you make ONE HELL OF A PIRATE Killian smiled when she took the bag from his mouth and asked how he knew she would be hungry. "Just a hunch," he said teasingly. Despite whatever was happening, whatever they were all going through . . . he couldn't deny that he was incredibly excited to be a father. And the joy of having Milah returned. It was perhaps what added to the complicated situation, but how could he ever wish the first woman he ever loved to be dead? He couldn't. Even if he couldn't give her the same intimacy they had once shared . . . he loved her. And he intended to take care of her to the best of his capacity.
When she took a drink of the beverage he continued to smile. "It's called hot chocolate," he told her. "Far more healthy than coffee," he added on in a slightly teasing voice. Anything with a milk base was better than a caffeinated beverage. "I'm glad you like it," he said, relieved that she enjoyed the taste. Her expression then suddenly changed and Killian watched her intently. He still wasn't fully used to the mood swings that came from her pregnancy, thought he doctor had warned them about such things. She claimed that he was good to her . . . that he was a good father, and a good everything. The smile began to slowly fade from his lips, though tried to keep a faint one in place. He knew he was none of that. He wasn't able to commit to her the way she deserved, and he had failed in protecting her and their child all those years ago.
He was undeserving of the praise she was giving him, yet did not want to argue for he knew she would not change her mind about this. And it was what made her such a kind and compassionate woman. Besides, he didn't want to cause any further stress to her so he simply softly smiled and moved a bit closer to her. "And you are a wonderful mother, Milah," he told her with the utmost sincerity. It was far easier to talk of her strengths and sing praise to her, rather than himself. His hand moved to rest on her womb as his smile grew with ease. "Aye, that's right little one," he began to say, slightly lowering his head to talk to their growing child. "When you join us in this world, you'll see just how right I am about that," he said with a continued smile as he gave a bit of a wink to Milah. For their baby would have an incredible, loving mother in Milah.

Tag: @tinkerbell Note: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook knew that as much as he desired her . . . he could control himself enough to stop should this be too soon for her. But much to his delight, it did not seem that she wanted that. She told him that this would e a good place to start; the perfect place to start. "I couldn't agree more," he said with a light smirk playing on his features. She then even took the liberty of starting their actions, raising herself on her toes and meeting his lips with her own.
Her hands moved over his clothed chest made him desperately want to shed himself of the fabric that proved to be a barrier between him and her soft touch. Her body pressing against him certainly fed that urge as well. He breathed into the kiss, deepening it as he began to move forward, causing her to step backward so that they could make their way to his bed. The first time they had been together, it was in the middle of the woods on the ground . . . not that that made it any less enjoyable, but here they had the comfort of a bed and they may as well take advantage of it. For her sake anyway, for Hook was rather comfortable practically anywhere. His hand moved under her dress from behind, slowly moving up along her rear and up her back, making a mental note to not tear off her garment this time.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Liam's words were indeed true, that he had not endured 300 years of torture from a vile sea beast . . . but no. That was not all of it. Part of it perhaps, but it certainly wasn't the whole story. "That may be true, but I know there is far more to it," Killian told him confidently. He picked up on his brother's non verbal cue and Killian slid out from the booth, watching his brother display difficulty in getting up.
It caused Killian's heart to grow more fearful at Liam's condition, unsure what it was that was causing him to be so unwell. Was fate really so cruel to have reunited them after over three hundred years only to pull them apart once more? He hovered near his brother, prepared to assist him should he need it. He reached into his pocket and threw a few bills onto the table, figuring it would be enough. He walked alongside his brother as they exited the inn, and Liam's question caused Killian to stop walking for a brief moment. He tried to hurriedly regain his composure, standing alongside his brother once more.
