shoulder. “ I assume as a good host, you’ll be having dinner with me?” she questioned, giving a slow smirk in his direction before turning to walk back on the boat. She kept her back toward him as she continued to speak, “Perhaps some rum,” she declared, dropping the fabric of her dress from her hands as she lift them to her cloak, beginning to unfasten it so that she could take it off.

There was a slight puff to Goldie’s eyes where she had spent countless hours crying over what was to become of her future. The Huntsman was out of her grasp and lost to her. There wasn’t a chance that she was going to get him back, they both knew that. Once he proved to be useless to the Evil Queen, she would discard of him like useless trash. She was mourning for a man that had yet to die, mourning for a love that had yet been able to amount to its’ full potential. There were so many tomorrow’s that had been stolen from them. He had convinced her however that there would be little to no sense in them both dying over this. Were she to die to, then the loving memories of him would disappear with her and that seemed to be a much harsher fate than the death itself. Goldie took in a deep breath, pulling the cloak down further over her face as she approached the dock.
Boarding a ship with a pirate was not something she looked forward to doing. But the Huntsman seemed to believe that he would be a man of his word and provide her safety. There wasn’t a soul she knew who didn’t know the name of Captain Hook, and the acts that came with it. He may have been foolish and reckless, but he was savvy. Goldie licked her lips nervously as the pirate spoke to her, jesting about a bedtime curfew. “Perhaps, pirate… You’re past your prime,” she said, reaching her hands up to lower the hood from her face so that she could free her hair from its’ captivity. She looked over him, her eyes pausing on the hook that proved dangerous to so many… Or so the legends would make it seem. Goldie tensed her shoulders, looking at Hook with a lift of her brow. “I heard the rumors that your vessel would be bigger,” she said, making an innuendo with dry tact in her voice. Goldie picked up the sides of her dress, deciding that it would have to do. Just because the Huntsman wanted it, didn’t mean she necessarily had to be happy about it. Perhaps Hook was a polite host. Perhaps he was even handsome, dashing..if she had a sword to her throat and had to admit it. It still didn’t change the fact that he was a pirate, and to him she knew that she was nothing more than cargo.

The hand that Rose’s chin was resting on had grown numb. Yet, she’d inhaled enough alcoholic drinks that she didn’t seem to notice her own body was falling asleep. No, she’d been too busy looking across at the sheriff. He had been sitting by himself for a while now, and no one new had come to approach him. Was this what her life was going to be? Pining after the guy that would never be hers? He felt so out of reach, like he was a word that was on the tip of your tongue. It felt so familiar yet you couldn’t grasp it. Rose sighed, picking up her glass of Jack Daniel’s on the rocks before making her way over to Graham. Graham was in Rose’s opinion, the most handsome man in all of Storybrooke. Actually, he was the most handsome man she could ever remember seeing in her entire life. She watched him carefully as she made her way over, setting her glass down on the table in front of him. “ Hello, Sheriff,” she said quietly, moving to sit beside him. Rose sat up, maneuvering her shoulders out of her leather jacket before letting it slip off of her and resting it on the opposite seat. She crossed her right leg over her left, smiling slowly as she looked in his direction. “ I have not seen you at the shelter in ages it feels like…” Rose traced her finger tips over the top of her glass before turning her body toward Graham, leaning in as she whispered toward him, “Do you think you could give me a ride?” Outfit

Goldie tapped her fingers against her cheeks tiredly as she peered out the window. Her father had been gone for hours and there was still no sign of the bears coming onto their land. The disgusting Huntsman for hire was downstairs, probably chomping at the bit to claim himself another head for his wall. The idea of him made her stomach turn with disgust. She couldn’t just sit here any longer. With determination, Goldie stood, grasping the sides of her dress as she hurried downstairs to find the man she had grown to despise so much in such little time. She peered around the corners as she came to them, careful that known of the workers in the house spotted her. Goldie’s father had made it very apparent to her that she was to avoid the Huntsman at all costs. Anything that came as a result of the bears had clearly been her fault in his eyes.
Goldie stepped into the kitchen was otherwise empty aside from the Huntsman. She narrowed her eyes with anger as she made her way toward him. “No matter how talented you may think you are at your despicable choice of a career.. You’ll never capture those bears,” she said, distain piercing through her tone as she watched the broad shouldered invader to her home. She lift her eyebrows, crossing the distance between them before trying to give him a hard look, “ You’re an animal. You are filthy, and vile.. You have no right to choose what lives and dies.,” she said accusingly as she stepped closer toward him.

“Don’t look at me like that, you know what you did was wrong,” she said testily, shaking her head as she walked down the empty hallway. ” I thought I could trust you,” she said with slight frustration before the dog came bounding down the hallway to meet up with her. Rose couldn’t help but smile, “Oh, alright.” she said, kneeling down so that she was on the floor and able to play with the rascal of a dog. Some animals weren’t meant to be caged. It wasn’t in her to put the ones in cages who looked like their life was leaving their eyes as soon as she shut the door. Rose scratched the back of the dogs ears, laughing quietly to herself as a look of nirvana came across its’ features. But just as quickly as he had slipped into a place of peace, his ears perked. He instantly started running toward the door. “Max,” she called after the dog, putting her hands on her knees before she stood up and followed the barking dog down the hallway. At the continued barking she heard footsteps. Rose narrowed her eyebrows together, “We’re closed,” she said, pushing her hair out of her face as she came to a standstill. The man standing in the entryway was none other than the sheriff. A jolt of electricity went through her as she looked down immediately to mask the blush that flooded her cheeks. “ Sheriff,” she said quietly, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was you,”. Rose parted her lips, awaiting to say something else before instead smiling politely. He was smitten with the town mayor, every one knew that. Besides, it wasn’t as if he had ever paid her any attention. Instead of saying anything else, she held the back of her arm tightly, turning on her heel to go get food that she could leave out for Max over night. She could hear the sheriff rustling around. The blush in her cheeks was starting to finally fade away. Though her heart felt like it was about to leap out of her chest. Feelings had a way of being so incredibly inconvenient. Rose slipped her gold colored jacket on, fastening the buttons as she watched his silhouette working with the animals. Taking in a deep breath, Rose turned away from him and made her way out of the animal shelter.
