Actually both Killian and Liam sing and enjoy music. It's in their genes as well as in their upbringing. Their mother was already very fond of singing. She sang to both her sons as soon as they were born and later encouraged them to sing with her. They still remember their old lullabies.
{This is totally Killian Jones 's fault }

| ~ • ~ | Character Basics | ~ • ~ | .:Name:. Liam Jones .:Nick Name:. Captain .:Affiliation:. Neutral .:Status:. Navy, commoner .:Story:. Once Upon a Time Original
| ~ • ~ | Appearance | ~ • ~ | .:Physical Appearance:. Liam Jones is a tall, fit person. His body is muscular due to having gone through naval training and pulling his weight on his own ship. He’s got the typical shape of a man working, including calloused hands. Due to what he’s been through several scars cover his body now. He’s got dark curly hair and blue eyes, often described as the seas water at the shore after a long awaited storm – not his words, of course. He’s mostly seen dressed in the appropriate attire of the royal navy, by now those were torn and clearly aged. .:Height:. 6 feet (1,83m) .:Portrayed by:. Bernard Curry
| ~ • ~ | Personality | ~ • ~ | .:Personality:. Liam Jones was forced to grow up faster than usual, being left alone with his brother at a relatively early age. That and the naval school taught him proper behavior, often leaving him to appear a bit uptight. He usually goes by the rules, trusting his superiors blindly and following the rules, while his brother was a bit of a rebel. He is a very caring man, often too forgiving to his crew, but he understands the pain of being away from friends and loved ones for long, having been separated from his brother for long times. Or at least he was this man. Over the years of being a toy to a higher power Liams soul has become as scarred as his body. The formerly happy, caring man is haunted these day, flinching at small sounds and, to his own sadness no longer the most comfortable at sea. .:Strengths:. Loyal, great leader, tactical knowledge, empathy, clever .:Weaknesses:. his brother, very trusting, haunted by his past
| ~ • ~ | History | ~ • ~ | .:Birthplace:. Unknown and he does not even remember. .:Family:. parents unknown, he no longer has memories of them as his mind compartmentalized a lot of information, choosing to let go of them in order to keep him sane. He does remember his fathers betrayal. And he remembers his brother, Killian Jones all too vividly. .:Occupation:. Captain of the royal navy. .:History:. Liam Jones was the oldest son of a couple. He remembers his father abandoning his beloved little brother, since he was apparently a fugitive. Their mother did her best to raise the boys, but in the end Liam took up a somewhat paternal role until her death. His desire to protect his brother and give him his best chance left him with but one choice: Join the naval schools and climb the ranks and later have his brother do the same. As they were both passionate about the sea it was the ideal path to education and a good life for both brothers.
Bein the trustworthy man he was, he soon earned the trust of several royals and the king himself, which ultimately led to the king sending him and his crew – for the first time including Killian – to the journey to a distant land. According to Liams information the task was to find medicine, the most potent one he had ever heard of. Had Killian not been with him, he would have enabled his own king to commit genocide on his enemies and therefore innocent people, who had absolutely nothing to do with the war. However, having trusted the king, Liam poisoned himself with dreamshade. The water of a well on Neverland restored his life, but once the Jewel of the Realm, his ship touched the seas of their realm, the poison spread again, extinguishing his life or almost all of it.
[AU for surviving]
Never in his life did Liam think the creature his body fell victim to existed: The Leviathan. The powerful magical creature drained the poison from his body, revived him with dark magic to toy with him and sailors. Over the years the creature used him as bait, letting him drift in the sea among driftwood, to appear as if he shipwrecked. Most ships took him on board, sealing their fate as Leviathan sank them and devoured the sailors.
One day the Leviathan got careless, too happy to toy with his prey, allowing Liam to get away. He finds a very familiar ship: The Jewel, now sailing under his brother. Liam was aware of the crews assumption he was an illusion due to the mist in this area possibly evoking them, but he intended to prove them wrong. With remnants of the other ship and the Jewel they attacked the Leviathan, which caused a fire. Despite the suggestions from the Jewel he’d just swim, Liam refused, for the first time feeling the depths of the fear and terror of the Leviathan he truly held now. He refused, voicing said terror. His endeavor to prove them wrong ultimately proved Killian and his crew right in their eyes. They left the illusion behind and in all honesty he could not blame them. His brother thought him dead, an illusion was only a logical conclusion. Eventually he had no choice but to let himself fall back into the water and with that back into the Leviathans clutches.
Liam lost all sense of time, so he had no idea the next time he had the chance of escaping was after centuries. He managed to escape the creature through a mermaids portal. To his own surprise he managed to swim to shore to of a strange land.

Sun, the glorious sun overhead of him, no creaking and groaning of ships, no wood underneath him, but sand. Liam could not believe his luck as he felt the tiny little corns of sand underneath him. As if to confirm it, he ran his hand through the substance, getting it into the scratches on his hand, but he paid no mind to the soft stinging. It was sand, dry – relatively dry – land and sun. He was safe. For the first time in ages, he knew he was sage. The monster could not reach him here on the shore, the water being too shallow for it, it would beach itself and perish and if there was one thing he learnt from being his toy – the Leviathan was too clever to take unnecessary risks. Safety. If he wanted to he could rest, knowing he’d not wake being bait again.
But no matter how much he longed for it, he did not even want to risk the slightest chance of the Leviathan getting him back. He had to move. Slowly the man struggled to his feet. He stumbled, not having used his limbs properly in a while had left them weak and wobbly, but sheer determination made it work. The city before him was strange, somewhat grey. He could hardly distinguish a color, but what did it matter? What mattered were the strange objects before the houses, the strange architecture. Where was he? As Liam felt the cold concrete under his feet and spotted a bench, he allowed himself to sigh. Once seated on the bench, the tension of a lifetime fell from him and he crumbled, closing his eyes in exhaustion.