Their mother. A subject that Killian had not spoken of since . . . well, the only one he really spoke of it with was Liam. "Not a great deal," he admitted, trying to keep his voice void of any emotion, but it seemed downright impossible to do it when speaking of Mirela. "I remember that her death was not sudden," he stated. She had been sick, that much he knew. "Why are you asking me this?" Killian questioned with a slightly raised eyebrow. There had to be a reason for his sudden inquiry on a subject that they did not often broach, even when they had been able to.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian felt sick to his stomach when he saw the scars on his brother's arms. He wondered just how many Liam's body was covered with. The selfish part of Hook was almost relieved that he didn't have a heart . . . but no. He wanted it back in his chest, so that he could experience all the emotions of being reunited with his brother. Damn Crocodile. Would the creature continue to deprive Hook of all his loved ones? As Killian looked intently at the scars, his jaw clenched, thinking of how much pain his brother must have been in . . . and when he had the power to save him, he had just sailed off.
He couldn't imagine the torture that his beloved brother had endured for all those centuries. "I'm sorry," he repeatedly quietly, the words so insufficient; so inadequate. He wanted to ask what the Leviathan had done to him, but also felt like a coward in this moment . . . for he feared the answer. And then, just like his brother would, he began to justify Killian's decision for leaving. "I may have done what a Captain would have, but I failed in doing what a brother should have." Which was have fought harder and not been so afraid of the truth, or disappointment. Killian knew he had been weak that day, just as he was weak enough to let Rumple take his heart. "And that role, takes precedence over being a captain." For being a brother was far more important, and he had clearly not been a very good one to Liam. He had left his brother in the wrath of the Leviathan, causing him to feel that fear and God knows what else for all those years.
He then asked him for water and Killian felt even more foolish for not considering his brother's need for it. Fortunately, Granny was thinking with a far clearer head and the moment he had said it, she was extending a cup filled with the liquid to him. Killian took it with a nod of gratitude and brought it to his brother's lips to help him to drink it. "You're safe now," he said in a quiet voice. "I won't let anything else happen to you." With that promise suddenly came the fear -- or whatever Killian could experience with his missing heart -- of his enemies in this town. Mainly, one particular enemy. "Does anyone else know you are here, Liam?" He asked. Hook hated to admit that Liam may not be safe with him, but he would rather die than cause any further harm to his brother. He was already responsible for so much. Perhaps once he was taken to the hospital, he could be better protected.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian knew his brother well, and saw that flicker of concern that crossed his guarded features when that one word of 'pirate' was mentioned. He would have to brace himself for whatever reaction his brother gave him. After Hook was done explaining, he waited with bated breath until his brother spoke again. Which . . . came out as a curse.
But one said in a tone that the younger Jones sibling immediately recognized. Liam pulled him for another hug and playfully ruffled his hair. Killian was surprised by it, but not surprised at the same time. He just stood there, still feeling ashamed and perhaps more so that he was being given such leniency . . . just as Emma gave him. It wasn't that he sought other people's disapproval, but he knew that it was what he deserved having a villainous heart for so many centuries.
His brother spoke of how he too would have become a pirate and, well, Killian knew that would most likely have been the case. Despite their position in the royal navy, they were not match for a king. And exposing him would have deemed them traitors. "You would have been one with honor, brother," he told him without a doubt in his mind. "You would have upheld a code, and stayed true to it . . . just as you always do." A code that sometimes Killian betrayed when faced in the angered heat of the moment. But Liam had always been rational; clear headed. It was why he was such an exceptional Captain.
Liam then stepped back and put a hand on his heart, a gesture that sent a comforting warmth through Killian, just as the hug did. To have physical contact with his brother after so many centuries . . . it was a feeling he had tremendously missed, to say the least. His eyes fell down as he slightly shook his head at his brother's next words, of how he had every reason to be proud of him.
Only when he finished speaking did Hook raise his gaze to meet his brother's once more, his words finished with another affectionate insult which caused a faint smile to form on the pirate's lips. "All that I am now, and that you claim to be proud of, is because of Emma." He wasn't going to lie about that. "Had I not found love again, I would have been a very different man. A villain." But she had brought him away from that darkness and into the light, even if he wouldn't ever be fully absolved of his past misdeeds and crimes. Killian put his hand over his brother's hand that was on his chest. "To hear that you are proud of me, is all I would have longed for." And even now, it made his heart swell with emotion. "But I urge you to say it when I deserve it," he told him. If he ever did.
"For now, please do not give me displaced credit." His war against the Crocodile had hurt so many others in the process. "I wish I had acted with the conscience you praise me for." But he hadn't. Killian slightly smiled, not wanting to argue with his brother for he was certain he'd learn soon enough, just how dark Killian's past deeds were. "But I will make you proud now. And be the man that you raised me to be." For whatever Killian had been before the darkness took him over, was thanks to Liam. "I love you, brother." He knew it may otherwise seem obvious, but he had been deprived of saying these words for over three centuries and did not want to spend another moment leaving them unsaid.
Killian then realized belatedly, the mention of Elizabeth and suddenly brought to mind her presence here, unsure if Liam had been reunited with her. "Have you seen her?" He suddenly asked. "Elizabeth," he clarified. "She's here," he revealed, his smile growing with ease for the thought of him and Elizabeth and the loved they shared, was an easy reason to smile. Yet in the back of his mind, Killian knew that it was another failure on his part . . . for abandoning her.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian wasn't sure what he expected the impostor claiming to be his brother would do as proof. So when he started singing, Killian froze. It wasn't just the familiarity of the melodic voice, but also the lyrics; the very song he was singing. It had been one that their mother sang when they had been younger, and one Liam had sang when she had been too unwell to do so. Even when she passed, the song had brought Killian comfort and his brother often granted him that. It had also been a lullaby that the pirate had sang to his unborn child when Milah was alive . . . and now, he was hearing it again. It was indeed all the proof he needed, and he felt unable to speak when the song drew to a close and Liam questioned if that was good enough.
Hook nearly dropped the sword from his hand, yet somehow managed to keep a hold of it. He swallowed back the emotions that flood his entire being. He was unsure how long the period of silence passed before he was able to form words. "Liam?" He said, though this time, his tone was different. It was not anger at someone claiming to be him. It was not filled with uncertainty. It was . . . acknowledgment. For this, was his brother. Killian consciously dropped the sword onto the deck of the ship and moved toward his brother; without thinking twice, he put his arms around him, wrapping them tightly in a hug. His brother. His beloved brother. Soon the guilt would set in, but right now, he was basking in any semblance of joy found in the fact that his brother was alive, and that he was here. There was shock of course, but over all else, in this moment, there was a joy.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION When she called him a kind pirate, Hook made a bit of a face, all in good humor of course. "Kind pirate," he repeated slowly. "Well that's not a desirable thing to hear for any pirate," he said only somewhat jokingly. Her next words of rubbish of a gentleman just made him smirk. "I have my moments of being a perfect gentleman," he said teasingly with a bit of a wink. He looked at her curiously when she spoke of how he wasn't going to like something, and then proceeded to move to rest her head against his chest and her arms around him.
He looked at her, frozen for a moment. He didn't usually engage in such physical contact with a woman unless he was bedding her . . . yet this seemed different. He slowly brought his arms around her, gently resting a hand on her back as he found a strange -- but not unwelcome -- comfort from her embrace. This wasn't as bad as he thought it would be . . . then again, she was an incredibly beautiful woman . . . holding her could never be considered undesirable. She asked him a question that pulled him from his thoughts, his mind going back to his first sailing experience. It had been when he was extremely young, with his brother. But Killian did not wish to bring up his family. Some memories were better left unspoken. That didn't mean he had no truthful answer to give her. "I was an extremely young lad," he began to tell her.
"Perhaps too young. For when I tried to pull the sails down, I went up with the rope," he said with a smile of amusement, knowing he had to keep himself guarded about his past before becoming a pirate. "But it was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Seeing the vast water gave me a freedom and serenity I had never imagined." He closed his eyes for a moment. "The openness, the gentle sway as we moved along the waves, the scent of salt mixed with the fresh air, and the breeze that added to it all." He took a deep breath, taking in all the things he had described in this very moment. He slowly opened his eyes. "I knew then that I was destined to live a life on the water." Rather than land. It was in his very blood, for his brother shared the same destiny.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Killian hadn't realized the extent of how triggering the idea of going to a therapist was, until Emma revealed her past experiences with them. He fell silent, listening intently, a soft expression on his face as he casually held her hand in his for additional comfort. He could imagine that hadn't been easy for her . . . especially considering how everything that happened in her past, was related to who she was; the savior, the daughter of Snow and Charming . . . and of course, the pulling of darkness from her.
"For what it's worth, Swan, I don't believe you need fixing." That sounded so . . . cold. As if she was a broken object that needed to be repaired. "I didn't realize that you had such a past with psychiatrists, as did your boy." The thought of putting Henry into therapy for the truth -- something that Regina had known he was right all along about . . . well, it was disturbing. But she seemed to show care toward the boy now well, of course Hook believed in reforming oneself for the better. "You don't have to decide anything," he added on, not wanting her to think that he was pressuring her. "It's just an option to consider, that's all." He didn't want to push her into doing anything.
He raised her hand he held in his own to his lips, and lightly kissed the back of it as he softly smiled at her. "Everything you felt in the past is now validated, Emma. You should never feel as if anyone has the right to question your own sanity. Same goes for your boy." Everything the two of them had felt, was true. And that certainly counted for quite a bit. "So tell me something, which fairy tale story was your favorite when you were younger?" He asked, hoping to find a positive in her past memories to help think her think of it fondly, in this moment anyone. And in doing so, he hoped to ease her stress and pain in recalling one of he foster families questioning her mental stability.

Tag: queenNote: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook somehow miraculously resist the temptation to roll his eyes at the boy's remarks. Though he did slightly clench his jaw at hearing Pan refer to him as Lieutenant. It was a title he'd not heard for many years; one he had abandoned after Liam's death. A death, caused by this very damn island that Killian now brought himself to. "Well the pleasure is all yours," returned sarcastically . . . though his words were true. The pirate captain derived no pleasure from being here. He was merely in this place for the magic it possessed that prevented a person from aging.
Hook was unfazed by his next comments, keeping his eyes on him, though retorted with a rather casual tone. "Coming from a boy in the same rags I saw him in years ago, doesn't leave you as a very credible judge on style now does it," he said, his voice mocking. He knew that the boy was trying to get to him, and he hated that Pan knew of his heartbreak. Exactly how much he knew had yet to be determined. "I know you have your bizarre rules regarding no adults and what have you, but I assure you that I intend to mind my business here. I won't get in your way, so long as you don't get in mine." He wasn't going to beg and grovel at the boy's feet . . . but he also knew in his gut that he was going to have to do some things for him to ensure he survived Neverland. The thought was not at all a pleasant one, but if Hook was anything at all . . . it was a survivor.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION David pointed out that it was still not medicine and Hook gave a slight smirk in response. "Regardless . . . it tastes bloody good," he said, offering the flask to him once more in case the prince changed his mind. He then went on to say that the dwarves would complain; to mark his word and watch it. Only Killian knew that he would not be around to witness such a thing. "Shame that you'll have to endure it, considering how close they are with your wife," he teased, deciding it was best to leave it at that.
His next words caused Hook to fall silent, listening to them. He wanted to remain hopeful that they would be reunited with Emma and Henry but . . . hope was a dangerous thing to possess. For the disappointment would be far too great. Killian had to come to terms with the fact that he may never see her again, though that did not change the way he felt about her. "It does seem like far of a happy ending for heroes," he told him. He knew why he didn't have a happy ending . . . but Snow and Charming, Emma and Henry, they deserved theirs. For they were all in the hero category. "I hope you are able to find a way to be with her and your grandson once again," he told him truthfully.
"You hero types deserve it," he added on with a soft smile, and slight tease, though his words were spoken with the utmost sincerity. Whatever life Emma believed to be living with Henry was . . . it wasn't real. Surely, this wasn't the end of their story. "And until then, keep your wife close, ey." Take advantage of being with the one you love . . . though Hook had not ever seen David or Mary Margaret take each other for granted. They seemed rather appreciated of the time they had together, especially having been deprived of it for twenty eight years, excluding whatever happened in the Enchanted Forest prior to then.
David then explained how they would have flasks for him as well as a ship. It made it impossible for Killian to lie to the man any longer. "I really do appreciate that, mate," he began to say, with a very clear but in his tone before he spoke the word. "But this isn't where I belong." His sense of belonging had been with Emma. But now that she was gone . . . he felt more out of place than ever before. "The Jolly Roger is my home, and I intend to find it." If what Regina said was true, then it was somewhere here . . . and he supposed tracking it down would be part of the fun. template by isabella

Tag: @sweettooth Note: proper gif coming soon! It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook wasn't too impressed with a couple of his crewmen right now. "It's comin' from over 'ere!" One of them exclaimed as he made his way through the thick woods toward the sound. "Don't be so daft! It's comin' from this side!" Another crewman was about to go in the opposite direction when Hook grabbed his arm. "Both of you are imbeciles. It's a bloody mermaid luring you to her sound." They both just stared at their captain, though could not resist the sweet melody of her voice.
They looked at each other and raced forward to where they suddenly seemed to realize the sound was originating from. Hook rolled his eyes and let out an annoyed sound. He had a few more men behind him who were awaiting their orders, ones who did not seem to be so taken by the voice . . . just as Hook wasn't. Killian had lost far too many men on this bloody island and he wasn't going to lose two more. He followed after them, the few men with him following from behind. When the two frantic crew men stepped into the clearing, they saw a mermaid perched on a rock. They seemed numbed to all other instincts as they just stared at her in awe.
Suddenly, Hook came up from behind and hit them both on the heads, one with the dulled curve of his hook, the other with the hilt of his sword. Both sailors fell to the ground unconscious. "Take them back to the ship," he ordered the rest of his men. They seemed hesitant to leave their captain, but were even more reluctant to disobey their orders. As they dragged the two men off, Hook sheathed his sword and look at the mermaid. "If you were expecting to see us on our ship, heading blindly toward the rocks, well then sorry to have disappointed you, love," he said sarcastically. He was hardly a fan of mermaids. And since there weren't really any pirates in the area except for him and his crew . . . well, it made them prime targets for the mermaids song.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hearing his brother's voice provided him with instant comfort, for he always felt safer around Liam. He heard him ask if he could hear him, and where it hurt. Killian kept his eyes closed, tightly squeezing them shut as he felt the pain yet did not want to make a sound from it. "My left hand," he explained. "It feels, strangely numb." He attempted to flex his fingers, not yet realizing that his hand was completely gone, for he still felt it there.
"How bad is it?" He asked him, knowing that his captain would tell him the truth. He didn't want it sugar coated, he wanted to hear the full severity of the wound. Liam then asked him a question that caused Killian to give a faint smile, trying to find light in this gruesome situation. "How about the rum for now?" He asked. He used to abhor the beverage but ever since embracing a life of piracy, he tended to indulge in the drink more often.
"If my Captain is alright with a drunk sailor?" He added on with a chuckle, that turned into a strained cough. He tried to steady his breathing, knowing he would have to brace himself with the pain that was to come. He was feeling dizzy, perhaps a bit delirious from the pain and shock of everything. But Liam was here, and everything would be alright. For his presence gave Killian an instant solace even in the most horrid of situations.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION Hook briefly glanced over at Charming who was preparing two cups of hot cocoa -- and didn't fail to notice the lack of alcohol. Which, was probably for the best. While he often resorted to rum, now was not the time for it. Especially while he held Neal in his arms. He listened to David speak of wanting to meet his brother, and it caused a faint smile to form on the reformed pirate's lips. "And I should like to introduce you to him," he told him sincerely. It wasn't always easy to speak of his brother, and the first time he had mentioned it at all was in order to save David from the Dreamshade. Had that not been necessary, Killian couldn't say when he would have spoken about Liam. Some memories were far too painful bring up. "Aye," he confirmed.
"They deserve all the happiness, and I hope that it remains for them." Meaning, he hoped that they would not disappear as quickly as they came . . . for who knows what the conditions of these resurrections were. David then explained how Emma would not say anything that he would not have wanted her to. "I know," he agreed. "It's not that . . . for she would be within her right to tell you." It was something that not only affected him, but her as well, and thus, the family. He could help but feel his heart swell with honor that she would defend him when it came to being tempted by darkness. Part of him knew he was undeserving of it, yet he couldn't help but feel that honor and bask in it.
"I wish I could protect her as well as she does me," he said, thinking aloud for he knew at this time, he wasn't doing a very good job of protecting her emotions when he was causing her such distress in them. Hook remained silent as he formulated his thoughts, aware he had to divulge the whole truth about the day Milah died. "When Milah was, killed." Thinking back on it still caused his heart to race with so many emotions. "She was carrying our child." A baby who had been a victim of the Dark One's wrath. "As she is now returned . . . the baby, our baby, has too." It still grew in her womb and within a few months time, would join them in this world. Hook paused there, tearing his eyes away from the perfect child as he met David's gaze to see what expression he could read from him.

It's Always Nice TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION She told him that she was as alright as to be expected, and then went on to say that she would be better when Henry was with them once more. "It'll happen soon enough, love," he assured her. He was confident in her abilities to save her son, and they would surely find a way off this cursed place. She further elaborated, speaking of the time when she gave him up for adoption, having let him down . . . and he could see the tear fall from her eye.
He had to fight every urge witihn him to not reach out and offer her some sort of physical comfort, even if it was just a touch of the hand. Yet he wasn't sure how comfortable she would be with that; if he would be overreaching. He softly looked at her as she then apologized as a small smile formed on his lips. "For what, showing emotion?" He asked with a slight tease, but a softness in his tone. "Emotion is not weakness, Swan. It helps you do what you need to get done," he told her. Whatever emotion it was. His had been ones driven by vengeance for so long.
"You won't let him down," he continued. "The only reason we're all even still here is because of you." If it hadn't been for her, they would have died in the storm. "I've seen you with your boy, and the way he looks up to you,. I doubt he considers you ever letting him down." Hook didn't know them as well as he would have liked, but from what he saw of them . . . he felt it safe to make that judgment.

a hero's journey
THAT IS INDEED GOOD FORM Killian knew this was what was needed; hearing each concern of his brother's so that the younger Jones sibling could squash each one and leave no doubt in Liam's mind. He agreed that Elizabeth always awaited them with open arms and an eagerness to hear their stories. He gave a small nod in acknowledgment, already prepared for what his next doubt may be. Liam agreed that Elizabeth values love above all else, and that she would rather marry for love than position . . . he then suggested the idea of Elizabeth being in love with him. The idea caused Killian to scoff with amusement and let out a small chuckle, before his expression turned serious again.
"Oh my apologies, you were serious about that?" He said teasingly, before his lips curved into a smile. He had been prepared for many of Liam's doubts and concerns . . . but not that one. Why? Because he knew Liam was a better man than he was. "Indeed, it is true that I love Elizabeth and that she loves me," Killian began to say as he casually put an arm around his brother's shoulders, as if entertaining the idea but then further explained what he really meant, for his words were indeed sincere. "But as a brother and sister love one another," he stated. "Which is drastically different than the love you and her have for one another." They were in love with each other. "Trust me, brother. I am as sure that she loves you, as I was that you love her prior to your admittance." And now the next -- and final -- step was to get them to admit it to each other.
